Easter Day

Los Angeles

There was a house with two snakes living in it. A male king cobra snake named Montgomery or Monty Snake with his 9 year old son, Hubert Snake who was a Eastern Brown Snake. Ever since Hubert's mother died of sickness, it's been hard living without her. His father was the leader of an gang once, that's how he met his mother, Lily, who was a Eastern Brown Snake. His gang was relaxing on a beach when he cross paths with his mother. It was love at first sight. Pretty soon they got married and had one kid. They were King Cobras and Eastern Brown Snakes, the first and second deadliest snakes in the world. So they were the most feared in the town. Marc tried to make friends but every time he did, they would run away from him. His dad would often be hard on him at times trying to toughen him up.

"Look son, I love you, but you can't just keep cowering away from the world forever. We're the one of the deadliest snakes out there. You have to figure out how to use that fear. Either be respected or feared." Monty said to him once.

His dad would be too hard on him sometimes seeing that he couldn't stand up for himself. Like that one time he couldn't win a fight.

"You're a snake son! You got to start acting like one, be tough like one, be fierce like one!" Monty told his son cleaning his wounds. His dad would train him how to fight in the art of Fang Kwan Do, a fighting martial art for deadly snakes like them.

But there were times his dad would give him love. When his 10th birthday came, his father when all out on decorating the house for his son. Snake offered invitations to some of his schoolmates but they just turned them down or ran away in fear.

"Who's ready for birthday cake?" Monty asked Hubert.

"Me..." Hubert said sad. Monty then looks to see no one came to his party. He had a feeling this would happen again. Like all of his past birthdays, no one would come.

"Hey, it's okay. At least you got your dad. I know someday you'll be popular and people will notice you." Monty said as he hugs his son.

"So since one could come... I decided to invite my old gang members to come wish you a happy birthday." Monty said. Soon Monty's gang came over and gave Hubert presents and celebrate his birthday. It was the only best birthday he had.

For Snake's 13 birthday, his father booked him a party at the Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria. Full of games and entertainment by Freddy and the gang.

He was having a great time until... the murders happened. After that, he never wanted to go there again. His father comforted him after the experience.

Snake would often sing to himself at times when he was sad. His mother used to do that before... before she died.

He was now heading home from school. He would often hear the other kids talk about him and mock him here and there. He didn't mind at times but would cry about it.

🎵I've learned to slam on the brake
Before I even turn the key
Before I make the mistake Before I lead with the
worst of me🎵

🎵Give them no reason to stare,
No slipping up if you slip away
So I got nothing to share No, I got nothing to say🎵

🎵Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting
burned
Step out, step out of the sun Because you've
learned because you've learned🎵

🎵On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more
than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass I'm waving
through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around
for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass I'm
waving through a window, oh
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me?🎵

Hubert slithers pass the park to see families play with their kids. It made him miss his mother and how he and his father use to be happy. It made him miss his mother more.

🎵We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrong🎵

🎵Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting
burned
Step out, step out of the sun Because you've
learned,
because you've learned🎵

🎵On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more
than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass I'm waving
through a window
I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around
for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass I'm
waving through a window, oh
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me?🎵

🎵When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody
around Do you ever really crash, or even make a
sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody
around Do you ever really crash, or even make a
sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody
around Do you ever really crash, or even make a
sound?
When you're falling in a forest and there's
nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even
make a sound?
Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound?
It's like I never made a sound Will I ever make a
sound?🎵

He then burst into his home and slithers upstairs to his room with tears in his eyes.

He then lays on his bed looking at the ceiling as he fiddled with a fisherman hat his dad gave him.

🎵Is anybody waving? Waving, waving, whoa-
oh, whoa-oh-oh-oh"🎵

Snake finished his song as looked out the window to see kids playing. He cried knowing he never have any friends. He didn't even know his father was behind the door listening in. He only hoped that things will turn bright for him.

Then one day, when Snake was 15 years old, he and his father got in a huge argument.

"I'm tried of living here! I'm sick and tired of you trying to turn me into you!" Hubert said.

"I'm just trying to toughen you up! So you be ready to handle yourself!" Monty said.

"Yeah, well maybe I don't want your help!" Hubert said. Monty looked shocked but then looked mad.

