Chapter 63

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 63:

--Emily's POV:

Mr. Argent held on to my thrashing body tightly as I was unable to hold in another scream. His hand quickly covered my mouth so the neighbors wouldn't hear.

His arms hitched under my arms, keeping my back locked against his chest.

Sean held on to my face and told me to take deep breaths but it was impossible. The wolfsbane was burning my skin and it felt like he was holding a match to my flesh. They had already put the wolfsbane on my back and arm but now they were in the process of getting it on my chest.

"Please stop." I begged in between sobs.

"This is the last time Emily. Just hold on." Mr. Argent said behind me as soothing as he could be.

I had endured this torture at lease four times now but for some reason this time was the worst. Sean had tried to put the ointment on the claw marks himself but quickly realized he would need Mr. Argent's help to hold me down.

Sean looked me straight in the eyes as the burning only left slightly.

"I'm sorry Em."

He held my attention for a few seconds but I soon realized he was only doing it to distract me from what his hands were doing. I felt his hand touch the claw mark down my chest and I screamed out again. This time Sean stopped and shook his head while rubbing the sweat off his forehead with his sleeve. He stood up and looked at Mr. Argent.

They exchanged glances and Sean left the room only to return seconds later. He had a small cloth in one of his hands and I immediately knew what it was for. Sean kneeled down so he was at my eye level. Mr. Argents grasp on me loosened as well.

"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to put this on you." He said in a saddened tone.

"It's ok." I whispered as he lifted his hands up to my head and wrapped the cloth around my mouth so my screams would be muffled.

Sean had told me that a few of his neighbors had heard screaming and were questioning him. He told them that he had been watching a movie a little to loud and that he would keep it down next time.

I felt Mr. Argents arms wrap tightly around me once again as Sean dipped his fingers into the container one last time.

Hot tears streamed down my face as the pain hit me like a bus. The pain the Alpha had inflicted on me was nothing compared to this.

After what felt like hours, Mr. Argent slowly let go of me and let me lean against his chest, panting and gasping for air. Tears still streamed down my cheek and the pain had only subsided slightly. Sean gently removed the cloth from around my head as well. Mr. Argent's arms wrapped around me in a fatherly matter as he tried to comfort me. Sean quickly gathered everything he had used and left the room but returned very soon after.

I was fighting unconsciousness and I knew I wouldn't last much longer.

"She is going to pass out." Mr. Argent warned.

I could hear his chest hum underneath me as he talked to Sean but I could no longer understand what they were saying. My hearing was stifled and soon everything went silent.

I could feel two arms move underneath me and Mr. Argent help him move me up. I knew it was Sean who now had me. He carried me bridal style and I could see his mouth moving as he tried to speak to me but I could no longer hear him. My vision blurred as he lay me down on the bed.

"It hurts so bad." I managed to mumble.

I couldn't even hear myself talk.

Sean said something in reply but I didn't understand. He must of known that I didn't understand because he just laid his hand on my shoulder and ran his thumb over my skin just how Derek would when he would spend the night.

I could feel my tears coming as I thought about Derek. He was still chained to that wall and being tortured by those horrible people. I missed him so much. My heart clinched and I wished he were here to ease the pain. I could feel myself drowning in sadness and I wanted nothing more than to see Derek walk through that door. I cried out as my heart clinched once again and Sean held my hand tighter.

It took a while but as soon as my eyes closed I fell into a deep unconscious state.

--Derek's POV:

Scott and I ran through the forest as fast as we could. I hated how my body was weakened from the torture I had endured for so long. I wasn't as fast and as strong as I should be right now. I still couldn't shift back to my human form either. My body simply just wouldn't allow it until I found Em.

Scott led the way towards a river and stopped at the top of a hill. I could smell the copper scent that almost made me sick. We ran down the hill and I was met by my worst fear. Scott slowly picked up the torn fabric from clothes and I could smell Emily's blood all over the area.

We were both silent as we both tried to make sense of what had happened here. Scott stayed squatting down, holding a piece of Emily's clothes in his hands. I could hear his heart in his chest beginning to rise as he clutched the fabric between his clawed fingers.

"I don't know what to do." He whispered.

I took a few steps forward and stopped as I noticed a sharp pain in my back. I growled as the pain increased because I knew my back wasn't hurting from any wound the hunters had inflicted on me.

"Emily." I breathed.

"What?" Scott said as he stood up to face me.

"I can sense her. She is in pain."

"What the hell are you talking about? That is the second time you said you could sense her." Scott said, looking frustrated and confused, "Why can't I feel her too? I'm her brother."

Because she is my soul mate, I thought to myself.

"I can't explain right now." I said as I walked past him.

