11; the murder of choi soobin

❆︎

i would say november 4th is officially the day i absolutely hate the most.

watching my cousin die was something i never thought i'd ever see. i never thought that one second i'd be having fun at a party, the next..watching my cousin getting murdered, and the next being in a police station with no one.

the events of soobin dying replayed in my head over and over and over again. i couldn't get the image out of my head. his bone chilling screams. his blood flying all over the place.

i can feel my body tensing up remembering each and every detail. my eyes widening each and everytime an image played in my head.

after heeseung and i were found in the classroom i couldn't look at professor minhyuk anymore. his sons blood was splattered on my clothes and face. heeseung and i couldn't speak due to how shock we were.

police surrounded the school and everyone from the party had to leave while heeseung and i were transferred to police cars.

"are you ready miss sim?"

i get taken out of my thoughts and look up. i see a detective and police officer, "jina, if you need to take a break, you can...but you're gonna have to cooperate with us. so, now, do you think you could explain to me what happened?"

i took a deep breath in and out while slowly nodding.

"good, now, tell me what you did through out the day." said the detective.

"i got out of school to get ready for jays party. i went to my dorm, hung out with heeseung and we got dressed for the party. during the party heeseung and i did drink a bit. w-we....we wanted to be alone so we went out to our hang out spot which is an abandoned greenhouse kind of like in back of the school..." i explain calmly as my memories began to play in my mind.

"we went to the green house and laid there with my picnic stuff. then...uh...heeseung and i heard screaming. someone was screaming "help". uhm...then....heeseung and i got out of the greenhouse...to see like...wh-who was...uh..screaming.."

third person pov..

the detective and cop listening to jina began to notice how tense the girl became. every second she'd pause or clear her throat due to her throat tightening to prevent herself from breaking,

"heeseung and i walked down the woods...a-and behind these bushes...there was a large stone...a-and...uh..."

tears started to form in jina's eyes and her voice began to crack.

"it's okay jina, take your time sweetie.." spoke up the detective.

jina looked up at the man and sent him a small nod. she took a deep breath in and out while picking up her water bottle to take a sip of water.

"so uh...there was a large stone...and soobin...h-he...he was tied down. um...i-i went up to him...took off the tape over his mouth a-and he kept telling me to leave and not help him..." explained jina as tears slipped out of her eyes.

"then, there was a cloaked figure...i thought the cloaked figure wa-was going to help him...b-but..no..th-they....t-took out a knife...a-and...stabbed him..."

chills ran down the detective and cops spine as they shared looks.

"a-and...the person...d-dragged...th-the knife down a-all the way down...t-to his....st-stomach.." explained jina while cringing remembering the awful gruesome events playing through her head.

sobs filled the silent room, "alright jina, take a break here...you're doing an amazing job.." said the detective as he sent the girl a reassuring look.

jina tried wiping away her tears but more and more kept spilling out.

"we are going to need more details but only speak when you're ready okay?"

jina looked up at the cop and nodded as she grabbed her water bottle and drank more water. a couple of minutes passed and jina was able to collect herself and began to speak up.

"so...after that...heeseung and i tried to run from the situation to get uh..help. but the person began to chase us. they threw a knife i guess and it sliced my arm...." said jina as she showed her poorly bandaged bloody arm that was wrapped in a piece of heeseungs shirt.

"heeseung and i made it..close to the school. we saw an open window and we got in for safety. and well...there we were found by uh...professor minhyuk and another teacher."

the detective and cop nodded at the girl. the detective finished writing down in his note pad, "alright jina, thank you so much for being able to tell us everything. but i am very sorry for your loss and that you had to witness all of that. just right now one of our workers called an abulance so they can treat your wound. do you need us to contact anyone?"

"c-can i see heeseung first?" questioned jina.

"if he's finished with his questioning we'll bring him in. but do you still want to call someone?" questioned the detective.

"uh yeah..i'd like to make a call.." said jina

jina was given the detectives phone and she dialed aunt lunas number,

hello?
a-aunt luna?
j-jina!? is this you!?
yes..aunt luna-
JINA! tell me where you are! please!
i-im at the police station...im gonna be transferred to the hospital in a bit though..
i'll meet you at the hospital! okay!?
o-okay..

as soon as jina put down the phone tears rolled down her face. this night was just traumatic to her she doesn't know if she'll be able to handle aunt lunas heavy emotions.

suddenly the door opened and there stood a pale looking heeseung, "j-jina.."

