God of War 3 Zeus Boss Fight 2

[A/N: Okay, so I skipped ahead and won't be showing the fight inside Gaia cause I find it repetitive as fuck. So I'll just be showing the dark Zeus battle+ the ending.
And another thing, much like I used the name Zeus to substitute the GoL, I'm gonna use Hades for the GoD]

A few minutes after lats chapter...

"Right, now that y'all are back. Shall we begin?" Saber turned to her audience taking their seats.

"Heck yeah! Let's do it." Yang cheered.

"Oh, right. Before we begin, this next one skipped a couple hours of fighting between Salem and the GoL inside Gaia. Ya know just a heads up." Saber said turning in the screen once more.

The scene opens, just as Salem drives the Blade of Olympus towards Zeus, and Gaia's heart. Zeus groans and tries to push her back, to no avail as the Blade continued to thrust into him, the heart of Gaia glows red as stones from above come crashing down on them.

"What the fuck? Where even are they" Winter squinted at beating heart.

"They're literally inside Gaia, mother of the Titans and Earth itself." King answered. Everyone just nodded because this sounded like a complicated story.

Meanwhile outside, Gaia screams in pain as she suffered from a massive heart attack. Her body quite literally falling apart as it crushes Mount Olympus beneath her titanic body.

"Wait. If she's the Earth, how the hell does she have a body?" Weiss turned confused at Saber.

"Weiss, darling. Even I am afraid, of that mystery." Saber looked at the heiress with a straight face.

The view once again changes, revealing Salem twitching on the ground having survived the dying Gaia. Standing up, she walks forward, spotting Zeus's corpse with the Blade of Olympus stuck inside him.

"Finally! Good riddance, asshole." Roman stretched his arms, before getting smacked by an umbrella.

"Nice job, Torchwick. You jinxed it." Mercury rolled his eyes.

"Fucks sake. Neo stop hitting me!" Roman complained shielding himself from the mute.

Her vengeance complete. Salem pulls out the Blade of Olympus and walks away as the consequences of her actions are seen behind her.

Suddenly something happens, just as Salem walks away. Tiny sparks began to audibly appear, as a darker more sinister version of Zeus emerged from the wound made by the blade.

"I grow weary of you, my daughter!" Dark Zeus said, channeling his power into a powerful lighting the blinds the screen.

"What!? Fuck you, I thought you said dead people aren't supposed to come back! Hypocrite!" Salem yelled in frustration, now on the verge of throwing hands with the GoL herself.

"Man, she sure hates the gods, huh?" Scarlet whispered to their team.

"Yes! Let the hate fuel your blade Salem." Saber egged on the immortal witch.

"Dude, you're not gonna get copyright for stealing an insignificant line." King rolled his eyes at the goddess.

"Alright, fine." Saber grunted, holding in her breath.

"LET THE RAGE OF SPARTA FUEL YOUR BLADE SALEM."

"Happy now?" Saber looked at her partner.

"Yup." King replied with a thumbs up.

Salem regains consciousness, finding that all of her previous weapons have been rendered useless or destroyed.

Even in her exhausted state, Salem still tries to stand defiant. Dark Zeus grabbed a hold of Salem by the neck in his rage.

"I created you. And I will be your end!" Dark Zeus snapped, choking the life out of Salem.

"Rarely do I cheer for the enemy. But, kick his ass!" Summer yelled in support.

"Let the fear inside you, Salem" Dark Zeus said, as he watched Salem's life slowly ebb away.

Then snap. As Salem fades into unconsciousness.

"Seems kinda redundant, when you're afraid everyday ain't it?" Mercury said out of nowhere.

"What are you talking about?" Cinder at the assasin with furrowed brows.

"I mean, were from Remnant. Where one person, be it neighbor or some stranger kilometers away could potentially wipe an entire city from the map because he felt scared confessing his feelings or something. I mean, really? Let fear inside you? Its subconscious, its not a fucking light switch or something." Mercy rolled his eyes.

"Wow, Mercury. I thought you left your brain cells at Haven. Guess I was wrong." Emerald said in surprise.

Darkness fell on the screen, as Salem's shadowy figure is presented to walk in nothingness.

"Nothing but darkness lies ahead, Salem." The voice of Zeus rang in her head, as she ran forward into the darkness.

