26; jealousy & anger

JANUARY 20TH, 2021
MINHYUK RESIDENCE

in the dark lonely mansion, minhyuk was pacing back and forth in his office that was only lit during the night from the fire place. over the fire place was a large portrait of him and soobin.

"it's not fair...it's not fair!" he mumbled to himself as he kicked his desk causing his items to tumble over.

there was a soft knock on his door causing minhyuk to quickly snap out of his angry daze, "come in." he sighed. the door slowly opened and there he saw a tired yet confused soobin.

"d-dad..." mumbled soobin as he rubbed his eyes, "are you okay? i heard a lot of noise. just got worried."

"don't worry son, i-i'm just a bit stressed with family business and work." replied minhyuk.

"is it still about grandpa?" questioned soobin in a slightly sad tone.

minhyuk bit the inside of his cheek and slowly nodded, "yes...i-it is...but really son, don't you worry. how about, tomorrow, me and you go to our favorite restaurant. we haven't gone in a while." he recommended as he slowly made his way towards soobin.

soobin softly smiled as his dimples formed, "sounds good dad. i hope you feel better."

minhyuk sent the boy a small smile and watched his son leave the office. minhyuk shut the doors carefully and made his way back to his desk. he re-opened the email he received that caused him to go ballistic.

From: Fallen Angel Academy Board Meeting
To: Lee Minhyuk

Good Afternoon, Mister Lee Minhyuk! This is
an important email coming from personal government workers/lawyers that are alongside the Sim Family.

It is brought to my attention that you sadly couldn't make it to the meeting today. We are terribly sorry for your loss.

It has been decided that Sim Jihun's son, Sim Jaejoon, will take part in becoming Fallen Angel Academy's new principal, while Lee Haeseong will take part as Vice Principal under Jaejoon's request.

Sim Jihun has ordered for you to keep yourself involved in the school district's activities.

May Sim Jihun's legacy will still remain alive.

minhyuk huffed angrily and in jealousy as he deleted the email he had received. the man had always wanted power. he always wanted jihun to see potential in him. but no, it was always jaejoon and jaebeom.

jaejoon and jaebeom were his prized possessions. jihun always worshiped his sons and always showed them off proudly to everyone.

but minhyuk, poor soul. always left in the shadows, always seen as the difficult child, the outcast, the nobody, the "stepbrother", the "stepson", no matter how hard he tried to impress his step father, the only fatherly figured he ever knew, he never just made it up to his expectations.

it was always minhyuks dream to fulfill a spot in the high positions of the school. the school was built and ruled by the sim family for centuries.

minhyuk sat in his office thinking about what to do. it ran through his mind what his big plan was. but he couldn't help thinking about that night. that night that no one will ever know.

he felt like he needed to just rant and needed someone to just see his perspective.

suddenly, the man's eyes widened as the right person popped into his head.

2 days later

there was a knock on the front door of the house. minhyuk quickly made his way down the stairs and opened up the door revealing a tired looking kim luna.

"i was waiting for this moment." she mumbled as she put out her cigarette.

minhyuk opened the door more wider to allow the woman to walk in. she quickly took off her coat and began to fix her messy hair. she sighed and looked around the warm cozy mansion.

"soo, this was an unexpected call...kind of. if it's to hook up i am not-"

"it's not for that idiot." hissed minhyuk as ge began walking upstairs followed by a smirking luna.

they entered his office and she looked around with wide eyes, "wow, your office is...huge." she said in disbelief as she eyed the spacious room with a tall ceiling, emerald green wallpaper, and a huge portrait of him and soobin.

"i've got...very...very important stuff to talk to you about." said minhyuk in a serious voice as he took a seat behind his desk.

luna eyed down the glass cabinets full of alcoholic beverages and sat herself down in front of the desk.

"well, go on." she snapped with impatience.

"do you have an idea why i contacted you?" questioned minhyuk as he raised an eyebrow.

luna hummed, "did you get the job? did your crazy stunt work?" she chuckled.

minhyuk bit his lip while slowly shaking his head. lunas eyes widened and she leaned her body forward in anticipation with wide eyes.

"no way...y-you didn't get the job...oh my god." chuckled luna, "i knew it." she added while taking out a cigarette and lighting it up.

"i knew that job would go to jaejoon. not you. do you really think jihun would pass it down to you? i mean...no offense but jeez...jaejoon is like his golden child." rambled luna as she took a puff feeling her throat slightly burn with the rough smoke.

"which is why i'm moving onto my next...plan." mumbled minhyuk.

"w-wait...a-already?" mumbled luna in a panic. she uncrossed her legs and stood up, "i-minhyuk...i-i'm sorry...but i don't think i could bare loosing-"

"your sister?" interrupted minhyuk as he fixed his sleeves causing luna to go silent, "ah yes, well i was waiting for that one," he continued.

luna stared at the man nervously.

