8; night out

"good morning student of fallen angel academy! today is the first football game of the season! make sure to get your tickets in order to enter! students of fallen angel academy enter for free! come support the devils that are going against seoul academy! kick off starts at seven pm! good luck devils and let's win tonight!"

kids in class cheered at the intercom announcement, "i don't think anyone will win in this kind of weather." whispered niki causing jina to nod.

"alright class, get back to work." announced the teacher as she continued to do her work.

niki and jina began working on their art projects again talking about random things that happened through out the start of their day, "oh so! what did heeseung say about the football game today?" questioned niki as he continued to paint on his canvas.

"he said yes. he'll stay the night too but if he doesn't feel comfortable we'll leave." said jina as she sent niki a small nod.

the boy softly smiled, "you know...all my years i've been here...i never would've thought heeseung would've ever talked. you're definetly something to him."

jina slightly chuckled, "his dad and my dad were best friends. i'm sure the friendship i have with him is just you know...a coincidence."

niki shrugged, "hm..maybe..well i don't know...i mean it's not like you guys met when you were babies or kids. but i mean, it's cool though."

jina nodded, "yeah well, anyways, today for lunch i'll be with him because he wants to take some shots of the school gardens and i want to come along."

"okay cool! if you want when you two are you done you guys can come to the spot." said niki as he softly elbowed the girls arm.

"thanks niki."

later that day, lunch came around. heeseung was leaning on the locker next to jina while the two talked away. suddenly heeseungs eyes darted behind jina and he moved uncomfortably.

jina raised an eyebrow. she turned and there she saw jake walking towards her.

"hey...jin..can we talk?" questioned jake as he sent his little sister a look of worry.

"um...sure.." replied jina awkwardly as she closed her locker. jake made a serious look as he looked behind the girl eyeing down heeseung who's gaze was towards the ground.

"let's just talk here, he won't care." said jina as she crossed her arms.

jake sighed, "okay...well...i just came here to apologize. i'm sorry for not...being a better older brother. i've missed you so much jina, the house isn't the same without you."

jina slightly frowned. but she felt glad that finally jake said something, "i missed you too jake...and it's okay...i-i'm glad..you apologized. and well...im sorry for being a...huge jerk to you and yoon...i was just..really angry.."

jake nodded, "no jin...it's okay. i'm sure you were just having a really hard time managing your emotions n stuff and i'm sorry i wasn't there to ask you or to understand."

"we both...just...need to stop apologizing and just..forget about..what happened." chuckled jina awkwardly causing jake to laugh as he nodded.

"yeah...okay well im glad we fixed things...have you..talked to yoon?" questioned jake.

jina shook her head, "no..i haven't really seen her around. i'm sure she's busy with the dance team."

jake let out a sigh, "hm..okay well..maybe i'll talk to her..and um...also... i wanted to talk to you about..." the boys eyes wandered to heeseung who was still looking at the ground while he was lightly kicking the ground to keep himself distracted.

"about?"

"oh nothing...um...well...you're coming to tonight's game right?" questioned jake with a sweet smile.

"yeah...of course! and well...i'll see you there." said jina as she gave her brother a small hug and signaled heeseung to follow her outside.

jake stayed staring down heeseung. he didn't trust heeseung a bit. seeing jina around him made worried especially after what his friends said about him. jake was going to say something, but he didn't because he felt like it was at the wrong time to bring it up.

"this....is where i would hang out.." said jina as she led heeseung to the old greenhouse.

heeseung chuckled, "i can get amazing pictures here..but wow...how did you even find this place?"

jina and heeseung entered the greenhouse and she sat in an area she cleaned up. there laid a large picnic blanket and small cushions and chairs along with some of her art supplies.

"i found this place when..i was going through my loner phase.." chuckled jina as she sat down on the blanket and patting the empty space next to her for heeseung to sit down.