Something caught my eye as I looked down at the ground. It glistened in the leaves below us.

I bent down to pick up the metal object and rolled it in my hand.

"What is it?" Scott asked.

"A bullet shell. Do you smell that?" I said as I held the bullet shell out for him to take.

He took it in his hand and looked at it carefully. He cringed as he saw the blood on it but froze as the scent hit him.

"The Alpha's blood." He said to himself.

"Correct."

"The hunters were here too?" He asked.

I turned and forced myself to focus on any scent but Emily's blood. It was extremely hard for me to not focus on it because of it being her blood. I knew it was hard for Scott to as well.

It took a few seconds but I was able to pinpoint three other scents. I took in a deep breath as I felt a pain on my arm just how the pain was on my back a few moments before.

She was still in pain and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. My fingers clinched into tight fists as the pain receded. I shook my head quickly and closed my eyes as I tried to zero in on the three new scents surrounding me.

I took a deep breath and my eyes snapped open as I zeroed in on one of the scents in particular. It was the officer’s scent that was supposed to be protecting Emily. Sean. I growled as I thought about him but pushed back my feelings as I took in the new information.

I needed to follow his scent. I didn't bother telling Scott what I just found out as I threw myself through the forest towards his trail. How Scott hadn't realized it was the Officer's scent baffled me. It probably had to do with the fact that he was never home and also that he was a young werewolf. His senses were not at their peak like mine were.

I could hear Scott yelling after me but my animal instincts had already kicked in. I was so close to finding her. I let out a grunt as pain shot through my chest. This time the pain was much worse but only pushed me to go faster. I stopped dead in my tracks as I heard a scream echoed through the forest. It was a scream that I could only hear.

Emily's scream.

Yet her scream didn't sound right. Something was off about it. My wolf side took over and I let out a loud and very territorial howl. My feet pounded the earth as I crashed through the forest towards his scent and the scream.

Scott had no chance at keeping up with me now. I soon lost him and I knew he wouldn't find me for a while.

I silently hoped that Sean wouldn't put up a fight because he would most likely end up dead if he tried to keep me from her. I couldn't control myself anymore.

Em was so close; I could feel it in every inch of my body.

--Sean's POV:

I told my goodbyes to Mr. Argent and thanked him for the help.

I sighed as I closed the door and went into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. It was going to be a long night.

I walked in to my room and saw Em laying on her back with her small hands clutching the sheets at her sides. Her long brown hair lay beside her head in long waves. She was sweating and I was sure she had a fever. I sat by her bedside as she silently cried out in her sleep. I was pretty sure she wouldn't wake up for a very long time now.

The kind of reaction she had to the wolfsbane tonight scared the crap out of me. There was a very good chance that the Alpha's venom had done its job but then again I wasn't sure. If she has been turned, she would have already been healed by now. I was so confused.

Yet the fact that she hadn't healed yet was the only thing keeping Mr. Argent from taking her down. He had already made it clear that if she turned, that things would be very bad for her. Of course, I would never let anything happen to her. I wouldn't let them hurt her.

I took a sip of my coffee and leaned back in my chair, trying to relax.

Emily took in a sharp breath and held on to the clothes covering the claw marks down her chest. I placed my coffee on the nightstand and reached out to grab her hand. I gently moved her hand back to her side and sighed. Her body twitched as pain shot through it every few seconds.

All the sudden her body shook violently and she let out a piercing scream that made my heart stop.

It didn't sound human.

I quickly placed my hand over her mouth as she continued to scream out. This time though my hand muffled her screams. She kept shaking violently so I wrapped my arms around her to keep her from thrashing around and hurting herself further on accident.

"No! Stop!" She yelled through my fingers as she kicked and struggled to get out of my grasp.

She must be dreaming.

"Em!" I yelled. "Stop! It's ok!"

She sobbed as she continued to fight me. She looked as if she was trying to get away from something or someone in her dream. The Alpha. I needed to wake her up.

"Em!" I yelled again, this time I shook her, trying to wake her from her nightmare.

Thankfully I must have gotten somewhat through to her because she slowly began to calm down. Her breathing was so heavy and I could feel her heartbeat against her skin. She still was shaking and mumbling something in her sleep but she was calming down nevertheless. That's when I noticed her arms had wrapped around me in the process of trying to get me off.

"Sean?" I heard her small voice ask.

"It's ok. It was just a dream."

She mumbled something but I couldn't understand her.

Her hands slowly fell from around me and I knew she had fallen unconscious once again.

That's when I heard a very loud and drawn out howl coming from outside. I carefully slipped away from her and rushed to the window, looking out only to be met by nothing. The howl had come from far in the forest but it didn't sound good. It definitely was a werewolf.

