14; myth.

"jina, i am sorry for the things i said. i should have never spoke to you like that, especially after what you've been going through. i should have been more considerate and left you alone. again, i am terribly sorry and i hope you can forgive me."

my eyes wandered all over sunghoons bruised face. satisfaction quite filled me up seeing him like this, especially since i did it. i take a deep breath in and out.

"i....forgive you." i mumble under my breath in pure annoyance.

"so jina...again...i am sorry...that you went through that," said professor minhyuk, "i understand jina...but again, you'll be going through in school suspension for a week...just like the same as uh...last time."

i slowly nod, "okay.." i quietly say not knowing what else to say. it felt so awkward being in this kind of situation. again. he must think i'm such a horrible person.

now, i think everyone thinks that the sims are horrible people. people probably think that we're screwed up. maybe i am. i think i have a problem. i don't even know what to think about myself.

"jina...i just want to tell you...that...i know that...this whole thing has just been...i disaster...trust me...i haven't been...there...i miss soobin...i miss him dearly," said professor minhyuk in a soft voice, "and i'm sure you do too. i am terribly sorry that you had to experience all of this...especially at such a young age and...especially after your parents.."

i look down to the ground not wanting to think about my parents at the moment. i wouldn't even want to know what they think about me. they wouldn't be proud. they wouldn't like seeing how broken this family became.

"but jina...please do know...i'll always be here for you...you're my niece, i know you're innocent, and i know...that you are a bright soul...you know you can always trust me...okay?" reassured professor minhyuk, "i promised your parents that i'd look out for you...i always did."

i slowly nod, "thank you...im sorry about all of this...i..i haven't been able to process emotions well..lately."

professor minhyuk nodded, "i totally understand. i've been struggling a lot recently too. but, im trying my best you know?"

"y-yeah...me too." i reply awkwardly as my eyes wander around his office again. my eyes suddenly land on a cane and the top of it had some sort of snake design that looked like it was wrapped around some sort of stone.

"alright well...i'll release you. tomorrow, you'll be reporting to an ISS class during your last class period." explained professor minhyuk catching my attention.

"okay...thanks...again." i reply as i get up and eye the cane once again. i make my way out of the office passing by the barely crowded halls since school had already came to an end.

suddenly my eyes fall on heeseung who was walking down alone. we made eye contact and heeseungs eyes sparked. he took off his headphones and made his way over to me, tackling me into a big comforting hug.

"oh my god...jina...i..im so sorry.."

tears formed in my eyes, "hee...i- i don't know what happened...i-i just snapped...i-i couldn't control it.." i cried digging my face into his chest. heeseung held onto to me tightly as his hand rubbed my back.

"here..let's go to my dorm..come on.." whispered heeseung as he held my hand leading me out of the school.

the winter air blew into our faces causing us to slightly shiver. i can feel my face and body becoming tense with the cold air and the stares of the remaining students that were still here at school.

my eyes shot down to the ground not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. i've already had enough with the stares. i've already had enough with the whispering, the gossip, and just everything.

3rd person pov..

heeseung pulled jina closer to him as he eyed down the people who were staring at jina. eyes would shift to jina, then to heeseungs dark intimidating gaze, and down to the ground.

heeseung kept hearing things here and there about what happened in the gym. he was too far to see or hear anything that was happening. heeseung had wished that he was there for jina. but for now, all heeseung just wants to do is be there for her.

the two made it to the dorm building and they entered heeseungs dorm. the warm air hugged their bodies making their tense bodies ease up and relax. except for jina.

her eyes were still glued to the floor. her vision was blurry, her throat felt like it was closing, her jaw and fists were clenched.

"jina...sit down...come on..." said heeseung as he led her to his living room. jina couldn't help but let out a couple of tears that let loose. she quickly wiped them away as heeseung walked away into his kitchen to gather drinks and snacks for the two.

jina sniffled and cuddled into the corner of the couch trying to get comfortable. tears kept forming and falling down her cheek and into her mouth.

the sound of heeseungs speaker turning on caught the girls attention. music began playing and jina realized it was the playlist the two would always listen to when they were together. heeseung came back into the living room holding two mugs.

"here...i made you the hot chocolate you like," said heeseung softly as he placed it on the coffee table in front of the puffy eyed girl, "it's hot..be careful." finished heeseung as he laid his mug next to hers.

he went back into the kitchen and brought out a tray of snacks laying it out on the coffee table and then sitting next to the girl.

heeseung pulled jina in for a tight hug, "i'm so sorry i wasn't there jina...i should've been there."

she shook her head, "no..no im glad you weren't there..heeseung...everyone's going to think i'm...im some..monster."

"jina, sunghoon was the monster. he was the asshole for not leaving you alone." argued heeseung.

"i..i know but...i just felt like i should've been more controlling over myself...i shouldn't have snapped." said jina in an angry tone.

"sunghoon is the asshole in this situation. i've even heard some people say that it was sunghoons fault...and they're not wrong for that...he was so wrong for getting into your business!" talked back heeseung in an annoyed tone.

"but heeseung you don't get it! in the beginning of the school year i was already seen as trouble, then, yoon is...a..a murderer, a-and now here comes jina again beating someone up! hee, everyone now is going to know me as trouble, everyone's now gonna know me for having a sister that's a murderer, and now what? that's also going to leave a bad image on jake! i hate it here! ever since i've gotten here everything's just gotten worse!" cried jina.

heeseung couldn't help but frown. he pulled jina in for another hug. her sobs became muffled as she dug her face into the boys chest. heeseung hated seeing jina like this. he hated seeing how broken she was. he hated hearing her sobs. he's never gotten used to seeing her cry or hurt.

