"I'm not much of a techno guy, maybe we should call for backup or, M'gann." Jaimie told us.

"Judging by the distance, possible landing points and top speed of each vehicle nobody would get here in under thirty minutes, and if they could, there wouldn't be enough time to decode, and, disarm this bomb. We have to do it ourselves." I told the boys and walked up to the bomb.

Looking at the techno pad I deciphered that it was the Reach's personal language, and figuring that Blues scarab could possibly know this language, I walked up to him.

"Put on your armour."

"Why?"

"Just do it you wimp." I told him and he did. I grabbed his arm, and pulled him over to the control panel.

Pushing his hand down on the control panel I told him to translate, and he did just that. Telling me that you need an override code and that its five numbers long. I began punching in numbers, four five eight two nine, zero eight three six seven, everything I could think of, the numbers didn't look like human numerals, but I could imagine it went across like a keypad.

I did this for quite a while, before I gave up and went to older tactics, like the old wire switch. Of course as soon as I opened the key pad, Blue fell down holding his head in pain. What could possibly do something like that? I thought as I looked back to the control panel, seeing a scarab crawling in the machine. It was a very dark shade of purple, obviously stopping anything from overriding it on Reach command. I grabbed a hold of it and held on for dear life, making sure it couldn't attach itself to my spine.

I held it out away from me but still hanging on, and stuck my head in the machine to get a better look, seeing all kinds of wiring. While I worked I loosened my grip on the scarab I was keeping away from my body.

I had been searching for one full day, looking for the Green Arrow, and finally found him. He had just stopped a local convince store criminal from stealing some cash, and I was following him. He turned around a corner and I did so as well, jumping to see not the Green Arrow, but the red.

I was fiddling around as Jaimie told the team through a ear piece that we found the bomb, and another scarab. When he finished the call, I told him to take a look into the machine again and it didn't help much except for saying that the scarab was there to protect it from people like me.

We had about five minutes left, and I was getting a little handsy, pushing metal out of the way only to find more wires to work, so I told BB and Blue to stand back. While I worked I had put my cape over the bomb, just in case it exploded, then we could at least minimalize the damage.

"Hello, and who are you?" Red arrow asked.

"I am the Darkness, if you must know." I said, and straightened up a little.

"Why are you following us?" He asked.

"I need someplace to stay." I told him, and he looked me over.

"Sure, fine..." He said, and Gestured to follow.

"Why do you have your cape over the bomb?" Beast Boy asked while looking under it at the other side.

"It's bomb proof, meaning it forms over your body to keep the explosion from hurting you too much." I simply replied, and continued to fiddle. "How much time?" I asked after a moment.

"Three minutes." Blue said. "Do you th-"

"Start running." I cut him off. He looked at me, then at BB.

"We can't just leave you here, you could die." Jaimie said.

I got up and out of the bomb. "And that is a risk I'm willing to take. Look, nobody knows about me, they won't be sad if I'm gone, plus I'm the only one who knows anything about alien computers. So start running." I told them beginning to get aggravated. They looked to each other, then left, and I got back to work.
