Chapter 64

I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 64:

--Sean's POV:

I stared down in horror at the werewolf I had just shot below me.

"Derek." I mumbled.

Blood came from his mouth as his hand slowly clutched his chest.

"Get the hell off me." He snarled as he leaned up on his elbows.

I immediately stood up and backed away from him. I watched him in shock as he picked himself off the floor very slowly and stood up. There was no way he could be getting up after that blow. He was very unstable and I could see the blood seeping from the wound in his chest down his bare skin.

I heard a small gasp come from my bedroom. I turned to see Emily standing there leaning against the door frame with her hand covering her mouth and her eyes wide open staring at the both of us.

She slowly began to waver and I could see the blood coming from her chest. Her sudden movements and her leaving the bed had opened the claw marks, making them bleed again.

She looked like she was about to pass out again. I quickly began to make my way over to her as she began to fall but Derek was there before I could even blink. He wrapped his arms around her small frame and slowly slid his back down the doorframe with her in his arms. He finally hit the ground gently and that's when I realized the drastic consequences of my mistake. I had shot him in the heart. He wouldn't last much longer.

I felt as if I was intruding on something very private as Derek slowly moved the hair from Em's face. His face slowly transformed back into its human form and I could see the slight smile on his face. Em weakly smiled up at him as well. I waited for what felt like hours as he held onto her body tightly in his arms.

Not to be harsh but I was confused as to how he wasn't dead yet. I slowly made my way over to the two and knelt down beside them. Derek let out a low threatening growl as he saw me but stopped as Em's hand grasped gently onto his arm, silently telling him to calm down.

Derek's eyes slowly met mine and they flashed blue for a mere second.

"I'm sorry." Was all I could say.

He was silent at first but then smirked slightly.

"You missed, you idiot." He said in a flat tone.

I stared at him in shock, wondering how in the world I had missed his heart.

"When you jumped, your aim was off and you hit right next to my heart." He said in a low tone.

He slowly moved back to show me the bullet wound that was way to far left to have hit his heart.

I took a deep sigh of relief as I realized he wasn't in any danger of dying. I couldn't do that to Em, even though I didn't exactly care for Derek anymore.

"Wait! Why in the hell did you attack me if you knew who I was?" I suddenly asked looking down at the claw marks on my body, knowing that he could see me clearly in the darkness when we were fighting.

"I didn't know what I was doing. I only had one thing on my mind." He said as he looked down at Em's now sleeping form.

I watched them both carefully.

"We need to close her wounds back up." I said as I saw the blood seeping through Emily's clothes.

Derek nodded his head and slowly rose up, with her in his arms. I smiled a little, seeing how protective he was of her but I couldn't help the small ping of jealousy that rose up in me.

"Put her in the bathtub. We need to clean her off before." I said.

"Not we, I will do it." He said slowly.

I smiled and nodded my head, not daring to question him right now.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed some rubbing alcohol and dressings for both Emily and my own wounds.

I heard the water turn on and I sighed realizing how much worse this night could have been. Everyone was safe and that's all that mattered right now.

--Derek's POV:

I gently took off her shirt and pants, leaving her in only her underwear. I slowly lowered her into the half filled bathtub and cringed as I saw the water turn red with her blood. I quickly drained the water and filled up the bathtub again with her in it.

I hadn't noticed that her eyes had slowly fluttered open and she was trying to get my attention.

I reached around to her arm and sighed as she reached up and held my hand. Her shaking fingers wrapped around my much larger hand as best she could. I looked up at her face and smiled as she looked at me. Her beautiful green eyes were covered with pain and hurt but she still put up a strong front.

"Em." I whispered as I brought my face closer to hers.

Her lips met mine and I thought I would die right there from happiness of being in her presence again, as cheesy as that sounds.

I pulled away and rested my forehead on hers.

"Derek," She whispered weakly, "I missed you so much."

Tears began to fall from her eyes and I quickly wiped them away.

"Please don't." I breathed as we both smiled.

Her hand slowly reached around my neck and wrapped around it. My hands cupped both of her cheeks as she kissed me another time.

I slowly pulled away and looked down at my wounds. I had almost healed completely already, except for the one in my chest. That one would take longer to heal.

Em slowly closed her eyes and I could tell that she was losing consciousness again.

As I was sure she was completely asleep, I reached across her and grabbed the small towel that hung in the shower.

It took a good thirty minuets to clean off the three wounds on her. I could feel the anger rising up in me as I saw each angry claw mark across her smooth skin.

The Alpha would pay for what he had done to her.

I calmed down as I heard a knock on the bathroom door. Sean slipped in the half open door and I let out a low growl as he took a few steps forward. The only reason I didn't want him coming any further was because Em was half naked. My territorial side was kicking in and I took a deep breath.

