Telling Bruce

Bruce Wayne walked into Wayne mansion exhausted. Today has been a very stressful day at the office, and all he wanted to do was relax. Hopefully Gotham could live without him for a day because he had a feeling he wasn't going on patrol today.

He was greeted by his old friend Alfred Pennyworth once he entered the house.

"Ah Master Bruce you are home. I believe Master Dick had something to tell you." Alfred greeted trying to act casual.

"Hello Alfred, and what about Dick?" Bruce asked.

"He requested to speak to you. I believe he is in his room." Alfred said grabbing Bruce's coat, and hanging it up. Bruce slowly walked up the steps thinking about what Dick could possibly want to tell him. Did someone hurt him? Find out his identity? Maybe he was being threatened. Bruce finally reached Dicks room, and knocked on his door softly.

"Dick, are you in there? Alfred said you wanted to talk to me." Bruce spoke waiting for a response. He was silent for a second before a response was heard.

"... Um yeah... You can come in." Dick replied. Bruce entered and saw Dick sitting on his bed. He looked as if he couldn't keep still. Much like a certain speedster Bruce knew.

"What did you want to tell me?" Dick paused for a moment unsure of how to say the right words.

"It's something that happened at school today."

"Dick what happened? Did someone try to hurt you?" Bruce questioned now getting worried. He knew that Dick was constantly bullied by other classmates because of his past or the fact that he was a billionaires kid. He was often called things like circus freak or charity case.

"The staff at my school thinks..."

"Dick, what do they think? Did they find out your identity?"

"The staff... And Barbara... They think you're abusing me." He said tears at his eyes. Bruce stood there wide eyed shocked at what he had to say. Not once had anyone ever accused Bruce of abuse. Did Bruce even seem like that type person? Someone who would abuse a poor child who lost his parents at the age of nine.

"Why do they think that Dick?"

"Because all of the injuries I have had from being Robin." Dicks tears fell harder. He knew it was tough for Dick to think that he might lose more family, especially if even one of his best friends believed the rumor.

"It's okay," Bruce sighed running his had though his hair," We will sort this out and soon it will just be a small rumor in the past. Don't worry." Bruce said seeing how worried Dick was. Bruce knew he was afraid he would lose another person he cared about. He may have been the boy wonder, but no one should go through that, and especially not more than once.

"Please... Please don't leave me." Dick said as tears fell from his eyes.

"Don't worry.... I won't..." Bruce hugged him in a strange, yet soothing way. Dick hugged back, and cried into Bruce's shoulders. Dick silently shook while Bruce held him.

Bruce was going to make sure he wasn't separated from Dick. Richard Grayson had already lost too much family, and Bruce was going to make sure that he didn't lose more.
