Aurora sighed as she leant against the kitchen counter, watching the clock that hung over the fridge. The ticking was driving her over the edge and she was furiously tapping her finger nails against the counter.

The clock read 6:45 a.m. and she already felt like she was losing her mind. Arne's words from a few hours ago kept echoing through her head and she couldn't help but wonder if he was right. Was it true? Was she afraid of love?

She couldn't help but be extremely angry with Arne. Who did he think he was? Just waltzing into her life without a warning and forcing the relationship bomb on her. They hardly knew eachother and she only just barely knew him from when she was crushing on him at school.

Her heart felt heavy in her chest. Despite Arne assuring her that he had no real feelings for Debbie and that he'd never get back with her if given the chance, she couldn't help feeling like she was being used. As though she were his rebound.

She struggled to comprehend the fact that maybe Arne felt the same connection she felt with him and if that was the case then she was fucked,  literally.

Aurora suddenly heard the bedroom to Arne's room creak open and her mouth went dry, at a loss for words. She cleared her throat, turning and readying herself to face Arne when the air in the room shifted.

It suddenly felt much colder and a feeling of dread and evil washed over her. As she turned to the bedroom door, her mouth fell open as a woman, dressed in a long basic black dress walked out, her hair pinned back and her face stone cold.

She turned to stare right at Aurora, her face not changing but a flicker of surprise rested in her eyes.

"Who are you? What do you think you're doing?" Aurora asked firmly, walking over towards the woman.

The woman simply stared a Aurora before she walked forward, not stopping even when she was inches away from Aurora. A heavy weight began to fall onto Aurora's chest and she gasped loudly when the woman walked straight through her.

Aurora struggled to breathe, falling to the ground, clutching her chest as she did so. She turned around, crawling backwards and her eyes shifted from every inch of the room searching for the woman but she was gone.

After a minute of taking deep breaths, the air shifted once more, the eerie coldness now gone along with the heavy weight. Aurora stood up and rushed into the bedroom, her only thought being Arne.

"Arne!" She whisper—yelled, shaking a sleeping Arne who's eyes fluttered open and lips curled into a smile at the sight of her.

"Hey, you." He greeted, unaware of the woman who'd previously been in his bedroom. His hands found themselves on her waist and he lifted her up into bed, forcing her to straddle his hips.

"What's wrong?" He frowned when she saw the worried look on her face, his hand now cupping her cheek.

"Are you alright?" She rushed out, she eyes searching for any marks on him. She used her hands to move his head, looking for any sign or marking, (that she didn't give to him) and used her fingers to unbutton his shirt. Her eyes wandered over his chest and when she saw nothing she sighed, content.

"It was just a small fever Rose, it's gone now. No need to worry." Arne reassured her, now sitting up as he began to place soft kisses all over her face. Aurora sniffled and forced herself not to cry. How could she have been so fucking stupid?

It was clear to her now that Arne had been marked by this woman and that she was somehow controlling the demon. It could've been another case similar to Valak, the demon who'd possessed the nun or Bat-sheba but she'd be dammed if she let it take Arne.

As Aurora pulled back, tears in her eyes as she stared at Arne, she'd never felt more frightened in her life. She'd been on many cases with her parents before, a true badass, but this one was different because she had something—someone to lose. In that moment, as Arne cupped her cheeks, kissing her tears away as fear filled her heart, she knew just how fucked she truly was; for in that moment it was truly clear to her that she wasn't infatuated by him, she was in love.

She'd loved him since highschool and when she'd been sure the exact feelings weren't reciprocated, she had locked them away, avoiding them. But now it was clear she'd never stopping loving him and she was falling, harder than before; she only hoped Arne was there to catch her when she crashed.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Arne asked for the fifth time, fear in his voice as he watched Aurora wiped away her tears, sliding off him and falling down beside him on his bed.

"You're not leaving are you? You promised you wouldn't until we spoke." Arne said, hand on her bicep. Aurora shook her head.

"I saw her Arne, the woman you told me about. She was here, in your room. I don't know why or how but she has you. This is my fault, if I hadn't left your side my purity could've protected you, I—she would t have—" a sob tore through her throat.

"Hey, hey—shh." Arne said, cupping cheeks once more and leading her to his neck, where she buried her head, "it's okay. Everything's okay. You're here now and as long as you're here I'm going to be fine. Just don't leave me okay?"

