Unification of the Heart (Zatanna Zatara, aka the Sorceress Supreme)

She had a smile on her face, staring directly into the soft expression that the man across from her had right now. She never had seen him with such a bearing, always seeing his stoic and neutral expression. It was a nice change of pace from his usual attitude. But right now, that didn't matter to her. Today was going to be a very special day for the two of them, because it would mean a new beginning for the two of them.

They were surrounded by an evergreen forest, surrounded by the majestic flora that were around them. A blue and yellow carpet laid underneath them, with a basket right besides them. The wind blew softly against their hair, with her long hair obscuring her view momentaneously. But she didn't care at all, the moment that they were having between the two was making her feel excited for what they were about to do.

"This spot is a font of energy..." She said, explaining the reason as to why they were in the beautiful forest. This was a magical point where the flow of magic was higher than usual. It would help them with what they wanted to accomplish at this moment. "Perfect for casting" She nodded, making a slight statement around the area they were in right now. She loved the area, the greenery around her made her think more calmly. Letting her ignore reality for a second. And it was because of this that she hoped she could enjoy this moment even longer. "It's just an added bonus that it's so beautiful"

"Not as beautiful as you..." She blinked, almost uncertain that she heard wrong. Her eyes were staring at the man in front of her with a curious yet shock expression on her face. She didn't believe her ears, really thinking that it was all in her head. But as soon as she tried to question it, she suddenly stopped. She didn't want to make things awkward before the ritual even started. So she decided to question him after the ritual itself. Though it seems that he noticed her stare, looking elsewhere but at her. "Nothing... Just talking to myself"

"Dork..." She whispered, her eyes looking at the man with a sincere expression. She couldn't help but be astounded by the various emotions that he was letting her see. She could feel the deep bond between the two, even without the help of the ritual. "Bruce, are you sure you wanna go through this?" She asked, her eyes looking at him, the man who moved his face towards her own. She needed the confirmation, to know that she was not the only one that wanted this. It would hurt her if he decided to ultimately not realize the ritual, but she would understand him. "This is your chance to-"

"Yeah... I'm totally sure, Zee" Her smile widened quite largely, showing her pearly teeth to Bruce Wayne, the man in front of her. She felt happy, elated that he still chose to continue on with the ritual that the two of them had agreed to do. It made her feel special, just how he had always described her. It made his words feel a lot more sincere than what she often let herself to believe. So it was without question that she started to fall even harder for the hero in front of her.

"Good!" She couldn't help it, she let him know just how excited she was to accomplish the ritual with just a single word. She never would regret anything that she says, her pride would not allow it. But she could honestly say that she was quite ashamed with just how direct she was being at the moment. "Just follow my lead, okay?" She whispered, her eyes staring directly into his own. Her eyes widened momentaneously, almost forgetting something important. "And don't forget to relax!" She swiftly added, her hand moving towards the basket and removing the items they were going to use for the ritual. She wanted to already feel what the end result would be, her heart practically soared through the skies just imagining how close the two would get after everything was said and done. "This is supposed to be our moment and our energy will affect how well it works"

"Right, relax..." She chuckled slightly, knowing full well that Bruce could do the impossible almost all the time, yet he was unable to truly relax. But she could see that he wanted to try, even if it was just for her sake. She felt her cheeks gain even the tiniest of heat, though thankfully she knew just how to ignore it. She needed to concentrate on the ritual and be as relaxed as she could ever be. "Got it..."

She started the ritual, looking just how Bruce was following her every movement. From getting the orange peeled to dripping the blood of his hand into the crystal vase. He was following her every step. She was already quickly approaching the last step, watching just how Bruce wrote on the paper while using the mixture of his blood and her own. She prepared everything, waiting for him to finish writing what he needed to write in the paper.

"Are you ready?" She asked him, extending her hand briefly to let him know that he had to hold it. She was patient, knowing that the two will have very special moments after everything was said and done. She could wait a few more seconds if it meant an eternity with him. She could already feel just how her heartbeat accelerated slowly, picking up the pace as each moment passed by.

"Yeah..." She smiled, looking just as he extended the paper he had on his hand towards the other paper and placed his free hand over her extended hand. She smiled at him, something she could see that he was trying to do. She could appreciate Bruce trying to give her a smile, even if it was a forced one. Soon she would hopefully see a more honest smile, something she could wait for as long as he was by her side. "Just finished"

"Htiw siht gnireffo fo snoitnetni, eht owt emoceb eno..." Her eyes shone a bright blue as she recited the last part of the ritual. The hand that was holding on to the paper slowly dropped to the flame the black candle had. It slowly burned the paper, their hands letting go of the ashes that the paper had become. She kept her smile, looking at Bruce who just blinked in confusion.

"Did it work?" Her soft smile transformed into a cheeky one, her eyes gaining the slightest of mirth in them. She moved her hair behind her right ear, allowing him to see her face. Her blue eyes stared right as his brown eyes, her left eye closing momentaneously.

"You tell me" She communicated through their bond. In a matter of moments, he made the biggest smirk she had ever seen him have. Her heart skipped a beat just by seeing his current expression, it was something very beautiful. He launched himself at her, dragging her to the carpet beneath them. "If I knew suggesting we do spells to unify thoughts would make you smile like that, I would have suggested it sooner"

"Have I ever mentioned how gorgeous you are when you do magic?" She blushed slightly, her cheeks gaining even more heat to them. She gave him a smile, extending her hand towards his left cheek. She caressed it softly, enjoying the feeling of their closeness.

"Only every time you can" She widened her eyes, feeling just how Bruce closed the proximity between the two. His lips touch her own, making her moan slightly at the sudden kiss. She loved being next to him, just as she loved that their ritual did not have any secondary effect as she feared. Because it means that she would be able to get even closer to Bruce, to show him that he will never be alone again.
