A tight grip|Joseph

As an adult you were expected to be 'mature', to have everything figured out by the age of 20 and have a stable career by then. You were none of those things. It tore you up on the inside for a while. However! It helped having the advice of older, and semi-wiser, men to help.

You hadn't ment to come crawling into the older man's room like this. Like some scared five years old. You felt ashamed in waking him up, he talking to him on the balcony like this. The sun wasn't even up yet! He must have been annoyed with you,a stand user who was too scared to be alone with her thoughts, how pathetic!

But you couldn't help it,if you were alone with your thoughts for one more second you'd go nuts!

"I dont think iv even told my mom this mr.
Jostar, but I'm terrified of failure," you confessed,"Like the very idea of something going wrong terrifies me and I don't know why!" That fear had taken so many opportunities away from you! You knew you didn't stand a chance in those art competitions or that writing one. After all there were so many better, more talented writers than you. Now that you thought about it you were right in not going! Because knowing you'd lose was mind numbing,so to save yourself the pain, you'd nip it in the bud and just never compete.

"___, I-"

You never gave the man a chance to finish his sentence.

"I'm sorry for bothering you over this,it early and we've got more important things to worry about!" You laughed, scratching the inside of your arm,"Like seriously I'm sorry for trauma dumping on you like this outta no where,Especially considering you and Jotaro are going through something worse"

Jospeh could see that nervous body language a mile away. You were trying to run away from the situation, something he used to do when he was younger too. In his mind,he blamed the American school system for this. From what he'd seen, alot of young people would stress about being the 'perfect' member or society and take out lones they couldn't pay back to fit that standard. How these young adults mention that school would shove you into a box of sorts. 'If you didn't do xyz then you'd be a failure and homeless for the rest of your life' . That was the type of mentality those schools had.

"___,Your worth isn't determined by your grades or what scores you make; School," he put a hand on your shoulder,"Is just a small stepping stone, you've got your whole life ahead!"

"But," you remember the day a teacher had asked you what you wanted to be when you were older. Excitedly you said you wanted to be pyrotechnic! A person who made fireworks, you loved fireworks so much! But then she asked what your math grade was and you told her it was a D, she told you right then and there to think of something else,"I'm not...I'm not just bad at math, bad at science and history hell! I'm just bad at everything" you gave a humorless laugh.

You were amazed that you even graduated high-school! And now you were an adult, still living at home with mom and dad. The only reason you agreed to come was because the SWF was looking for any and extra help. So they made you sign a document you glanced over once and they sent a massive check to your parents. Of course they had no idea about your stand, they assumed you'd finally gotten recognized for...shit what lie did they even tell your parents? Well, you guess it didn't really matter, you were already here in Egypt.

"You aren't bad,___,you just haven't found what your looking for, look at me,I practically never went to high and I genuinely thought I was going to be a failure for the rest of my life but you can become something, life isn't a box to check in like they do at school," he let you rest your head on his shoulder,"You're more than enough,___, you don't fit into that stupid box because it's impossible! You've got so much personality and creativity"

Maybe it was the need for comfort but you grabbed onto his shirt. Was he right? Could someone like you really become something? You didn't have any special talents, you weren't extremely intelligent like Jotaro or creative like Mr.Jostar. You had your perks but you weren't a master like some of them.

You'd only been sought out for you ability to make sure no body lost any limbs and-

"Hey old man we-" Joyaro slammed the door open and you just about jumped put of your skin!

"Oh h-hey!" You cleared your throat,"Hey, I'll let yall talk, sorry for bothering you Mr.Jostar"

The older man could see those walls shoot right back up and sighed, annoyed that his grandson had interpreted.

You'd practically ran out the room but he hoped that his words go through to you.

Life could be so hard on a teen.
