I do not own the characters of TV show teen wolf such as Scott, Derek, Allison, Stiles, and so on. I do not own the show teen wolf. I do not own the ideas of the TV show Teen Wolf. (Though I wish I could be such an amazing writer as the writer of Teen Wolf!!!) I do own my characters such as Emily and her friend Stephanie because I created the two girls.

Chapter 28:

--Emily’s POV:

The water ran down my bare back as I took my time in the shower. Derek had told me to take my time so why not take advantage of the time. I hummed to myself as I ran my fingers through my soaking wet hair, getting the rest of the shampoo out.

Finally deciding it was probably a good idea to get out of the shower I shut off the water and realized it was completely silent without the water running. Derek probably wasn’t home yet. I wondered where he had gone on an errand. He should have been back by now.

Stepping out on to the cold tile floor I had to be careful because the floor was wet from my hair dipping on it.

I looked around for a few seconds then realized something very important was missing. Panic hit me when I realized my bag with my clothes was not in the bathroom with me.

Keep calm, I needed to find a towel so I could dry off and find my bag.

I rung out my hair in the sink and began searching through the bathroom cabinets to find a towel but had no luck. I seriously went through every single cabinet at least twice to find anything to dry me off but only came up with a small washcloth.

“Gez. Does he not take showers?” I said under my breath.

Raising up the small washcloth to eye level I eyed it. This will have to do for now.

I quickly dried off as much of my body as I could with the small piece of fabric. Now I needed to try to remember where I put my bag. I remembered I had it in Derek’s car on the way here but after that I had no idea where I had put it.

What if it was still in the car? Great, how am I supposed to explain this one to him?

Placing my ear on to the cool wood of the bathroom door, I listened for any signs of Derek being home. The TV was no longer on so I was pretty sure he wasn’t back yet. That probably gave me a few minuets to run around and try to find the stupid bag.

The thought crossed my mind that I could put on my dirty clothes from earlier but there was no way that was going to happen. They reeked and were still wet with sweat.

I sighed and cautiously opened the bathroom door but not before grabbing the small washcloth to offer me some protection from exposer.

“Derek?”

To my relief there was no answer, just the occasional creaking of pipes in the old walls.

I stuck my head out to be completely sure no one was home, looking to my left then to my right.

Satisfied with myself I stepped out into the living room completely naked while covering my lower half with the cloth.

No sooner did I reach the couch to look beside it for my bag, the front door swung open.

I couldn’t move as Derek casually walked in. He was looking down while he fiddled with his keys and the grocery bag in one of his hands but it didn’t take long for him to notice me. He immediately dropped the grocery bag and the keys in his hands.

His face paled, as he looked me over. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came from his mouth. I couldn’t blame him. Here I was completely naked, well except for the small washcloth, standing in the middle of his living room.

I couldn’t help the scream that escaped my lips as I attempted to cover my self as well as I could.

“Em! What the hell are you doing?” Derek almost yelled as he slapped his hand over his eyes. His other hand clung to his stomach as if he was in pain.

“I couldn’t find my clothes!” I yelled back at him while grabbing one of the pillows on the couch to offer me move coverage. I thanked the heavens that I had decided to grow my hair out so it fell neatly over my breasts, hiding me from further embarrassment.

Derek quickly pulled his shirt over his head and moved closer to me to give me it.

My jaw hit the floor when I saw his body for the first time. He was completely toned and had a very defined six-pack, not to sound like a total fan girl but he was beautiful.

“Em!” Derek said impatiently as he pushed his shirt in from of my face again.

I snatched it from his hands and slipped it over my head, standing there awkwardly. His shirt was obviously way to big for my body but it covered up everything it needed to cover.

“Can I look now?” Derek said nervously.

“Yeah.” I said under my breath while pulling down the shirt a little more.  I couldn’t look up at him from sheer embarrassment. My face felt like it was in fire.

