Fitz

Inhaling a shaky breath, Fitz stepped through Everglen's great doors and into his family's living room. There, he found that the house was empty. No sound. Fitz's hands quivered, still in shock from... He decided to refocus his thoughts. It wasn't healthy to feel guilt. Besides, why should he feel guilty? Alvar deserved everything he got. He'd kidnapped Sophie. He'd brainwashed her. The blood stained his hands, still, and Fitz went to his room to wash off.

Everything felt strangely quiet as Fitz opened the door from his room to his bathroom, a large room of tile with golden counters and a shower the size of a human kitchen. Taking a moment to admire himself in the mirror, Fitz saw that his face still carried traces of his brother's blood. He wiped it off quickly, repulsed to have such traitorous blood tainting his face.

He paused for a moment, caught up in his own reflection---staring deep into his own teal eyes. The color of a Vacker, Fitz thought. Alvar didn't deserve such eyes. He didn't deserve anything---and certainly not Sophie's grieving. His anger rippled throughout him, but Fitz pushed it down. He'd already used enough of his anger for the day, and he couldn't lie. It made him feel... relieved to finally have hurt the Neverseen. No. His brother wasn't that important. But still. It was one less Neverseen member to deal with. Forcing his attention somewhere else, Fitz brushed a hand threw his hair, mussed up from all the drama that had gone down.

"It doesn't make sense," Fitz said, the silence unbearable. His parents were still talking with council, trying to learn anything they could about Sophie's current status. Last he'd heard, she'd been under Livvy's care. Fitz had wanted to go, but he figured, after her reaction to Alvar's... He knew it was best to give her some space. So it made him upset to learn that Keefe hadn't felt the need to respect her as he had. Why couldn't Keefe just lay off? Sophie was his. His

She could have her own opinions and crushes, of course. But... They'd dated. And Keefe was Fitz's best friend, so it only made sense that Keefe acted as a wingman so Fitz could get her back. Now he was disrespecting Sophie? Not thinking, Fitz pounded a fist against his bathroom wall. He'd thought that his Keefe was back. The one that Fitz had befriended before they'd even known about Sophie. Now, they were divided. And while they might have had that little understanding in the caves and such, there was no more of that now.

Fitz now understood that Keefe would never change. His selfish friend would never give up on trying to steal Sophie from him, and he'd never stop disrespecting her either. Washing the rest of the blood from his skin, Fitz continued to think. And finally, he was clean again, no sign anything had happened. Really, he should've went to visit Sophie right then. But... Keefe was there, and Fitz didn't want to start any fights this time.

So, Fitz went back into his room and rest on his bed, the silence so painfully obvious. Fitz groaned, sitting upright. Why was it so quiet? Why did it bug him? Then he realized...

"BIANA!" Fitz swung his door open, racing down the hall and screeching to a halt in front of his sister's bedroom. "Biana!" he cried, bursting through the door. Silence greeted him. Biana was gone. The room was messy, though if it were struggle or just Biana's broken... But the open window told Fitz that it must have been a kidnapping. As, there was no... no splat! below the window. Just grass. And bushes. And flowers.

Anger caused him to shake. The Neverseen had taken her. She was gone. His vision blurred with his rage, his mind barely able to process anything else. Biana was missing because she was broken. Biana was broken... because of Sophie.

Thank you guys for reading this far---this seriously started out as some random story I needed to get out of my head and just... out there. I really didn't expect this many readers, and I definitely didn't expect some things. I feel evil... am I evil? Sorry this chapter is so short. Thanks for reading this far!!!
