THEY ALL FOUND MAX, STARING AT the wall as she explained that she had seen the clock, that it was so lifelike.

"It was like you were in a trance or something, exactly what happened to Chrissy," he explained and Max turned around, worried.

They got back to the office, Max showing them the files, "Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelley for help. They were both having headaches and then nightmares, trouble sleeping, cold sweats, hallucinations," she explained.

Bea placed a hand on Maxs shoulder as she stood behind the girl, "The visions got worse and worse until everything ended. Chrissys headaches started a week ago, Fred's 6 days ago, I've been having them for 5,"

Bea looked over at Steve, both of them sharing the same worried look. They really took on the role as the parents of the group and right now, they were going to look after Max until the end.

"I don't know much but they both died 24 hours after their first vision and I just saw that god damn clock so, looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow," she said.

Before anyone could panic or freak out, they heard a door swing open outside, "Stay here," Steve said, picking up a tall lamp and rushing outside.

"Stay here my ass," she said when he left, the group following him out into the hallway.

Steve yelled when Lucas ran round the corner, ready to hit him, "It's me!" He yelled out

"What's wrong wrong you Sinclair! I could have taken you out with this lamp!" Steve exclaimed, waving it around a bit.

Lucas apologised, completely out of breath, "I was biking for eight miles, give me a second, we've got a code red. Dustin, I've been with Jason, Patrick and Andy and they've gone off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie and think you and Bea know where he is," he explained.

"That definitely socks but we've got bigger problems than Jason now," Bea said, explaining the situation to him.

Monday 24th March

THE NEXT MORNING BEA LAY ON
the couch in the Wheelers basement, fast asleep as Dustin explained the curse to Lucas and Steve.

"God, this doesn't make sense," Steve said, running a hand through his hair, "I've gotta call Calahan, get him to give Bea a day off,"

Steve dialed the number through the Wheelers home phone, leaning against the door as he waited to be patched through.

"Hey Officer, this is Steve Harrington speaking. Just wanted to let you know that Bea can't come in today, lady troubles," he explained, getting to the point.

"Steve? Why isn't she telling me this herself? Is this just an excuse for you two to spend the morning in bed?" He asked.

Steve chuckled, "No, she's asleep, really bad lady problems today, woke up very sick,"

"You didn't get her pregnant did you because I swear to God Harrington if y-" Calahan started to rant.

Steve looked at the phone confused, cutting him off, "No, no. Just, can she have the day off or not Calahan?" He asked.

Calaban sighed into thr phone, "Fine, but you tell her that when she gets back after spring break, she owes me,"

He hung up, looking at the boys before watching Bea wake up, her eyes fluttering open as she looked around the room.

"Hey guys," she said, stretching as she woke up, smiling as she saw Steve, "Is Max okay?"

She jumped up in her seat slightly, "Yeah, she's been writing all night, we don't think she slept," Steve explained, "I also called in sick for work for you, Calahan said this was your one exception.

"We have a plan!" Nancy announced as she ran downstairs, looking at the group.

She explained that her and Robin were going undercover as psychology students from Notre Dame doing a study on Creel and they're going in today to tak to the director.

"Where's mine?" Bea asked, noticing there was only two folders for Robin and Nancy.

"You're the only girl Max truly trusts here so we thought it was best for you to be with her," Robin explained.

Bea nodded, understanding exactly what they meant. She needed to be there for Max.

The girls left, leaving Bea, Steve, Dustin and Lucas to huddle up on the couch, Bea practically in Steves lap. She was terrified for Max.

She walked over, looking at the group, handing out letters to the group, "And can you give these to Mike, El and Will when you get ahold of them," she explained.

"Don't open it now, it's a fail safe if things don't work out,"

"Come here kid," she said, getting up and pulling the girl in for a hug, gently rubbing her back, "What do you need?"

"I want to go to East Hawkins," she said and Bea agreed, the group heading to the cars.

Bea sat in the passenger seat, the silence awkward for everyone involved. Steve kept driving, occasionally looking in the mirror to check on the kids in the back.

She was nervous as hell, she was really close with Max and wasn't going to let her die so easily. She always forgot that these kids were teenagers now but to her they still felt like kids to her.

Steve noticed her stress, placing a hand on her thigh and smiling at her. She placed her hand on top of his, the two smiling at one another.

He could sense that she was stressed and despite their petty issues that they'd been having recently, he still loved her, he still wanted her to be okay.

After dropping off the letters for her mum and her siblings, Max requested to he driven to the Roane Hill Cemetery, where Billy had been buried.

Max got out of the car, Lucas chasing after her for one last conversation. They watched, hoping that they were going to live and this was all going to go back to normal, like it was before.

Bea was beginning to worry, she'd been out there for a while and she could tell that Steve was on edge as well. She took his hand on hers, rubbing the pad of her thumb over his knuckles, watching the tension fade from his shoulders.

"She's gonna be okay Steve," She reassured, half to herself and half to him.

Max was an amazing person and rhe two got on like a house on fire but after Billy's death, Max had drifted away from most people but she still kept in contact with Bea, even if the girl had to go to her house every week to check if she was doing okay.

The idea that zhe could die out there made her sick to her stomach and all she wanted to do was swap places with her and shield her from that fate but she knew she was strong and that she'd make it through.

"All right, it's been long enough," he said, checking his watch and storming up the hill to check on her.

He knelt by her side, noticing that her eyes had rolled back in her head and he began to call her name, shaking her slightly.

"Oh shit," Bea muttered before running up the hill, the boys following shortly after.

They were trying to wake her up, shaking her. Bea was calling her name, eyes wide as she began to panic. She couldn't loose Max as well.

Steve turned to Dustin, eyes wide as he grabbed his shirt, "Call the girls, now!" He exclaimed, adrenaline pumping through his body.

Dustin began to run to the car, grabbing the walkie talkie and screaming into it until they answered, explaining that it was music that could save her. He grabbed all of the cassettes in the car and ran.

"What is this! She's dying we can't listen to music!" Bea exclaimed, tears brimming in her eyes.

"What's her favourite song?" Dustin asked, "Robin said - it's too much to explain right now - what's her favourite song?"

Bea tried to think back to the afternoons spent in Maxs trailer but she could think, her hands shaking as she looked through the tapes.

She picked up the Kate Bush one, holding it out, "Lucas, I think this is it," she stated.

Lucas nodded, watching as the girl fumbled to put it in the Walkman. She put the headphones over her head before beginning to play the music.

All of a sudden, her body began to float and they all jumped up, calling out for her to come back.

Bea leaned back into Steves embrace, her heart pounding as she looked up at the girl, feeling utterly useless.

That's when she fell back down, Lucas managing to catch her in his arms, the boy holding her tight.

Bea took a deep breath, heart pounding as she looked at the girl. "I thought we lost you," Lucas muttered, closing his eyes.

"I'm still here," she whispered, looking out at the group, "Thanks,"

They didn't know that Max had seen visions of their past, the memories flashing by. Memories of her and Lucas, of Halloween with Dustin, going to Scoops with El and when Bea would visit her trailer to check up on her. They didn't know that they'd saved her.
