Main Story///Chapter Twenty One

The tap on the sink was left on as the birds made even more noise than the day before.

A child laid sleeping in a crib in the next room over.

This place was like a picture out of a fairytale, small wooden cottage, smoke seeping through the chimney, seemingly happy family.

The child would think that, but little did they know one of their parents was gone.

Familiar footsteps entered the room as the child was roused from sleep, its missed matched eyes stared into those of it's own.

The child was then lifted from the crib and was sat in the lap of its caretaker,

"Heya kiddo"

The child smiled at its caretaker earning a sad smile back,

"Listen kid, I need to tell ya something"

The child outstretched its tiny hand and reached for its caretakers fingers, luckily earning one to hold,

"Look, your um other parent. Is well, um, gone. But that probably wont matter to you since you barely knew him, but you still have the right to know about it"

The tiny child squealed, it was a soft sounding squeal. It appeased Dust so much he almost cried,

"God da- I mean....heck, your too cute for your own good"

The child was then placed back in the crib earning a whine, Dust smiled,

"Dont give me that look, hey. I came back here for you, don't make me leave"

The child tried it's best to look mad but it made it look even cuter, Dust chuckled,

"What am I saying? Of course I wouldn't leave I'd be stupid to. Afterall your all I have left of him"

Dust once again removed the child from the captivity of the crib and place it in his lap,

"Look I'm going to tell you this now and only now, you may not share this information with any other soul. Understand?"

His response was a couple of gurgling noises,

"Ok, I care for you. I care for you very much and even if I did go insane. I would still come and take care of you, because that's what Blue would've wanted. So I'm going to suck it up and be the best freaking dad anyone has ever seen ya got that kid?"

The child squealed again, Dust smiled,

"You know...your cuteness could kill someone if it had to Sprinkle"

Sprinkle giggled, latching his hand onto Dust's finger again, finding much enjoyment in it.

Dust smiled down at his son and stared out of the window, a raven perched itself on the fence post outside, Dust frowned,

"I swear on my life Sprinkle, nothing is ever going to happen to you, nothing"

Sprinkle smiled again, Dust did too, the everlasting bond between the two was unbreakable not even the death of a close family member could ever undo it.

And that's exactly what Blue would've wanted.