"Fine! If you don't want my help, maybe then you should leave!" Monty said.

"Maybe I will!" Hubert said.

"Good!"

"Fine!"

Hubert then stormed up to his room and slammed the door. Monty then stopped looking angry and realized what he just said. He lowers his head down in shame telling that to his son. Hubert looked out the window seeing the stars in the sky.

He couldn't stay here any longer. He loved his dad, but he couldn't bare another moment of people mocking him. He knew what he had to do. He then wrote a note and placed it on his pillow, packed up a bag, grabbed his hat and headed out the window and into the unknown. As he slithers away, he looks back at his house and smiles a bit.

"Goodbye dad." Hubert said as he headed off. Monty then headed upstairs to go apologize for his anger.

"Hey, Hubert, I just want to—" He started only to see a empty room. He looks around to see a note. He picks it up and reads it:

Dear, Dad.

By the time you read this, I'll be long gone. I can't stay here any longer with people mocking me. I hope you understand. It's not you, it's me. I need to find out who I am and will be without you. Maybe one day we'll see each other again. I hope you'll do okay without me. I love you.

Love Hubert

Monty finished reading it with tears in his eyes. First he lost his wife, and now his son. He sat on Hubert's bed and cried, holding the note to his heart. He can only hope Hubert will do okay out there in the big world and use his lessons and advice he gave to his son.

Present Day

It was Easter Day for the Bad Guys. They were hiding Easter eggs all around their home. Snake was helping his wife cook while the others hid the eggs for the egg hunt. Princess was eight years old dressed in a bunny suit. Snake's kids were 5 years old playing with the rest of the Bad Guys kids; Pepe Jr., Joy, Nellie, Moe Jr., Willow, Luna, and Gray.

"The kids are going to love to egg hunt." Catalina said making Deviled Eggs.

"That's for sure." Snake said as he took one egg and ate it.

"So... when are you going to tell me your real name?" Catalina said.

"Ugh, seriously? Again with this?" Snake said. His friends and wife have been bugging him on knowing his real name. He never told anyone. His friends told their real names but not him.

"Come on, us being married means we should know each other's names. Means we should open out to each other. I'm not just gonna call you 'Snake' forever." Catalina said.

"Look, when I'm comfortable to tell my name, you'll be the first one to know, okay?" Snake said.

"Fine." Catalina said in defeat.

"Excuse me Mr. Snake, but I believe you have a phone-call." Cryptor said handing him the phone.

"Oh, okay? I'll be back sweetie." Snake said. He kissed his wife as he takes the phone call to a different room.

"Hello?" Snake said.

"Hi son. It's been a while."

Snake froze. It was his father. He hasn't spoken with his father in years after he ran away and became a criminal. The last thing he and his dad did was argue.

"Umm hi? Yeah, it's been a while since we last spoke." Snake said.

"Yeah, so how are you doing? I just wanted to congratulate you for criminal life and going clean. I knew you would find a way to get noticed." Monty said.

Snake smiled a bit. He remembered that talk about him one day being popular. Not in the way he hoped but he loved it. Being bad felt good. To use that fear to terrorize people. But as much as he loved Princess and his new family.

"So how are you doing, dad? Going well without me?" Snake asked. There a pause a silence after that. Snake worried his dad was still mad at him.

"Yeah... things are... great here. So uh... listen, I'm in town for a bit so I was wondering if I can come see you?" Monty asked.

Snake froze after hearing that. His dad wants to see him? He couldn't just say no, especially knowing his dad would come anyway. Plus this would be a great time to introduce his family and friends to his dad.

Yeah, sure you can come. I'll see you soon." Snake said.

"Okay, love you, son." Monty said as he hung up. Snake started to get nervous.

What if his dad's disappointed at him? What if he doesn't like his friends? His wife and kids? As he worried, objects around him started to shake rapidly. His powers were reacting to his emotions.

"No! It will all be okay, dad's going to be proud of me... he hoped." Snake thought. First he had to tell his friends and family about his dad coming to visit.

"Hey Snake! Who was that on the phone?" Catalina asked.

"It... was... my dad." Snake said. Everyone stopped what they were doing when they heard Snake said that.

"Your dad?" Webs said.

