We pull up into Emma's driveway and I knock on the door. The door opens and out comes Ryan. His brown hair is still sticking out in all places seeing that it's still morning.

He's squinting his eyes from the sunlight so it takes him a moment to realize that it's me and Adam. His eyes go wide and he engulfs me in a hug. "Riley! Happy birthday!" He says swaying side to side while still hugging me.

"Thanks, Ryan." I say and we break off the hug. His eyes go to Adam and I hold my breath. They started talking but the air is still a little tense since the little accident. Ryan smiles and he and Adam do that weird bro-hug thing. "Hey, Adam. What are you guys doing here?" Ryan says.

I let out a breath of relief and Adam puts an arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. "I took her out to get some birthday breakfast and then we came here to see you guys." Adam says and I smile, blushing slightly.

"Well, come on in. Emma's upstairs cleaning the room I'll tell her to come down." Ryan says motioning for us to go inside and closing the door. He goes to the staircase and clears his throat.

"EMMA!" He screams. "WHAT IS IT NOW, RYAN?!" Emma shouts. "DON'T TELL ME YOU BURNED THE PIZZA AGAIN!" She shouts and I imagine her sighing in expiration while being surrounded by piles of clothes debating which ones to throw away and which ones stay.

Ryan runs a hand through his face and rolls his eyes. "THAT WAS ONE TIME EMMA! ONE TIME!" Ryan says and I start giggling. I imagine the puff of smoke coming out of the oven and Emma with a towel trying to blow it away. She'd be mad at him but would probably end up kissing the life out of him.

"SO NO BURNING PIZZA?!" Emma shouts, you can hear the annoyance in her voice. Ryan runs a hand through his hair and sighs. "Oh my- JUST COME DOWN HERE AND SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RILEY!" Ryan shouts while moving out of the staircase.

There's a second of silence and then you hear a squeal and ruckus upstairs. I hear footsteps going down the stairs and it's not long when I see Emma's red hair going all over the place.

She runs over to me and gives me a bear hug and I hug her back laughing at her childish actions. I set her down and she looks at Adam and smiles at him. "Hey Adam." She says and gives him a little wave. "Hey Emma." Adam says and waves back.

Emma looks back at me and grabs me by the hand. "Your present is upstairs, your highness." She gives a little bow and I rolls my eyes playfully. Se drags me to the stairs and I look back at Adam and he mouths 'Go' and I give him and apologetic smile.

She leads me to my old room and I see a bunch, and I do mean a bunch, of Emma stuff in here. "Whoa, what happened here?" I say looking around the room. "Actually," I turn around and I see Emma playing with her fingers. "I'm making space in my room for when Ryan moves in here." She says and looking at me.

I stare at her in confusion and it hits me.

For when Ryan moves in here.

My eyes go wide and my mouth makes a 'O' shape. "Oh my god!" I squeal and start jumping up and down. "Ryan's gonna move in with you?!" I ask. She nods her head with a wide smile on her face. "Oh my god! Congratulations!" I say and hug her.

"Thank you, thank you." She says and pulls away. "But what we should really be celebrating is your birthday." She says and rummages through some drawers and pulls out a blue box with a red bow on top.

She gives it to me and I smile at her. I open it and it's an album of photos. I open the album and I see all the pictures that me and Emma took when we first moved in here until I had to leave. I give her a hug and I get tear eyed.

"Thanks, Emma. I love it." I say my voice cracking a little bit. "You're welcome, anything for my bestie." She says while hugging me back and her voice cracking a bit too. We break away from the hug and we laugh wiping away our tears with the back of our hands.

"What do you say we go downstairs and have some fun?" Emma says. I nod and we both leave the room. We went to the kitchen and I leave my gift at the counter.

Emma goes to the fridge and passes me a bottle of water. I take a sip and we find the guys at the living room sitting down in the couch watching a basketball game and screaming at the tv.

Emma sat next to Ryan and I next to Adam. Adam put his arm around my shoulder and kissed my head while I was snuggling up next to him. "Hey, babe." He says in that low, husky voice of his.

My heart starts fluttering and smile like an idiot. "Hey." I say not being able to say anything else. It's kind of funny because you'd think I'd be used to him doing all these small actions that make me weak at the knees but I'm really not. It's like I haven't gotten over the fact that my mate is like extremely hot and that he's my mate. Not Alice's. Not anybody else's just mine.

"So, me and Adam were talking and we thought that maybe we could have a small barbecue here. Just the four of us to celebrate your birthday, Riley." Ryan says. "I think that's a great idea." Emma says getting up from the couch.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" I say and look at Adam to see if he's okay with this. He looks at me and gives me a wide smile and turns back to Ryan. "Let's do it." He says.

"Okay, so me and Riley can go to the grocery store and get some stuff for the barbecue while you and Adam clean up the backyard." Emma says grabbing her keys and purse from the counter. Ryan nods and I get up from the couch making my way to the door.

"We'll be back soon!" I shout to them. They mutter something and they start screaming at the the the tv again. Emma and I roll our eyes and go out the door. We hop in the car and off we go to the grocery store!
