Chapter Ten: Edward POV; At The Palace

I let her slip right through my hands. I watched him sweep her off her feet. You know what I did, nothing.

I could've grabbed her hand but no. I could've called the Navy faster but no. I knew that I should've made the security tighter!

I've been locked in my room for days. Only opening the door from my butler, Eric, to get food. I was planning anything to everything to get her back.

I received a letter not to long after the kidnapping. I was digusted by it. By everything.

Oh Dear, Dear Prince,

I know you must be wondering why you're receiving this letter. Well, I stole your precious princess.

In return for the chance of me ever returning her safely , I'd like to, receive a payment of sorts.

I'd like 1,999,000 gold coins along with some other treasures. Anything that pleases the eye of a pirate really.

So, anything sparkling in the sunlight. If you don't pay us, then forget about seeing your pretty little princess again.

Have a fantastic day.

   Sincerly, The Mysterious Pirates

I stared at the letter. It was almost as if it was taunting me. I would read it for any hint whatsoever but I always ended up with nothing.

"Ugh!" I threw the letter across the room angey with myself. "Your highness?" I sudden knocking at the door made me look up.

"What. Is. It." I said annoyed by the disturbance. "I'm sorry sir but a young lady is here to see you." Eric said walking into the room.

"Fine let her in." I replied exasperated and tired. "Your highness." I looked up to see a beautiful young girl. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Though she was tan, the red dress complimented her.

"What is it?" I asked quickly wanting to be alone again. "I'm sorry your highness, I came to help find my sister." She replied not looking up.

"And who are you? Does your sister hold any importance to me?" I was on edge when she sat down in a chair across from me.

"My name, is Violet. My sister is Anastasia, well, step-sister. I want to apologize to her, and not just over a letter." She replied calmly.

I could tell that she was worried about her sister. She was also on edge about speaking to me. She was sitting straight, but she was sitting a little, too straight.

I sighed standing up and walking around the table and stood behind her. "And how can you help? Can you bat your eyes so much that you'll fly away and find them?"

She chuckled then let out a sigh. "Funny, but no. You see I know something. About her father." She stood up and smiled.

"It could be a game changer. So what do you say..." she held out her hand torwards me. "Friends?" I smiled and shook her hand.

"Friends." I smiled and we continued talking. I was not prepared for the information about her father.
