/lengthy chapter!

the next day, jina found herself sitting alone in her last class period of the day. she found it odd that heeseung wasn't in class. he never missed a day.

her leg bounced in anticipation remembering that she was going to be pulled out of class early due to her in school suspension. jina kept eyeing the empty seat next to her not being used to heeseung gone.

she kept thinking that she missed her chance talking to him because of his butterfly drawing that he dropped.

suddenly a student aid walked into the classroom and handed the astronomy teacher a slip. jina eyed the slip and teacher, "please be me.." she whispered to herself.

"sim jina! for you." announced the teacher.

the girl quickly grabbed her things and made her way to the teacher to grab the slip that said;
'Please send Sim Jina to room J4 in the Butterfly Hall.'

jina made a confused face since she's never really been to the butterfly hall before. she made her way out of the classroom. jina quietly hummed as she made her way out of the moon hall.

the school has three floors and they're named after elements: first floor; the air floor, second floor; the water floor, and the third; the fire floor. each floor has classes and the halls are named after either animals, stones, or anything majestic like.

jina entered the first floor and made her way towards the butterfly hall. the girl passed through the hall and finally she made it to room J4. she knocked on the door and a couple of seconds later a tall man opened the door.

"you're sim jina correct?" questioned the man as he took the slip from the girls hand.

"yes," replied jina as she waited for the teacher to tell her something.

the teacher smiled, "i'm kim seokjin, but please just call me mister jin." said the man sweetly as he allowed jina to enter the classroom.

jina entered the classroom and suddenly her heart dropped. she saw heeseung sitting in the lonely classroom drawing away into a sketchbook.

"now, professor minhyuk ordered me to look after you guys. i'm not really a teacher of...discipline...so...for now you guys can just do whatever you want. just please, don't be trouble. yeah?" said mister jin as he sent the two teens a small nod.

jina and heeseung awkwardly looked at each other and back at the teacher, "got it.." responded jina with a nod.

mister jin began to work with his paperwork and on his computer. heeseung began to draw again and jina just stayed looking around the classroom. she turned to her left to look at what heeseung was drawing.

he was drawing a section of the library that seemed quite familiar to jina. but the girl thought it was strange seeing heeseung here. she kept questioning if he was in school suspension(ISS) or for something else.

jina sighed as she took out her drawing stuff as well. she opened up her folder and there she saw the drawing heeseung dropped. jina side eyed the boy who was concentrated on his drawing.

she bit the inside of her cheek and sighed. she took the paper and turned to heeseung. she slightly tapped on his shoulder, "h-heeseung.."

heeseungs eyes slightly widened and he froze. the boy slowly turned around. his doe eyes caused jina to be in 'awe'. she thought his eyes were unique in a way.

"when i..was at the library..i was fixing a bottom shelf and i think this is a drawing you accidentally dropped.." said jina as she held out the butterfly sketch, "i knew this was your drawing because...i don't know anyone else who can draw butterflies like this.."

heeseung looked at the piece of paper and and back up at jina. the boy seemed nervous. his breath was shaky and his palms were sweaty. he rubbed the palm of his hands on his thighs.

"u-uhm.." he stuttered quietly, "that..drawing...i- i dropped it..on purpose."

jina blinked in confusion as she looked at the small sketch and back up at heeseung, "o-oh..wait..what do you mean?" she questioned with a small chuckle.

"um..well...i know that..you've been..you know...having a hard week..and...i've seen your butterfly drawings before so i assumed that..." explained heeseung slowly with a bit of embarrassment, "you like butterflies...and so made that small sketch for you. as like a..good luck...charm...well...not charm..cause that's not metal...but...well..i- you get what i mean...right?" finished heeseung awkwardly.

jina smiled at the boys clumsiness with his words and she nodded, "yes i know what you mean."

heeseung slightly chuckled, "sorry, i don't really...talk to people."

"no you're fine, don't worry! i don't really either.." replied jina. heeseung laid his pencil down and his body slightly turned to face jina.

"wait but like...why are you here? did you get ISS? or.." trailed off jina as she raised an eyebrow.

heeseung slightly winced and nodded, "yeah...i..cursed out a teacher.." the boy said slowly. jina made a surprised face and began to laugh causing heeseung to laugh as well.

