3rd Person POV

"Ugh... I'm bored.."

A few days have passed, and Rean is officially an Instructor of the combat class. The days passed by as usual, but the young instructor realized that there aren't much stuff to do other than training and combat, which makes him bored.

Some of his true personality has recovered over time, which is the main reason for this sudden feeling of boredom.

"I guess I'm going out for a walk."

In the end, he decided to wander around Vale, looking for something to do in his spare time. And today there was no school so it's the perfect opportunity for him.

Wearing his red casual clothes, he first visited From Dust Till Dawn, checking its papers and magazines, curious about the latest news and trends, which then he was greeted by one of his students in red.

"Oh, hi there Instructor Rean! What are you doing here?" Ruby greeted him while approaching him.

"Oh hello there Ruby, fancy meeting you here. I'm checking out some magazines and newspapers. Are you buying some dust for your weapon ammunitions?" He replied.

"Yes, and also looking for some parts for my new gadgets! Oh and thanks a lot for the notes you gave me Instructor, Those weapons schematics do relps!" She said with a cheerful happy tone.

"No problem, I guess you are indeed a weapon hobbyist huh?"

"Ah-! umm, hehe... you're not wrong Instructor.." She admitted while a little bit embarrassed.

"I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons, I rnjoy talking about it and also developing it, some people may take that as a weird thing sadly..." Which she said with a small frown.

"Weird huh? I don't think so."

"Huh?"

"I mean, having something to enjoy is okay as long as you know what you're doing. I don't think it's weird for someone to have a hobby like that.

Heck, I've met a couple of people with weird hobbies and likings, like someone that tends to sleep everywhere, a girl that preferred a plushie of a buff guy ttoa normal one, or someone spending afternoon time drunk on boozes, on some daily basis sometimes. Weird or not it wasn't monotonous and it adds aaunique charm to the person."

"Haha, that one of drinking reminded me of someone. Usually, people said that I'm too obsessed about it, but you're the first one that doesn't even mind about it, thanks Instructor Rean!" Ruby replied with a smile.

"No need to thank me, I'm just saying what is on my mind, that's all. And on the note, I can't wait to see your invention, so good luck!" He said back while also giving her a thumbs up.

"Yes! You won't be disappointed!" She replied while gsmiling at him

After buying their respective items, they then goes outside the store where they continued to talk.

"By the way Instructor, you did have those ideas, but I've never seen you use any weapon that has gimmicks like that, why is that?" Ruby was asking her instructor full of curiosity.

"Well, I may have some ideas, but my battle style was more fitted with my current weapon, even if there are no gimmicks on it."

"I see, though your fire semblance is really cool, you can control them efficiently with your weapon Instructor." She complimented him.

"Thanks for the praise, though I'm still in the middle of improving myself too."

He then thought to himself, it's a good chance to get to know more about his students, which then he stopped.

"Ruby, if I may ask, what is your reason for wanting to become a huntress?" Rean asked the question which make the girl in red also stop, looking at him.

"My reason...I wanted to become a Huntress in order to be like the great heroes in the fairy tales I've read, it's kind of childish but I genuinely want to become a hero that can help others." Rean was listening to her talking.

'A noble goal, even if a bit tad childish, though with that mindset she may not yet see the worse people and situation. Her optimism reminds me a little of Juna..'

"Umm... Instructor?" Which snaps Rean back to her.

"Uh! Yeah sorry, your reason was good and simple, yet could be a rough one."

"Rough? What do you mean?" She asked a little confused.

"You indeed want to help others, but at some point, some may don't want it, and even then you may find some trouble on the way." Ruby listened to him, which reminded her of the scuffle with Weiss at the initiation and the first-day class.

"But I think, keep moving forward is the best way to tackle the problem, if one way doesn't work, then use other ways that can help others. Failure is not the end, it's the beginning."

She was speechless, normally people would laugh at her for those reasons or make fun of her, but for someone to take it seriously and even have his piece of mind in it, it was new.

"I...see..., thank you for the advice Instructor Rean." she gently smiled at him.

"No problem, well I'm going to go somewhere, see you!" He smiled back replying to her.

"Yeah, see you too!" She replied back and then they parted ways.

Rean then goes to a nearby cafe, where he noticed a particular white-haired student of his, relaxing at the front table of the cafe alone. She then felt that someone looking at her, in which then she turn back and looking back at Rean.

"Good Afternoon Professor Rean, taking a break?" She greets him.

"Yes, Ms.Weiss, nice to see you here." He replied with a smile.

"Just Weiss is fine professor, you can join me if you want."

"Thank you, if you don't mind."

"Not at all, Professor."

He then sat near Weiss and then ordered a drink, joining Weiss on her break. After waiting, they enjoyed their drinks. Both of them apparently ordered the same drink which was a cup of tea.

"I'm surprised this cafe served a nice tea, maybe I'm going to visit this place frequently." Weiss said impressed by the tea she's ordered.

