Chapter 2: Bedazzled

Software was asleep with his paw still on top of my hair and him leaning towards me. Part of me wanted to move to get his paw off of me so I can lay down and sleep but the other part of me didn't want to move and wake him up. I shut my eyelids as I tried to force myself to fall asleep. Seconds passed by and by as nothing happened and I opened my eyes once again. Software was barely snoring as his head rest on his left shoulder like a pillow. His golden crown wrapped around his right ear and stood upright through the whole night. His cape was tied around the gold and scarlet throne. My mind kept questioning what time it possibly is since I have no way of telling it besides the light outside. The whole kingdom was still darkened by the night sky as it had been for what seemed like hours so that didn't tell me anything. My neck turned to the right slowly to begin and look out the clear windows behind the thrones. Each inch or two made me scared that Software would wake up from his nights sleep and make a bunch of noise.

The clear glass showed a peaceful image of snow falling to the already snow covered ground, a wall of trees in the back, and stars lighting up the night sky.

"It's pretty isn't it?" A voice said in my left ear.

I turned my head back around to see Software up and looking at me. "Yeah, it is... it's interesting how you have built this empire on top of this forest but have still made it look natural."

"I know. I am super proud of it. We don't take down anything unless needed. This castle was built on an empty plot of land some of these buildings were here for what seems like forever."

"That's... well.... Interesting... Do you have any food. I haven't eaten in forever." I asked the brightly colored arctic fox.

"Harry, can you please head out and get some food for the little boy?" Software yelled down at the bunny who brought me here.

"Yes, your majesty." He said while dropping everything and walking to the entrance door.

"Thank you, Harry!" Software yelled at him before the bunny shut the door.

He shut the door as I turned to look back outside. I heard a little shuffling in my left ear and moments later felt a pair of fluffy arms wrap around my neck. Software hugged me and pulled me close to him. Part of me was going to say something until I felt his fur. It was really soft and cozy. I got on both of my knees to get around the arctic foxes height as I wrapped my arms around his waist to pull him close to me. He put his head on top of mine as we embraced. I pulled my head out from under his and asked a question while we were still embraced.

"Where's Frosty at? Doesn't he live here with you?" I asked.

"How do you know about my future husband?" Software asked with a serious tone.

"I created you. You created me. We know everything about each other. You created Frosty." I told him.

"Don't say that. He doesn't know that." The arctic fox told me with a whispering tone before going back to a loud one. "Oh yeah, my honey bun." Software said as his face lit up. "Frosty! Come and meet our new pet!" Software then yelled.

"What are you talking about? You woke me up." A voice yelled from down the long hallway.

"Honey bun, we got a new pet. We got him last night while you were sleeping." Software yelled down the hall again.

Software moved his body around to face down the stairs. I lost my grip around his waist but he still kept his hold around my neck. A little taller than average arctic fox walked around the corner. He had bright yellow fur covering his tail as well as his arms and legs. He wore Soft's first red cape that he ever owned. His eyes met mine with a questioned expression.

"He's.... Real?...." Frosty asked Software while slowly walking up the stairs.

"Yeah, he just showed up here and he's our new pet." Software said while taking his arms off of my neck and showing Frosty by bedazzled golden collar.

"You and your diamonds. I'm surprised you haven't bedazzled your pink dress yet." He said while laughing and hugging Soft.

"That's it! I wanted to bedazzle something the other day and it was this dress. That would take such a long time though..." The caped arctic fox said.

"Maybe you can also bedazzle J.J.'s entire outfit. He might like that." Frosty told Soft.

Software looked down at me with sparkly eyes and mouth wide open.

"You would look adorable." He told me.

"Go ahead. Just let me change first please." I told him.

"You don't even have to take your outfit off. I can do it while you're still wearing it." He told me while grabbing my leash and began running down the stairs and down the hall.

"That fox and his glitter.... I love him." Frosty said while giggling.

I turned around and waved at Frosty while we were going down the hall. We went down to the end of the hall and into a room with tons of different fabrics, a sewing machine, and a table full of glue and glitter. Software sat me down in the chair in the middle of the room and tied my leash to one of the chair legs. Software then pushed the table full of glue and glitter to behind my chair as he pulled up my cape and set it on there.

"First is always the cape. You don't really wear capes do you?" Software asked me.

"If it's a costume party I would but other than that, not really. From my time, capes aren't a fashion trend." I told him.

"It's a shame that you don't wear them more often. This golden cape really makes your brown hair and blue eyes stand out. You look adorable in it is what I am saying." Software explained while gluing little tiny golden diamonds to the cape.

"So what am I basically? I look like a prince in this outfit but you and Frosty aren't even married." I asked the fox.

"J.J.... You aren't our kid. You're our pet. We walk you, feed you, and bedazzle your capes. That's it." Software replied with in a sort of strict tone.

"So... no going outside? No exploring Wintergreen Village?" I asked in return.

"No.... You're a human. People would be scared of you. Why would you want to leave anyways? Harry can get anything for all of us without us even having to move a muscle." Software replied with.

"Don't you want to talk to the townsfolk and see what they think about you being king and all? You could be potentially hated in the public eye but you never know unless you go ask yourself." I mentioned to Soft.

He stopped gluing and thought about a response. I looked back at him and my cape with half of it being sparkly and reflective. Software was staring down at my cape in disappointment.

"I'm not saying that it is a fact. You're a good king in my eyes. Plus that crown really suits you." I told Software to lift his spirits up.

He walked over to me and hugged me around the neck again. After some moments, he went back to working on the cape. There was a long and narrow window on the wall to show outside with the sun finally coming up and shining into the room.

"J.J., get up. I want to see your cape in the sunlight." The white and cyan arctic fox told me.

I got up and turned my back to the window as Software ran to see how the cape looked. "It's beautiful. My little pet looks adorable in a prince outfit." Software told me while grabbing onto my cape and getting a closer look at it.

I smiled and looked at Soft admiring my cape. He jumped up on the chair and patted my head twice.

"Good boy. Now you can sit and let me finish your cape." Software told me while he jumped off the chair and pulled my cape back onto the table.
