It Took Five Minutes

The soft fabric of his favorite orange flannel brushed against the bedpost as he stuffed it into his duffel bag. "Remember, Cas, whatever she tells you, she is not to leave the bunker. Hell, she shouldn't even be out of bed anymore than an hour or so at a time."

"I understand, Dean," the angel answered impatiently.

"Yeah, well, I just wanna make sure you do, 'cause that kid's a damn expert at lying, and she's already startin' to go stir crazy in here."

"It has been nearly two weeks since the incident," Cas pointed out helpfully. "It is unusual for humans, especially Winchesters, to stay in one place for that long."

"Yeah, yeah. Well, she's still recovering, so just make sure she doesn't push it, okay? Last thing we need is her hurtin' herself and gettin' stuck in bed for another two weeks."

"Anna, your brother informed me that you were to stay in bed. You are still recovering, and you need to rest."

"Cas, it's summer vacation. It's bad enough I'm stuck inside, at least I can watch Netflix."

"I do not know what a Netflix is, but you have been sitting for nearly two hours and Dean said-"

"Don't worry about it. I'm just watching TV, okay? I doubt there's any more harmless activity than that out there."

"TV? Why didn't you say that the first time? Still, you have been out of bed for longer than-"

"Cas," Anna huffed. "Go away. I can't take you breathing down my neck. Just go make yourself a PB&J or something. You like those, right?"

"I did, but I was human then. They simply taste like atoms now."

"God, the things I hear," she snorted good-naturedly. She wondered what Kate would think if she met Castiel and heard him say something like that. When Cas still didn't leave the room, she picked up the remote and clicked off Sam's TV. "Let's go get coffee or something, Cas. Please?"

Castiel immediately crossed his arms, and seemed to be mimicking a pose Anna usually saw from Dean. "You are not allowed outside of the bunker."

"Oh, my bad. I forgot you were my father," Anna said dryly, accentuating the comment with an eye roll. "Cas, I just want a cup of coffee. You know, I haven't been to the cafe in almost three weeks. Diane is gonna think I died or something."

"Who is Diane?" Cas asked, ditching the parental stance to stare at her in confusion.

"She's a barista at the coffee shop in Lebanon. Come on, please, Cas. It's summer vacation. Everyone's out doing stuff but me." She put on a pathetic face, eyes widened and pleading, biting her lip hopefully. When she saw his resolve begin to waver, she internally cheered and tacked on the final plea. "Cas, I've been hurt and restless for the past two weeks. Please just let me do this one thing."

The response was immediate as the angel immediately hung his head in defeat. "Do not tell Dean or Sam," he commanded.

A grin split Anna's face and her eyes brightened considerably. "Yes! Thank you, Cas. You're the best. Let me change and get my wallet. I'll meet you in the garage."

Guy was too easy. It only took five minutes after the boys left to get out of the bunker.
