Chapter Three: The Dream

The long and grueling day of the auditions finally ended. The young Japanese trainee whose stage name was Billie had been the last to perform and she had truly outdone any vocalist in the competition, including me.

She was walking in front of me now, wearing an eccentric light blue baby doll dress, and her black hair was in two buns on top of her head. She was a full head and a half shorter than me and couldn't be much taller than 5 foot 3.

"I really liked your audition," a female voice drifted my way, and to my surprise, it had come from Lux's mouth.

I bowed quickly and gave her a big smile. "Thank you so much, sunbaenim."

"Please call me Lux," she entered one of the three black busses first. They would take us to the training center and sleeping quarters for the next eight months.

I followed her in and noticed other trainees giving us stares. We walked towards the middle of the bus, and as she asked me to join her, I sat down in front of two girls who were not friendly as they gave us dark looks full of judgment.

"Oh, how I've missed my pre-debut days and their catty girls," Lux drawled sarcastically.

I could not relate. This was my first time trying out for my actual dream job of becoming an idol. I have been a model for years, but singing has always been my one true passion.

I could never tell her this, but Lux had been my inspiration. I know every song she ever wrote by heart, and I have been following her life for years now.

Now she was sitting next to me, and I was actually having a conversation with my bias!

Life can be strange sometimes and I had a feeling this competition was about to become an even stranger ride.
