(CherryBerry)

It was 11:45 p.m., New Year's Eve, the party raging. Bodies swayed with the music loud enough to shake the ground, everyone was drunk, or tipsy. Either way, the alcohol was no where near stopping. As all that happened inside the building, Blue was out on the porch, staring at the stars.

Why wasn't the hyperactive, absolutely happy-go-lucky skeleton inside, partying it up to his soul's content? Well, you see, Blue's boyfriend of two years, Grillby, broke up with him that morning. He doesn't even know why he came to the party, if he knew all he was gonna do was mope around.

"Hm, what's a sweetheart like you doing out here all alone?" A gruff voice asked as the door to the outside swung open, letting the music scream at the outside world before quieting down when the door swung shut. Blue turned slightly to see a skeleton slightly taller than him, maybe by an inch at least, with a black jacket and shorts, red tennis shoes with the laces not tied. A blush rose to Blue's face at the nick-name. He quickly looked away.

"I-I sorry, is there s-something I can help y-you with?" Blush stammered, mentally cursing himself for looking so weak in front of the hot stranger. Wait, hot? He asked himself, his blush increasing.

"Well, no, not really. I'm kinda just heartbroken." The stranger sighed, leaning on the railing next to Blue. Blue sighed a nodded, the memory of Grillby breaking up with him replaying in his mind.

"I know how you feel. I'm Blueberry, but my friends call me Blue."  Blue said, holding out his hand. The stranger smiled slightly, reaching out and shaking his hand.

"Red. Some of my asshole friends call me Cherry." 'Red' responded. Blue giggled cutely, smiling at him. They stood there in an awkward silence.

"So, you got dumped on New Year's Eve, too, huh?" Blue asked, finally breaking the ever-so-heavy silence. Red sighed, looking down at the city as the people and monsters scurried around like ants. Red nodded, confirming his statement.

"Yeah, his name was Classic. He broke up with me for some fire monster named Grillby." Red growled and spat out their names like venom on his tongue. Blue spat out his drink and whirled his head to look at Red in shock, making Red jump in surprise." What?!"

"Grillby is my ex!" Blue exclaimed. They stared at each other for a moment, before bursting into laughter. Blue set his drink down, and covered his mouth, his sides begining to hurt. Red slipped and fell, still laughing. Eventually, they calmed down and Red stood back up, smiling like at idiot, who returned the favor.

"Wait, Classic was actually cheating on me with Grillby, which means..." Red trailed off, looking at Blue. Blue snarled, picking up his drink and tossing it. It hit the building across the street and went tumbling to the ground. Luckily, it didn't hot anybody. Blue rolled his eyes.

"I should've known. He started acting like a dick after a while." Blue groaned, looking off to the side. He felt two warm arms wrapped around him, rubbing circles I'm a soothing manner on his back. He looked up and locked eyes with Red. Suddenly, they heard cheering inside.

"5! 4!"

Red held his waist, looking down at him heasitantly. Blue carefully wrapped his arms around Red's neck, their mouths less than an inch apart.

"3! 2!"

They slowly closed their eyes, leaning in slightly closer.

"1!"

They could feel each other's warm breath, their body heat keeping each other warm in the cool breeze.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Red kisses Blue.