Derek faked a cough to ease the tension but it didn’t do much.

After a few seconds of silence we both just burst out laughing. There wasn’t much other we could do but laugh about the situation. I couldn’t believe that had just happened. Something like that would only happen to me.

“Can we pretend that never happened?” I asked with a pleading smile.

Derek chuckled and agreed, but for some reason I knew he wasn’t going to let this one go.

After everything had settled down, I decided that I was going to keep Derek’s shirt and put on my extra shorts. It still looked like I wasn’t wearing anything because Derek’s shirt covered up my shorts but I didn’t mind. It was the thought that counts.

When I emerged from his room after putting my shorts on, Derek looked over at me from the couch with a grin. He had already picked up the grocery’s he had dropped earlier by the door and fortunately for me he was still shirtless.

“What?” I asked worried he was going to bring up the incident again. It was to soon to make jokes about it just yet.

“Nothing.” He said.

“No, what?? I asked impatiently.

“So I guess your keeping my shirt?”

“Oh. Is it ok? I will give it back, I promise. It’s just a lot more comfortable then the clothes I brought.” I laughed sheepishly.

All Derek did was nod his head.

“Thanks!” I said while I took a seat next to him on the couch. “So did you get everything on your errand?” I said trying to change the subject, knowing he was still thinking about what had happened earlier.

“Yeah. I stopped by the grocery store to grab some stuff.” He glanced over towards the kitchen then back at me, “Wait here.”

“Ok.” I anxious to see what he was up to.

A few seconds later the microwave started up for the second time tonight. The wonderful smell of popcorn filled the small apartment as Derek opened the microwave and pulled out the bag.

He emerged from the kitchen with a bowl of popcorn, the bag with the rest of popcorn that didn’t fit in the bowl, and some napkins. I noticed it was the same bowl from earlier that he had given me soup in. Of course it had already been cleaned.

“Thanks.” I said taking the bowl that Derek had offered me. He nodded and sat down next to me. “Did you find a movie to watch?”

“No, not really. I was going to wait for you to see what you wanted to watch. There are some new releases that look pretty good.”

“Ok!” I said cheerfully. “Lets see them.”

He chuckled at my excitement and handed me the remote. “Ok. Let me go change.”

“Oh. Ok.” I said under my breath while taking the remote from his hand.

He got up from the couch and went into his room, not bothering to close the bedroom door behind him.

I watched as he unbuttoned his jeans and then the zipper. Quickly looking away from him to the TV I blushed. He must have a habit of not closing the door because he is used to being home alone all the time.

That last statement hit me kind of hard. Derek was alone. His family was gone and he didn’t really have anyone. His family was taken from him and there was nothing that could ever bring them back. The family he had alive was his uncle and he has been in a comma for years. I felt myself sadden the more I thought about it. I couldn’t imagine what it was like as a single teardrop fell from my eye.

Before I knew what was happening Derek was standing in front of me. He had changed into black basketball shorts and a tighter white shirt. I quickly whipped the tear from my cheek so he wouldn’t see it but he probably already had seen it judging by the look on his face.

“Don’t.” He said with a stern expression on his face. He knew exactly what I was thinking. How he knew, I didn’t know. His stern face saddened as each moment passed.

I didn’t know what took over me as I stood up quickly and wrapped my arms around him in a bear hug. Instead of hesitating he immediately wrapped his own arms around me. His hands gripped the back of my shirt as he buried his head in my hair roughly. I decided at that exact moment that whatever happened, I was always going to be there for him. Even if we were only friends or if we were more than friends, I would always be there.

He pulled away from me and grinned. It was the most sincere smile I had ever seen from him since we had met. I returned his smile as he picked me up and pulled me down on the couch once again. He kept his arms wrapped around my waist as he sat me in his lap. I cuddled into his warm chest, taking in his comforting warmth.