"that's too funny!" laughed jina, "why did you curse out your teacher?" questioned jina while laughing.

"he was being annoying! he was mad that i didn't want to read and he asked me to go up to him...and so i did and he was all like 'why don't you ever listen to me! you're being disrespectful! respect your teacher!' " re-enacted heeseung, "and i got mad and i cursed him out."

jina's eyes widen, ""well damn..." she said, "you know i never thought that you'd do that...since you're always so quiet."

"yeah...i-i don't know..i just don't really get along with anyone here...so i just decide to just keep to myself." explained heeseung.

"mmm..." hummed jina as she nodded, "..my aunt..she picked up my siblings and i from the foster care place and we moved in with her at one of our grandparents house. and well...here i am.." she explained with downturned smile.

heeseung slightly nodded, "hm..what do you think of fallen angel academy?" he questioned.

jina slowly sighed, "hm..well...i dislike the people.." she laughed causing heeseung to chuckle, "i mean..its a beautiful school..and that's mostly it...so far."

heeseung nodded, "yeah well...through out all my years of being here at this school...you're the only person i've talked to.."

"really?" questioned jina in a surprised tone.

"yeah...through out my high school years i was picked on for sometime. then my freshman year of college..i got into a really bad fight and that caused everyone to avoid me. i got suspended but...since it was during a time the ministry was having a hard time trying to find a new principal it wasn't very long." explained heeseung.

"what grade are you in right now?" questioned the girl as she laid her chin on the palm of her hand.

"i'm now a junior in college." replied heeseung with a small nod.

"ohh okay...and well..i mean..you seem like a really nice guy.." said jina with a small chuckle. heeseung slightly smiled.

"i'm nice to the ones who i know...are nice.." said heeseung.

jina slightly smiled. through out the detention heeseung and jina chatted. to jina and heeseung, it felt great knowing someone who has the same interests, ideas, and opinions. the two bonded very well over time.

2 hours passed, heeseung and jina were drawing random doodles and sketches on the teachers chalkboard. the two were having fun laughing away, listening to music, and having conversations with the teacher as well.

"alrighty, you guys can head out now." said mister jin with a small nod.

"thank you mister jin." said heeseung and jina in sync as they grabbed their things and left the classroom.

"where you heading?" questioned jina.

"office, you?" replied heeseung with a small smile.

"same...i have to turn in my report." sighed jina as she rolled her eyes.

heeseung nodded, "yeah me too...u hope this ISS is over soon..i hate professor minhyuk."

jina was taken back from heeseungs comment, "o-oh...really?" questioned jin as she raised an eyebrow, "why is that?"

"it's a long story, i can tell you during our detention session or lunch time..i don't know." said heeseung as he shrugged.

"anytime is fine really." replied jina with a small smile.

the two stopped in front of professor minhyuks door. jina knocked, "come in!"

heeseung and jina entered together, "oh! hello miss sim and mister lee. come in and uh..take a seat." said professor minhyuk.

the two students took their seats and gave their reports to the principal. silence was in the air and the only sound that could be made up was students walking around the school campus either staying for their after school clubs or heading to their dorms.

professor minhyuk went onto his computer and began typing into his computer. jina felt a small tap on her hand. the girl side eyed heeseung and slightly looked at him. she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow.

heeseungs eyes moved away from the girls onto the corner of the room. jina looked at minhyuk who was concentrated on his computer. jina then looked at the direction heeseung was looking at. she spotted a shelf and it had four safes.

in front of the safes were picture frames and artifacts.

jina turned to heeseung and made a confused face. heeseung made a disappointed sort of face. he bit his lip and looked around. heeseung was about signal something to jina when suddenly professor minhyuk spoke up again.