"heeseung..." sighed the girl in relief as she slowly stood up and hugged the boy tightly. heeseung carefully hugged her not wanting to hurt her arm. but being in each other's arms comforted them.

jina began to sob into his chest. heeseung tightly shut his eyes to prevent himself from crying.

hours later, jina was laying on the hospital bed with heeseung by her side. she had barely gotten her arm stitched up and she was waiting to get discharged from the hospital.

jina and heeseung were told that they were gonna have to soon go back to the police station for more questioning about the murder of choi soobin.

the hospital door opened and aunt luna walked in with a nurse, "let's go guys.."

heeseung quickly stood up and helped jina out of the bed.

"heeseung...can you please stay over with me tonight...i don't think i can be alone.." said jina in a shaky voice.

without hesitation heeseung nodded.

the two felt like they couldn't be alone after what just happened. heeseung and jina needed each other. they both experienced the most traumatizing thing ever.

jina and heeseung walked through the lobby and outside they saw police men talking to aunt luna.

"WHAT?! NO! NO!"

jina and heeseung filled with worry suddenly seeing aunt luna go in a panic mode. the two hurried outside.

"MA'AM...y-youre gonna have to calm down!" said the police man trying to calm the panicked woman.

"what's going on?" questioned jina.

the police officer turned to his partner who sent him a small nod, "okay..sim jina...um...we were able to get your older brother jaeyun home...but uh...his twin sister jayun...uh...she's missing."

jina felt sick with the news she was hearing, "w-what? i- are you guys going to find her?!"

the police officer nodded, "we've already sent some officers and our search dogs to look for her..because..with a killer on the loose and a missing teenage girl who was probably intoxicated is not a good mix."

a tear fell out of jina's eye, "shit.." she mumbled.

all heeseung did was pull her in for a tight and comforting hug, "don't worry jin...th-they'll find her...i know it.."

jina, aunt luna, and heeseung got home to a police car outside their house. a police officer was standing at the porch while jake was wrapped in a blanket and slowly drowsing off while sitting on the steps of the porch.

"j-jake!"

jake looked up and there he saw his younger sister jogging towards him. jake let out a breath of relief seeing that his little sister was safe.

"oh my god..." he sighed and he hugged jina tightly, "jin...i-i was worried sick...oh my god..i-i heard...i'm so sorry you...had to just...see all of that.."

tears fell out of the two siblings eyes, "i-i'm just glad you're safe." mumbled jina.

"guys guys...i-im sorry but im going with the police to look for yoon..keep your doors locked! there will be a police here keeping watch," explained aunt luna in a hurry as she gave each kid a quick hug and left with a fellow police officer.

the three kids stared down the police car that made its way out of the property. suddenly jake eyed down heeseung and slowly sighed. tension build up inside of jina not knowing what jake was thinking.

"hey man...s-sorry i've been...hard on you. should've gotten to know you first. thank you so much..for keeping jina safe." said jake as he sent heeseung a small smile.

heeseungs nervous expressions suddenly changed to calm and soft. he slowly nodded, "of course. she means a lot to me."

jake patted heeseungs shoulder aggressively, "alright guys...l-let's just..try to get some sleep.."

"jake...h-how are you feeling though? i mean about yoon?" questioned jina in a worried and sad tone.

jake frowned, "i'm praying to god that she's at one of her friends dorms or something. i'm worried sick jina...like...wh-what if...what if she's..."

"no...no..jake..no i don't think she'd be.."

tears began to fall out of jakes eyes, "i don't know what i would do without yoon...sh-she needs to be found.."

"hopefully she's found...we need her.." replied jina as a tear slipped out of her eye.

during the night, heeseung and jina couldn't sleep comfortably. heeseung was on the inflatable mattress while jina laid in her large bed staring at the ceiling.

every time she closed her eyes all that would pop into her mind was soobin being gruesomely murdered and his bone chilling screams echoing through her ears.

same for heeseung. he would silently cry not wanting jina to hear him. heeseung has never seen such horrible scene.

jina turned to her side. her puffy red eyes landed on a heeseung who had his back toward the girl.

"h-heeseung.." whispered jina.

heeseung slolwy looked back with puffy eyes, "y-yeah?"

"i...i cant sleep.."

the boy slowly sat up while sniffling, "yeah..i cant sleep either.."

jina nodded and stayed silent for a good couple of seconds, "can you...lay next to me...please? or well...if you want,"

without hesitation heeseung got up and laid himself next to jina.

she eyed the boy with her sore eyes and sent him a small smile. heeseung pressed his lips together and sent jina a soft expression to try and comfort her. jina began to slowly scoot closer to heeseung who had the calmest expression. although he was quite panicking in his mind.

heeseung slowly pulled jina into him. her face hid in his chest and she hugged the boy back. this seemed to ease the two and they felt great. jina could feel the boys heart beating and hearing his soft breathing.

jina's eyes began to slowly close once she felt heeseungs hand softly caressing her back. he then began to softly hum a song to try and ease jina.

it was 4 am, and finally; jina and heeseung were fast asleep in each other's arms.

