Evelyn and Conner walked back into the cafeteria holding hands. Ainsley and Donovan stared at them in disbelief. Evelyn smiled excitedly at Ainsley, who got up and walked over to her angrily. Donovan followed behind her.

"What's going on?" Ainsley snapped.

"Conner just asked me to the dance!" she squealed. "And I said yes!" Ainsley glared at Conner who looked nervous. She switched her glance to Evelyn. Donovan looked at Conner guiltily and Conner just looked down.

"Why would he do that?" Ainsley asked.

"We've become friends." Evelyn replied getting annoyed. "Why are you mad about this?"

"You could do so much better than him." she said coldly. She grabbed Donovan's hand and they walked back to their table.

Evelyn hadn't seen Conner for a couple days after that. She was scared he was avoiding her because of how Ainsley and Donovan reacted. On Wednesday, after school ended Evelyn and Ainsley met up to go dress shopping. She was still mad Evelyn was going with Conner, but they were still best friends.

Ainsley picked out a sparkly yellow dress and tried it on. They both decided it looked great and bought it. Evelyn also bought a dress at the same store, but she didn't show Ainsley. She wanted it to be a surprise. Maybe it would make her realize her feelings o_o 😏.

The next day at school Evelyn was walking down the hall and saw Conner. She smiled and went up to try to talk to him, but he just looked at her nervously and speedran away. Evelyn was so mad she started crying angry tears. She ran past Ainsley trying to talk to her in the hall.

"I know what I have to do!" she said under her breath angrily.