"Yes, truthfully I also enjoyed the tea in this cafe, it really soothed me and helped me feel calm." Rean said, which surprised her a little.

"Huh, I've never thought you also enjoy tea professor, it's rare for people able to enjoy their tea. Maybe next time we could enjoy more time here together."

"Well, if you don't mind then I'll be able to do that next time."

"Also, I've got to say professor, that the clothes you're wearing really fit you." Weiss complimented Rean.

"Thank you, I bought this the day before my first-day teaching."

"I see, though to be honest, at first a lot of people and me didn't expect you to be our professor, with how young you are."

"Well, I expected that from the others. The other teacher at beacon is more than my age and some may have more experience than me, but that doesn't stop me from trying my best and growing as a person." Rean said with confidence.

"You're quite an interesting person professor, even with your experience and abilities, for you to still try your best and also try to grow, some may stop at that point."

"Well, I'm not exactly an interesting one, and I still have ways to grow."

"Humble as ever, I do wish I could grow and be known for my hard work." Weiss said looking at her hand.

"Huh, if I recall, you are the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company right?"

"Yes, you are right Professor. I...wanted to try and carve my own path. I might have all the privilege of a rich upbringing because of my family, but I have never been able to truly feel like I could make my own choices, like I was trapped in a cage. So that's why I'm here, I wanted to create a path that was truly my own." Weiss said with a determined look which makes Rean smile in response.

'She reminds me of Alisa, though I don't know how her ties to her family...'

"That was a commendable goal, Weiss. You have a family that holds a big company worth millions in Remnant, yet you're here, trying to become a huntress, carving your own path. I hope you can achieve it." He replied to her which made her smile.

"Thank you for the compliment, professor."

"But there are just two things that come to my mind. First is that even if you fail or something blocks your own path, never gave up, an opportunity will always exist and all your work will never be a waste.

Second is that it's never shameful for getting help from others from achieving that goal, no man is an island after all." This made her silent, but then he added.

"And if you wish, I could help you to achieve that goal, so feel free to ask." In which he smiled at her.

This was the first time a person genuinely offering her help on her own goal and understood what she wanted.

"I see, thank you once again professor, this conversation was very pleasant for me." She said to him giving him a gentle smile.

"It goes the same way for me too. Though I'm afraid I need to go now, I have something to do after this."

"Oh, no problem professor, take care of yourself." Weiss replied as he parted ways with her.

'First Ruby, then Weiss, don't tell me I'm going to meet the whole team in one day' Rean pondered about the coincidence of those meetings with his students.

As he walking around, he realized there were several small stall near the Tukson Book Trade. Apparently there was some new books that were being promoted. He reads one the sample of the book out of curiosity which suddenly made him shocked, realizing it was a BL book that he was currently reading.

'Are they serious selling these out in the public?!'

As he then returned the book, the stall owner called at him.

"Hey you, with the black hair, what do you think about my book?" The owner asked, which made Rean flinch.

"U-Uhm, it was okay I think?"

"Oh?~ then do you want to help me to write stories like this? You have the potential to be one of its characters~" said the owner in a creepy voice which sparks fear in Rean immediately.

"A-AH, U-UH, NO THANKS, I HAVE SOMETHING TO DO, SEE YA!" He replied with a panicked voice and then left that stall, in which he then accidentally bump into a girl, dropping her book.

"S-sorry, my bad." Rean said picking up the books she's dropping.

"N-no, it's oka-, INSTRUCTOR REAN?!" This startled him into realizing he was bumping into Blake.

"Oh, Blake, uhh... why are you surprised?" He then realized why when he looked at the book he help picked up, which was a book called Ninjas of Love. And looking at the cover, it was definitely 100% smut.

"I-Instructor! I-I can explain-!" Blake said while panicked.

"Haha, uh.., so you like this kind of book huh?" Which he then gave her back the book, while she was hiding her face in embarrassment.

A few minutes pass, Blake was sitting in a park chair while Rean hands her a canned drink which she drinks immediately.

"Have you calmed down a bit?" Rean asked, looking at her.

"Yes, thank you for the drink, Instructor." Blake replied to him.

"No problem, and don't worry, I won't tell anyone about what you've just bought." This makes her a little embarrassed again.

"Ugh.., t-thanks Instructor" She said while looking down.

It was quiet for a small-time until someone breaks the silence.

"So, Blake, can I ask you something?" Rean said to her and she then look at him.

"For the first day when I met all of you in class, I noticed that your bow sometimes twitches, even just now when you're embarrassed, did you hide something on it?" The question surprises Blake and makes her look away from him.

"Well if you don't want to tell me that's okay, I'm not going to force it. But I'm just going to say that maybe others will notice that someday." He added, which Blake decided to take off her ribbon and show her cat ears.

"Huh, would you look at that, did your teammates knew about this?"

"No.." she said with a low tone while putting back her bow.