"alright kids, thank you for your reports! tomorrow, you two will be pulled out of your last period for a couple more hours at miss kangs classroom again."

heeseung and jina scrunched their faces in confusion, "m-miss kang? we were in mister jins class though."

professor minhyuks face went blank as if he saw a ghost. he raised an eyebrow, "u-uh..i-i'm sorry what? i- i dont-"

suddenly professor minhyuk paused. he slowly looked down and was silent. jina and heeseung gave each other confused looks, "p-professor..." called out jina.

heeseung was about to tap the man's shoulder but suddenly he looked up, "s-sorry kids...i- ugh...i haven't taken my meds...well...ah yes...mister jin," said professor minhyuk nervously.

jina and heeseung sent unsure chuckles to the professor, "yeah...uhm...well...should heeseung and i get going? you're probably going to need some rest."

professor minhyuk nodded as he chuckled, "yes yes, please you two go ahead. have a good evening."

heeseung and jina for up from there seats and exited out of the office, "that was..weird." said jina causing heeseung to nod.

"yeah that was...very..odd.." trailed off heeseung.

"but....what was it that you were trying to show me?" questioned jina as her and headwind exited out of the school building and began to take the path to the dorms.

"oh! i was trying to show you the four safes he had. did you see them?" questioned heeseung.

jina raised an eyebrow, "um yeah...what about them?"

"don't you think it's weird he has four? like what would he need four for?" said heeseung as he scrunched his face in confusion.

jina shrugged, "i don't know maybe...he has...a lot of money."

"hm...maybe...anyways, what floor is your dorm?" questioned heeseung as he entered the jade building of dorms.

"im on the second floor...room six o' four..how about you?" responded jina.

"no way...im in room six o' one!" said heeseung in a surprised tone.

the two walked up the stairs and made it to their hall, "okay well, see you tomorrow..sleep well." said jina as she sent heeseung a small smile.

"you too.." replied heeseung as he sent the girl a small wave.

jina entered her dorm and got ready for bed. all she could think about was her day with heeseung feeling unreal. she thought that she was never going to have a chance to talk with him.

the next day came by, jina exited out of her fourth period world history. she sighed loudly feeling tired after the long lesson.

jina made her way to her locker to put away her things that she didn't need anymore. it was lunch time and jina had no idea wether she should go and find heeseung or go to the abandoned greenhouse.

as jina is about to close her locker she felt a tap on her shoulder. she turned and there she saw the girl that was being picked on by wonyoung.

"oh..y-yes?" questioned jina in confusión and awkwardness.

"hey jina...im sorry i never...contacted you after the whole..thing..but i wanted to make it up to you." said the girl as she flashed the girl a small and embarrassed smile.

jina felt uneasy not knowing what to do. no one else has been wanting to talk to her ever since the incident. the only person she has talked to was heeseung. but, that's because they're we're both in ISS.

"oh...y-you don't have to...but i mean...you don't have to apologize or whatever i mean-"

the girl interrupted jina, "you deserve better. i mean, you defended me...and what i hate is that a lot of people don't know that side of the story."

jina slightly shrugged, "yeah...well...people just mostly praise the...'it girl' of the school no matter what." chuckled jina nervously being too awkward with the situation.

the girl chuckled, "well, want to hang out with my friends and i during lunch?"

"oh...are you sure?" questioned jina in shock. the girl nodded as a smile formed on her face, "come on, we'll all introduce ourselves when we got to our spot." she said as she held jina's hand and led her away outside.

as jina and the girl got to the outside they go around the school and jina sees a large beautiful tree with its leaves hovering over the ground and swinging gently through the wind. jina and the girl went through the bushes of leaves and there were three boys sitting in a circle eating their lunch.

"hey guys!" exclaimed the girl as she caught the boys attention.

they all turned and sent sweet smiles, "hello!" responded one boy who had dimples.

jina sat in between the girl and a boy who had black hair, "okay well, you guys already know...but let's welcome jina guys!" said the girl with excitement.

"i'm kim sunoo." said a boy sweetly as he smiled.

"yang jungwon, you can just call me jungwon...or won...whatever is fine.." said the boy with dimples.

"i'm nishimura riki. you can call me niki or riki...which ever is fine. i'm a transfer student from japan." said the black haired boy who was next to jina.

"and im bahiyyih...huening bahiyyih. you can call me bahiyyih or hiyyih." said the girl as she flashed jina a smile.

jina smiled, "it's nice meeting you guys...really..and thank you for...inviting me. well, i'm sim jina...you guys can call me jin."