FALLEN ANGEL ACADEMY/ 4:30 am..

police men were all over the school looking for more clues and also looking for sim jayun. aunt luna who was searching for hours was ordered to take a break. she had dried tears in her cheeks, puffy red and sore eyes, a flushed nose and cheeks while smoking a cigarette.

aunt luna was observing the scene. police cars were everywhere, caution tape, and wooden stands to block people from entering the crime scene. police dogs were sniffing the area, police men and women were on the ground pointing out the small details of information that can help them out with the murder of choi soobin.

suddenly her eyes landed on a devastating looking professor minhyuk. tears were falling out of his eyes and he just looked tired. aunt luna couldn't help but feel terribly sorry for the man.

"sir...why don't you take a break. go sit out for a bit yeah? we will update you if we get anything. but please, go take a break,"

professor minhyuk nodded that the sheriffs words and began to make his way over to the area where luna was taking her break. there was a silence once minhyuk made it to the area.

"minhyuk...i-im terribly...terribly sorry for your loss. i know how much soobin meant to you."

minhyuk sent luna a nod and calm expression, "i- it's...it's just...difficult to...p-process.."

"i'm sure...loosing a child is...is something a parent never wants to face. i cant imagine...what you're feeling right now.."

minhyuk sighed as he grabbed his water bottle and sat himself next to luna, "i don't know...i-i don't know luna...i-..i just cant.."

suddenly minhyuk began to softly weep, "i-i'm sorry.." he stuttered trying to take a breath.

luna frowned and she pulled the man in for a hug. even though she never really got along with the man because of their problematic past, she felt like she now needed to put all of those problems away and be there for a man she's known for a long time.

she felt like right now was just a time to be mature and be there for him. minhyuk hugged luna tightly as his tears fell on her shoulder.

"you will be okay minhyuk...you'll be okay...everything will be okay.."

"WE FOUND HER!"

luna and minhyuk quickly turned towards the voice and found police officers making their way over close to the school.

luna and minhyuk quickly made their way towards the scene, "MY YOON! LET ME SEE MY YOON!" exclaimed luna as she pushed her way through the police officers.

she suddenly stopped seeing yoon covered in blood. her arms were full of blood and her face had blood splatters. luna suddenly began to cry.

"NO- NO! NO! IS SHE DEAD!?" exclaimed luna trying to get to her niece.

"no, but she's unconscious." explained an officer, "we need to get her to the hospital."

"ma'am, follow me! you'll be able to get in the ambulance with her." explained an officer.

luna and minhyuk shared looks until she finally left off with the officers and paramedics. minhyuk slowly turned back to the scene and his eyes widened seeing the police men finding new clues.

3 Days Later....

"thank you for being an amazing cousin..miss you..a lot." said jina as she placed flowers onto soobins casket.

heeseung and jina exited out of the cemetery while wiping away their tears. soobins funeral was a tragic event.

the two got home with jake as well and they all sat in the dining room discussing what happened during the funeral.

"poor professor minhyuk...he couldn't stop crying." spoke up jake as he filled a cup of water.

"he looked like he hadn't slept in days...tsh..i cant imagine what he's feeling right now.." added heeseung while slowly shaking his head.

"but...especially you guys as well..like...i mean..you guys...saw him die.." said jake in an uncomfortable tone.

"and sadly that news spread like fucking wild fire." scoffed jina as she shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

heeseung was about to speak up when suddenly the sound of the front door slamming open and many voices arguing echoed through the house.

panic rose in the three kids as they quickly got up and entered the living room seeing officers and aunt luna in a panic.

"eh-whats going on?" questioned jina.

"go up to your room!" exclaimed aunt luna as she pointed at each kid.

"wh-where's yoon?!" jake brought up since she was no where to be seen.

a group of cops had to separate a panicking aunt luna from the kids while one took the three kids into a room.

"officer..what's going on?" questioned jake as he sent a worried look.

the cop sighed, "um...well kids...i am disappointed to..say that..your guys's sister...is...involved with the murder of choi soobin."

jina, heeseung, and jakes eyes widened. their hearts began to race and they felt like someone tore out their throats.

"wh-what?"
