Chapter Five: Ultimate Bias

"Have you seen the news?" Keita said with a big smile on his cute face as he sat himself down next to Matthew and me in the dining hall. It was our first lunch at Star Planet, and it looked ratchet, to be honest.

I was stirring into my soup with my spoon, my stomach protesting.

The three of us had hit it off instantly. We were in opposite dorm rooms, so last night our two rooms had bonded over some Soju, and we had also been cast in the same subgroups for the first mission. So I had spend the entire morning with them, and we also worked great together. It was already a win-win for me.

Keita showed us his phone, and I had to suppress my eyeroll.

"Another Kim Taehyung article, Keita? Seriously?" I rolled my eyes but didn't hide my smile. Last night he had talked about his ultimate bias a lot, and we had already teased him about it this morning as we had drafted Fake Love from BTS as our first performance song.

Matthew gasped as he stared under the table at something on Keita's legs.

"What is that?"

"What? What is it?" My newfound friend said as he patted his legs down in fright.

"That Taehyung boner is almost poking through the table!" Matthew said dramatically before erupting into a fit of laughter.

I snorted out my spoonful of bland soup as Keita threw an overcooked chicken leg at Matthew's face.

"You haven't even read the thing!" Keita protested as he opened his phone again and showed the article one more time.

It said: 'Star Planet's first Star Master confirmed: Kim Taehyung will present the first live show'.

"They have never had a BTS member as a host! Like never ever!"

"He is doing his solo work soon," I replied. "It's probably for more promotion."

"You don't know him," Keita replied before he snapped the phone away. "He is too talented for this competition, and I don't know why he would waste his time. Yet, it is still very cool we get to see him."

"You are a trainee selected for this competition, Keita," I added. "I think that's way cooler than hosting a single live show."

Keita sighed deeply. "We have to do our very best for that first performance. Definitely when he will be watching!"

"We have to survive it," Matthew agreed as he plucked a grape from my plate and ate it. I nodded. We, indeed, have to get through this first round.

I glanced at the clock.

"We better get going. We don't want to be late for the second half," this morning, we entered our training room B late, and Miyoko, our self-appointed leader, was not pleased. I guess we shouldn't have indulged in that much Soju on our first night.

We were the three weirdos in our trainee group already and didn't want to stand out more.

I rose from my seat, and the guys followed. Matthew was texting his girlfriend and barely paying attention to where he was going. He had told us last night that he and Lily had been dating for four months. We all knew what that meant.

When debut comes, that thing needs to be done with.