"now tell me, luna, who was the girl...that...allowed you to get bullied in school? who was the girl that stood by and watched? who was the girl that never defended you? who was the girl that left you, for the infamous sim? the guy, you would, always warn her about. the trouble maker. your childhood bully."

luna looked down remembering her school memories. her childhood. just remembering how much jangmi was never there for her. jangmi was the perfect older sister. her families golden child. the girl everyone wanted to be.

she bit the inside of her cheeks and slowly nodded, "i-i get what you're saying minhyuk. and i know, that you were always the one looking out for me. but i don't know, i just can't think about my sister leaving the kids."

"oh please, in all honesty, i really think that the kids will get over it sooner or later. have you seen how controlled they are? how trapped those kids are? how they know nothing! oh, they'll never know." chuckled minhyuk as he slowly shook his head.

luna slowly nodded, "yeah...i know. it's just give it some time at least."

"oh yes, of course, everything will just go at a slow steady pace. don't worry, i've got everything planned." said minhyuk calmly as he slowly stood up and made his way towards luna.

"and yes of course, don't worry, our hands will be clean." chuckled minhyuk.

luna softly smiled, "so, i'm guessing that your abilities are now coming in stronger."

"hm, yeah, before murdering dad, i manipulated him in a way to...show me what i can do." sighed minhyuk as he leaned back on his desk.

"it's so crazy how much that man has lied to you." mumbled luna while shaking her head in disappointment, "in real life, he's your biological father, he cheated on your mother, left the two of you, then, all of the sudden when his current wife passed away, he came running back to you guys, and shushed you guys up with money and punishments." ranted luna as she made her way closer to minhyuk, "you poor soul."

"seems like you can't get over our school days." chuckled minhyuk as he looked down at the smaller woman.

"you really think i could get over those days?" replied luna as she raised an eyebrow.

minhyuk slowly shook his head as he couldn't keep his eyes off the woman's lips. memories of meeting during their high school and university days replayed in his mind over and over again. the two broken and lost souls, the left out children of the family, found each other, and connected instantly.

the two were reckless teenagers who didn't care anymore. embarrassed by their siblings and parents. although, on the outside, they had to make it seem like they didn't care for each other. but, behind closed doors, they couldn't leave each other alone.

all they did was rant and rant about how much they're mistreated by their family just because they didn't live up to a certain standard. but, most of all, they both wanted to get revenge.

minhyuk looked down and a smirk formed on his lips, "are you sure you're not here for a hook up."

luna rolled her eyes, "nice try minhyuk."

"you're not married." he added.

"and i'm not a cheater." snapped back luna as she found herself closer to the man.

"you sure about that?"

minhyuk and luna held the long and intense eye contact. her breath was shaky and she couldnt help herself. no matter what, she felt like her heart always just went back to him. minhyuk helped the girl out of her shadows.

he made her feel seen.

he made her feel things like never before.

"after this, do you promise not to leave?" questioned luna as she felt her hands snake on the mans arms.

minhyuk's hands wrapped around the woman's waist, "when did i ever disappear on you?" he questioned, "i'd never leave you."

PRESENT DAY
ENCHANTED CAVE

"HOW DARE YOU!" exclaimed jina while being tied to a flat stone.

she turned and there she saw two other similar stones and saw jake and yoon already tied to them. jina's eyes watered in frustration and anger. of course she she had a secret evil aunt that would be associated with this psychotic man.

"oh calm the child down, she's getting on my nerves." mumbled luna as she eyed down jina.

"wh-where are the others? heeseung, bahiyyih? where are they?" questioned jina in a pani not seeing anyone anywhere. jina looked around and saw that she was still inside the cave but in a different part of it.

there was a pool of water in the center of the area, with beautiful blue water, and surrounding the pool of water were three large flat stones that the siblings were tied to. there were small waterfalls flowing off the walls and mossy areas that made the place more vibrant.

"you know jina," announced minhyuk as he made his way towards her, "i never wanted to kill you. i can see your potential. you are, strong, smart-"

"enough with the chit chat," interrupted jina, "your talks make me cringe, they are boring, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind." she hissed trying to get herself out of the ropes she was tied to.

minhyuk chuckled as he slowly nodded, "hm, okay, well, you missed the fun part."

jina squinted her eyes at the man not caring with whatever word that's going to slip out of his mouth.

