I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 67:

--Derek's POV:

I woke as I heard Emily's heart beat slowly rising. Raising my head off the mattress, I noticed she was sweating badly. Her breathing had become increased and heavy. I looked towards the door as Scott walked in. He had obviously heard and sensed the changes in Emily's condition, judging by the look on his face. Sean soon followed after Scott.

"What's wrong?" Sean asked as the two came and stood by her bedside.

"She was sleeping fine then she started this." I said motioning to her slightly shaking body.

I placed the back of my hand onto her forehead and felt worried as I touched it.

"She is burning up." I mumbled.

"She must have a fever." Scott said as he quickly turned to the bathroom and left.

He returned soon after with a wet cloth. I shifted over slightly so he could lean over her and place it across her forehead.

"What can we do?" He asked.

"Nothing. Her body is fighting off the infection."

"Infection? What infection?" Scott asked.

Sean and I exchanged nervous glances. Scott didn't know about everything we knew.

"What is going on with her?" Scott said, his voice rising with slight anger and concern.

"She was attacked by the Alpha." Sean replied.

"I know that." Scott spat.

We both stayed quiet, waiting for Scott to realize what Sean meant by Em being attacked by an Alpha. His eyes soon widened and I could feel the anger radiating off of him.

"She was bit." He breathed in a low tone.

"No, but she sustained injuries that could cause the same thing to happen if she was bit." Sean said to him.

"What? That's impossible. I thought you had to be bit to be turned!" He yelled.

I glanced over at Em to see if her brothers yelling was affecting her but she seemed fine aside from the slight increase in her heartbeat. I was keeping my cool as well so I wouldn't wake her.

"Not necessarily. If an Alpha's claws go deep enough, it can be enough to change a person." I told Scott.

He didn't say anything as he stared down at Em. His shoulders rose and fell as his anger grew.

"Does she know?" He spoke softly as he stared down at his sister.

"No. We don't know if we are going to tell her because we don't knowing yet if she has actually been turned." Sean spoke.

Scott quickly turned on his heal and left the room without a single word.

"That went better than I thought it would." Sean mumbled.

I nodded my head, knowing he was right. Scott would eventually calm down and accept the fact that Em might be a werewolf now. I wasn't happy about it either but the wild side of me had already accepted it because it was in my blood to want her like that. But, I don't want her life to be like that.

"I don't want her to live in fear." I suddenly said, speaking my mind. "She will be hunted and will always be running if she’s turned."

"I know." Sean whispered, knowing I was right. "We don't know anything for sure though."

I sighed heavily and leaned back in my chair.

"I can't sense any changes in her body but she is healing so quickly."

Sean hummed his approval then took in a quick breath, as if realizing something.

"She wasn't healing the first day after she had been attacked."

I cocked my head to the side, wondering where this conversation was going.

"When did you arrive?" He asked with a smile.

I raised my eyebrows realizing what he was saying.

"She started healing this way when I arrived?" I said more as a statement rather than a question.

"I believe so. When I walked in this morning and saw her in the kitchen, she seemed like she had already been healing for at least two weeks."

"Her bruises are gone as well." I added.

Sean looked at Em and nodded his head.

"If she hasn't turned then it has to do with you two being mates."

"That's what I was thinking." I mumbled.

"I wish we could know for sure." Sean said to himself as he backed away. "Scott and I are almost fixing the front door. Do you need anything?"

"No." I said as he nodded his head and left the room.

I felt Em's grip tighten on my hand and I looked over at her. I felt my heart drop as I saw her eyes opened and tears flowing freely down her cheeks.

"Em! What's wrong?" I asked, leaning over to get closer to her.

"I..." She paused as she let out a sob.

I quickly got up and lay next to her on my side. I wrapped my arms around her and she leaned into my chest as she let out another sob.

"Em, talk to me please. Are you in pain?" I asked with a serious tone.

"No. No." She started and took a deep breath. "I..."

She paused again and I was starting to get really worried.

"Em, please tell me."

"I heard you talking." She whispered as another cry escaped her lips.

I felt my body freeze. "Were you awake the whole time?"

"No, but I heard certain things." She stopped and looked up at me from my chest. "Is it true? Am I like you and Scott?"

Our eyes met and I watched her carefully.

"We don't know for sure." I whispered.

"When will we know?"

"Not until the full moon."

She took a deep breath and I could feel her trying to suppress another sob.

"It will be ok. We will all be there with you for the full moon incase you do. You aren't going to do this alone." I said as I tightened my grip around her and kissed her head.

"I know." She mumbled. "Thank you."

I knew she was scared and she had every right to be.

"Does it hurt?" She asked in a small tone.

I tensed and didn't want to answer but I knew I had to be truthful with her.

"Yes. It is for new werewolves but eventually the pain subsides after a few full moons pass."

"Ok." She breathed.

"It's going to be ok. We don't even know if you have been changed so don't worry about it right now." I said as I ran a soothing hand over her cheek down to her shoulder where I ran my fingers back and forth across her collar bone.

She looked up at me and smiled weakly.

"Derek?" She mumbled.

"Hmm?" I said, my voice muffled because my face was buried in her hair.

"What are mates?"

I froze as the words left her mouth. How was I supposed to explain this to her?

