(AfterDeath)

Geno peered into the cave warily. It was said a furious beast lived there, catering on the poor and idiotic souls that dared to enter. It was very well proven that the demon that lurked in the cave gave no mercy. Seven children who were foolish enough to enter, never returned. Everyone steered clear, if they wanted to stay alive. Key word; wanted.

Geno swallowed his fear and took a quiet step into the cave. His sould pounded against his ribcage, his mind telling him, begging him to turn around. He shook his head, ridding his brain of the thoughts and contioued forward, deeper into the cave.

As he went on, it got darker and darker until he couldn't see anything. And in the pitch black, a hand reached out and grabbed his shoulder. He shrieked, whirling around and smacking whatever the hand belonged to. He heard someone -or something- hiss in pain. A bright light shown through. Once his red adjusted, he gasped. It was one of the missing children, Chara. She glared at him.

"Go away, Geno." She snapped. Geno shook his head, grabbing her wrist.

"Chara, we've been grieving for months! Why are you still in here?!" Geno questioned angrily, but his tone concerned. Chara quickly pulled her wrist from Geno's grasp as a loud growl bounced off the walls.

"I don't wanna leave him alone! None of us do!" Chara said. Geno looked at her, confused as hell.

"Him? Us? What?" Geno asked. Suddenly, the other six children stepped forward, each of them looking either ashamed of determined.

"Geno, you have to go!" Chara told him, pushing him back towards the cave exit.

"Who is him?!" Geno shouted, flinging his arms into the air. Suddenly, he felt the same hand curl around his wrist and lift him into the air. Chara held the flashlight on him, and he saw his face.

Scratched and scarred, he could clearly make out two dark, soulless holes for eyes, curled horns sticking out the side of it's head. It bared it's fangs, glaring at him. He spoke, his voice low and intimidating, but smooth.

"Leave the children be, 'Geno'." He said his name as though it were alien, poison on his tongue. Geno gulped, before Chara tugged at the creatures torn cloak, begging him to safely place him down.

"H-He's an old friend! Don't hurt him!" Chara said, looking at him pleadingly. He grumbled under his breath, reluctantly setting Geno on the ground. Geno looked at Chara.

"What is it?" He asked, backing away. He growled, his 'eyes' narrowing. He was not an 'it'. He was a he. He had a gender, therefore, he was not an it. Chara gave Geno a dirty look.

"I don't know what he is, but I know he is not an it." Chara said. Reaper got down on all fours, nuzzling her affectionately. Chara giggled, petting him like some sort of pet. He purred. Geno chuckled slightly." His name is Reaper. He's really sweet."

"And protective." One of the other children spoke up. Geno nodded, sweating a little.

"Uh, yeah, I could tell." He mumbled, looking off to the side. Reaper  looked at Geno, turning his head to the side.

"Would you like to stay?" He asked, Chara carefully dragging their fingers along his horns." You seem to have quite the emotional attachment to Chara."

Geno looked at Chara, then at Reaper, and flushed. Reaper looked rather innocent. Chara giggled, wagging their eye brows. Geno sighed, giving Chara a look, before looking Reaper in the 'eyes'.

"Yeah, I'll stay."