Sean put his hands up in a surrendering manner and sighed.

"I'm not coming any further. I just came to see if you needed any help or anything."

"Just a towel." I replied.

I watched him carefully as he reached down into the cabinet under the sink and pulled out a large white towel.

He didn't bother moving towards me to give it to me because he knew I wouldn't let him.

"Here." He said as he tossed it towards me and I caught it with ease.

He turned and left the bathroom and I let out a sigh. My body relaxed and I shook my head. I was being so territorial with her right now but who wouldn't be? I had lost her and I had finally found her. I wasn't going to let her go.

I laid the towel across my lap and gently lifted Em out of the bathtub, onto my lap. I wrapped the towel around her and held her close to my chest.

She slowly let out a deep breath and cuddled further into my chest. I moved her a little so she wouldn't touch my now dried blood that came from the bullet wounds.

I carefully lifted her up and walked out of the bathroom with her in my arms. I stopped as I saw Sean placing some first aid stuff on the nightstand next to the bed. He looked up at me and let out a sigh.

"All the stuff you need is here. I know you don't want me here." He dryly chuckled at the end.

He moved to leave the room but I stopped him.

"Thank you." I mumbled, not exactly happy with the words coming out of my mouth.

"It's no problem. You know, you're not the only one who cares for her." He said in a flat tone before leaving.

I cocked my head to the side in confusion as he left. I could feel myself grow hot with anger as I thought about his words. Does he have feelings for Em?

I instinctively tightened my grip on Em but quickly loosened my grip as she whimpered from the sudden pressure.

I placed her down on the bed on top of the covers. She had Goosebumps covering her body. I winced internally seeing all the bruises on her body, especially the one on her lower stomach. He must have punched her there. I tried to not think about my uncle and focus on making sure Em was ok but it was almost impossible. He had done this to her.

I took my time cleaning out the claw marks over her body. It seemed to hurt her less when I went slow and was gentle with cleaning out the wounds. Finally I was done and had wrapped up all the claw marks that covered her body. I carefully slipped her pants back on but didn't bother with her shirt. The wrappings that went around her to protect the claw marks on her chest covered her up so there was no need for it.

Her skin felt so cold so I pulled the sheets over her freezing body. She was still shaking a little.

I hadn't even noticed Sean next to me until he gently threw a thick blanket on top of all the sheets covering her.

Thankfully my werewolf side was already calming down so it didn't bother me that much that he was so close to her.

I mumbled a thank you and he walked to the other side of the bed and took a seat.

"You can't stay here for a long time." He said to me but his eyes never left Em.

I raised an eyebrow and was about to challenge him but he stopped me.

"I don't care if you stay but the Argents stop by a lot and it isn't safe for you." He said, leaning back in his chair.

I nodded my head and agreed. It would be hard to leave Em but I wouldn't go far.

I looked over at Sean and noticed he was holding on to his stomach as if he was in some discomfort. His heartbeat was steady and I could see the wrappings underneath his shirt from the claw marks I had given him earlier.

"Sorry about those." I said as I gestured to his wounds.

"Don't worry about it." He chuckled. "You've got good aim."

"Unlike you." I smirked.

"Yeah, we'll if it wasn't for my aim, you would be dead right now." He laughed.

I could definitely feel myself regaining control of my body. My instincts were slipping away and I wasn't as territorial as before.

"True." I replied.

He leaned back further in his chair and I could tell he was relaxing. It was silent except for Em's slow breathing for a while.

"Derek." Sean said, breaking the silence. "You saw how deep the claw marks were right?"

I nodded my head, knowing where this conversation was heading.

"Can you sense any changes in her body?" He asked, getting straight to the point.

He wanted to know if she had been turned. I took a deep breath and looked at Em's sleeping form, focusing on anything that could be different about her.

"No, but I do sense the Alpha for some reason but other than that, she seems human."

He hummed his disapproval as if he wasn't convinced that she was still human.

"What?" I asked, wondering why he looked unsure about my answer.

"Since she wasn't bit, we used a wolfsbane ointment on the claw marks to kill off any of the Alpha's venom that could have entered her body. It won't stop a bite from turning someone but it has been known for stopping deep claw marks from infecting a person."

I felt my body tense, knowing how painful that is for a werewolf.

"She had a horrible reaction to it. She said that her skin felt like it was on fire when I placed it on the claw marks." Sean said with a pained looked on his face, as if he was remembering what pain he had caused Em earlier.

"That's why I felt the pain in my chest, arm, and back earlier. She was in pain from the wolfsbane." I said more to myself.

"You felt the same pain as Em did when the wolfsbane touched her skin?" Sean asked as his eyes widened and he leaned forward.

