Awkward Interveiw

"Ladies and Gentlemen, your master of ceremonies, Caesar Flickerman!" You hear an announcer over a loud speaker introduce Caesar as your currently backstage.

"Thank you, thank you. Welcome, welcome, welcome.. to the 1st Quarter Quell Hunger Games! Now, I'm about five minutes, they're all going to be out here. All the Tributes that you've heard about. Are you excited? Let me hear it!" He laughs after his introduction as the audience roars in applause. I can't help but roll my eyes.

Now your dressed in a red ball gown dress with your hair in a bun. "Amazing." You hear Cinna say complimenting his own work.

"I don't feel amazing" you say feeling nauseous.

"Don't you know how beautiful you look?" Cinna asks you trying to lighten the mood.

"No. And I don't know how to make people like me. How do you make people like you?" You ask furiously.

"You made me like you." Cinna answers your question.

"That's different. I wasn't trying." You quickly mutter but he heard you anyway.

"Exactly. Just be yourself. I'll be there the whole time. And just pretend that you're talking to me. Ok?" He tells you exactly what to do.

You just nod your head in agreement.

"Let's see if she does indeed shine. Let's have a warm round of applause for Glimmer!" You barely hear him say as you zone out until you hear that it's "the" boys turn.

You listen carefully to the name.

"Five Hargreeves?.." you repeat the name confused.

That's not a name.. what the heck is happening?..

You think to yourself as you hear him mentioning your name.

"All I want to do is kill Y/n Everdeen." Five says with a blank expression.

You feel shivers racing up and down your spine.

You zone out for the rest of the interviews until you hear your name get called and realize that's your cue.

You walk out on stage as Caesar and introduces you.

"From district 12, you know her as The Girl on Fire!" Caesar said as the entire crowd cheered at the mention of your name.

"Well, we know her as the lovely Y/n Everdeen!" Caesar said.

"Welcome Y/n." He welcomed you.

You stare into the audience with a phased yet, scared expression.

You sit down, zoned out not believing that you're really here.

"Well, that was quite the entrance you made the other day." He stated but you didn't seem to hear him as your just now zoning back in.

"What?" You asked, puzzled.

"I think someone's a little nervous." He chuckled at his own comment, so did the audience.

"I said that was quite an entrance that you made at the Tribute Parade the other day. Do you wanna tell us about it?" He repeated himself and then asked the question.

"Well, I was just hoping that I wouldn't burn to death." You answer honestly.

Everyone laughed.

"When you came out of that chariot, I have to say, my heart stopped." He tells you kind of over dramatically.

"Did any of you experience this as well?" He asked the audience as they applauded to answer his question.

"My heart stopped." He repeated himself again.

"So did mine" you say again, honestly.

More laughter

"Tell me about the flames. Are they real?" He asked you, full with curiosity.

"Yes." You answer.

You add on. "In fact I'm wearing them today. Would you like to see?" You ask him.

"Wait, wait, wait, is it safe?" He asks you uncertain.

"Yes" you answer with a laugh.

"What do you think, folks?" He asked the audience.

He laughed "I think that's a yes!" He said to answer your question.

You stand up trying to figure out what to do and start to twirl.

Flames come from the bottom of your dress and the audience erupts with applause.

When you start to get dizzy you stop spinning and stumble but you maintain your balance.

"Woah, steady, steady." He gets you to maintain your balance.

You sit down

"That was really something. Y/n, that was something. That was something. Thank you for that." He said and smiled.

"I have one more question for you. It's about Five Hargreeves. We were all very concerned when he said he was going to target you, during the Hunger Games. Does he scare you?" He asked with concern in his voice.

It was silent for a moment as you look down at your feet.

A small "yes" escapes your lips just barely being heard by Caesar.

An even longer moment of silence passed by, but you decide to break that silence.

"But I'm not going to let him intimidate me. I'm going to try to win." You say with as much confidence as you can.

"Of course." Is what Caesar said.

He adds on to that

"And try you will. Ladies and gentlemen, from district 12, Y/n Everdeen, the Girl on Fire!" He said with a lot of excitement in his voice, trying to change the sad mood.

You go backstage and meet Effie who's leading you back.

"You did it, darling. That was incredible." Effie congratulated you as you think you did terrible.

"Thank you" was all you could mutter out.

"Nice job, sweetheart." Haymitch congratulated you too.

Once again "thank you." Was all you could mutter out.

"I uh... I need the restroom." You said trying to also ask where it is.

"Down the hallway, take a left, down that hallway, then the first door on your right."

"Thanks" is what you say right before you start to almost run down the hallway.

As you were about to enter the bathroom you felt someone grab your wrist tightly, but before you could scream he covered your mouth.

He was holding you so that you couldn't see him, with your back to his chest. You could tell he was tall.

But, then again, you're kind of short

You try to squirm loose but his grip only tightens, forcing tears to leave your eyes and run down your cheeks.

He leans down to your ear and your heart beat increases. "If you don't stop moving and making noise, I'll hurt you. Badly.

After hearing that, you immediately shut up and stop fighting against his grip.

"Good girl" is all you heard from his mouth.

Tears were still falling down your cheeks.

"I'm coming after you, you know. You'll be the first." He pushes you to the ground and quickly vanishes. You thought you heard a woosh but that must have been your imagination.

When you turned around he was gone.

Who was that?..
