19; a living nightmare

December 20, 1997

a boy who was sitting in the middle of the living room was quietly watching the fire in the fireplace burn brightly. he was spaced out in his little world not worrying about a thing.

but suddenly he slightly flinched feeling a soft touch on his shoulder. he turned and his eyes brightened seeing his mother, "you've been awfully quiet, sweetie," she said, "is there anything you need to tell me?"

the boy stared at his mother not knowing what to say. but he slowly began to shake his head, "n-no...i'm okay.."

"seokjin...whats wrong?" questioned the mom softly as she raised an eyebrow.

the boy, kim seokjin, looked at his mom and slightly frowned, "mom...i don't want to go back to school. i don't like it." he said as he hugged his knees.

kim jangmi, seokjins mother and wife of sim jaejoon, was a kind, loving, and warm person. seokjin always had unconditional love towards his mother. she was someone you can always smile and have fun with. she was caring, outgoing, smart, and was truly an angel.

she pulled her son in for a hug, "jin, i know...your freshman year hasn't been easy. but, never forget how powerful you are. you have a gift. we all do."

"but everyone thinks i'm a freak. people don't like being my friend. i'm all alone. i always hang out with grandpa." replied seokjin in an embarrassed tone.

his mother slightly chuckled, "he's a bit too much isn't he?"

seokjin let out a small giggle, "sometimes."

the woman wiped away her sons small tears and caressed his face, "always remember your power jin. don't forget it."

as seokjin walked down the halls of school he kept his eyes on the ground not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. he never liked looking at others. he knew people were sending him judging stares.

all of the sudden he heard a familiar voice, "hey! kim seokjin!"

but seokjin ignored it. he kept walking trying to avoid the trouble that can stir up any second. he kept walking and walking but he can hear foot steps getting closer and closer to him. when suddenly he felt himself being pushed to lockers behind him.

his eyes met with his bully, "what do you want?!" exclaimed seokjin in pure annoyance and anger.

"where's my money huh?" said the aggressive boy that was fives times bigger than seokjin.

"what money? i don't owe you anything!" hissed seokjin.

"you stole my ring you little rich boy!" exclaimed the bully as he pushed seokjin harshly against the lockers.

"if i'm a little rich boy why would i steal that dollar store ring of yours!" argued seokjin as his eyes began to water. suddenly he felt a throbbing pain on his cheek.

seokjin was harshly punched by his bully. he fell weakly to the ground moaning in pain. kids were surrounding the scene creating more of a commotion and drama.

the bully grabbed seokjin by the collar of his shirt, "i know- IT- WAS- YOU!" he exclaimed as he raised his fist.

"NO-I-DIDNT!" exclaimed seokjin as he let out all of his anger. he felt like all of his bottled up emotions  just erupted.

suddenly his bully went flying across the room slamming against a wall. he laid on the floor and was turning red trying to gasp for air. seokjin was slowly walking up to him staring down at him with the most darkest eyes.

"always remember your power jin. don't forget it."

the bully's eyes widened seeing the boys dark stare. he felt like he couldn't breathe. he tried gasping for air but he couldn't. he felt like someone was choking him but no one was. but all he could feel was pure fear and pain.

"SEOKJIN!" an old man's voice exclaimed.

suddenly seokjin broke his gaze off the bully. the boy let out a gasp and began coughing. the sound of kids talking over themselves echoed through out the school.

"both of you! in my office! now!" ordered the principal of the school.

"seokjin..my boy...what was that all about? tell me..what happened?" questioned the principle; professor jaebeom.

"grandpa...i-i didn't mean to hurt him.." replied seokjin quietly as he held an ice pack on his cheek.

"but what happened?"

seokjin rolled his eyes, "kangmin...he's been bullying me ever since the first day of school. i just...allowed him..to walk all over me. but i don't know...today i just lost it. he was being more aggressive than ever. he accused me of stealing a ring of his. but i didnt. i don't know it's just...today i snapped...and i-i just wanted to...just.."

