"Stop that," Spencer blurts out of nowhere, and you look up from the book you're reading, startled. He's staring at you blankly over his own much thicker book from his position on the opposite side of the couch, and you tilt your head a tiny bit to the side.

"Stop what?" You ask, and Spencer shakes his head. He returns to his book, and after poking him with your foot a couple times, you realize he isn't going to talk. So you sigh and give up, picking up your book and trying not to be distracted by the sound of his pages turning ten times faster than yours. But after a minute, you realize that the sound you're trying to tune out is not, in fact, there at all. You look up only to meet Spencer's eyes again, surprised once more by the fact that he must've been staring.

"Spencer, what is it?" You ask, closing your book and setting it to the side. He's being pretty weird. As the last bits of daylight stream in, you and Spencer routinely enjoy anywhere from ten to thirty minutes of reading together. It's not very special to the untrained eye, but you both make a point of reading before bed, even when he's away on a case and it's two different beds that you fall asleep in afterwards. It's a bit of tradition, really, something to keep you close. And right now, he's blatantly staring at you, not seeming to give a damn about his book.

"You have to stop doing that," he insists, and you laugh, exasperated. You lean forward, giving him a look.

"I'd love to stop it, Spence, but I have no idea what you want me to stop!" You exclaim, running your hands through your hair in frustration. You hear him groan, and snap your head up. He licks his lips slowly, and you start to get an idea of what this is about.

"Every time you touch your hair I just get more and more distracted," he whines quietly. A smile creeps up on your face, and you crawl over and close the distance between you two. Keeping eye contact the entire time, you tear the book from his hands and set it aside as you straddle his hips.

In a burst of confidence and of evil, you take your hands and run them through your hair slowly, root to tip. He groans again, hands gravitating to rest on your hips.

"That's not fair!" He exclaims, whining like a child. You laugh and wrap your arms around his neck, playing with his hair in turn.

"Oh, please, don't tell me about unfair distractions, Mr. I-Must-Lick-And-Bite-My-Lips-Constantly," you retort, and it's Spencer's turn for a slow smile. He blushes and looks down, fingers fiddling with the hem of your shirt.

"Y-you really get distracted by that?" He asks, sheepish, and you can't help but laugh a little.

"Spencer, every time you do it I have to put all my effort into not losing my shit. It's aggravating, honestly. It makes me crazy, seeing you get to lick and bite the lips that I want to be licking and biting," you tease, voice just above a whisper. He meets your eyes, cheeks flushed for real now.

"How do you think I feel when you run your fingers through your hair? God, it just looks so soft, and I want to grab it and pull you closer, I want to push my hands through it," he explains, eyes darting around your face and hair like he can't decide where he wants to look the most. You lean in so that your mouth is on his ear, and you make sure your hair brushes his cheek.

"Then why don't you?" you whisper, and this absolutely pushes him over the edge. Spencer takes a rough hold on your hair, pulling your head so his lips can meet yours, just like he said. His lips are soft against yours, and you waste no time in deepening the kiss, using your tongue. He keeps his mouth closed, the little tease, so you're forced to run your tongue over his sealed lips. It makes you moan lightly, and you're mad that he knows exactly how to drive you up the wall. In the meantime, Spencer has his hands laced through your hair, one planted on the side just by your ear and the other playing with the baby hairs at the nape of your neck.

"Spencer," you say, pulling away a little, out of breath from the kiss. He looks up at you with concern, hands still residing in your hair.

"Is everything okay?" Spencer asks, and with the hand that's on your neck, he rubs his thumb soothingly back and forth.

"How are we supposed to do this?" you ask, looking down. He's seriously worried now, taking a hand out of your hair and tilting your head back up to meet his eyes. He searches your face for an answer, and it takes everything you have to not break into a smile.

"How are we supposed to go about our day without having sex every five minutes now? You know that lip biting turns me on, I know that messing with my hair turns you on, what do we do? We both do those things all the time, Spencer," you ask, finally letting yourself smile. It makes him laugh, and your heart lights up at the sound. He shakes his head, looking down and then back to you.

"Who's to say that having sex every five minutes is such a bad thing?"

I know saying what I'm about to say makes me a primo asshole but like. Y'all. This isn't meant to be a platform for me to show you a masterpiece to critique and improve. It's a goddamned reader insert fanfiction about a character from a campy cop show. I know it's the internet and it's inevitable that I'll get comments from 13 year olds telling me how unrealistic my story is, but I'm just asking for you guys to consider the context before you graciously let me know how little you think of my characterization. Thanks.

so I lied it wasn't 100% fluff don't act like you didn't love it
anybody want a part two? I'm on the fence let me know
