Chapter 44

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 44:

--Emily's POV:

I sat on my bed laughing at Allison. I had just pretty much poured my heart out about Derek. She knew everything except for that he is a wanted criminal. I figured what’s the crime in letting her know? She was practically my best friend now and you can only keep a secret like that for so long. It only made me happier that she was so excited about everything I had told her.

"You guys sound so cute!" She chuckled.

"Yeah." I mumbled while feeling a blush creep on to my face.

"So when do I get to meet this Derek?" She asked as she leaned back on to her bed.

-Kate's POV:

Derek? I thought in my head as I leaned against the wall next to Allison's room. I had been eavesdropping on their entire conversation about Derek and let me tell you, this is going to be a lot more fun then I thought it would be. If she was speaking about my Derek then things are going to get interesting.

I quickly stepped into the doorway and Allison looked up at me and smiled while Emily quickly shut up.

"Kate!"

"Hello my favorite niece." I said as I walked into the room.

"And who is this beautiful young women?" I asked as I turned towards Emily, already knowing her name.

"This is my friend Em!" Allison chirped.

"Em, this is my aunt Kate, but she is more like my older sister then anything." Allison finished with a big smile.

"Nice to meet you!" Em said in a very confident tone.

She had heart, I will give that to her.

"Nice to meet you as well." I said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"So I couldn't help but notice before I walked in, you two were talking about my favorite topic." I said while smiling.

"Boys, I think it was?"

Allison laughed but I couldn't help but notice that Emily tensed up for a mere second.

Gotcha, I smirked.

"Yup, we were just talked about Em's boyfriend." Allison said while crossing her legs and motioning to a very uncomfortable Emily sitting next to her.

"Oh tell me everything!" I said while giving Emily a warm smile.

I was acting like a high school girl all over again but of course it was all for show.

"What's the lucky guys name?" I asked.

"Derek." She spoke while smiling slightly.

I smiled knowing that she really doesn't know what she has gotten herself into.

"Now this isn't the Derek that the cops are looking for is it?" I chuckled making it sound like a joke.

She shifted in her spot and shook a little. She opened her mouth to speak but a sudden knock on the door interrupted us and I could see her visually relieved.

Officer Sean stood in the door leaning against the doorframe with his arms folded across his muscular chest and my brother behind him. They both were looking at me with a grumpy face.

"Dinners ready." Chris said in a serious tone as he turned his attention to the two girls behind me.

Both Emily and Allison got up and passed Chris and Sean.

Sean gave Emily a look and she nodded her head then followed Allison downstairs. Sean looked up at me one last time before following right behind Emily, leaving just my brother and I.

"Kate. You know better." Chris said as he entered the room.

"What? I was just having some bonding time." I said crossing my arms and giving him a fake smile while sitting down on Allison’s bed.

"We don't know anything yet so don't bother her." He said completely ignoring my last statement.

"Well if you can't put one and two together you’re an idiot." I laughed as I got up.

"What did Sean tell you about her?" I asked while fiddling with some of the items on Allison's desk.

My brother sighed and leaned against the wall.

"She is under protective custody. He can't say who is after her but he gave off hints as to who it is. I don’t think he realized everything he was saying."

Poor Sean, the kid probably didn’t even realize he was giving my brother so much information. My brother was always the best at collecting information like that.

"Derek Hale?" I flat out asked with a smirk.

Chris looked shocked then squinted his eyes at me.

"How did you know?"

"Well I overheard them talking and the girl pretty much told me herself." My voice sounding like venom.

"Her name is Emily and you do not know that. Nothing is for sure. Hale wouldn't go after someone like her and you know it."

I looked at him pissed, "She said his name and I recognize that Sean kid from a while back. Why else would he be doing this job protecting some no body girl?"

I decided to keep the fact to myself that she was extremely uncomfortable when I asked if he was the same Derek as the fugitive Derek. I could use that information to my benefit.

"There is not only one Derek in the world. This is your last warning. Stay away from her Kate. We will look into this more later."

I let out a large puff of air and walked past him to leave but before I could leave he grabbed my upper arm.

"I'm serious Kate, leave her alone. Even if she is involved with Derek she is to young for us to be able to act on it. The only thing we can do is talk to her about it."

His blue eyes held fire in them while he stared into my own eyes.

"Ok." I spat while yanking my hand out of his grasp.

My idiot brother always follows the hunters code but that is not the case with me. If you want to get something done then you have to do it your own way. I knew exactly what I was going to do about this. The stupid girl will wish she never met Derek.

*****

--Emily's POV:

"Dinner was amazing. Thank you so much for inviting us." I said as I hugged Allison goodbye.

"No problem! We will have to do it again soon. See you later and nice to meet you Officer Sean."

"Yeah." I said smiling while Sean waved goodbye to Allison and her parents.

Dinner actually was really uncomfortable. Kate kept asking me all these questions and I felt like I was in the spot light all night. Thankfully Mr. Argent and Sean were there to back me up. They kept on changing the subject every time she spoke just to shut her up. It's not that I didn't like Kate because she hadn't done anything to me for me not to like her. She just was extremely curious and it bothered me.

Sean placed his hand on my lower back for a second to lead me out to his car. I smiled at him when he opened the car door once again for me.

He got in the car shortly after and started it up.

"That went better then expected." Sean said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah. I was scared they were going to freak out about you." I chuckled.

Sean laughed in reply.