"welp...now you've got some company...i like it here..it's cozy." said heeseung as he sat himself down next to jina.

jina began to eat her lunch as well as heeseung. when the two finished heeseung began taking photos of areas around the greenhouse and with every picture he'd turn to jina showing her the picture, "what do you think of this?"
"is this one nice?"
"do you like it?"

jina would smile widely and say yes to each and every photo. not just because he was her friend. but because jina adored the way he loved photography and how great he was at it.、

suddenly loud tapping began to ring through the air. it began to rain, "when it rains..i recommend you seeing the outside.." said jina as she stood up. heeseung quickly got up and opened the door.

rain was pouring gracefully. the smell was fresh and satisfying. the sound of the rain falling sounded like music to their ears. thunder lightly rang through the sky. jina walked out allowing the rain to fall on her. a smile spread on her face feeling the cool droplets of water falling on her.

jina turned and saw heeseung taking pictures but the camera was pointing towards her. a wide smile of embarrassment spread across her face, "how does it look?" she questioned as she made her way over to the boy who was looking at the picture he snapped.

a small smile spread across his face, "look.." he said softly as he showed the photo to jina, the girl smiled widely,
"it's so cool..." said jina as she smiled at heeseung.

"will be a new favorite." said heeseung as he flashed a soft smile at jina.

lunch came to an end, and the school day was almost over. today was the day that jina's ISS was over. during her last class period she was pulled out of class early to take in all her reports.

"nice seeing you again jina, how have you been?" questioned professor minhyuk as he collected jina's planner.

"i've been good...made friends and i made up with jake." replied jina with a small smile.

professor minhyuk smiled as he nodded, "that's great jina, im happy for you. im sure your parents would be proud."

jina smiled and felt emotional with his comment, "thank you...that means a lot to me."

"of course...you know jina, back then when your dad and i were around your age...we used to go out and do everything together. he was the best older step brother. he took care of me and was a big role model." said professor minhyuk as he opened a drawer and pulled something out.

"he was an amazing person.." said jina as she smiled.

professor minhyuk nodded and chuckled, "he really was...here..take a look at this..." he said as he handed the picture a picture. it was a picture of minhyuk with her dad. they were side by side in what looked like football uniforms.

"you guys were on the football team?" questioned jina as she chuckled looking at the two.

professor minhyuk nodded, "yeah..fun times...and well...it really broke my heart when your father passed away. like i said, yes, him and i didn't really...agree with many things...but he was my brother...best friend...i see him so much in you and your siblings...it make me happy knowing that a part of him is still here...within you and the twins.."

"i'm sure he misses you too..." said jina, "i'm sure he misses everything about his life.."

professor minhyuk nodded as he let out a sorrowful sigh, "i'm sure he does...but...im sure he's happy seeing how successful his children are. anyways, good job on your ISS work. you're now out of ISS."

"thank you professor, i promise...i'll try to not be violent." chuckled jina causing the principal to laugh.

"alright, you can go back to your last class period to finish it off. goodbye jina."

"bye professor!"

later that day, it was finally 7 pm! students were making their way towards the football field to claim their seats and some made their way to the shops full of merchandise or snack bars.

"OH! there they are!" exclaimed bahiyyih as her and the group made their way towards heeseung and jina who walked through the gate that we're taking in tickets.

"oh! hey guys!" exclaimed jina as she waved sending the group a sweet smile.

they all greeted jina and welcomed heeseung, "it's cool that you came heeseung!" said niki as he softly elbowed heeseungs arm.

heeseung let out a small chuckle and jungwon joined as well complimenting the boy, "seems like they're getting a long." said bahiyyih as she eyed the boy who went to go buy snacks.

"hey..jina are you gonna want anything?" questioned heeseung.

"oh! do you think you could just get me a water? please.." said jina. heeseung nodded and made his way back to the snack bar.

"he's so sweet to you jina.." said bahiyyih in 'awe'.

jina chuckled, "yeah well..we're friends."

bahiyyih raised an eyebrow at the girl. she was about to speak up but the boys interrupted, "here's your water jina." said heeseung as he gave the girl hee water bottle. jina thanked him and they began making their way to their seats.

