Chapter 55

I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 55:

--Emily's POV:

Ok, so maybe walking all the way to Derek's apartment wasn't the best idea. I had been walking for about thirty minuets along side the paved road and I still wasn't even half way there. If only I had a car, I thought to myself. Mom had the car because she was working all day, as usual.

Sighing happily, I stopped as I saw the old coffee shop coming into view not far ahead. It was the place Derek and I had first met. It was where this whole crazy journey had all started. In a funny way, I felt the need to thank Stiles and Scott for locking me in the Jeep that morning because if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been walking home and I wouldn't of went to that coffee shop. I would of never met Derek if it wasn't for them two. I laughed lightly at the thought.

As I passed the coffee shop, I remembered seeing Derek for the first time and thinking how handsome he was. His jet-black hair, those piercing green eyes, and that perfect white smile. I missed him and couldn't wait for what was in store for today.

I felt another ping in my chest and winced slightly. The pain was getting slightly worse the more I walked towards Derek's apartment. Maybe I should go to the doctor and get it checked out tomorrow. Especially since I didn’t know why I was experiencing this odd pain, it made me worry more about it. For now, I pushed the worry back and focused on getting to Derek’s apartment. Maybe he could take a look at me and figure out what was wrong with me when I got there.

About another twenty minuets later I was finally rounding the corner and I could see his apartment complex coming up. The old building looked just as I remembered it. Rust covered one side of the building but the rest of the building was kept up pretty nicely.

I smiled as the anxiety sunk in. I wondered if he would be mad that I showed up without letting him know. I shook the thought from my mind, knowing he couldn't stay mad at me for long.

The loose gravel crunched underneath my feet as I walked along the parking lot to the building in front of me. Searching the almost vacant parking lot I couldn't help but feel disappointed as I noticed Derek's Camaro was no where to be seen. The only cars that occupied the parking lot were two smaller looking cars, a large SUV, and some old car I didn't know the name of. I decided to try Derek's apartment anyway even though his car wasn't here.

Walking up the stairs along side the building, I started feeling on edge. The metal staircase moaned and screeched as I took each step. As I got to the top step, I peeked around the corner but didn't see anyone.

I walked down the balcony until I reached Derek's apartment door. I took a deep breath and raised my hand to the door to knock but stopped as I noticed something. As I looked at the door, I realized that it was already open. The door was barely cracked open but I could still tell it wasn't closed.

I froze, trying to decided what I should do but the curiously got the best of me. I slowly pushed the door open with my fingertips and stood in the doorway.

"Derek?" I said quietly.

My chest tightened and the light pain went to my side, making me clutch my side. The feeling went away soon after as I stared into the pitch black apartment.

I left the door open so there was still some light as I took a few steps inside the dark apartment. As I walked in, the closed windows let some light in, making the apartment look eerie and creepy.

"Derek?" I repeated, hoping he would answer.

There was no answer as I walked into the living room. It was freezing in here and I could barely see dust flying all around me. It looked like Derek hadn't been here in days.

I walked over to the couch and ran my hang along the fabric as my eyes searched the room around me. My eyes were beginning to adjust to the darkness and I could see more of the furniture around me. I jumped as I heard shuffling coming from Derek's bedroom.

"Derek, it's me. Em." I said a little louder. My voice was shaky and so was my body.

I felt uneasy as the shuffling stopped, as if whoever was in there had heard me. I slowly took cautious steps towards Derek's bedroom. My heart was pounding against my chest as my breathing was coming out in deep, long strides.

I leaned with my back against the wall next to his bedroom and took slow, deep breaths. I decided to count to three in my head. I closed my eyes tightly and began counting.

‘One.’

‘Two.’

‘Three.’

I jumped in to the doorway and was only met by silence. It was that kind of silence in scary movies where you are screaming at the protagonist to run but they’re too stupid to realize it. My body was trembling as I took one step forward, hoping that Derek was just playing a sick game with me. I was hoping at any moment he would jump out and scare me. I would scream and be mad at him for a few seconds then we would laugh about it later.

If only I had known how wrong I was.

I didn't have time to comprehend what was happening as I was thrown to the ground below me feet. My body hit the ground with a sickening thud as the air was forced out of my lungs. A soft scream escaped my lips as I stared at a figure standing above me. The figure looked to be an older man but that was all I had time to notice before he quickly reached down and grabbed the front of my jacket, pulling me upward and dragging me across the room.

I kicked at him and struggled as they dragged me to the bed. I was thrown with great force onto the bed as my feet dangled over the edge of the bed. I immediately tried to get up but my attacker was on top of me in seconds. I let out a scream as their hand went straight across my face, making my flesh burn and sting from the impact. I stared up at the figure in shock but I still struggled to get away from them. I swung my fist at them, but he easily caught it and twisted my wrist painfully above my head making me let out a silent scream. Soon after, my other hand was above my head and their free hand went across my face once again. This time their hand landed on my other cheek with a lot more force than the first time. I knew that one was going to leave a nasty mark judging by the pain and the sudden swelling of my cheek.

"Don't struggle." I heard the man growl.

His voice was low and extremely dominating. I could detect a slight foreign accent coming from his voice as he repeated himself.

"Are you Emily McCall?" He asked in a flat tone as if he was a robot.

I stared up at him on shock, not knowing whether I should answer him or not.

His grip on my wrists tightened and he pulled me up to my feet. Before I could think, he twisted my arms behind my back painfully, making me cry out in pain. I could hear him doing something behind me but I couldn’t see him. I felt a rough rope being tied around my wrists and I could feel the tears finally beginning to fall from my eyes. I hadn't shed a single tear this entire time until now just because I hadn't had time to think until now.

The man pushed me to the ground so I was on my knees. I whimpered as he walked in front of me. I could only look down and watch his feet shuffle in front of me. I jumped as his had roughly took my chin and jerked it up towards him. My neck was straining from the angle it was being stretched. His rough fingers dug into my already sore cheeks. I silently wished that Derek would bust through the door at any second and save me but if he wasn't here by now, I was sure he wasn't going to come.

"What do you want from me? Where's Derek?" I asked, my voice coming out hoarse.

The man only chuckled and let go of my chin. My neck bent down trying to relax the muscles so I was now looking at the floor. My eyes followed up the man’s body until they reached his eyes. He had this blank look in his eyes, like the fact that he was hurting me didn't affect him at all.

Was this one of the people that attacked Derek and I had just been here at the wrong time and wrong time? Derek wasn’t here anymore. If this was one of the men that attacked Derek those two times then I knew Derek was in trouble.

"Where's Derek?" I asked, a little more demanding this time.

He smiled as he shushed me. He reached back behind him and appeared to be getting something out of his back pocket.

My eyes widened as I saw his hand flying towards me with a cloth clutched in between his fingers. Everything seemed to slow down until I felt the impact against my face. The force of it knocked me onto my side and I felt myself falling into unconsciousness as what ever poison was on the cloth took its effect on me. His other hand reached behind my head as he kneeled over me with the cloth placed against my mouth and nose, forcing me to breath in whatever toxin was on it.

"Derek..." I whispered weakly.

The cruel man's laughter filled my ears as darkness finally took me.

I hate how short this chapter is :/ It was supposed to be longer. I apologize for that but it will be worth it in the end, I promise!

What do you guys think about the chapter? I hated writing Em getting hurt :(