"it's nice meeting you jin.." said jungwon with a smile.

jina felt a bit intimidated since she's joining a friend group that's probably friends for a long time. but to her they seem really sweet. but it felt good to hee finally meeting new people. she felt like she was. never going to have the chance to be able to meet or talk to new people.

jina always seemed to pick up how socially awkward she was when it came to meeting new people. especially after the unfortunate events two years ago when her parents passed away. jina found it difficult to interact with new people and become close with new people.

the only people should would hang out with were her brother and sister. and back at her old school she did have a friend. but her friend ended up moving to america.

jina didnt like bringing up this type of topic involving her parents. it's not their fault. of course, it's not their fault. it would never be their fault.

lunch came to an end, the group walked out of the tree and began walking towards the school entrance.

jina couldn't help but laugh at niki and sunoo who were bickering at each other over foods, "don't mind them, they argue all the time." whispered jungwon.

jina chuckled, "yep, i definetly caught onto that. they've been arguing about mint chocolate the whole lunch period."

jungwon chuckled, "just wait til you're added to our groupchat...it's a mess..but in a good way."

"oh god, cant wait for that." said jina as she raised an eyebrow.

the group began to enter the conversation when suddenly jina saw someone familiar from the corner of her eye.

she saw the tall doe eyed boy, heeseung.

heeseung had his headphones on and his eyes were fixed onto the ground. suddenly, heeseung turned towards jina's direction. the boy made direct eye contact with the girl.

jina and heeseung kept the eye contact for a few seconds. the tension was strong. jina didn't know wether she should wave or say 'hi'. heeseung didn't know if he should wave or say something. but then, the two turned away awkwardly as if they didn't know each other.

"oh, no...no no no...don't even try." said bahiyyih as she gave jina a serious look.

"what do you mean?" questioned jina in pure confusion.

"what hiyyih means is to not to try and get with lee heeseung." replied sunoo in a sassy tone.

jina's jaw dropped and she began to stumble on her words, "i don't even want to...we-"

"then why did you two have some stare down? also! that day when you guys accidentally bumped into each other ooo that was something." said niki with exaggeration causing jina to laugh.

"well...i'm not interested.."

"he doesn't even talk." said jungwon as he rolled his eyes.

"no yeah! like all my years i've seen him here, i have never ever heard him say a word to someone. stresses the teachers out." laughed sunoo while the others giggled.

"yeah he's charming, but he can be mean. he's made girls cry before." chuckled bahiyyih

"and guys...well...no he usually scares guys off." added sunoo.

"literally no one has approached him. especially after that whole incident he got into. he's been in a fight before, and he's cursed people out, like he can be brutal when it comes to words!" explained jungwon

"yeah, hes someone i'd never get into a roast session with cause he can literally destroy anyone." said niki in a serious tone.

jina grew confused with everything the group was saying. they made it seem like he was some demon. she didn't know what to think. when she talked and hung out with heeseung that one day, he was like an angel.

he was sweet and would listen to everything jina was saying.

"he sits next to me in english and astronomy." sighed jina with a small shrug.

suddenly the whole group went silent and their faces turned into a mixture of confusion and concern, "you sit next to him?" questioned sunoo as he raised an eyebrow.

"um...yeah. i have to. i have like no choice." said jina with a shrug.

"and does he like...stay? the whole entire class period next to you?" questioned bahiyyih while the others seemed too intrigued about this specific conversation.

"yes." jina simply replied.

the group looked at each other gasping dramatically, "what the fuck." jina mumbled in pure confusion not knowing why they're reacting like this.

"does he tell you anything?" questioned niki as he stole a chip from nikis bag.

"mm..no..he's quiet.."

"welp...that's surprising." said jungwon as he raised his eyebrows.

jina didn't know what to say about this topic. he probably is mean but she remembered him saying how he's only nice to people he knows are nice. but also, you never know what can be the cause of his behavior.

jina didnt also want to trash talk him because she knows how he really is.

"alrighty well...we will message you on the group chat jin! it was nice meeting you!" said bahiyyih with a smile as she gave the girl a tight hug.

