Good rating

The next day and you're now training. You're still observing everyone and everything around you. You see a girl shooting a bow and arrow but you continue to try to light a fire. You see Woody struggling to climb a rope ladder while district 1 and 2 is laughing at him.

"Throw that metal thing over there" you tell him.

"What?" He questions you. "No Haymitch said we're not supposed to show our skills-..

You cut him off "I don't care what Haymitch said. Those guys are looking at you like you're a meal. Throw it."

You say and get him to go over there and throw it. He grabs the heaviest one and throws it and it goes really far. The people from district 1 and 2 look surprised.

You go to sit back down but see a girl behind a pillar that's behind you, staring at you. You smile a bit seeing that you have someone that actually looks up to you.

"Tomorrow they'll bring you in one by one and evaluate you. This is important because higher ratings will mean sponsors. This is the time to show them everything. There'll be a bow. Make sure you use it. Woody, you make sure to show your strength. They'll start with district 1, so the two of you will go last. I don't know how else to put this. Make sure they remember you." Haymitch finally finishes on instructing you.

Now you're just sitting there waiting for you to go in.

"Y/n Everdeen." You hear an automatic voice say your name so you go in. "Y/n." You hear Woody say your name so you turn around. "Shoot straight" Woody tells you. You just nod your head trying to convince yourself that you even can. Your almost shaking with worry and fear as you don't think you can do this. You grab a bow and arrow and walk up to the room above you full of game makers.

"Y/n Everdeen, district 12." You say as they stop talking and observe what your going to do.

You walk over to where you're supposed to shoot a target.

You pull back on your bow and arrow, you take a deep breath, and...

You miss.

The game makers laugh at you and continue with their conversations.

However, you don't realize they've stopped paying attention to you so you shoot another arrow and shot it directly in the middle of the head.

But no one cared.

You've already showed them you can't do shit.

So you just think to yourself as you look up into the room. Then something catches your eye.

You have a plan.

You immediately go grab another arrow and almost as soon as you have it aimed you shoot the arrow into the room, aiming at a specific thing.

You were aiming at a small apple in a cooked pigs mouth, you could tell it was pig because it still had the shape.

You hit the Apple directly in the middle making it fly to the wall sticking to the wall with an arrow inside.

The game makers look at you immediately in shock.

You bow

"Thank you.. for your consideration." You say almost mumbling the last part but you knew they heard you. You put the bow down and walked out surprising yourself because you didn't know that you were able to do that.

"Are you crazy?!" Effie yells at you furiously.

"I just got mad." You say calmly and with fury at the same time.

"Mad? You realize that your actions reflect badly on all of us. Not just you." Effie says with the same tone of anger.

"They just want a good show, it's fine." Cinna says calmly.

"How about it's just bad manners, Cinna! How about that? Well, finally! I hope you noticed we have a serious situation." Effie says getting even madder then before.

Haymitch gives you a thumbs-up.

You can tell he's proud.

"Nice shooting, sweetheart." He laughs right after he said that compliment.

"Wh-what did they do when you shot the apple?" He asked trying to find the right words.

"They looked pretty startled." You say answering his question, calmly.

Haymitch laughed at your answer. He was getting more proud by the second.

"Now what did you say? Thanks for.." he trails off as he forgot what you said.

"For your consideration." You end the sentence for him.

He laughs again even harder. "Genius! Genius." He compliments you, yet again.

"I don't think we're gonna find this funny if the game makers decide to take it out.." Effie goes back to lecturing you while you roll your eyes but she gets cut off by Haymitch.

"On who? On her? On them? I think they already have. Loosen your corset, have a drink. I would've given anything to see it. Haymitch says in your defense, still with a proud expression.

"As you know, the Tributes were rated on a scale of 1 to 12 after three days of careful evaluation." Caesar Flickerman said as he got into telling all of the 48 Tribute rates.

You hear that the boy from district 1 got a rating of 12 as your jaw dropped from this news.

After a long wait it finally get to district 12.

"From district 12, Mocs Thorneway. With a score of 7." We all clapped for Mocx.

"Woody Witewater, with a score of 8." We clapped for Woody.

"Morrel Rivers, with a score of 7" we clapped for Morrel.

"And finally, Y/n Everdeen... with a score of, 11." He says shocked and you look up at the screen full of confusion.

Everyone in the room roared with excitement for you.

The tv shut off and you stare in disbelief. You receive a quiet congratulations from Woody. You thank him as you almost pity him.

"I thought they hated me." You say still shocked from what you heard.

"They must've liked your guts." Haymitch said thinking of a good explanation.

"To Y/n Everdeen, the Girl on Fire! Congratulations." Cinna gave that toast for you as, surprisingly, you gave off a smile.

Wow this is a longggggg chapter. I'm having a lot of fun with this so you should tell me ideas you have for my next book. (I'm not even close to being done with this one.)