"Wow, I didn't know your dad was still alive." Piranha said.

"So what did he say?" Shark asked.

"That he's coming to visit us now." Snake answered.

"Now? That's great! I've always to meet him." Wolf said.

"Same here, it will be nice for him to see our kids and to know him more." Catalina said.

"Yeah... nice." Snake said. The Bad Guys got things ready. While that happened, Catalina saw Snake nervous.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked.

"I just haven't seen my dad in years. Not since we argued." Snake said.

"I'm sure whatever got between you, it will be fixed. Parents and kids fight. Believe me, it's happened with me and my other siblings with my parents. But the thing is, there comes a point in time where they make up. I'm sure you will too." Catalina explained.

Suddenly the door bell rang. Meaning he was hear.

"Well, that must be him, so I guess I'll— hold on! Where's Princess?" Snake said. They looked around to see she was gone.

Princess then opened the door to see a big dark green and red-orange striped king cobra in front of her.

"Hello." Princess said sweetly. Monty looked down to see a bunny in front of her. He drooled hungrily as he saw a juicy delicious bunny. His favorite snack. Probably a gift from his son.

Snake goes to the front just in time as he saw his father swallow Princess whole. He panicked and screamed at his dad as he rushed over.

"GAAAAAAAAH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! SPIT HER OUT!!!" Snake screamed as he grabs his father and began to make him split out Princess.

"SPIT HER OUT!!! SPIT HER OUT!!!! SPIT HER OUT NOW!!!" Snake screamed as he finally got him to spit out Princess.

She was totally unfazed by it and just laughed and giggled. Snake picks her up and comforts her as he glares at his father.

"What were you thinking?!" Snake asked his dad who looked confused and a little mad that his son that gave him CPR.

"What? You made spit out that delicious bunny. You know bunnies are my favorite snack." Monty said.

"This is not a real bunny, it's a kid, my kid." Snake said as he pulls off Princess's hoodie revealing her face to Monty.

Monty was shocked. But then got a little upset. He has a granddaughter?

"Kid? You have a kid? And you didn't tell me?" Monty said.

"She's my adopted daughter. Me and my friends' adopted daughter." Snake said.

"Daddy? Is everything alright?" Viper asked as he, Skales and Lily came to the door with Catalina. Soon the others came to see what was the commotion.

"Honey? Are you okay?" Cat asked. Monty looked dumbfounded when he hear those two words.

"Daddy? Honey? You're married? And you have kids? And you never invited me to your wedding or tell me that you had kids?! That I'm a grandfather?!" Monty said as anger grew in his voice.

"Oh like you would've care." Snake said.

"Yes! I would've care, Hubert!" Monty said. Snake's eyes widened when his real name was revealed.

"Hubert? You're real name is Hubert?" Wolf asked. Soon Piranha, Shark, and Webs laughed hysterically after hearing Snake's real name. Catalina giggled a bit after hearing that. Snake's blushed redder than a tomato.

"Yes, that's my real name." Snake said looking at his father irritated.

"Mystery finally solved." Webs said.

"So are you going to introduce me to your family and friends?" Monty asked impatiently.

"Hugh, dad... this is my wife Catalina." Snake said.

"Hi, a pleasure in meeting you." Catalina said as they shook tails.

"And these are your grandkids; Skales, Viper, and Lily." Snake said showing his kids. Monty nearly cried after hearing that name.

"Lily? You named her after your mother? I always hoped you would if you had kids." Monty said looking at his kids.

"Grandpa!" The three snakes cried as they hug him in joy. Monty just happy cried seeing his grandkids. He then goes to the Bad Guys.

"Dad... these are my friends. My best friend Wolf, Shark, Piranha, and Tarantula or Webs as we call her." Snake said.

"Hi there. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Moe Wolf or just Wolf. This is my wife Diane. I'm your son's best friend." Wolf said.

"Ah, it warms my heart to hear my son found a friend." Monty said.

"Hi! I'm Lou Shark or just Shark. Master of disguise. This is my wife Athena. Nice to meet you." Shark said.

"Hello." Monty said.

"Hello, I'm Tara Tarantula, or Webs. That's what everyone calls me. I'm Piranha's wife." Webs said.

"Charmed." Monty said as he kissed her hand.

