I am currently prepping for my first ever red carpet premiere and I am sweating bullets. Just the sheer fact of knowing that everyone will be there to judge me is scary. They're going to judge my hair, makeup, outfit and my newfound talent- that's a lot to take in.

To the Moon and Back is a really good movie and it's pretty emotional but I know that there are people who will hate on it because they personally don't like us. I'm worried that I'm going to pull a Jennifer Lawrence and fall on the carpet which is not cute.

My mom notices the nerves rolling off my body and takes a seat besides me as I get my hair done.

"Tell me what's going through that pretty little mind of yours." She says as she grabs my hand and begins rubbing circles on it.

"I'm just really nervous." I sigh. "This is my first red carpet and I don't want to mess it up."

"You won't." My mom gives me a reassuring smile. "You have been doing so well with the interviews, everybody loves you already."

I smile at her, "I don't know how dad does it everytime, all those cameras and people shouting your name."

"Well, your father has always been one tough cookie and so are you." She gives my hand a squeeze. "You're going to smash this premiere and the rest to follow."

"How are you feeling?" I redirect the attention to her. "You're finally going to be walking carpet with dad."

"I used to do it all the time." She laughs. "I stopped because the camera and lights just weren't for me, plus I had my chunky momma to look after."

"I'm really proud of you." I tell her and she looks at me in surprise.

"Me?" I nod my head and she laughs. "What for?"

"For stepping outside of your comfort zone." Her smile softens at the sound of my words. "You really didn't have to come back into this but I appreciate you wanting to be apart of it."

"I'm your momma, I promised to be there with you every step of the journey." My mom leans forward and whispers in my ear, "I even bought my matron of honor dress so you better tell your dad about your wedding date before he sees my dress."

My eyes widen in surprise as the makeup artist walks into the room, "How did you know?"

"Like I said, I'm your momma and I know everything."

There is no way to really describe what it feels to walk down a red carpet premiere but exhilaration may be pretty close it. The only times that I have had this many eyes on me was when I spoke during my lectures.

"Amerie, look this way."

Instead of having a red carpet, my dad opted to have a white carpet which I appreciate since I am wearing a red dress.

"Stand in the middle." My dad tells me as he steps to the side and I step inbetween my father and mother who are beaming for the cameras. For having made her return to the red carpet, my mother is lapping up all the attention and showing everybody why she is Mrs Johnson.

I already know that I am going to be dragged to filth for the dress that I am wearing for a movie with my dad but nobody said that this was a movie for children. There is a lot of blood and gore in this movie, it is completely different to what the trailer showed.

"You look stunning." My mom tells me as she steps to the side to allow my dad and I to have our pictures taken.

I blow her a kiss which she pretends to catch before placing her hand over her heart.

My dad loosely wraps his arm around my waist as we pose on the carpet. A smile forms on my face as somebody compliments me and my dad chuckles.

"Don't forget that I'm the reason why she's here." My dad says in response. "She may have her mother's beautiful looks but I contributed something too."

I slap his chest while laughing.

"Just ignore him." I tell the photographers as we pull away from eachother to pose for individual shots.

At some point we pose for pictures with some of our cast mates and the director of the movie before my dad gestures for me to speak to a few reporters. I take a few deep breaths before making over to the people fighting to get to me first.

"Amerie Johnson." I stop by the first reporter who happens to be a well known female from YouTube. "Are you spoiled?"

Without batting an eye, I look right into the camera.

"Without a doubt."

She's a bitch for asking that so I move on without saying a word because that was no way to start an interview. If you wanted more clout then say that.

"What are you wearing this evening?" Another reporter asks. "By the way, you look gorgeous."

"Thank you." I smile at them. "I'm wearing one of my own designs which has not been released yet."

"Well it looks incredible." I thank them again. "How does it feel to be at the premiere at your very first movie?"

"I'm hoping that it is the first of many to come but it's slightly overwhelming." I grimace. "I'm grateful to experience this moment with my parents who are awesome as always and I hope everyone enjoys the movie."

My dad's PR agent gestures for me to move on which I do.

"Congratulations on everything." The reporter tells me and I thank them, "We can't wait to watch the movie so is there anything that you want us to know?"

I take a small step towards them, "The movie isn't what you expect."

"What does that mean?" They wiggle their brows at me.

"It's about the father and daughter relationship but it's also about survival." I smile as I think of the filming process. "What's a better way to show that love than to be in the line of fire? I hope that gives you an inkling as to what to expect."

My dad joins me for one interview before we make our way inside where my mother is waiting for us. I am very happy to see my grandparents there so I quickly greet them before joining my dad at the front of the big screen.

"I just want to personally thank you all for coming out tonight." My dad says into the microphone. "This movie is so special to me because I have my daughter in it. I didn't know how it would turn out because we have never worked together professionally but this is quite literally my best project."

A smile forms on my face as I look at my dad.

"Not only am I proud of the project but I am proud of my daughter who has really come out of her comfort zone." My dad kisses my head and I wrap my hand around his waist. "Do you want to add anything?"

I take the microphone out of this hand, "2021 is the year of the Johnsons and you have not seen the last of us."