I stared wide-eyed at Emily as realization hit me. That inhuman scream was a calling for help that she was in danger. I had heard about it from some hunters a while back. And if it was true, someone was coming to answer the call.

I quickly ran to my closet and flung the doors open. I knelt down and pulled a large black box from the floor that held all my guns. I hadn't used them in forever because they were strictly used for hunting werewolves and nothing else so I had no use for them until now.

I quickly grabbed the small revolver and pulled up my jeans. I shoved it into the side of my shoe underneath my jeans and pulled my pant leg down so it was concealed. I always had this one as my backup gun when I used to go hunting. I pulled out my other gun and placed it in my waistband. I took a deep breath and shoved the box back into the closet, shutting the door as I finished.

I walked into the living room and made sure the front door was locked, which it was. I didn't hear anything else and I began to think I was just being over suspicious.

I made my way back to my room and sat back down next to Emily's bedside. She was breathing heavily still and she jolted in her sleep as I slipped her hand into mine, hoping that it would give her some comfort.

I sat there for a while and soon realized it was a false alarm. There was no way she could have sent out a call if she wasn't a werewolf. What was I thinking? I needed some sleep. I was making irrational decisions that could cost us a lot of pain if I didn't calm down.

My eyes became heavy as I started to relax and lean back in my chair. Emily's hand squeezed tightly around my hand, making me look up at her. Her breathing had slowed down and she looked like she was finally getting the rest she so desperately needed.

My head nodded and I knew I wouldn't last long. I soon fell asleep.

*****

My eyes snapped open as I heard something. I glanced around the room and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Em's slow breathing was the only thing I could hear. That's when I heard a small creak on a board in the living room. I knew exactly where every creak was in this entire apartment so I knew exactly where they were. I carefully and silently got up, my gun professionally held in my hand. I took slow and cautious steps towards my bedroom door, but I heard nothing but silence in the rest of the apartment. I slowly closed the bedroom door behind me leaving me in almost complete darkness. I took a deep but silent breath before moving out further into the living room, automatically pointing my gun at exactly where the intruder should be. It was very dark in the room but I could tell there was no one here.

I relaxed slightly, realizing no one was there. My calm attitude quickly changed as two arms wrapped around me and threw me against the wall. I felt their claws swipe down my left upper side of my chest before I could even see them. I quickly pulled my gun to their stomach and in a flash they were gone.

They had the advantage right now because it was almost pitch black. If I could just get to the light-switch by the front door I would be able to put up a better fight. I felt the blood dropping down my chest to my abdomen. His claws had cut pretty deep.

I looked around the dark room as best I could and didn't see the werewolf. I moved along the wall towards the front door so that he couldn't sneak up behind me. I was just in arms reach of the light-switch as I felt a crushing blow to my stomach. The blow knocked my gun from my hands and it fell to the ground with a loud thud. Rule number one of hunting, is to never get too close to a werewolf. A punch from one of them is just as bad as getting hit by a sledgehammer.

I crumpled to the ground from the blow but he grabbed my neck before I could fully hit the ground. He lifted me up by my neck against the wall and I could feel the air being taken from my body. I could see his glowing, feral eyes staring back at me. They were full of anger and rage as he held up his other arm, revealing his long, razor sharp claws. I frantically reached into my pocket and grabbed my pocketknife I always carried with me.

I opened it as fast as I could and plunged the blade straight down into his shoulder. He howled out in pain and released me immediately. I fell to my feet and stumbled a little, still weak from the blow to my stomach.

The werewolf fell back a little but caught himself. I didn't give him another chance to recover as I reached down to pull out my revolver from my pant leg. A loud shot rang out and he was on the ground. He rolled over on to his back in pain as the wolfsbane bullet ran through his system. The wolfsbane wouldn't kill him but this next bullet would.

I made my way to him so I was standing over him. I had my gun trained at his head and I was glad I couldn't see his face. I didn't want to kill him but I had no choice. My job was to protect Emily at all costs. I put my finger on the trigger but stopped as light flooded the room. My head snapped towards my bedroom and I could see that the door was open but I couldn't see anything else as the werewolf took advantage of the distraction and swiped his claws across my stomach. I let out a grunt as the pain hit me but that was the last straw. I pulled the trigger, hitting him in he shoulder, rendering him useless for a few moments. I didn’t even have enough time to look back down at the intruder.

This next bullet was for his heart. He couldn't move as the wolfsbane ran through his veins and now was my chance. My finger held on to the trigger and slowly began to pull it, without even looking.

"No! Stop!" I heard a feminine scream from my bedrooms doorway making me jump slightly.

It was already too late though. A loud shot rang out and was met by complete silence afterwards.