"sunoo kept our spots safe, we're all the way up front." explained bahiyyih.

the group finally made it to the stands and spotted sunoo. they made their way through the crowd of people and took their seats.

jina sat in between heeseung and bahiyyih. they got comfortable and waited for the game to start. jina forgot what it was like to going to school games and hanging out with a group of people.

a loud voice through the intercom echoed through the area, "ALRIGHTTT! KICK OFF WILL BEGIN! ARE OUR DEVILS READY?!"

people cheered loudly while clapping or whistling. a smile appeared on jinas face feeling excited about this night. especially seeing jake play. she remembered how after dad died jake lost motivation with sports. it made her happy knowing that jake is now trying again.

suddenly the band began playing music while the dance and cheer team began to run towards the field, got into a line, and lifted up their pom poms to form a tunnel.

meanwhile other students held up a large banner that said

FALLEN ANGEL ACADEMY
THE DEVILS

which had a picture of the school mascot and school colors. the music and cheering of people made everything lighten the mood. excitement filled the air once the football players went through the banner and ran under the tunnel of the cheer and dancers poms.

the band's music upbeat and sent chills down everyone's spine. the opposing football team even looked defeated with the whole performance and entrance.

people cheered and jina couldn't help but smile widely seeing her brother on the field, "WOOO! JAKE! GO JAKE!" exclaimed jina with pure joy.

"GO KAI!" exclaimed bahiyyih along with jina.

while the football players were on the sidelines warming up jake turned and was able to spot jina. jake waved and jina waved back and sent her brother a thumbs up for good luck.

jina then turned to heeseung who was spacing out, "hey..are you okay?" questioned jina as she placed her hand on the boys forearm.

heeseung broke out of his state and looked down at jina with his bright doe eyes. he slowly nodded, "i'm okay...just a bit overwhelmed." said heeseung as he looked around.

jina looked around and noticed that some people were staring at him and her as well. jina rolled her eyes, "wanna go for a walk? or anywhere?"

heeseung shook his head, "no i'm fine really...just not used to this." he chuckled.

"hey...don't worry...just have fun. and im here..i'll always be here." said jina as she placed her hand on heeseungs.

the boy looked down. he felt his face become warm. he didn't know what went through his head but he wanted to hold her hand. he wanted to hold her close. they've hugged before. heeseungs never felt this way about his friend jina.

he turned his hand upwards and jina lightly held his hand. they didn't interlock fingers but they were holding their hands, "this will be a fun night!" said jina.

heeseung nodded and a small smile formed on his lips, "yeah...this will be fun.." he said softly.

"AND TOUCHDOWNNNN BY SIM JAEYUN!"

the crowd went wild. jina jumped to her feet and began cheering loudly with happiness and excitement, "JAKE MADE THE LAST TOUCHDOWN!" she exclaimed as she shook heeseungs shoulders.

"THE DEVILS WIN!"

the game was finally over. jina and the group made their way out of the stands and jina wanted to wait for jake to congratulate him.

"hey guys i'll meet you over there right now! let me just congratulate jake!" said jina. the group nodded and kept walking towards the school in order to make their way towards the trains that were going to take them close by bahiyyihs home.

jina stood outside of the locker rooms and was on her phone. she heard a door open and close and she heard boys laughing. jina looked up and saw jay, sunghoon, and bahiyyihs brother kai.

"oh..guys sorry to interrupt but...have you seen jake?" questioned jina as she looked around.

"he's still changing. almost done though." said jay as he sent the girl a nod.

"oh okay, thank you." said jina as she went back on her phone.

"sim jina, right? you're my sisters like new best friend." said kai as he eyed the girl down. jina suddenly began to feel nervous.

"yeah.." she said with a small nod.

"mm..." hummed kai as he nodded.

"beauty isn't she?" said sunghoon as his finger softly caressed the girls cheek. jina raised an eyebrow and leaned away from him.

a smirk formed on kai's lips, "you should visit our house more often. bahiyyih would love your company. but id like it more."

jina gulped nervously. kai was a pretty boy but the way he was ruined everything. jina rolled her eyes and scoffed. she tried to walk away but she felt a hand lightly hold onto her forearm, "where you going pretty?" questioned sunghoon.