"just know jina, there are still people who know the real you. because, those are people...who really love you, understand you, and appreciate you. you're someone very special. especially to me. no matter what jina, i'll be someone...that cares for you dearly. no matter what, im always going to be with you."

jina couldn't help but cry more to heeseungs words. the wave of emotions that clashed down onto her made her sob even more. she didn't know that she could mean this much to someone.

all she could think of was heeseung always being there for her. especially everything that they went through, he never bothered to leave her side, he never bothered to stop caring, he never bothered to view her differently.

that was because the day she talked to him, made him realize that jina was someone who was special. jina showed him that even though many people said so much about him, she didn't care. she still talked to him. she still became his friend.

the two opened new pathways for one another. a pathway for a special friendship.

"heeseung...thank you...thank you..so much..." sobbed jina quietly as she wiped away her tears.

a soft smile formed on heeseungs lips, "i'll always be here jin. always."

jina slowly nodded and sent him a small smile, "me too..."

NEXT DAY

"jina, please report to the butterfly hall in room j4." whispered the teacher as she gave the girl a little paper slip and walked back up to the podium.

jina glanced at heeseung, "see you later." whispered jina as she pat his arm. heeseung nodded and sent her a soft smile.

jina quickly got out of her desk and grabbed her things. she made her way out of her last class period and she went down to the butterfly hall.

jina looked forward being back in mister jins classroom. he was a sweet teacher and she missed being in his classroom. especially since she hasn't seen him in a while.

jina made it to the classroom and knocked on the door. she heard distant footsteps get closer and closer and the door opened revealing mister jin, "welcome back jina." he chuckled.

"hello mister jin." chuckled jina as she entered the classroom.

"heard about what happened, i'm terribly sorry.." said mister jin as he frowned softly patting the girls back.

"jeez you're freezing," cringed jina as she noticed how cold him and his classroom was.

"o-oh yeah...my classroom really isn't the best one...heater is...not very functional." sighed mister jin in a disappointed tone.

"hopefully you can get an upgrade soon." said jina as she sat on a desk that was in front of mister jina desk.

"so jina, it's going to be like always you know? i'm not a teacher of discipline. so, do whatever you want." said mister jina as he began working on his paper work.

"cool," replied jina as she opened her back pack and took out her binder full of papers. suddenly jina's eyebrows raised.

"mister jin, i have a question.."

mister jin looked up from his papers, "what is it?"

"do you believe...if...there are like...hidden treasures? or like...hidden stones here at the school?" questioned jina remembering about that time heeseung had mentioned the school having many different types of myths.

mister jin slightly chuckled, "hm...well..i've heard about...the four element stones being...buried here at the school."

"do you believe it?" questioned jina.

mister jin squinted his eyes, "in all honesty, i do not know what to believe when it comes to this school."

"hm...tell me more.." requested jina, "please?"

mister jin chuckled, "hm...well...what i've heard...long ago, a powerful family was born. this family were in control of the elements of nature and were in charge of the stones of each element. one being earth; the green stone, water stone; the blue stone, fire stone; the red stone, and the air stone; the white stone..."

"hm...it kind of makes sense since the schools halls or whatever are based off of them.." said jina.

mister jin nodded, "well, one day, this family was faced with evil. this evil was jealous. these evil people would do anything for more power."

"was it the stones?" questioned jina.

"yes, but no. you see, what i've heard, was that there was a stone in particular that was the most powerful of all. a soul stone. a beautiful orange stone. there were many wars that went on for the soul stone. the soul stone was allowed to be given or taken. when given, it can make anyone comeback to life, but when taken....you...would have to kill someone you loved...which just sounds...horrible."

jina winced at those words, "crazy...then what happened?!"

"well, from what i have heard...the earth element family built this school, hiding their stones from the evil. especially the soul stone. some say the evil is still out there searching til this day." finished mister jin with a shrug.

"huh...that sounds...cool...but crazy." said jina.

mister jin shrugged and let out a small chuckle, "eh, i don't know...i mean, it's just a myth you know?"

"yeah...i guess." replied jina as she shrugged as well.

but suddenly, jina began to think.

evil.
souls.

yoon.
soobin.

"m-mister jin...do you believe in...evil?" questioned jina.

mister jin froze. he looked at the girl, "th-that's a difficult question to answer honestly. i don't know, do you?"

jina chewed on her lip staying quiet, "i don't know...i think so.."

"why is that?"

"b-because...i..i think...something evil is lurking in this school. for some reason, with what's been going on in my family, i feel like this...evil...has been...taking over my family." explained jina in an unsure tone.

mister jin sent jina a worried look, "i've had a bad feeling as well. you're not the only one."

"sh-should i do something about...it?"

"what do you mean?"

jina sighed, "look it's because...i don't think...yoon...intended to murder soobin. it- it just doesn't make sense. nothing makes sense. she's been hospitalized because she had a bad incident in her jail cell. her cell mate said that she seemed possessed...said she was seeing a man, and was saying that something was going to get jake next.."

mister jin let out a shaky breath, "jina..this...is something you need to look into. because, i can understand what you're feeling."

jina slightly nodded, "okay...well...something that i want to know is that...if this school is haunted? like, do you know if any people have died here?"

mister jin shifted uncomfortably in his seat. he cleared his throat and looked at his computer, "hm..well...i did...uh...hear that uh..maybe a couple of deaths happened around the school."

"oh my god are you serious? every time i've searched up if there have been any deaths around this area it would say nothing. well i mean, soobin is one of them..but now." said jina as she went through her binder.

"maybe try looking for you know...old school records?" recommended mister jin.

"where would that be?" questioned jina.

"a very..very...restricted part of the library.." said mister jin.

a smirk formed on jina's face. she sighed and leaned back on her chair, "time...for some more...trouble.."
