I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie and Sean because I created the them.

Chapter 41:

I couldn't move as I stared down at my phone. I quickly shook myself and answered it.

"Derek?" I answered with my voice was shaking.

"Em?"

Derek's voice made my heart flutter and I felt like I was sinking, in a good way.

"Where have you been? The cops are looking for you and they have been telling me things. Is it true? I mean, don't tell me details. Just say yes or no if you really did it. Oh my gosh, if I get caught on the phone with you, will I go to jail?"

I was freaking out and my mind was working a million times an hour. I wanted answers and I was tired of waiting for them.

"Em." Derek said patiently. "I'm coming to see you."

"Wait! No! I'm under protective custody and if they see you, they will kill you! Well maybe not literally kill you, but you get what I mean." I said in a panic.

I started to run up the stairs so I could be farther away from Sean outside. I didn't want him hearing any of this conversation and knowing him, he would hear it if I wasn't too careful.

There was silence on the other line and I could tell that something was wrong. Not to mention, something about Derek's voice was off and I knew it.

"Derek please. I will meet you somewhere but please, don't come." I begged, reaching for my door handle and swinging it open.

"To late." Derek chuckled.

As I looked up a near scream almost passed my lips. There in the middle of my room stood Derek. In the process of Derek scaring the living crap out of me, I had dropped my phone, sending it to the ground and I'm pretty sure it had broken.

I stood there at my door staring at Derek with my mouth wide open. I was in shock and didn't know what to do. He looked like he had been hit by a bus and looked like he hadn't slept in days. His clothes were slightly wrinkled and I could see some dirt on his shirt.

"Derek." I murmured, feeling the tears forming in my eyes.

Within seconds Derek was in front of me. His warm fingers gentle running across my bare cheek, whipping away my fresh tears.

"Don't." He whispered and I couldn't help but let a small smile creep on to my face.

It was becoming a habit of crying and Derek telling me, 'don't' every time. To be honest I loved when he said it. It was like our thing.

His hand cupped my cheek and he brought me closer to him. His chest was against my own.

Derek brought his head closer to mine and I knew what was about to happen but I had to stop it for now. I quickly turned my head and Derek looked at me confused.

"I'm sorry, I just need some,"

"Answers." He interrupted.

I nodded my head. "Did you do it?"

Wow Em, way to cut to the chase. I looked into Derek's eyes and couldn't help but feel like I was getting lost in them.

"No. I didn't do any of it. I was set up." He answered in a dangerous tone. His fingers clenched into tight fists and for the first time ever, I felt a slight fear of him. His eyes were so dark and angry and I knew I needed to calm him down quickly.

I gently placed my hand on his cheek and ran my thumb across his skin. He leaned into my hand I knew he was already calming down. I placed my free hand on his chest and stood on my toes. I carefully pushed his face so he was facing me.

Without giving him any excuse or time to talk, I placed my lips on his. He returned the kiss without hesitation and placed his hands on my waist.

After a few seconds Derek pulled away slowly and stared at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"That's all you wanted to know?" He asked.

"That's all I needed to know." I said with a smirk.

Derek returned my smile and pulled me into his arms. His muscled arms wrapping around my thin frame. I could feel his heart beating against my body and I couldn't help but notice something was off. My hand ran up his chest and I noticed something under neither his shirt. As I pressed on whatever was under his shirt, Derek winced.

"Derek, your hurt?" I asked.

Derek pulled away and looked down at me with a sad expression planted on his face.

"Yes. I'm ok though."

"Let me see it please." I asked, as I pulled away from him further. I grabbed his hand but as I pulled him to my bed he stumbled slightly. I glared at him knowing he had lied about being ok.

I carefully helped him to my bed and sat him down on the edge.

"Take it off." I demanded pointing at his grey shirt.

Derek just looked amused and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

"Derek." I warned, rolling my eyes at him.

He reached to pull his shirt off but I could tell it hurt him to move his arms like that. I reached out and helped him finish taking it off, careful not to hurt him anymore.

Derek didn't look at me as he sat on my bed shirtless. I stared at his chest, where a large bandage covered the areas around his heart. Without saying anything I carefully began unwrapping it but before I could finish Derek's hand snatched my wrist, preventing me from seeing the wound right away. His green eyes bore into my own and his face was filled with worry.

"Before you see it, its not as bad as it looks."

I shook my head and he released my wrist from his grasp. He took a deep breath and leaned back a little so I could get a better look at it.

As I revealed the wound, I couldn't help but gasp. It didn't look fresh but it was definitely inflicted recently.

"How did this happen?" I asked, my voice low, running my finger tips next to the skin around the wound.

"Same as before. I was attacked." He said, while looking at the ground in front of us.

I knew he was lying and I was about to call him out on it but he interrupted me with a low growl. His hand moved to his chest and his teeth were gritted together.

"When is the last time you cleaned it out?" I asked as I held on to his shoulder, trying to comfort him.

"It's been a while, I haven't had access to anything that I can clean it out with due to the fact that I'm a wanted criminal." He said, trying to be funny.