"kill him?" interrupted professor jaebeom as he eyed his grandson.

seokjin stayed silent as his gaze fell to the ground, "i have a hard time controlling my powers. you know that grandpa. i-i could've killed him..." he said as a tear fell out of his eye.

professor jaebeom stood from his seat and made his way over to the seat next to seokjin. he softly pat his back and sighed, "well, i'm proud that today you finally realized your power. but seokjin, from now on...don't let people walk over you."

seokjin nodded at his grandfathers words. he always idolized him. his grandpa was a powerful man. suddenly the vice principal walked in, "dad...what's gonna happen?" questioned seokjin.

"don't worry son, we got it under control." he replied as he softly grabbed his sons shoulder, "moms gonna come and get you."

"i'm sorry dad.."

"don't be sorry son..like your grandfather said..we're proud of you...and from now on...don't let people walk over you. show that power of yours."

fall of 2001

"how's the teaching going?" questioned seokjins father; sim jaejoon.

"a little difficult...but...i love it." said seokjin in an exhausted voice.

"hey..have you been sleeping?" questioned professor jaejoon as he observed his dull looking son.

"oh..uh...well i don't know i've just been falling asleep late...grading and stuff like that. nothing to worry about dad." replied seokjin as he began to organize a shelf of his.

"seokjin...if there's anything going on...you can tell me." said his father sternly.

seokjin was experiencing intense nightmares and would have days where he would just blank out for long periods of time and would end up in different parts of the school or home. he would feel sick and get random bloody noses.

"dad i...i don't know i just haven't been feeling well." he said as he sat at his desk.

professor jaejoon eyed down his son with worry, "how long have you been feeling sick?"

"i don't know like...a week after school started."

"a- a week after school started?! i- seokjin?! how come you never told me or your mother?!" questioned the father in a panic.

"i-i don't know! i- i just don't want you guys to worry!" argued seokjin as he got up from his seat.

his father looked at his son with pure shock. he's never seen his son lash out like that before.

"i..im sorry...i-ive just been under a lot of stress lately...i didn't mean to lash out on you like that." apologized seokjin with a pure apologetic look.

"it's okay son...i get it. but seokjin...promise me...that if there's anything going on..or something you need help with...let me and your mom know.."

seokjin nodded at his fathers words. the man went over to his son and gave him a tight hug, "your mom and i will be waiting for you at home."

he nodded, "just gonna get everything cleaned up. i'll be at home...maybe like at around seven or eight."

later that night, seokjin walked out of his classroom exhausted. he began to put his coat and mittens on. the cold wether was getting extreme and he needed to get home quickly.

as he got closer to the exit of the school, he then suddenly stopped in his tracks. he checked his surroundings and felt uneasy. something in his gut was telling him to run. but he didn't know why.

no one was around, there was no unusual noise, and nothing seemed off. it was awfully quiet and all that could be heard was the strong winds that were dancing outside. his eyes laid on a large window and he saw snow falling quickly and trees swaying aggressively.

seokjin grabbed the doorknob and opened the door. the cold wind blasted towards him causing the man to shiver and sigh. he began to walk out of the school when suddenly something caught his eye.

he turned to his left and there he saw that the library lights were still on. seokjins face scrunched up in confusion as he began to walk towards the library. he placed his hand on the door and opened it. his eyes widened not expecting the door to be open.

he entered the library and felt the warm air hug his body, "miss yuna? you in here?! i thought you'd be closed!" exclaimed seokjin as he scanned the quiet dimmed library.

seokjin waited for a response but the librarian never spoke up, "miss yuna? are you here?!" he exclaimed as he slowly wales around the library trying to find his fellow staff member.

he slightly frowned as he looked around not finishing or hearing anyone. seokjin let out a deep sigh and began to make his way out of the library. when all of the sudden a loud thump from upstairs caught his attention.

"miss yuna?!" he called out in pure curiosity as he made his way to the upper level of the library.

he turned left and was met with a hall but had the dead end because of the restricted section of the library. seokjin turned right and there he was a pile of books on the floor at the far end.