"Hola amigo! Pepe Piranha is the name. Speedster, fighter, and singer." Piranha said to Monty.

"A singer, huh? Did you know my son sings as well?" Monty said. Snake immediately blushed in embarrassment.

"No way! Really? I knew you were good at playing the guitar but singing? Wow!" Wolf said.

"Yeah, sure... I use to. That was a long time ago." Snake said as he goes to Princess.

"And this little one you almost ate is Princess." Snake said showing her to him.

When his face was up to hers, she gently grabbed his face, Monty was surprised of how she wasn't afraid of him this time. Considering that he just ate her. She rubbed his face, Monty was then feeling her warm touches as he started to feel that unconditional love, he then heard her giggle at him. Then he smiled, like he started to feel the same love Snake felt, Princess rubbed his cheeks up and down then he tail started to wag.

"So... how long are you staying here?" Shark asked.

"Uhhh... however long my son wants me." Monty said looking at him.

"Uh... yeah! He can stay for the Easter egg hunt." Snake said.

"Great." Monty said.

"Before we start anything, may I have a moment alone with my dad, please?" Snake asked. They all left the room so the two snakes can talk.

"You've got quite the friends and family. I'm happy to see you made a big success." Monty said.

"Yeah, thanks..." Snake said not happy.

"You know, if you want to talk about that argument, I just want to say—" Monty started before Snake cut him off.

"Oh sure, still trying to comfort me now, huh? Newsflash! I don't need your help dad! I've grown stronger than I was back then." Snake said as he demonstrates by lifting every object in the room with his psychokinesis which surprised his dad.

"You're... a meta?" Monty said in disbelief.

"Yeah, I was there when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, giving me and my friends our powers. Powers that made me more than I was. Powers that my kids will have." Snake said.

This surprised Monty even more. To know his son has powers and that his grandkids will have powers soon. It was a lot to take in, but he saw his son was still the same back then.

"Well, just because you have powers, doesn't mean you're cured of pain. Look, I can still see your hurting. You won't even look at me in eyes to—" Monty said before Snake cut him off again.

"I don't want talk about it." Snake said.

"When are you going to grow up Hubert? You're still acting like a child." Monty said.

"WHY DO YOU CARE ME NOW? YOU TOLD ME TO LEAVE!" Snake yelled.

"AND I REGRETTED IT THE MOMENT I SAID IT! I NEVER MEANT IT! I CRIED MYSELF TO SLEEP FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS AFTER YOU LEFT!" Monty yelled. That shocked Snake after he said that. He thought his dad wouldn't care he left. But to hear that he made his dad miss him, made him regret leaving.

"Dad... I... I didn't know. I'm... sorry." Snake said as he comforts him.

"That note you left behind broke my heart. I already lost your mother... I wasn't ready to lose you too." Monty said with tears. Both snakes hugged each other in love.

"I'm sorry I broke your heart. I just... was tried of being mocked, being alone, and you being tough on me." Snake said.

"But you weren't alone. I was there by your side and I'm sorry for being tough on you. Ever since your mom passed, I just thought that being tough with you was for the best, that it would help you take care of yourself when I was gone. So that you would be able to handle whatever came at you." Monty explained.

Snake never thought of it that way. That he would have to prepare for a life with out his dad being there for him. If only he knew sooner.

"I'm sorry I didn't know. I wish I understood." Snake said.

"Yeah, but later then I saw you on the news. A criminal, an expert lock cracker! You had a talent and was amazing. I was so proud of you. You found a way to be popular, even if it was being a criminal. I was happy to see you with others just like you. And then when I saw you all go clean, I was even more proud." Monty said. Snake cried a bit as he hugs his dad.

"Thanks, dad. That means a lot to me." Snake said. It felt like all that pain from his past was gone.

"So... are we good?" Snake asked. Monty just smiled and fist bumped his tail.

"We're good." Monty said. The relationship of Snake with his dad was finally fixed.

"So let's join the others. I'm dying to know more about my grandkids." Monty said. Snake chuckled as they headed outside.

After their heart to heart moment, Snake and Monty joined the others as they watched their kids find the eggs. The day turned out okay, Snake and his father finally mended their bond with each other and grew closer to each other.

Up next... Snake's kids birthday