"I see, so why do you hide it? I can take a guess but I didn't want to assume." Rean asked her.

"I...came here to start over, to try something better for my life. And how can I do that if people only judge me on what I was born as, instead of what can I do, after all you must be aware of how people react to my kind."

Rean listened to her reason, and then he looks to the sky.

"A new start huh, I can't blame you for hiding it, people have secrets after all. And the world can be unfair.

But in my opinion, there is no need to hide who you really are. Faunus or not, you are still you, and that won't change to others as well, it's not people heritage that define them, it's their actions." Blake was silenced by this, rarely any human that she met would not mind of faunus, but to define someone action, rather than races is a more rare side that she saw in people she met in her life.

"I...see.."

"In fact, I think faunus have the edge over humans and me as a whole, like those enchanted reflects and physical prowess. Plus from your trait it actually makes you cuter with those cat ears" The compliments made her blush a bit.

"O-oh, sorry for blurting my mind about that."

"U-um no worries, thank you instructor..." she replied with a small smile. Then Rean get off the chair and looked at her.

"Well, I must cut this meeting short, if we meet again, then we can talk some more, see you soon."

"Sure, see you, instructor Rean"

--[]--

Rean, wanting to try something else rather than walking the town again, decided to try his luck on fishing, so he buys himself a fishing rod. He then goes near the dock to try catching something. After some time passes, he was able to catch a couple of fish.

"Huh, didn't really think I could catch fish this easy, maybe is in the body after all."

The thought was interrupted when he reels a heavy catch, but what he didn't expect was after pulling it, it flew onto someone riding a motorcycle, which surprised the rider and stoping it.

"Oh crap! Sorry, are you okay?" Rean said, approaching the person.

"Ugh! Be carefu- teach?!" The person replied and Rean realized it was Yang.

"Yang?! I'm so sorry"

'What kind of screwed-up coincidence is this anyway?!'

----

After some apology, Yang sat near Rean while he continued his fishing.

"So, how much did you catch?" Yang asked

"You can look at that bucket" Rean said as he pointed towards the bucket near him, which then Yang looked at it.

"Wow, that's quite some catches, wasn't small either" She said while looking at the bucket, impressed at the catches.

"Yeah, I didn't expect to be able to catch good fish on these docks." He replied.

"Though, this is the first time I seeing you in casual clothes teach, a good one at that. Did you perhaps go out on a date with someone?~" Yang teased him, which in turn doesn't give him any notable reaction.

"Well, no. And even if I were, I won't tell you that easily" he replied as he sighed.

"Haha, I'm just joking teach. Though it's weird your dressed like this and what you do instead is fishing here. You really stick out that way."

"Sticking out is my forte, rather than being stick in the mud, if you catch my drift." He said with a smug.

"Whoa teach, didn't know that you're such a 'punny' person" she replied, in which he suddenly silent, but then the both of them laughed.

"Hahaha.., you're alright in my book, teach."

"Hmm?"

"Usually the teachers I knew were boring or strict, but you socialize normally with us. And you're not a bad person to talk with." Yang said while looking at the horizon.

"Huh, thanks, I didn't expect that praise out of nowhere."

Some time passed, and Rean pulled his fishing rod and releases the bucket full of fish back into the water. Then he and Yang stands up and prepared to leave the dock area in which then Rean looks at Yang's motorcycle parked nearby.

"Nice bike, didn't know you have one." Rean compliments her bike.

"Thanks, Bumblebee is a beauty after all, though can you ride one teach?"

"Well, I've tried different models over the past, but never this one."

"Huh, well, want to try it?" She offered him.

"If you don't mind, sure." Rean accepted, and then she shows him how to use the bike. After some short demonstration of her riding it, she then gave him the turn to use the bike.

"Okay then, here I go." Then he drove around using the bike. He rode around familiarizing the bike, in which he was able to get a grasp of it quickly, which in turn impressed Yang.

'Nice performance... suddenly I want one of these, maybe I'll ask her where to get it.'. Rean thought in which he then stopped the ride with a 180-degree curve, in which when Yang approached him.

"Whoa teach! I didn't realize you could ride that well, maybe you should get one bike for yourself, then we can have a race!" Yang said with a big smile.

"Haha, well the racing can wait, but maybe I'll get one in the future." He replied as he got off the bike.

After some small talk in which he got the info about where to buy the bike, Yang then rides back to her bike and part ways with Rean, while Rean himself heads back to Beacon.

--[]--

Night has arrived, and Rean was on the dorm rooftop, looking at the moon when a message was sent to his scroll.

'Meet me tomorrow morning at my office, it's about your recommendation about the new teaching program - Ozpin'

"Guess tomorrow is going to be a long day, better get to sleep then" He said to himself when suddenly he felt an unknown feeling.

'What was that?!'

Little did he know, somewhere in Forever Fall, a small temple rises with its doors sealed tight.