"i am, sim minhyuk, and today is the day, that you, will die first."

jina's eyes widened while the man pulled out the colorful stones out of his pockets. they all began to float up into the air and formed into the positions they were in when jina had connected them to the wall. they began to circle around above the body of water.

each stone shot out a power source that went down into the water. at the bottom of the water there was a big ball of energy. the core that kept this whole cave and sim legacy alive.

jake and yoon began to wake up and their eyes suddenly widen at the scene. they tried ripping out of the ropes that tied them down but they could barely move.

"JINA! JINA!" exclaimed yoon as she saw minhyuk approaching her slowly.

jake turned and saw aunt luna staring at the stones power sources. his face scrunched in confusion not knowing why she wasn't helping or trying to get them out.

"AUNT LUNA! H-HELP!" exclaimed jake as tears began to form in his eyes.

luna turned to the twins and she began to laugh,    "h-help? help you guys?" she chuckled, "do you know, what your mother did to help me? NOTHING! she watched me get tortured! do you know by who?! YOUR FATHER! YEAH! thats right. your guys perfect sweet mom and dad..RUINED ME! RUINED MY LIFE!" cried out luna as she slowly walked towards the twins, "so tell me twins, why-should-i-help-you?"

all the twins could do was stay silent. they had no idea about their parents mistreating luna. it finally made sense to why they never talked about their childhood, why they never took them to see family. they feared that this would exactly happen.

"now, i really hope your parents are watching. watching that their actions have consequences." chuckled luna as she walked away from the twins that were to scared to speak.

yoon and jake looked forward and there they saw minhyuk hovered over jina. their eyes widened seeing minhyuk pulling out a large dagger out of his pocket.

"no..." mumbled jake while slowly shaking his head realizing whats going to happen, "NO! NO NO NO NO! NO PLEASE! NOT JINA! JINA!" cried jake.

"NO!" sobbed yoon loudly.

"NO MINHYUK!" exclaimed luna.

in a blink of an eye the dagger was stabbed deep into jinas chest. the girl couldnt scream. she felt immediate pain spread though out her chest. she felt an unbearable pain when she tried taking a deep breath.  but as she looked up, she saw that minhyuk had been stabbed from behind, and the blade was sticking out of his chest.

minhyuk slowly turned and saw heeseung with wide eyes and sweat dripping off his face.

"h-heeseung.." whispered jina as she felt her eyes closing and felt her last breath coming in. her throat filled with blood and she let out a cough causing the blood to shoot out of her mouth. minhyuk panicked as he fell back looking down at his chest.

luna tried running towards the man but was suddenly knocked down by niki and jungwon. while bahiyyih and sunoo began to try and untie the twins from the complicated ropes.

"j-jina!" exclaimed heeseung in a panic as he made his way towards the lifeless body.

"oh my god," he mumbled quietly as tears filled his eyes while his throat tightened, "NO..NO NO! JINA! PLEASE! DON'T GO!"

jina's pov

my eyes flutter open and i'm laying in a grassy area. the bright sun blinds me and i wince in annoyance. i slowly sit up and my eyes widen seeing fallen angel academy in front of me. except it looks ten times prettier and more lively.

the entrance of the school slowly opens and i see a person. i squint my eyes and they widen. i see mister jin, my brother. another person appears and i see a woman. it's mom. the door widened and there i see dad.

"oh my god." i whisper.

"jina! COME ON!" exclaimed seokjin.

a small smile spreads on my face as i slowly walk towards them.

"we've missed you jina." cried mom as she covered her mouth while tears spilled out of her eyes.

i'm getting closer and closer to them and suddenly i feel myself being embraced by all of them. a smile spreads on my face and my eyes water, "i missed you guys so much." i cry.

"we're so sorry jina. we shouldn't have kept you away from everything. this wouldn't have happened if we just taught you everything." cried dad as he caressed my head repeatedly.

"would you like to come with us?" questioned seokjin as he held out his hand.

i bite my lip in confusion. should i go? i kind of think it's better. maybe jake and yoon will come in a bit. i'm sure that evil man got to them already. they should be here any minute. i turn around and don't see the twins anywhere.

"where are the twins?" i question.

"oh sweetie, they...they were the only ones unharmed." replied mom.

i let out a sigh, "i'm gonna miss them."

i'm about to grab seokjin's hand but i feel someone place their hand on my shoulder. i look back and my eyes widen seeing soobin, "jina, are you sure you want to go?" he questioned.

"they're a mess right now. and there's not much time. minhyuk is in the process of healing himself, and without you, there will be disaster." said soobin as he hovered his hand over the are i was stabbed.

i look back and dad makes his way towards me, "i'm sure this can help." he said as his hand hovered over my head.

all of the sudden a flash of blue power sources expelled everywhere.

"we love you." said dad as he pat my head.

mom and seokjin made their way towards me with small smiles on their faces.

i take a deep breath and close my eyes.

time to fix everything...