"Enough questions for now. You need to rest." I said nervously and she took a deep breath.

"Only if you tell me everything later?" She smiled.

"I promise." I said and I began to get up to give her more room on the bed but her small hands quickly gripped the front of my shirt.

"Sorry." She mumbled under her breath obviously embarrassed by her sudden action to prevent me from leaving.

"It's ok. I’ll stay." I said as I wrapped my hands around her own, which were still gripping my shirt.

My hands easily covered both of her small hands combined. I slowly and gently pulled her hands off my shirt and brought them to my mouth. I kissed her hands and she smiled.

I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen and I knew it was my connection with her that was causing it. She was still in pain but I smiled seeing how brave and strong she was about it. No one but me would ever know she was in pain right now because she was hiding it so well.

"Go to sleep." I told her as I turned more on to my side.

She lay on her back with me right next to her on my side looking over her.

She nodded her head and slowly closed her eyes. I relaxed both mentally and physically as her heartbeat steadied and she drifted off to sleep.

(A few days later)

-Emily's POV:

"Are you sure you're ok to be home?" Sean asked as he opened the passenger door to Derek's Camaro for me.

"Yes Sean." I said as I rolled my eyes. "You, Scott, and Derek will all be there so I think I will be fine."

"Are you sure you don't want to go in my car? Derek's still a criminal in Beacon Hill's eyes and if you're caught with him you could be in a lot of trouble." He said and I heard a low growl come from the drivers seat.

I glanced at Derek who was sitting in the driver’s seat, looking very annoyed with Sean’s comment, and smiled.

"I will be ok." I replied and Sean shrugged his shoulders.

I stepped into Derek's car and plopped down on the seat. I winced as the claw marks on my back connected with the black leather through my shirt. My wounds were pretty much healed but they were still very sore. Derek watched me with a knowing look.

"You are still hurt and you need to take it easy." He said in a serious tone.

"I know, I know." I smiled innocently at him, making him roll his eyes and smirk.

I watched through the front window as Sean got in his car along with Scott, who got in the passenger seat.

"Ready?"

I hummed a yes and couldn't help but smile. This was the first time I had been able to leave Sean's apartment. On top of that, I was able to finally go home. Sean had to tell my mom and the Sheriffs department that he had taken me to a safe house because of the frequent attacks. After much persuasion and a lot of yelling, Sean was able to make them believe him. He got in a little bit of trouble because they said they took me and left without telling anyone. He wouldn’t tell me anymore about it and it worried me.

"Excited?" Derek chuckled as he glanced over at me then back to the road.

"Yes, how did you know?" I asked.

"Your heartbeat." He smirked.

My eyes widened. "You have inhuman hearing too?"

"Yes."

"That's how you heard me singing in the shower and all those other times?"

"Yes." He relied again.

"What else can you do?" I asked curiously.

"You are asking to many questions already." He said with a small grin.

"Sorry." I said sheepishly. "I just want to know anything and everything about this."

"I know. You will soon."

I was about to protest but stopped. I knew he would tell me everything soon and that I just needed to be patient.

After a while of driving, I smiled as we pulled up to my house. I felt like I hadn't seen it in ages. Derek pulled into the driveway as Sean put his car in park right next to us.

I rolled down the window as Sean rolled down his window.

"Park it in the garage. We will meet you two inside." Sean yelled over the two engines.

I jumped out and opened the garage door so Derek could pull his car in. It wouldn't be a good idea if someone saw his car parked out in front of my house. I closed the door behind us and Derek shut off the car.

I watched as he got out of his car and walked towards me. For some reason as soon as he got right in front of me I quickly wrapped my arms around him. I was happy, yet sad for some reason.

"Hey." He whispered, trying to get my attention as he pulled away and pushed my chin up with his fingers.

I didn't allow him to say anything more as I crashed my lips to his. I needed this right now. I needed to be with him. He responded immediately and wrapped his arms tightly around me. He backed up a little and I followed. He ended up leaning against the side of his car with me in front of him. His hands went to my hips and our kiss depended as he pulled my body closer to him by my hips. He pulled away from my lips only to bring them back onto my jaw. His lips then left my jaw and traveled down to my neck where I was barely able stand up straight. My knees felt weak and I felt hot as he continued his exploration with his lips. His hands traveled to the small of my back then lower. I couldn't help the breathless moan that escaped my lips, which earned a low growl from Derek. He pulled away and looked at me, our foreheads touching. Our breathing was heavy and our eyes were both filled with happiness and a hint of lust.

"Em..." His voice was low and husky.

"It's ok." I interrupted with a smile. "You're scared you are going to shift. I understand."

He chuckled and shook his head. "It's not that."

He moved away from me but grabbed my hand in the process.

"Someone's coming."

I laughed sheepishly as I heard the door being opened that led into the house from the garage. Sean poked his head in and grinned evilly.

"You two behaving in here?" He teased.

My face went bright red and Derek's grip tightened on my hand as he led me to the door. Sean only laughed as Derek pulled me past him. I couldn't bear to even look at Sean as I passed him only making Sean laugh harder.

Derek glanced back at me and grinned.

The next few words that came out of his mouth made my heart stop and excitement bubble in me.

"Next time, no interruptions."
