Chapter Eleven: Rough Seas

Anastasia POV:

I woke up the next morning wrapped up in Leo's arms. I would've been fine with it if he had a shirt on but, yeah, he had to be top less.

I tried to wiggle free but he held me tighter in response. I sighed and put my forehead against his chest knowing he wouldn't let me go.

"If you aren't careful, I can't promise that you'll leave the room today." I sat up in a shock causing me to fall off the bed. Sadly for Leo, he fell too thanks to my clumsiness.

He braced himself causing him to trap me between the floor and his body.   A sudden knock echoed and the door opened allowing Tom to walk in. "Cap'n we... , oh, umm, this seems to be a bad time..." He slowly walked backwards and out the room.

I sighed for what felt like the millionth time in just a few days. Standing up I pulled my boots on and washed my face with a bowl of water in the room. How it didn't spill everywhere, I don't know.

I stepped out to see everyone doing what they usually do. Masoch was checking on the cannons and gunpowder, Sam was moping, Tom was steering, Nate was most likely cooking, and Chris was doing whatever he's supposed to do.

I skipped down the steps and joined Sam in mopping cleaning up the deck as quickly as the mess was made. The rest of the day went by normally. With cleaning, joking around, and so forth.

Or so you'd think. It was nighttime and I was already in bed when the ship rocked heavily back and forth causing me and a few maps to fall onto the floor. I stood up clumsily trying not to fall from the swaying of the boat.

I finally managed to get to the door when it swung open causing me to fall on whomever it was. "That's twice today. I'm starting to think that you aren't daddy's good little girl."

I chuckled nervously and tried standing up but to no avail. "Need some help?" Leo asked already standing up. "H-how can you..." Without waiting on me to reply he easily lifted me up bridal-style and walked into the room.

Without realizing it we were both soaked from head to toe. It was raining idiot! I thought to my self feeling embarrassed about being so dumb.

"Here." He handed me a towel and I immediately began to dry myself off. I was freezing yet due to my blushing I was having a hot and cold moment.

Having mostly dried himself, he went over and picked up the maps that had fallen earlier. "Your hair is still soaked." I said helping him as I clumsily walked over with the ship swaying crazily.

"Yes, and?" He said looking up for a second before fixing up his desk. "You'll catch a cold." I set the maps down on the table while leaning on it slightly.

"So what?" He asked sitting down in his chair opposite of me. "A captain shouldn't be sick. He has his crew to think about." I said sounding dignified and posh.

He chuckled and continued drawing on a map. "You aren't 100% dry yourself  missy." I blushed looking down at his statement knowing he was right.

"So, I'm just me. Nothing special." I said looking away. I didn't realize how dark it was until I looked away from the candle on his desk.

"Stop degrading yourself. That's what your old family thought. They are wrong." He said as he stood up walking to the other side of me.

"Sure, they were wrong, but, I just..." I looked back down feeling upset by how stupid I had become. I let them do this to me. Not them, me.

"I-we all think that your the brightest, most responsible, bravest, and most beautiful woman we've ever met. And trust me, we've met a lot of women."

I rolled my eyes at the last part but I was happy he-they thought that. Leo took a step closer and lifted my chin. "It's time you started living it up more."

His breath tickled my face causing me to blush even more. He was leaning in ever so slightly and I was too until the ship rocked heavily. Yet again we fell.

Yet again he fell on top of me just like this morning. "Cap'n!!!" Sam barged into the room and stared wide eyed at us before backing away. "This seems like a bad time." He said as he exited the room and closed the door.

It was then that I noticed that the storm had stopped. Though, two people now think that we're, oh lord, what do they think?!