I shook my head, confused and wanting answers.

"Yes. I felt every second of it. I even felt every time the Alpha's claws ripped into her flesh." My voice was dripping with anger.

Sean leaned back in his chair and ran a hand through his hair, "That is incredible. I never thought in a million years I would ever witness this."

"Witness what?" I asked.

"Em is your mate isn't she?" He said as he motioned between Em and I.

I didn't really care for the word mate but I let it slide because in reality, I was sure she was.

"I think so." I said as I quickly stopped the smile that threatened to form on my face just thinking about the fact that Em and I were like that.

"You think so?" He chuckled. "You have got to be kidding me."

I shrugged my shoulders, not letting my excitement show.

"So do you know a lot about mates?" I asked, my curiosity buzzing.

"Somewhat. Do you not know much about it?"

"I know a few things but I never had a chance to learn more about it." I said in a low tone.

The reason why I didn't know much about werewolf mates was because of the fire. My parents were going to teach my sister and I about such things but the fire took that knowledge away from me.

"What do you need to know? I can help as much as I can." Sean replied.

"Would Em be able to feel my pain even though she is human?" I asked, referring to when Kate and the other man was torturing me.

"I am not sure but she shouldn't be able to feel it because she is human Then again, you never know with mates. Her body could be feeding off you and taking on the traits of a female werewolf mate even though she is human. Have you ever witnessed her body react to when you have been hurt?"

I clinched my teeth thinking about when the bald hunter had stabbed me.

"I was stabbed in front of her. Em had looked down at her stomach as the blade went into my stomach as if she had been stabbed as well."

Sean took a deep breath and crossed his arms. He looked like he was in deep thought.

"To be honest, I have never heard of this type of thing happening." He looked up at me and squinted his eyes. "Em was with you when you were stabbed? When did this happen?"

"I was captured." I mumbled, not sure if I should tell a hunter this story but I was pretty sure I could trust him.

"By hunters?"

"Yeah." I started. "They tortured me. They wanted to know who the Alpha was. I couldn't tell them so they used Em against me, to break me. They knew that I was together with Em. They told me that Em would be safe if I told her that I had committed all the recent murders."

"And you obeyed?" He interrupted.

"What choice did I have? They would of killed her if I didn't."

"That's not the hunters code." He said as his heartbeat began to increase with anger.

"These hunters don't follow any code." I could feel myself fighting a shift as I thought about them.

"Do you know their names?"

"Kate." I snapped, hating the way her name sounded.

"Kate?" Sean asked with wide eyes, "As in Kate Argent? Kate, as in the Kate you dated back when we were in high school?"

"Yes." I growled not wanting to think about it.

I could feel my body shaking as a shift nearly took me overboard. Anger ran hot in my veins.

"Derek..." Sean asked as he reached for his gun on his waist by instinct. He had noticed that I was fighting my werewolf side and it was winning.

"You need to calm down." He said slowly.

His plea fell upon deaf ears as my nails slowly shifted into claws.

My head snapped towards Em as she whimpered. She slowly opened her eyes a little bit.

"Derek." She whispered.

I slowly gained control of my body and calmed down as her fingers ran along my hand.

"Calm down." She whispered. "You wake me up every time you get worked up."

Sean and I both grinned at her little request.

"Sorry." I mumbled as I placed a soft kiss on her hand.

"It's ok." Her voice was so small and weak.

Within seconds, her heartbeat steadied and her eyes closed. She had fallen back into a deep sleep.

"You two are mates. There is no questioning it. She can sense when you're upset even when she is unconscious." Sean chuckled.

I smiled in reply knowing he was right.

"You look like you need some sleep." He suddenly said.

I nodded my head but I knew it wasn't an option for me. I wanted to stay awake to protect Em.

"I will watch her. You can rest a while. I'll wake you if anything new happens." He said and I knew he wasn't lying.

But at the same time I was worried.

"You can trust me." He said in a very serious manner.

I listened to his heartbeat and took a deep breath, realizing that I could trust him.

"Ok." I finally said. "I need to get cleaned off first."

I was still shirtless and dried blood covered some parts of my body.

"All right." He got up and went to his closet.

He grabbed a shirt and some long basketball pants.

"Here." He said as he tossed me the clean clothes.

"Thanks."

I made my way to the bathroom but stopped just in the doorway. I glanced back to Em and saw Sean leaning over slightly with his hand wrapped around her hand. I took a deep breath to suppress the animal instincts that wanted to rip his arm for even touching her.

I almost laughed at myself for being like this. It was almost aggravating how I was acting. I had never been the jealous type but after everything I has gone through in my lifetime, and almost losing Emily, it was only natural to protect what's mine.

YAY! :D Derek and Em are reunited! :D