Aurora nodded and Arne smiled, placing a soft kiss on her head and leading her to straddle his hips.

"Good. Now, round 2?" He asked and she giggled, pushing him back and laying her head against his chest.

"Not until your fever is fully gone." She said and he sighed, pouting playfully.

"A man can dream." He said in a wistful voice and Aurora rolled her eyes but said nothing, only cuddling into him further.

September 8th, 1981

Aurora set her things on top of the kitchen table and walked into the bedroom, immediately rushing towards a sleeping Arne and smothering him with lots of kisses.

"Hey, good afternoon." Aurora greeted him, straddling him but carefully as to not run against Arne's morning wood.

Arne smirked and pulled her to him, kissing her roughly before flipping them over so that she was beneath him.

"Very good afternoon indeed." He said before he leant down and kissed her, his hands already traveling underneath the hem of her dress.

"No stop." Aurora giggled against his mouth, pushing him away softly, "everyone is downstairs and—"

Debbie walked into the room and Aurora immediately shoved Arne off of him, fixing her dress.

"Woah, you were like ten seconds ahead of me, Rory. You two lovebirds sure are quick." Debbie said as she leant against the doorframe. Arne groaned and covered his crotch with a pillow, checking his alarm clock with a frown.

"Why did you two let me sleep in so late?" Arne grumbled, annoyed as he sat up in bed, rubbing his face.

"Let you? We couldn't wake you." Debbie said as she picked up a pillow from the floor and threw it at him, Aurora smiled, amused at Arne's annoyed expression.

"Hmm, that's strange. You mustn't have been trying very hard because Aurora just woke me up in a very effective manner." Arne said with a cocky smirk in Aurora's direction. Both Aurora and Debbie rolled their eyes.

"I'll leave you two to it but hurry, the foods almost ready and everyone is waiting downstairs." Debbie said before she turned and left. Once the front door closed shut, Aurora crawled over to Arne and began peppering him with lots of kisses.

"C'mon, we need to go before we're stuck with soggy hamburger buns and I got to go to the hospital later to visit my dad." Aurora said before she slid out of bed only to be held back by her hand.

"Wait, actually there's something I want to ask you." Arne said in a serious voice and Aurora scrunched her eyebrows, confused but she stayed behind.

"Okay..."she trailed, allowing him to pitch his question.

"Well, now that we've together for a bit, seeing eachother everyday and now that we're together I haven't felt anything paranormal thanks to you. Well, I don't know—its just I still have most of my things in boxes because I wanted to go but I stayed because well—you. But now I still want to leave just not without you, what do you say?" Arne said and Aurora's eyes widened.

"And leave Brookfield? Move in together?" Aurora asked him and Arne nodded.

"Yeah, we'll move in together, possibly get married." He proposed and Aurora shot out of bed.

"Married? We've been dating for like 3 weeks!"

"I meant married after a bit but so? I already know I want to spend the rest of my life with you, you're home to me. I can't sleep now without your scent enveloping me, on my sheets or without you in my arms. And I know you feel the same way too, even if you won't admit it." Arne said, hand rubbing the back of his neck.

"And go where?" She asked, running a hand through her hair.

"I don't know—Texas?"

"Texas?!"

"Okay, so maybe not Texas. The location doesn't matter, all that matters is that I'm with you." Arne said and Aurora frowned.

"Then why move away in the first place?"

"I want to put this behind me. Start fresh. I mean, why not? There's nothing keeping us here." Arne explained.

"Nothing but my family and the money we don't have." Aurora retorted before she sighed and sat back down beside him, kissing his cheek, "I'll think about it okay? We can discuss it after I get back from the hospital and after we make love."

"Okay. I'll run us a bath later too so we can spill a bit of water on the floor and piss off Bruno." Arne said and Aurora giggled, rolling her eyes.

"You're treading on thin ice, Johnson. He's bound to kick you out if you keep annoying him." She said and Arne smirked.

"Better for me, he'd only be speeding up the process of things." Arne said and Aurora snorted before she kissed him once more and slid off the bed.

"I'll meet you downstairs okay?" She said and Arne nodded.

"Love you!" He called right before she closed the front door and like always; she didn't respond.

Aurora closed the door behind her with a heavy heart and rushed down the steps, almost ramming into Judy on the way.

"Oops!" Aurora said as she stopped abruptly in place, "Judy!" She scolded, hands on her hips, "watch it!"

