Y/N's POV

It's been two weeks since I faked my death, and everything went as I'd hoped, the entire Justice League believes that Deadbolt perished in the refinery explosion.

Tonight was dark and cold, and nothing but chaos, with Hoseok as Governor, the entire city went from prosperity to despair.

Citizens had no right to Freedom of Speech or to protest Hoseok's decisions, if you did, you'd be sent to prison or a fate worse than death itself.

The Justice Knights did all of his dirty work and they went from being righteous guardians of Tawagata to oppressors of freedom.

Alone and left with no allies or friends to go to, everyone had turned against me and those who see the light.

"Hey, guys get a load of this!" A Justice Knight announced.

Checking to see what he was talking about, two more Knights join him and they surround a helpless old man.

"P-Please I want no trouble!" The old man begged.

"Let's do this city a favor and get rid of crippled liabilities!" One of the Justice Knights said.

At first, I didn't want to get myself dragged into it as I'd prefer not to risk alerting the Justice League.

However, at the same time, I couldn't just watch them beat the old man to oblivion.

"Hey!" I called.

"What is your problem, citizen?" The Knight asked.

"You can't just go around and harm others just because you have authority in the city!" I explained and they laughed.

"Hah! Does he have a death wish?!" One of the Justice Knights asked.

"Alright, tough guy, will start with you first and I'm going to make sure you beg for mercy!" One of them warned and I grinned.

"You're all nothing but Hoseok's lapdogs!" I retorted.

"Oh, that's it, you're going to get it now!" He replied and he tried to punch me but I dodged it.

It was three versus one, but I can take on more than five guys if I wanted to even if they have superpowers.

One of the Justice Knights draws out his sword and tried to cut me but I grabbed a hold of his hand and twisted his wrist.

"AHHHHH!!!" He screamed in agony.

Dropping his sword, I picked it up and killed him by stabbing him in the chest, and he collapsed on the wet concrete.

"You'll pay for that!" One of them said.

Using super speed, he quickly circled around me to confuse me but speed isn't going to help in this case.

Patiently waiting for the right moment, he charged at me at an unnatural speed but I instantly lifted my foot.

He missed me and tripped on my foot causing him to trip and be sent flying into the air and crash into a window and he was killed by the glass shards.

With one left to go, he was terrified as he was alone, trying to call for reinforcements using telekinesis, I stopped him by tackling him.

Grabbing one of the bricks on the ground, I smashed it into his head and knocked him unconscious.

Catching my breath, the old man thanked me, and I told him it was best for him to leave the area before more Justice Knights show up.

"That was some show you put up, kiddo," I hear a voice compliment.

Turning around, it was a strange man dressed in a black raincoat with his hoodie covering his face and wearing a business suit with a red tie.

"And who are you?" I asked.

"Gotta say, defeating three heroes at once you must have a lot of skill and guts," He said.

"Superpowers don't scare me but again, who are you?" I asked.

"You can call me... The Contractor..." The Contractor introduced himself.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

"First, it's better if we move to a more secluded area, and soon the Justice League will take notice when three of their heroes aren't reporting back," He pointed out and I nodded.

We got into his luxury SUV, and the driver takes us out of the city, initially, I was confused but the Contractor told me that the city was too dangerous.

"Now, that we're out of Tawagata, I'll explain myself... I'm a representative of Wayne Tech," He explained.

"Wait... You mean the Wayne Tech?" I asked and he nodded.

"Correct, it's interesting that a former rookie Justice Knight of Tawagata had caught the eyes of my boss, Bruce Wayne," He answered and my eyes widened.

"R-Really?!" I asked.

"Yes, you've got some potential and great talent, which is something that the company looks for," He answered.

"So you're basically scouting me?" I asked.

"Correct, I'll go over all the details once we get to Wayne Tower," He answered and I nodded.

The trip was twenty minutes long, once we arrived in Gotham City and at Wayne Tower, we were escorted inside the tower.

At first glance, the place was bloody massive and luxurious, there was a fancy lobby and party room for guests.

Following the Contractor, we go into an elevator that takes us to the top floor that leads to his office.

"Please have a seat, I'll order some refreshments for the two of us," He instructed and I take a seat in front of his desk.

Observing the office, there was a huge painting of Bruce Wayne himself, lots of fancy decorations and statues of birds of prey, and shelves full of books.

The waiter comes inside and placed a tray of cups and a kettle of hot chocolate, he pours it into our cups.

"Thank you, you may leave us," He dismissed him and bowed before vacating the premises.

"Now, let us begin, I'll explain all the details in your contract, and what will be provided for you by Wayne Tech," He explained.

"In the contract, you'll be working as a bounty hunter to disclose any involvement of Bruce Wayne and the company, not only you'll be paid well for each job you do for us, will be providing you a place to stay and new toys that you'll find quite useful." He explained.

"W-Wow, that's a lot you're giving me for simply doing jobs for you guys," I mentioned.

"Yes, it does seem a lot but you get used to it when you work for one of the biggest cooperations in the country, plus, your talents are hard to find these days," He replied.

"So, do we have a deal?" He asked.

Taking time to consider this huge offer, this is obviously a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of Wayne Tech as only the smartest and most talented people can join their ranks.

"Deal," I answered and we shook hands.