I frowned at him.

"That isn't funny. Can you get up?"

"I think so. Why?"

"I need you to get in my bathroom. I'm going to clean it out." I said, swallowing hard.

I wasn't exactly happy about having to clean out the wound but it had to be done. I carefully helped Derek to my bathroom and sat him down on the toilet, with the seat down.

I grabbed all of the first aid supplies from under neither my sink and looked at Derek with a nervous face.

"You sure you want to do this?" He asked with a smile while pointing out my sudden change of attitude.

"Yup. How hard could it be?"

--Derek's POV:

The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was still painful nonetheless. I couldn't help but laugh a little at Em's face as she gently pressed gauze onto my wound. She looked so cute when she was focused. And yes, I Derek just said the word cute.

A groan escaped my lips as she whipped more antibiotics onto the wound and Em looked up at me.

"Still ok?" She asked.

"Yes." I said while leaning my head against the wall.

Thankfully my body had healed slightly since the night the Alpha had attacked me. I wasn't able to heal much at my house and I had never been so close to death. The only thing that kept me alive was Em. That one single text she sent me, letting me know that she still wanted to talk to me and wanted to know the truth. The fact that she wasn't scared or hated me was the reason I am still alive. I couldn't live with out her and when I saw her standing in the doorway staring at me just a few minuets ago, I knew I was right about everything. I wasn't sure about Em being my soul mate at first but I was one hundred percent sure now. It is said that one can't heal if they are severally injured without their soul mate, but when Em walked into the room I could feel my body allowing itself to heal. I was a hundred times better by the time she was in my arms. In a few days I would be completely healed.

"All right! All done." Emily said as she wiped the brim of sweat off her forehead with her arm.

A smile spread across my lips as I looked at her. Before I could say anything, her lips were against my own and I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer to me. Our kiss deepened as she leaned into me but she jerked away before things could go further.

"Sorry. I just don't want to touch your wound. My chest got pretty close to it and I would rather not have to clean it out again, unless necessary." She said with a sweet smile but yet her face was full of worry.

"Thank you." I chuckled.

She leaned over and planted a short kiss on my lips and smiled. Her smile didn't last long as she looked like she was in deep thought.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I need to take a shower real quick. I wouldn't have to if I hadn't just gone running."

I cocked my head to the side and looked at her funny. Why was she upset about taking a shower?

"I'm just scared to leave you. I'm scared that you are going to be gone when I come back." She said in a low whisper, while turning her gaze to the floor.

"Em." I said as I lifted her chin up to look at me. "I'm not going anywhere. If you want, you can leave the bathroom door open so you can check to see if I'm still here."

"Promise not to look in the bathroom while I'm showering?" She teased as she cheered up.

"Maybe." I said with a sly grin.

"Ok." She said as her laughter filled my ears. I had missed that sound.

"Go." I said, while getting up and waking out of the bathroom.

Lying down on Em's bed, I felt my entire body relax as the soft fabric gave in below me. Em's scent was everywhere and it was like I was being consumed by it. I closed my eyes and tried not to think about what was going on a few feet away from me. I could hear everything going on in there and it wasn't helping. The water began to run and I could hear the slight sound of her clothes dropping to the floor. The smell of her bare skin was intoxicating. I was actually grateful in that moment that I was wounded. That was the only thing stopping me from shifting or going in there.

The more I tried to block out the sounds and smells, the worse it got. Thankfully she was being serious about taking a short shower. The water shut off and I could hear her getting dressed not long after. I could hear her humming a song as she finished getting done and I couldn't help but feel extremely calm as her voice filled my ears. The song was slow and soothing. I would have to ask her about the song later.

My eyes were still closed as she walked into the room. Her heart beat filling my ears louder and louder as she got closer. The bed tilted ever so slightly as she got in next to me. I grinned as I felt her soft lips on my cheek.

"You're not asleep?" She asked in a shushed tone.

"Not yet."

"So you're staying the night?" I could hear the slight excitement in her voice and I opened my eyes to see her staring down at me with an excited grin.

"Yes, please." I whispered as I grabbed her by the waist and gently pulled her down next to me. The smell of her shampoo filled the air around us.

She laid her head on my shoulder and placed one of her hands by my side and the other on my chest, near the wound. I held her tightly in my arms, as if at any moment we could be ripped apart.

"What was that song you were singing earlier?" I asked.

Em lifted her head up and looked up at me.

"How could you hear me?" She asked as her face turned slightly red from embarrassment. .

I shrugged as I smiled, "Good hearing."

"Oh." She said before laying her head back down on my shoulder. "It's a lullaby my mom taught me ever since I was young. She said its been passed down through my family for centuries."

"Hm." I said as I shifted a little underneath her.

Her heartbeat was steady and her breath was getting deeper. She was already falling asleep in my arms.

"Good night Derek." She mumbled.

"Good night Em." I said back as I placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Her fingers ran up and down my chest slowly, coaxing me to sleep until finally, sleep took me.
