I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 36:

--Scott’s POV:

I looked up at Stiles and couldn’t help but feel really nervous. He was right, Derek looked like he only had a few more moments to live.

“Get back in the car. Lets go.” I growled.

I carefully shut the door, making sure not to slam it or cause him any more pain. Jumping back into the passenger seat I looked back over at Stiles and grimaced.

“Go.”

Stiles turned the key and flung it into drive. He drove so much faster then before as the trees flew past us. I looked back to the backseat just in time to see Derek’s eyes snap open and cough up more blood. His eyes were ice blue and glowing. He was trying to heal himself but it just wasn’t enough right now.

“What’s wrong? Is he ok?” Stiles yelled while trying to look back and drive at the same time.

“No. Pay attention to the road. He is trying to heal but something’s wrong.” I said while unbuckling my seat belt.

Swinging my leg over, I threw myself in the backseat next to Derek.

“What can I do?” I asked trying to be as helpful as possible.

“Nothing, just get me to my house.” He said quietly. I was shocked by the sincerity in his voice as he continued to sit there with his eyes closed and his teeth clinched together.

I sat there staring at him, I didn’t know what to do until he reached his hand up and clutched his chest. The only problem was he wasn’t strong enough to hold on to the wound and stop the bleeding. He was going to bleed out if I didn’t do something.

I ripped off my shirt and shoved his hand out of the way. I pushed my ripped up shirt on to his wound and earned a very loud yell of pain from Derek as I tried to stop the bleeding. I could tell his body was trying to shift out of anger and pain but he didn’t have the strength to.

“What the hell is going on back there?” Stiles yelled again, trying to look back at us but I ignored him.

Derek let out another yell of pain before growing deadly silent next to me. I watched him in horror, as he didn’t move for a few more seconds. To my relief he flinched as another wave of pain shot through his body, letting me know he was still alive.

He barely opened his eyes and glanced over at me.

“Derek. Are you dying?” I said with complete seriousness.

He was silent at first but then attempted to take a weak deep breath.

“Yes.” He breathed.

“Why cant you heal?” I asked, trying to stay calm.

“Scott, I think he hit my heart.”

“What?” Stiles and I yelled in unison.

“How in the hell are you still alive?” I asked.

Before Derek could answer, Stiles slammed on the breaks for the second time tonight and announced that we were here.

I could visually see Derek’s body relax slightly at the sound of home. Stiles slammed his door shut and ran to my door, which I was already opening.

We both carefully helped Derek out of the car but as soon as his feet hit the forest ground, his legs gave in. If it wasn’t for Stiles and I holding on to his arms, he would of collapsed to the ground. He was in no condition to be walking or standing at all. We had to practically carry him towards the porch, with his feet dragging along the floor. I tried to keep my hand pushed up against the wound on his chest but it was extremely hard to do that and also carry him.

When we reached the porch Stiles and I looked at him for answers.

“Now what?” I questioned.

“Take me inside.” He mumbled in annoyance, his wounds obviously getting the best of him.

We both nodded, and carried him up the stairs, to the porch, then the front door. When we got inside, it was extremely dark and unnerving. The smell of burnt wood was thick in the air.

“Where to now?” Stiles asked this time.

Derek motioned towards the room to our left and we obeyed. There was an old couch that had somehow managed to escape most of the damage from the fire sitting on one side of the room. We decided that was the best place for him now until we found out what he wanted us to do next.

“Now what do you need us to do? Is there something here we can get that will heal you?” I asked.

“You used to live here, so you have to know if there is something here that can save you.”

Derek could barely open his eyes now but I could still see the icy blue globes. Except, now his eyes weren’t glowing like before, they were dull and looked like the very life was being sucked out of them.

“Derek! What do you want us to do?” I raised my voice, getting very weary of the situation.

“Leave.” He said before leaning his head back on the couch.

“What?” Stiles yelped.

“No way. Tell us how we can help.” I said getting extremely impatient with him.

“Leave please.” He said calmly.

His breathing was starting to slow and was much more controlled then before. He was trying to save his last few breaths.

For some reason I felt like we didn’t need to be here for this. I didn’t know if it was because I was like Derek now, a werewolf, or it was just instinct, but I respected what ever his decision was. We needed to leave him at peace.

“Stiles, we need to leave him.” I said under my breath.

Stiles looked at me in shock but before he could say anything more I stormed out of the room and out the door. It wasn’t long before I heard Stiles’ footsteps chasing after me. I reached the door and prepared myself for Stiles’ questions to my reasoning.

“Scott! We can’t just leave him. He wont make it through the night.”

“I know, but it is his wish.” I said, my eyes growing darker.

I didn’t know what was happening to me but I didn’t really care. I was going to respect Derek’s decision and leave.

I opening the door and got in without a sound. Stiles soon followed behind me and got in the drivers seat but didn’t turn on the car. Instead he looked over towards me.

“Is this like a werewolf thing that I just don’t understand because I’m not one of you?”

“To be quite honest, I think so but I’m not sure.” I said with no emotion in my voice, for some reason I was pissed off and confused.

“Do you care to explain why we are leaving him to die alone then? The least we could do was be there. I wouldn’t want to die alone.” Stiles said, but said the last part under his breath more to himself.

“I thought you hated Derek.”

“No. He just scares the living shit out of me.” Stiles said in a humorless tone.

“He wants to be alone. At peace I guess. Now go.” I said.

The ride back to the school was agonizing. I was so angry with myself for letting this whole situation even happen in the first place. No one would be dead and I would be home with Em and mom. I was angry at the fact that I had lost my teacher and quite honestly my only lifeline right now, other then Stiles. We had decided we needed to go back to the school and call the police and Stiles’ dad to report the janitor’s dead body. We needed to make up an excuse to explain it all, and we had decided that we were going to blame the killings on Derek. He would of already passed by then so it wouldn’t matter. We would be the only ones who knew the truth until we could track the Alpha down and kill him. It wasn’t easy telling Stiles’ dad that a recently dead guy had killed the janitor but there was no other option. We both told him that we witnessed Derek killing the janitor with our own eyes but he had gotten away before we could stop him. It was enough information for the police department to confirm that Derek has been the murderer of all those people and his sister. They had even ordered a search party immediately to find him.

I took a deep and labored breath as I stood against a police car next to Stiles.

“We are going to hell for this.” Stiles said quietly, due to the fact of all the cops around us, at the crime scene.

I chose not to answer him as I watched some medical examiners roll away with the janitor’s dead body. We both jumped as Stiles’ dad appeared in front of us. He looked both stressed and relieved as he rubbed his temples with one of his hands.

“I need you boys to go home. It is going to be a late night again and I am probably going to have to ask you two some more questions, but not tonight. Get some rest and relax tonight.”

We both nodded our heads in understanding.

“Stiles, drive yourself home. I am going to take Scott home.”

We both looked at him confused as to why Stiles couldn’t just take me home. We opening our mouth to protest but Stiles’ dad raised his hand to silence us.

“No buts, just do it please. Scott come with me.”

Stiles and I looked at one another with confusion and decided it was best to just obey and ask questions later. We went our separate ways and I followed Mr. Stilinski to his cop car.

The ride was uncomfortably silent as we drove to my house. It didn’t take much longer to get to my house and I was thankful to be home and out of that weird situation.

I thanked him for the ride and got out but was confused when I heard the car door slam behind me. I turned around to see him walking up behind me. He adjusted his belt that held his gun and all his other equipment, and then looked up at me.

“Do you need anything?” I asked trying to sound sincere but was completely confused.

“Yes. I need to speak with your sister.”