"So you know Allison's parents?"

"Yeah. I used to work with Allison's father a while back."

"Oh." Was all I said, my curiosity cured already.

"Sorry about Kate harassing you like that. She had no right asking you questions about him." He said after a few seconds of silence.

I looked at him in shock, "Oh, she wasn't harnessing me. How did you know she was talking to me about him though?"

For some reason I referred to Derek as him when I talked to Sean and so did he. It was like a mutual code only between us.

"We were coming upstairs to tell you guys that dinner was ready and we overheard some of the conversation. Looks like I got there just in time as well."

I took a deep breath and slumped down slightly in my seat.

"Yeah." I breathed.

"You ok?" Sean asked as he glanced over at me concerned.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I just didn't think I would be put on the spot like that."

"Yeah. It's ok now though. It won't be happening again." Sean said and I noticed his grip on the steering wheel tighten slightly.

"So how did she know it was Derek in the first place?" I asked.

"Kate is extremely smart. At least that is what I have heard. Even with little information she was able to figure it out."

"So is that a problem, like for you?"

"Not at all. As long as she keeps her distance. I'm your protector from him as well as any other person that intends to cause you harm, both physically and mentally. And that’s not only because it’s my job but because I care about you." Sean said as he smiled slightly at me.

I couldn't help but smile back at him.

"Thank you." I replied as I relaxed.

Sean's words actually made me feel a lot better because I knew he was telling the truth. He wouldn't let anything happen to me. I was grateful to have him around; he was like another older brother.

We pulled up to my house and I sighed.  I was happy to see home and to be home. I was exhausted from tonight and all I wanted was my bed, and well I wanted Derek too but I knew that wasn't exactly a reasonable request. I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell Derek about Kate yet but I felt like I needed to eventually tell him just so he could watch out for her. I didn't trust her.

Sean walked me to the door and waited for me to get the keys out. As I found the keys and opened the door he looked at me funny.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you mind if I do a sweep of the house just in case? We have been gone almost all day and I just want to be sure." He said with a serious expression on his face.

"Sure." I said before I could think.

As he moved past me the first place he went strait upstairs. I could feel my entire body freeze up. I was terrified that Derek had made an unexpected visit and Sean would find him.

I quickly reached into my pocket and snatch my phone out of it. Flipping it open I quickly sent a text to Derek asking where he was.

To my surprise he texted back a few seconds later saying that he was out and if I was ok. I quickly texted him back saying I was ok and home. I smiled as Sean made his way back down the stairs shortly after.

"All clear. Texting Allison?" He asked as he made his way over to the door and me.

"Yup." I lied.

"Well are you..."

"I will be ok for the tonight." I interrupted, finishing his sentence and rolling my eyes at him.

Sean chuckled and opened the front door.

"Just making sure. See you tomorrow Em."

"Bye." I said as I closed the door behind him.

I sighed as I leaned against the front door but a sudden noise had me snapping my head towards upstairs.

Derek hadn't texted me back so maybe it was him. I quickly dropped my bag on the kitchen table and ran up the stairs not caring how much noise I made along the way.

I turned around the corner and groaned in frustration as I saw Scott's light turned on. Freaking Scott, getting my hopes up like that.

I walked to his room and found him and Stiles sitting on the ground. I looked at them like they were crazy.

"What are you guys doing?"

Scott looked up at me and his face went pale.

"Were you at Allison's?" He asked and his face contorted to anger.

"Yeah." I mumbled.

I didn't think I would feel this guilty about going over to my brothers ex girlfriends house.

He looked pissed off and stood up.

"Wait how did you know?" I asked as he pushed past me and left the room leaving just Stiles and I.

Stiles looked at me apologetically.

"Gez. He is in a bad mood." I said as I sat down next to Stiles.

"It's cause of the full moons so close." Stiles mumbled while shifting quickly in his spot on the floor.

"What?" I asked, not really hearing him clearly.

"Nothing. He is just upset because..." He paused and smiled at me like an idiot.

That’s when I noticed the bottle in his hand.

"Stiles!" I yelled while grabbing the bottle of alcohol out of his hands.

"No!" He wined.

"Are you guys drinking because of Allison?" I snapped.

"No. Yes. Maybe. I don't know. I think I was trying to get Scott to forget Elizabeth."

I rolled my eyes and grinned at Stiles.

"Well first off its Allison, not Elizabeth. And second off it didn't work now did it?"

Stiles stared at me like I was the most interesting thing he had even seen in his life. He was obviously way past drunk. He tried to reach for the bottle again but failed.

"No, you already had enough." I chuckled.

"Well finish at least it." He was stumbling all over his words and I couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Stiles you know I don't really drink." I said trying to stand up.

Stiles grabbed my arm and gave me his best puppy dog face, yet due to the fact that he was drunk, he looked more like he was constipated.

"Stiles let go. You need to sleep it off." I laughed at him, easily shaking him off me.

"Why?"

"Because you are drunk." I said standing up completely.

"Why?" Stiles asked as he sat on the ground staring up at me.

"Because I said so." I said placing a finger inches away from his lips, shushing him.

It worked as he began going cross-eyed so he could see my finger in front of his face. I sighed. At least it had shut him up.

It took about an hour for me to get Stiles to be quiet and get him in bed. When he finally was in bed, he was out like a light.

I decided it was time for me to go to bed as well. I would talk to Scott about Allison later.