Judy rolled her eyes, "why did you take so long. You took like five minutes just to wake him up, did you two bone?" She asked mischievously and Aurora rolled her eyes and pushed Judy down the steps, walking behind her sister.

"Let's go." Aurora said and the pair walked behind the kennel, towards the large backyard where Debbie's family and their friends were currently holding a barbeque.

The Glatzel's were so grateful to the Warrens that they decided to thank them by holding the cookout despite it being months ago but Aurora didn't complain and neither did Drew, who Aurora saw serve himself two burgers and three hotdogs.

"How do you manage to stay so fit when you eat more than three people combined?" Suki, Aurora's bestfriend said as Aurora sat down beside her. Aurora placed a kiss on her friend's cheek in greeting and listened in on the conversation. Drew simply shrugged.

"The hell if I know," Drew said with his mouthful.

"It'll probably catch up with you in a few years." Carmelita, Judy's bestfriend said.

Sitting at the picnic table was, Aurora, Suki, Drew, Judy, Carmen and Philip (Judy's boyfriend).

"You're just jealous we don't gain five pounds for eating a piece of shrimp unlike you." Phil said and Carmen threw a her hamburger meat at him, smacking him right on the forehead.

"First of all I'm allergic to shrimp, that's why I puff up and second, you promised not to speak of that incident!" Carmen said and Phil glared at her, wiping his face.

"You should have thought of that before you snitched to my mom that I snuck out yesterday to go to the concert with you guys." Phil retorted before yelping when Judy elbowed his side. Aurora's head snapped towards her.

"You went to a concert? You told us you were sleeping over at Carmen's!" Aurora scolded and Judy shrugged.

"I did sleep over at Carmen's but not until after the concert. So technically, I didn't lie." Judy retorted and Suki snorted in amusement. Aurora rolled her eyes and bit into her burger, her eyes trailing towards Debbie, who was a few feet away, playing with David in the grass.

She'd introduced everyone to everyone earlier on but she felt guilty that her friends couldn't seem to click with Debbie yet, considering the fact that Debbie was cool. In the past three weeks, Aurora had help Debbie at her job at least six more times and the girls got along great, she considered Debbie a true friend now.

"Hey!" Suki said, smacking Drew's hand away from her plate, "those are my fries!"

"You weren't eating them." Drew mumbled, shoving a handful of Suki's fries into his mouth.

"Hey Debs?" Bruno said as he walked out, carrying two coolers, "can you go inside and get the other cooler for me? Take someone because its heavy."

"Sure thing." Debbie said, getting up from the grass and Aurora stood from the table, "I'll help."

Debbie sent her a smile and Aurora walked behind her and into the Kennel.

"Hello Sparky!" Aurora greeted the small golden retriever that began going crazy at sight of her.

"I still don't understand why you're the only person he seems to like, you didn't bribe him with dog treats did you?" Debbie joked as they walked towards the kitchen. Aurora rolled her eyes and laughed out loud.

"Ha! You wish! I'm just that much likable." Aurora said with a shrug, earning a small push from Debbie who rolled her eyes. Both girls spotted the cooler and grabbed each end of it, bringing it outside.

"Damn, this shit is heavy." Debbie said with a grimace and Aurora's eyes widened, surprised by her foul language.

"C'mon we got this, we're halfway there." Aurora encouraged her as they walked out the door and towards the party, putting down the cooler on the grass.

"See, what did I tell you about us being a great team?" Debbie told Aurora who laughed and shook her head.

"C'mon let's join the party." Aurora said, grabbing Debbie's hand and leading her towards her friends.

She'd already introduced Debbie to the group earlier, Arne, however, she hadn't. So as she walked towards the picnic table and saw him standing beside them, talking, she grew a bit nervous.

As she approached them, she let got a Debbie's hand and walked over to Arne, wrapping both of her arms around him waist and leaning her head against his chest.

"So, this is the boyfriend you've been hiding away from us for three weeks." Philip said and Aurora's cheeks went red.

"He's hot." Suki said bluntly and Aurora smiled, used to her friend having no filter.

"Told you." Judy said with a smirk, glancing over at Suki.

"Eh, not really my type." Carmen said, earning an eye roll from both Arne and Aurora. Drew cleared his throat and handed Arne his now empty plate.

