Chapter 22: Missing Report Case

Under Wayne Manor, someone is spending their time investigating Jonas Crane.

Details of the Event:

On the 2nd week of November, 5hrs after their son has been missing, Mr. and Mrs. Cane, an affluent Gotham Elite went to report a missing person file report to Gotham City Police Department.

Mr. and Mrs. Cane stated that the chauffeur that was supposed to escort their son home has been stuck in traffic for an hour as a result of a Gang Fight. The Cane Family's Chauffeur reasoned that it wouldn't happen if Batman was there to stop those Gangs according to Mrs. Cane. Nonetheless, despite the excuses and how many years the chauffeur has served them, both Mr. and Mrs. Cane decided to dismiss the Chauffeur from his job after they learned that he didn't immediately report that their son went missing and instead tried to look for the young Jonas Cane and tried to solve it on his own. It was only around 6:00 of the evening that Mrs. Cane received a call from the Chauffeur. After both Mr. and Mrs. Cane went home and dismissed the Chauffeur from his job, they then went to report their missing son here at the Gotham City Police Department.

Actions Taken:

After the report, the Gotham City Police Department immediately took action. Such an influential family like the Cane wasn't to be ignored by the Gotham City Police Department if they didn't want to be scolded by their superiors. Despite being not on the same level as the top 4 founding families of Gotham, when it comes to being one of the most wealthiest and influential, the Cane family is within the top 10.

The Gotham City Police Department dispatch a squad in charge of tackling and investigating the missing person report. There were people in that squad that went to Gotham Elementary to ask for CCTV records and ask for possible witnesses of the missing Jonas Crane. On the other hand, some people were in charge of waiting for calls and accompanying Jonas Cane's parents if it happened to be a kidnapping case and the kidnapper went to demand a ransom.

After the investigation, it was then found that Jonas Cane bumped into an unknown person and went to follow the person. An unknown person is a man in his early twenties possessing black hair and blue eyes. The Gotham City Police Department wasn't able to find the identity of the man. As if he didn't exist. Upon asking both the Cane, Mrs. Cane responded that she didn't recognize the person. But for Mr. Cane, the person looks oddly familiar to him for some reason but he can't recall the details.

Friday then went and passed and the case was looking hopeless. Both of the Cane was growing desperate and angry. As well as feeling hopeless that their son is still okay and alive. The public announcement on television for any information regarding where could be the Cane heir and someone who could identify the kidnapper's identity was fruitless.

But then Saturday just after the Friday passed and an hour have passed, the vigilante Ragman went to Gotham City Police Department went to deliver the young Jonas Cane with his clothes stained red and containing different scars on his body. Ms. Essen was sent to accompany the child and to garner details about his kidnapper or what happened to him. And also to see if the young Jonas Cane developed a trauma while the other police officers went to call his parents while the others continue looking for some clues about his kidnapper.

It was then discovered that the Young Jonas Cane developed a very severe case of amnesia. That may have to do with the traumatic experience under the hands of his kidnapper and possible murderer. Looking at the amount of blood stain and the scars all over Jonas Cane's body, the young Jonas Cane has possibly manifested his dormant meta gene saving him from the brink of death with his newly discovered ability.

Mr. and Mrs. Cane then arrived and arrived and have a reunion with their son. After talking to Ms. Essen and some of the other police officers in charge of their son's case, the Cane Family then returned home with their amnesiac son. Around 3:00 am on Saturday, the Vigilante Ragman then went to return to the Gotham City Police Department in a foul mood as the vigilante has gone to investigate the places where he discovered the young Jonas Cane. The Vigilante Ragman discovered a shed in Aparo Park where the Ragman has seen a bloodstained spot on the floor and a lot of daggers.

After some investigation and testing, the Gotham City Police Department discovered that the blood matched the DNA of Jonas Crane. Young Jonas Crane should have died but his saving grace was the meta abilities that saved him from the brink of death.

The gathered daggers show no traces of fingerprints that could be analyzed. And the investigation was stuck. The doctor who then analyzed Jonas Cane's DNA couldn't trace any signs of Meta Gene on his body. Despite that, Jonas Cane is still a metahuman but his abilities may have come from outside sources. It was also then discovered that Jonas Cane lose his ability to involuntarily blink.

Around Sunday, Mr. Cane came and requested for the case to keep under wraps and not spread any information about Jonas Cane being a metahuman and his amnesia. He also has given them an ultimatum. If 1 month has passed and they didn't still discover the location and identity of the suspect, they should stop their investigation.

It may possible that Mr. Cane had discovered the identity of the murderer but he was keeping his lips tight about it.

The sounds of footsteps approaching the supercomputer also known as the batcomputer could be heard. The footsteps then stopped when it was near the batcomputer.

" Demon Brat, you are grounded and forbidden to approach the Batcave. Alfred and Dick wouldn't be happy if they hear this. Wait! Why did you hack the Gotham City Police— Jonas Cane? Isn't that your Classmate?"

" Shut up, Drake. I have no time to argue with you. "

Tim Drake ignored Damian and then went to read Jonas Cane's files. The more information that he read, the more permanent the frown was on his face.

" How odd.. "

He said in contemplation. But then, his communication device suddenly lit up.

{ Robin, are you there? Scarecrow has finally made his move. 7 cinema in different locations is being bombarded with fear gas. I have already sent Nightwing to one of the cinemas. I was requesting you for accompanying him there as a backup.}

" Okay, Oracle."

{ I am relaying the location to you right now— What is he doing in the Batcave? Isn't he grounded?}

" The Demon Brat is stubborn."

Tim Drake ignored the glare directed at him and then left the Batcave. After a while, one of the monitors of the batcomputer lit up, and the face of Barbara Gordon was shown.

{ You're going to ignore Alfred and Dick's orders.}

It wasn't a question but a fact.

{ Then please at least wear a domino mask this time and don't kill people Damian. And remember to bring a gas mask. }

" You don't need to order me around Gordon."

{ I am not ordering you, I am requesting you. And no names in the field. }

" You called my name. "

{ True. How about we think of a temporary Codename for you? }

Damian then ignored Barbara and went into the changing room and change his clothes into his league of assassins uniform. He was now wearing a domino mask on his face and there was a sword with a sheath attached to his back as he went back in front of the bat computer to grab a communicator aid and attached it to his ear.

{ I hope that the sword would be just used as intimidation and not as a weapon, Damian. }

Damian didn't reply as he left the Batcave riding the batmobile. Much to Barbara Gordon's surprise, the location that Damian went to isn't where Nightwing and Robin are located but the one where the Huntress who is one of the members of birds of prey is dispatched.
