It was a memorable win for their school, especially if you held a very personal grudge with the opponent.

That was the case for Jungwon and Jihee.

She couldn't forget the slight smirk Jungwon wore as their team received a trophy. Not that he was arrogant about winning, he just like putting undeserving people in their places. And one of those people was banner boy whose nasty expression brought joy to Jihee's heart.

She could still vividly recall when he tried elbowing Jungwon at the fourth quarter, luckily he managed to avoid it by a hair. She was about to approach him and give him his congratulations but their coach had already pulled them to the locker room. She remained seated as everyone stood up, including Sunoo who had things to do.

Byeol vanished as well but she really couldn't care less what that girl was up to, they weren't really the closest of friends to have the rights to snoop in each other's business. Plus she could only guess that Byeol was contemplating whether she should congratulate Sunghoon or not, because it was very clear she still had a thing for him. Jihee of all people knew what the two has been through, she wouldn't dare question why the latter was having a hard time moving on.

"They are fated for each other." Jihee murmurs which was meant to be said in a sweet tone but rather a hint of envy appeared. Fated for each other.

She knew very well who Jungwon was fated to be with, and although she messed up his fate the
chances of them meeting, still remain large. She never wanted to be a human, she always thought it would take her a couple more hundred years for her to find the right reality to settle at, but she never would've thought it would take only a hundred to meet the person that would make her want to stay.

It was rather premature for her to make a decision whether she should stay or not, but the more time she spent acting like a teenager, the more she wanted to stay.

Even if she loved the thrill of an adventure, she also loved the moments she spends with him.

She was addicted to something she wasn't even sure she could have.

Standing up, she decided to look for Jungwon because really, when has she ever been patient? Opening the door to the locker room, she was very surprised to see the most annoying bug in her life, some may call her Inseong but Jihee preferred to call her an annoyance.

"What are you doing here? Sunghoon's probably already out with his team." Jihee's eyes narrowed, not really looking forward to carrying a conversation with Inseong.

"Of course I know he's out." Inseong rolled her eyes, and Jihee had to clasp her hands so she wouldn't do something she'll regret later on. "I was waiting for you."

She tilts her head sideways. "Oh? You're really a surprise today, aren't you Inseong? But sadly, I don't have the time for you."

"You're looking for Jungwon, right?" Inseong asked, which resulted to Jihee tensing for a second. "For someone new, you sure have a way with men."

"Jealous?"

"I have my own ways too."

"I bet you do." Jihee rolled her eyes, growing more and more impatient as the conversation continues. "Again, I have no time for you. Go do your thing."

From the corner of her eye, she could see Inseong clenching her fist out of anger perhaps. "He's at the back of the school. They always have some initiation after their games."

Jihee looked at her, probably in the most pressuring way. Unclasping her hand, she walked towards the latter and Inseong cowardly steps back.

Then she stopped to give her a smile. "You dislike me that much, huh?"

And she swore, if Inseong was any more fantastical than human, smoke would've escaped from her nostrils. Turning her back on the girl, just as she was about to twist the doorknob, she spoke for one last time.

"I was first! I was first with Sunghoon! Before Byeol, before you, it was me!"

She blinked. "I know." Finally, she slammed the door.

The back of the school, huh?

She smirked. "Finally they made their move."

Jungwon was heading to Jihee after talking with his teammates but someone had informed him she was at the back of the school, arguing with Inseong about something.

He wasn't a fool to not realize that something meant Sunghoon.

It was no brainer to everyone that Inseong has always loved Sunghoon, how that came to happen no one really knew. Running to the back of the school, he hoped nothing has happened to her or to the opposing party. They wouldn't be there if the fight wasn't heating up.

And upon arriving there, he heard no sort of yelling from any familiar voices. But what he did see is of course Kyungho and his notorious... well friends weren't the right term to call them. Kyungho was in a wheelchair, probably still recovering from the pain Jihee had caused him.

Then he realized why he was there in the first place.

They wanted to get back at Jihee.

Oh that's a bad idea.

"You don't want to mess with her." Jungwon was the first to speak. "She's true to her words."

And he swore, he saw the other members shudder in fear. His lips were threatening to curve upwards, finding some amusement in the fear she had instill upon them. What he said was true, if she claims she'll do something to them, then she'll do it. She never makes empty threats, not when she's capable of turning it into reality.

"Oh so you know why you're here? Well that makes our job easier." Kyungho's disgusting voice finally spoke. "We'll just beat you up, that's all so when she gets here, we have something against her."

He was almost flattered that they would think he was her achilles' heel. But he was sure if she did have one, it would be protected with armor stronger than the strongest metal to ever exist. And surprisingly, he felt this odd sense that he wanted to protect her even if she didn't need it.

He didn't want Kyungho to even step foot near her proximity. And feeling unprovoked with just a touch of bravery, he smiled and opened his arms wide.

"Try me."

Now Kyungho was the one who felt provoked. Pointing his finger at Jungwon, his men slowly approached him, ready to beat him into pulp. Although he wasn't as skilled as Jihee, he was trained to fight especially since his parents insisted on it.

He just never thought he would put it to good use.

They swung his fist at him and he would dodge it, then he would retaliate by swinging his own fist. Just strong enough to knock them down. He hated fighting, he hated the violence but just the thought that they wanted to hurt her, angered him and the adrenaline rush it caused.

Kyungho seemingly didn't anticipate that Jungwon knew how to fight. And his jaw clenched at anger.

Though unlike Jihee, it took him quite a while to finish them all off and during that long and awful process, the star herself arrived.

She watched Jungwon fight Kyungho's underlings, her expression filled with amusement and pride. But she knew she had to break the fight off, he after all hated to use violence against anyone.

"Jungwon! Pull out!" She hollered to him, finally catching his attention. Dodging the punch one last time, he ran to her direction and blocked her with his body. "No need to protect me."

"I know, dummy. I just don't like how Kyungho's staring at you." He tells her and she managed to smile even in the most awful time.

"Now move aside so I can permanently make him unable to have children." She tells moving him to the side but he didn't budge. "Jungwon!" She hissed.

"Just that?"

Although it caught her off guard, she couldn't help but feel something evil awaken in her. "Maybe more."

"Just don't kill him." He loved the danger that was attached to her.

"I wouldn't dare."

Finally he stepped aside, allowing the devil to unleash herself.
