Terrifying glare

When your done with the parade you go inside, and start to take all the heavy equipment off of you. "That was amazing" you hear Haymitch say impressed. "Oh, we are all anyone is going to be talking about!" Effie says excitedly. "So brave." Haymitch says to you. "Are you sure you should be near an open flame?" You say sarcastically but then again not with emotion. "Fake flame? Are you sure you-.." Haymitch stops mid-sentence to catch someone glaring at you. You also turn to see who it was and figure out it was the boy from earlier who you were staring at. "Let's uh.. let's go upstairs." Haymitch says trying to get out of public.

"So each of the districts get their own floor, and because you're from 12, you get the penthouse!" Effie says excitedly, as usual. "Come on" Effie says trying to hurry. "So this is the living room" Effie says showing you four around. You look around in awe as it's so big and spacious. "I know, I know. Now your room are right over here. Why don't you go clean yourselves up a little before dinner?" Effie tell you to go do that.

When you finish cleaning yourself up you go to your your room. You're surprised to see that your room is big and luxurious. You go over to sit on the bed to see how the bed feels. Again, you're surprised as to how comfy it is. You pick up a remote and look at your window to see it change as you press a button. Then it changes to a forest and you get up and stare at it, as it reminds you of home. After staring for a quick minute you stop and turn it off and leave the room.

Now you're in the training room with the other 48 tributes. "In two weeks, 47 of you will be dead. One of you will be alive. Who that is depends on how well you pay attention over the next four days, particularly to what I'm about to say. First, no fighting with the other tributes. You'll have plenty time for that in the arena. There are four compulsory exercises, the rest will be individual training. My advice is don't ignore the survival skills. Everybody will want to grab a sword. But most of you will die from natural causes. 10 percent from infection. 20 percent from dehydration. Exposure can kill as easily as a knife." That's the advice from the trainer.

Now your trying to find out what you can do to help you survive. As your watching the other tributes you feel someone burning eyeholes into the back of your head, so you turn around and see the boy is glaring at you with the coldest expression ever. It's terrifying to see him like that, so you turn away. Then you feel your hands start to shake. You walk away and sit down thinking and watching people for a while. Eventually you hear people arguing. "Jason, where's my knife, huh?" The boy says angrily and annoyed. "I didn't touch your knife" Jason says also annoyed. "I put my knife right there!" The boy was starting to raise his voice while he gets even more angry. "I didn't touch your knife!" Jason says again also raising his voice. "Yes, you took my knife!" The boy says yelling at him starting to hit him hard, but it looks like he's not breaking a sweat. They started to fight while peacekeepers pulled them of each other. Then you look up to see a little girl that's probably about 12 years old with the boy's knife. You laugh at that but immediately stop laughing to make it look like your not guilty. Then you hear the boy yell this, "Actually, better yet, I'll wait for the arena. You're the first one I get, so watch your back."

"He's a career. You know what that is?" Haymitch asks you. "From district 1" you say immediately. "And 2" Mocx adds on to your answer. "They train at a special academy until they're 17 or 18. Then they volunteer. By that point, they're pretty lethal." Haymitch adds on disappointedly for Giu because you can't do anything. "But they don't receive any special treatment. In fact, they stay in the exact same apartments you do. And I don't think they let them have dessert. And you can." Effie adds on immediately. "So how good are they?" Mocx asks worried. "Obviously, they're pretty good. They win it almost every year, but.." Haymitch gets cut off by Effie. "Almost." Effie adds on. "They can be arrogant. And arrogance can be a big problem. I hear you're good at shooting." Haymitch says impressed. "Not really." You say doubting yourself. "She's pretty good, my father buys her squirrels. He says she hits them right in the eye every time." Woody says, bragging on you. "Woody's strong. He can throw a 100 pound sack of flour right over his head. I've seen it." You say now bragging on him. "Okay, we'll I'm not gonna kill anybody with a sack of flour." He says doubting himself. "No, but you might have a better chance of winning if somebody comes after you with a knife." You argue back. "I have no chance of winning! None! All right?" Woody says raising his voice a little, making you jump a little. "It's true. Everybody knows it. You know what my mother said? She said district 12 might finally have a winner. But she wasn't talking about me. She was talking about you." There was a long silence. "I'm not very hungry." Woody says, excusing himself.

After an even longer silence you speak up. " I'm done, too." You say and go to your room.