"Thanks man but Im not really hungry right now." Arne said, accepting Drew's plate.

"What? That's not for you. Go serve yourself but bring it to me. I can't go because I already got three servings and I don't want them to think I'm greedy." Drew said and Suki flicked his forehead.

"Ow!"

Arne placed a wet kiss on Aurora's cheek and went to go serve Drew. Everyone turned to look at Aurora.

"We like him." Suki said and the rest nodded.

"You guys look great together." Carmen said, resting her chin on top of her palm.

"Seems like a genuine guy, I say: go for it." Philip said and Judy and Drew, both nodded in agreement.

"So, are you moving away with him?" Aurora heard Debbie say from her seat. Debbie had been quiet but present, ripping up a napkin into pieces out of boredom but once she looked up, Aurora's tongue suddenly felt very heavy in her mouth as she noticed the swirl of jealousy in her eyes.

"Arne told me he was going to ask you today. Or did he not?" Debbie asked and Aurora shrugged.

"What? You can't go!" Just complained.

"Yeah, you can't just abandon us! What about work?" Drew asked.

"Have fun." Philip said, waving her off before clutching his leg, "Ow!" He glared at Carmen who offered her most innocent smile.

"You're not going." Suki said in a bored tone, already over this conversation.

Aurora looked over at Debbie and sent her an annoyed look for spilling her secret.

"Aw shit! We're late, Mom's going to have a cow.", Judy said as she stood up and chugged the rest of her coke down.

"You still have fifteen more minutes." Carmen said, looking down at her watch.

"Oh." Judy said, sitting back down.

"Well I'll be right back." Aurora said, getting up from the table again and walking around the building. She bumped into Bruno along the way, who was hitting his Stereo before sighing and putting it down.

"Hey Bruno." Aurora greeted, stopping in her tracks.

"Hey kid, whatcha doing?" Bruno asked.

"Going to change, got mustard on my dress." She replied, looking down at her stained dress. Which was weird because she didn't even like mustard.

"Well if you run into your boyfriend, do me a favor and tell him to fix my damn stereo, shit is wack." Bruno said and Aurora giggled, nodding once.

"Will do." She said before walking away and up the steps to Arne's apartment.

She was fast, quickly changing into another dress and she fixed her hair in the mirror. Suddenly, the air went cold and she heard a floorboard creak.

Her head snapped away from the mirror and towards the doorway, peeking out. Nothing. She sighed and shook her head, bending down to wash her face. She stood up and dried it with a towel before walking back and screaming as she bumped into something—someone.

"Arne!" She yelled, hitting his arm in annoyance, "you scared me!" Arne smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry but I'd been calling your name at least four times, did you not hear?" Arne asked confused and Aurora shook her head.

"Hmm, weird." Arne said before his eyes raked over her body, "Why the sudden outfit change?"

"My other dress is dirty. By the way, Bruno wants you to desperately fix his stereo." Aurora said, walking out of the bathroom, bedroom and into the living room. Arne sighed.

"When we get back from the hospital." He replied, taking a seat on the sofa. Aurora frowned and looked at him, standing infront of him and towering over him.

"What? You can't go. You have to stay and help Debbie with the dogs." Aurora said, placing her hands on her hips.

"Shit, I totally forgot. Then stay. You know I go crazy when you're not around." Arne said, sly smirk on his face as he sat on the edge of the sofa, hand wrapping around Aurora's waist and tugging her closer.

"You're wearing a vial of my blood around your neck so you can be protected, you'll be fine." Aurora said and he would be. Ever since she'd given him the vial, nothing paranormal had happened. As long as he didn't shatter it while she was gone, he would be fine.

Arne sighed, "I know it's just—I can't believe we've gone to such measures all because we can't be apart without something trying to ruin us." He said and Aurora frowned.

"I mean, how am I supposed to hold on for the rest of the day without you?" Arne asked and Aurora bent down, pressing her lips against his.

"I'll be in your bed making love to you in a few hours, just think about that. It should keep you going long enough" Aurora said and Arne groaned.

"You're killing me woman. You know that right?" He asked and Aurora innocently shrugged.

"Here, I'll help you." She said and Arne looked at her.

"How?" He asked and She pushed him back. His back hit the wall of the sofa and she straddled him, hands immediately going under his shirt and neck against his neck.

"Like this." She said and she giggled at the small smirk that formed on Arne's face.