"nice meeting you guys!" said jina as she sent a smile and wave to the group. they all smiled and waved and they all parted ways.

the last class period of the day came by, rain poured outside beautifully and kids were in classes learning away.

meanwhile, jina was in a deep sleep while heeseung was next to her wide awake drawing into his sketchbook as mister jin was organizing his work. the two were pulled out early again from class for their ISS.

heeseung was interrupted out of his daze when he noticed jina sort of flinch from the corner of his eye.

the boy took his eyes off the girl and continued to draw into his notebook. that wasn't until he saw that the girl seemed to be in a bit of distress. she kept moving around, her face would scrunch as if she was scared, and she would always quietly mumble "no."

heeseung felt extremely nervous. he didn't know that if he should try to find a way to wake her that didn't involve him or if he should just wake her up.

the boy kept mentally cursing seeing that the girl was getting worse by the second. heeseung quietly sighed in nervousness as he side eyed jina. a few seconds later he sighed in relief seeing that the girl stopped moving around.

he went back onto sketching into his notebook when all of the sudden he felt his heart drop hearing the girl whisper, "the library?" heeseungs eyes widened as he stared at his notebook that had sketches of books and spots in the library.

he slowly turned to the girl who was slowly shaking her head, "no..no..no." whispered jina.

heeseung gulped not knowing what to do. his eyes would switch from jina and onto his notebook over and over again. he kept panicking when he saw that jina was getting worse and worse.

heeseung looked up to see if mister jin was there but he was no where to be seen.

he didn't know what came over him. it was like an out of body experience. he felt his hand suddenly shake the girl awake. jina suddenly sat up in a panic.

suddenly she slowly turned around and saw heeseung looking directly at her with a panicked but worried face, "a-are you okay?" questioned heeseung quietly.

"yes...yeah...yeah...im okay...uh...how long have i been asleep for?" questioned jina in pure confusion as she looked around the classroom while fixing her hair.

"uh....for about...thirty minutes.." replied heeseung in an unsure tone. jina sighed and yawned, "i'm so sorry if i bothered you..i didn't get enough sleep last night." chuckled jina as she rubbed her eyes.

"w-why?" questioned heeseung as he scanned jina worriedly.

"i don't know, usually i've been having a lot of nightmares. and sometimes i wake up like seconds before my alarm." sighed jina in annoyance.

"oh yeah...that's annoying,.." sighed heeseung as he began to put his drawing supplies away.

suddenly, mister jin entered the classroom, "hey sorry guys, had to get copies. by the way, your guys's detention is ending early because the storm is getting pretty bad so you might want to get going."

heeseung and jina nodded as they packed their things quickly and made their way out of the classroom. the two walked down the halls talking away in their own little world.

peoples eyes widened and their jaws dropped seeing heeseung and jina talking to each other. ESPECIALLY, heeseung talking to someone. some people started to whisper to each other;
"is she talking to him?"
"is that really lee heeseung talking to her?"
"are they really talking?"
"how?!"
"what's going on?!"
"of course the two freaks are friends."

every kids had something to say. jina seemed to notice the commotion that was going on. she turned to heeseung who's eyes were glued to the ground while still talking to her. after the boy finished talking they both made it to the girls locker.

"hey um...sorry if me talking to you make you uncomfortable.." whispered jina as she sent heeseung a sorry look.

heeseung shook his head, "no no no, don't worry. if people are talking just let them. i don't care." he said with a deep sigh.

"used to it?" questioned jina as she raised an eyebrow. heeseung winced, "yeah.." he trailed off.

from afar jake was eyeing down his little sister talking to the boy he's heard is trouble, "better watch out her her dude." said sunghoon.

"you're just mad that she didn't get along with you." laughed jay. sunghoon rolled his eyes. jake turned to his friends, "guys just shut up...o-once she gets home..i'll have a talk with her."

later that day, heeseung was by a window sketching away. jina made her way over to him and gave him hot chocolate, "here you go."

"thanks jina." said heeseung as he flashed a small smile.

jina nodded as she sat on the couch and turned on the television, "you have an amazing view...ugh i'm jealous.." said heeseung as he took his eyes off the painting to look outside.

"thanks for letting me in to paint, i've been wanting this kind of view for...i don't know how long...my window is bombarded with trees." ranted heeseung as he finished his sketch.

the day ended with heeseung painting away into the rainy evening. jina and heeseung ranted and talked about whatever topic came into mind. jina felt like she had finally made a friend.

and heeseung felt like this whole experience was unreal.

but he felt glad in a way that he finally made a friend..