If I wasn’t tired before, I was tired now. I sat there with my head on his chest thinking about everything that had happened. His chest rose and fell slowly underneath me. His heart was still beating strong within his body making me feel even more tired with each thud.

“Em?” He whispered. The sound of my name rolling off his tongue was music to my ears.

“Yeah?” I answered groggily.

“Do you still want to watch a movie? I don’t think you are going to make it through the entire movie without falling asleep.” He said in a serious tone.

“True. Do you still want to?”

“Do you?” He replied. I rolled my eyes as his typical guy answer.

“Yes.” I laughed.

Derek held up the remote and began to scroll through the movies. I couldn’t help but smile as I lay in his arms. I closed my eyes waiting for Derek to chose a movie or make a suggestion. I didn’t think he would take this long to find a movie though.

--Derek’s POV:

Judging by her steady breathing she had already passed out. Her slow shallow breaths were soothing and causing me to drift in and out of consciousness. I shook my head trying to fight off the sleep but it seemed like nothing could stop it.  I hadn’t slept in days and now I was paying for it.

Looking over at the popcorn that still sat on the table in front of us completely untouched, I reached out for it and was able to grab the bag without waking Em.  I didn’t want to wake her just yet. No one had ever shone me any compassion like she had since the fire. I knew she wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so I just had to deal with it. Not that she was a burden; I just didn’t want her getting involved. Her getting involved would only cause her pain physically and emotionally. Of course I had already thought of the consequences. If the hunters found out about her, she would more than likely be turned against my kind. I had seen it happen multiple times before. She wouldn’t be easily persuaded though and I had faith in her. All I could do was hope and protect her. I had dragged her into this mess and now it was my duty to protect her.

I exited the movie list on the TV and turned on the news. It was probably a bad idea to watch it but I needed to incase any more news had come up from my sisters death and the other murders. I had come to the conclusion that my sister had been killed by the hunters to lure me in and I knew the others were killed by the Alpha.

Memories of half of my sister’s body flashed through my mind. It might seem rational but I had to bury her, I couldn’t leave her lying on the ground like that. I had given her a burial next to my old burnt down home so she could be with the rest of my passed family.

The news anchors voice broke through my thoughts as she talked about the weather. She had yet to say anything about the killings but she did announce that school would resume this Monday.

“Emily will be thrilled,” I chuckled sarcastically.

--Scotts POV:

I wondered through the forest trying to grasp my head around everything that had happened tonight. It was still dark outside and a fog had settled in making everything look very around me.

I didn’t even realize how long I had been walking for until the sun began to barely shine through the trees. I found the road with ease and began to walk towards town.

Everything felt like a dream. I barely noticed a car approaching until I heard a familiar voice yell out my name.

“Stiles?” I answered weakly.

“Yeah. It’s me! Thank god. I am so glad I found you.” He said concerned as he jumped out of the drivers seat and helped me into the passenger seat. “I have been driving around looking for you since you ran off from your house.”

I silently thanked him and rested my head against the seat. Looking at the cars clock I finally realized how early it was. It was five in the morning. Stiles really was my best friend for searching for me.

The car ride was silent for the most part until Stiles broke it.

“So you transformed last night?”

“Yes.” I answered, a little pissed off to admit that he was right the whole time. “I couldn’t control it. I thought I was going to lose it.”

Stiles was about to interrupt me but I cut him off before he could.

“And the worst part is…”

“Please don’t tell me the worse part is that you left Allison.” Stiles yelled at me.

“She more than likely hates me now.” I said closing my eyes while trying to figure out how I could explain last night to her.

“She probably doesn’t hate you that much.” He said laughing. “Oh and by the way, school starts up tomorrow again.”

“What?”

“Yeah. There hasn’t been another attack and a while so they are going to resume it. They figure if we are all in school during the day we are safe during the day.”

“Oh.” I said. I was nervous about seeing Allison again after last night. I could only hope she would forgive me for leaving her at the party.
