A lot of pacing and worrying

"Can you find the security office?" Coulson asked Fitz, who was tapping into Transia's security feed in Coulson's office.

   He nodded.

"Wait," Lincoln said.

"Is that Giyera?" Fitz asked as a man appeared on the screen.

"That's him. I'd know his face anywhere," Simmons replied, and I could hear  a bit of contempt in her voice.

I opened my mouth to speak, but Fitz answered my question before I even asked it.

"He's an Inhuman working for Hydra. Has telekenesis. Pure evil," He said, and I could tell he hated him.

  I raised an eyebrow.

"Fitz hates him extremely since he tortured me," Simmons said.

I glanced at Fitz and he looked as if he wanted to punch something just from that thought.

"You hear what Andrew was saying, Lincoln? Even he thinks he's serving some higher purpose," Coulson said.

"Yeah. Maybe it's true, then. Maybe Daisy and Charles were brought together for a reason," Lincoln said.

"Could be. Also, could be you all are crazy and this is pointless and nothing we see here will make any sense," Coulson said and started to turn towards the screen, just in time to see this creepy-looking dude wearing some sort of black coat thing.

But from the look on everyone else's face, he was more than just some dude to them.

"Okay, why am I the only one who has no clue who this dude is?" I asked.

"Was that Ward?" Lincoln asked.

"Unfortunately... I think that's something else," Fitz said.

"First of all, who is Ward?" I asked, feeling completely lost.

"He used to be on our team, until we found out he was a lying, murderous traitor. He died on an alien planet," Coulson explained.

"Ah, that clears everything up. Now I have even more questions!" I exclaimed, exasperated.

"We'll tell you everything later," Coulson said.

"What is she walking into?" Simmons muttered.

I glanced at the others. I think we were all thinking the same thing.

"This is too much for her to take on by herself. We have to go help her," Lincoln said.

We all nodded.

"Agreed. This is definitely not playing out how we hoped," Coulson said. "Fitzsimmons, Lincoln, get ready to go," Coulson said and the three of them nodded and left.

"Ok, Cori, you're staying here," he said, turning to me.

I nodded, knowing it would be pointless to argue.

I sighed and turned to leave, then stopped and looked back at Coulson.

  "Sir?" I said quietly.

"Yes?"

  "Just be careful."

********

Why do I pace so often?

Well, it helps get my mind off of things.

I like to do it when I'm bored, impatient, or nervous, and since I was all three while waiting for news on what was happening on the mission, I was pacing a ton.

They'll be OK. No one will die. They'll make it. They can do it. Everything will be OK.

I kept repeating stuff like that over and over again in my head, but for some reason I didn't believe it.

Finally, I got a text from Simmons.

Coulson just went into the building. How are things? If you're bored, Fitz says you can use the lab  as long as you're careful.

I smiled. She was always so concerned with how I was doing.

 I began to text back.

Ok, if can could you keep me posted? Things are fine, but yeah, I am a little bored and nervous. Tell Fitz I said thank you!

I walked into the lab and waited for a reply.

Sure, if we find out anything, I'll let you know. How are you feeling? Is your arm feeling alright? Did you take the medication I gave you? How does your head feel?

I smiled as I read her text. There she was again, Doctor Simmons.

And Fitz says you're welcome! She added.

Thanks. I'm feeling fine. My arm feel fine, but I hate casts. They're uncomfortable. And yes, I took the medication. And my head feels fine, I replied.

Ok, just remember not to move around too much. I need to go now, but I'll let you know if there are any further developments. Bye!

   Bye.

I sighed and put my phone away.

I just had this feeling that something bad was going to happen.

I tried to keep myself busy by looking around the lab, but I couldn't get my mind off of that feeling.

   Suddenly I got another text.

Coulson got to Daisy. She's going up onto the roof to get Charles. Lincoln saw Ward. I'll update you again soon.

  Ok, thanks.

I sighed. It seemed like the Fitz was right. It was playing out just as it had in the vision. The only question was, whos death did she see?

I waited for what seemed like forever, hoping the next text I got was that my sister was dead.

Finally, I got a text. I took out my phone, preparing for the worst.

We're coming home. Daisy was injured, but she's alive. Charles didn't make it.

I sighed. I was having mixed emotions.

I was happy Daisy was safe, but I felt bad for the Hinton family. Especially their daughter.

How is everyone else?  I texted back.

   They're fine.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

I put my phone away, went to the hangar, and sat down. I wanted to greet Daisy as soon as she arrived.

I leaned against the wall and waited.

********

I sat on my bed, fiddling around with my necklace.

I was happy everyone was safe. I don't know what I would have done if any of them had died.

Simmons explained that it actually wasn't snow Daisy had seen Fitz and her standing in, it was actually pieces floating off of a burning billboard.

I asked them if they had held hands like in Daisy's vision, and to my delight, they said yes. They are so cute together.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.

  "Come in," I said.

"Hi," Daisy said and opened the door.

"Hi," I said and sat up.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

 "Better. You?"

"I'm ok. I've been strictly ordered to rest." She made a face.

  I laughed.

  "Join the club."

We were silent for a little bit.

  "Daisy?" I said.

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to tell you, I'm really glad you're alive. But please, next time, don't be stupid and try to do everything yourself. Ok?"

   "I can't make any promises."

"You know, you told me not to do anything stupid. I should have told that to you instead," I said.

 We both laughed again.

Daisy pulled my into a hug.

After a little bit, we let go of each other.

"I was thinking, since we both are supposed to rest, we could have a movie night. Have some popcorn, ice cream maybe," Daisy said

   I shrugged.

 "Sure. What movie?" I asked.

"Uh....I think we have Star Wars, or-"

"Wait," I cut her off. "Star Wars?"

"Yeah. You know, the force, lightsabers, Jedi," she said, and I gave her a blank look.

 "You haven't watched it!"

"You don't get to watch very many movies when you're a runaway. I lived with five other teenagers who had to rely on their own talents to survive. We only were able to watch movies if we were lucky enough to steal a ticket so we could go to a theater. And we didn't do that often," I explained.

"Ok then. That's what you're watching." She grabbed my hand. "Come on."

   We walked into the kitchen.

"Ok, I'll set up the movie, you get the food ready. I think we have some pizza in the fridge, and there might still be ice cream," She said and I nodded.

I heated up some pizza and popped the popcorn, and grabbed two cartons of ice cream. Chocolate for her, cookie dough for me.

"You ready?" Daisy said as she poked her head into the kitchen.

I nodded.

We went and sat on the couch, and I snuggled up next to her.

For that one, brief moment, we felt like a normal family. But we would never be that.

I know, that last part was random, but I enjoyed writing it. No joke, one night when I was lying in bed, I thought suddenly: Cori has probably never watched Star Wars. I couldn't help it! I had to have her watch it! XD