"miss yuna? having trouble there?" questioned seokjin as he made his way to the shelf and to his surprise, no one was there except for a pile of books on the floor.

his face scrunched in confusion as he kneeled down and began to pick up the books. seokjin scanned the books and realized that these were books based on the history of the school and the myths of fallen angel academy.

seokjin chuckled as these books brought him flashbacks to his childhood. his grandfather and his father as well would always tell him stories about the incredible things that were hidden about fallen angel academy.

seokjin was about to slide in the last book into the self but suddenly he stopped. he felt uneasy. and suddenly the familiar sickening feeling creeped up his back making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, goosebumps racing down his body, and the same choked up feeling.

he quickly stood up and looked around the library as he hyperventilated. he became shaky and sweat began to form, "no no no.." he whispered to himself. he was about to exit the section he was in when all of the sudden he felt a powerful force take control of him.

seokjin felt like he was being choked. his eyes turned white as he began to slowly levitate in the air.

"today is the day, i take your stone kim seokjin..." said a creepy and deep voice full of evil.

"l-let..m-me...GO!" exclaimed seokjin trying to break out of the trance he was in.

all of the sudden he saw the same dark figure slowly walking towards him, "today is your last day." it said.

"no no no! PLEASE! PLEASE! i- i never did anything to you! who are you?! LEAVE ME ALONE!" exclaimed seokjin as tears began to fall out of his eyes while his nose bled and he began to feel weaker and weaker.

the evil dark figure let out a chuckle, "good bye...kim seokjin."

all of the sudden a large and deep gash starting from seokjins chest all the way down to his stomach formed. blood squirted out everywhere and his screams of agony echoed through the library.

a bright white light began to form in seokjins large and deep gash. he levitated. more into the air when suddenly a clear colored stone began to slowly exit his body.

seokjin then fell to the ground lifelessly. a final and single tear rolled out of his eye as more and more blood gushed out of his gash.

the dark cloaked figure held the clear stone in its hands. a smirk formed on his lips and in an instant, he disappeared.

jina's eyes bursted open as she quickly sat up and checked her surroundings. she was breathing heavily and suddenly she quietly winced in pain feeling a throbbing and burning sensation on her chest.

she looked down at the ground and there laid heeseung on a deep sleep. jina let out a deep and low sigh as she laid back down onto her bed. she closed her eyes to try and go back to sleep.

but her eyes shot open hearing a soft thump behind her. she sat up and looked around and she slightly jumped noticing that heeseung was gone. she felt confused. she didn't hear him walk away or anything.

"hee?" she quietly whispered not wanting to be loud.

but there was no response. she got up from her bed and slowly walked out of her room. she scanned the halls for any open doors or any lights that were on. suddenly the sound of water running downstairs caught her attention.

jina made her way down the stairs and saw that the kitchen light was on. she raised an eyebrow and tried peaking through the cracked open door.

"heeseung?" she questioned quietly as she pushed the door and there was heeseung standing by the sink with his back facing her.

"hee...you okay?"

heeseung slowly turned to look at jina, "y-yeah...just had a nightmare. i came down here to get some water." he spoke up slightly frowning.

"oh...yeah..don't worry...i had one too." said jina as she made her way towards him.

"really? are you okay though?" questioned heeseung as he slightly tilted his head.

"yeah im fine...i-i don't remember it. but are you okay hee? you seem really shaken up." said jina as she observed heeseungs tense and nervous body.

"oh don't worry...b-but yeah it was pretty bad.." he sighed.

"oh no...im sorry.." said jina as she slightly frowned, "come here.." she said as she held out her arms.

heeseung made his way towards the girl and hugged her tightly. jina couldn't help but notice how freezing cold heeseung was.

"jeez...you're cold.." she whispered.

"yeah...i know..." said a familiar deep and evil voice.

her eyes widened but it was too late. she looked up and noticed that she was hugging the dark cloaked figure. she felt her breathing stop and drop to her stomach. the lights in the kitchen were off and everything was gloomy.

and in an instant...jina disappeared into thin air...

"welcome back sim jina..."