"to find my brother." replied jina as she tried taking her arm away from sunghoon.

jay suddenly became uncomfortable with the situation, "come on sunghoon dont-"

"shut up...." hissed sunghoon, "you know...i don't understand how someone...gorgeous like you...would be hanging out with that ugly creep...lee heeseung." chuckled sunghoon.

jina suddenly felt angry. anger is what only went through her body and mind. she wanted to punch sunghoon in the face and brutally beat him for talking about heeseung like that.

but she couldn't, she remembered that she barely got out of ISS.

"let...go of me!" said jina as she struggled to get out of the boys grip. sunghoon chuckled. he was about to say something and his grip tightened causing jina to silently wince..when suddenly a voice spoke up from behind.

"do we have a problem here?"

jina turned and it was soobin. sunghoon looked at jina and back at soobin, "nah...we were just fooling around..." said sunghoon in an unbothered tone as he let go of the girl slightly pushing her away.

"come on..let's get to the station.." said sunghoon as he signaled the boys to follow him.

soobin went up to a distressed looking jina, "you okay?" questioned soobin.

"y-yeah..im fine..thanks.."

soobin was about to speak up when suddenly the locker room opened and jake came out joking around with other football players. suddenly his eyes lit up seeing his little sister.

"i'll be right back guys.." said jake as he began to make his way over to his little sister and soobin.

"hey jina...hey soobin.." said jake as he sent the two a smile. soobin smiled and waved, "well...i've got to go now but you did great jake!" complimented soobin as he sent jake his soft dimply smile.

"thanks man, see you monday!" said jake as he sent soobin a smile and wave.

"bye jina." said soobin in which jina responded with a small smile and wave.

once soobin left jake spoke up, "glad you made it today jin! meant a lot to me."

"i'm glad! you did amazing out there." said jina as she hugged her brother. jake hugged back tightly.

"what are you gonna do right now? gonna go out? saw you with your friends." said jake.

"yeah we're gonna hang out and have a sleepover at bahiyyihs house. you?" replied jina.

"sleeping over sunghoons house but we're gonna go have dinner first. you go have fun yeah?" said jake as he pulled in jina for a hug. jina hugged back and nodded, "you too jake."

the two made their separate ways and jina quickly made her way out to the station where the group was waiting, "jeez! what took you long?!" questioned niki as he pat the girls head.

"sorry, jake was talking too much," laughed jina as they entered the train.

jina sat next to heeseung and he couldn't help but notice jina's mood suddenly changing drastically. he felt like something was off.

"you okay?" whispered heeseung to not catch anyone else's attention.

jina was caught off guard with the question. she quickly turned and met eyes with the boy, "i'm fine..just tired." she chuckled.

heeseung nodded, "i'm tired too. been a long day."

after the train ride the group of friends were picked up by bahiyyihs mother and older sister. minutes passed and they made it to a very rich area. they stopped in front of a beautiful house.

the group made their way out of the car and into the gorgeous home, "i bought food for everyone!" announced bahiyyihs mother.

"thanks mom!" exclaimed bahiyyih

"thank you!" exclaimed the rest of the group.

the group gathered their food and watched movies. by then midnight fell the night ended with laughs, jokes, and a beautiful friend group blooming.

it felt like a fantasy for heeseung hanging out with a group of people. especially with people from school. the night felt so unreal to him. but in a good way. it was a night that he'll never forget. and a night where he truly felt loved and accepted.

for jina that night took her negative thoughts away. and it made her happy seeing how happy heeseung looked.

jina laid on the bed of the guest bedroom and on the floor laid heeseung on a mattress. he was fast asleep and jina was wide awake. she couldn't sleep. what happened between her and sunghoon haunted her for a while. her wrist was slightly bruised from how tight he held on.

she took a deep breath in and out.

she closed her eyes.

and let the darkness take over.

JINAS DREAM...

the setting was dark and cold. it was windy and the leaves were slowly crashing into each other. jina was walking down a path slowly. she felt pure fear. suddenly there stood soobin with blood pouring out of his chest.

"he's on his way...." said soobin,