"Mother, please! Do not leave us again." A voice of a little girl said.

"What the-" Ozpin muttered, shocked as he heard the very familiar voice.

"No! No! No! No! Not again!" Salem buried her head inside her trembling hands.

"Ahhhh!!!" The girl screamed, as the path ahead revealed an empty brazier as Salem continued to to run towards the crying girl's voice.

Salem continued to blindly push forward, following the seemingly neverending trail of blood.

Soon her surroundings changed, showing a blazing fire in neverending void as Salem continued to press forward.

Salem finally stops, as two blood red figures block her path.

"Father! What's happening outside? The people! The fire!" The little girl asked clinging to her father.

"Shh, stay close, Calliope." Her father said, pulling the little girl close for a hug.

"Father, I'm scared... Are they coming to get us?" The girl asked in choked up voice.

"Your mother will protect us." Her father assured her with certainty.

"Burn this village! Burn it to the ground!" Salem's voice ordered, as the sound of doors breaking are heard.

"Mommy?" The little girl looked up from her father's embrace.

"Salem!" The man... Ozma... Said only to be cut down by Salem.

"No mother. No!" The girl cried in despair before Salem killed her in a rage.

Salem clenches her head in agony as her memories of that night come crashing in. Powerless to stop them.

The audience stood in stunned silence, as they watched the scene unfold.

"She... She killed them... She killed her family, that's how she failed them." Ruby said, too teary eyed and stunned to offer much commentary.

Salem clenched her hand hard on the edge of her seat... Getting reminded of her daughter's deaths.

"My husband. My child. How? They were left in Sparta..." Salem's broken voice rang loudly. While the real Salem continued to fight off her memories.

"Ironwood!" The voice of Salem yelled in rage. While the real Salem pressed onwards amidst the pain caused by her memories.

Lost  and powerless, Salem hits a dead end. Amidst the small whisperings of her conscience, another voice sprang out to quiet the rest.

"Salem! Come, I can show you the way." Penny said optimistically, as the floor connects revealing another path.

"Penny's back!" Ruby cheered as the rest looked at the screen filled with just a bit more hope.

Salem followed the path Penny set for her, following the voice as she continued to run.

"Hurry! I can help Salem." The voice said with optimism.

Soon it leads her back to the same brazier, but this time the body of a familiar girl lay beside it.

Salem quickly kneels down to help her up, but Penny merely looked at her, before speaking.

"Salem. In the darkness, the fires of hope will set us free." Penny told her, before erupting into flames and into the once empty brazier. Taking the lamp underneath it, she dips it into the flame before continuing onwards.

As she followed the faint trail of blood, she stumbles back upon the same memory. When Salem slowly approached, she hears Ozma's voice once more.

"You can see the light. It is changing you. Its time to let your fears to rest." Ozma's voice reassured Salem.

"The light reveals the truth. The power of forgiveness, cones from within. To be forgiven you must find the power to forgive yourself." Ozma said as Salem approached her family, pulling them into a hug one final time as they are engulfed in blue flames.

"Wiser words have never been spoken." Ozpin shared a look with Salem.

"Easier said than done." Salem gritted her teeth.

"Cinder? Are you alright?" Emerald turned to her boss/mom, who was staring off into space.

"Oh. No, its nothing. Just remembered something that I thought I've forgotten." Cinder  assured, subtly signalling that she doesn't want to talk about it.

"Okaaay?" Emerald nodded.

Soon the tiny blue flame flew forward, as if leading Salem somewhere. As she continued to follow it the scene began to change.

Soon she is confronted by another memory. This time it was her and Summer Rose as she attempted to stop Salem only a day before.

"No, Salem! Stop!" Summer yelled as the memory Salem struck her with the Blade of Olympus.

"Mom!" Ruby and Yang yelled in unison.

"Summer! No!" Memory Salem pulled back in remorse.

Meanwhile, Salem got closer to Summer as she laid on the ground dying.

"Fear, drove Zeus to kill his father Kronos. The same fear, that brought the Great War. A fear that drove Zeus to kill you, his own daughter." Summer said with her dying breath.

"Fear. No weapon quite like it." Emerald agreed.

"Sure your an asshole for using someone's fears. But damn if it ain't effective." Mercury surprisingly agreed.

"Zeus uses fear to keep you in the dark. Confront your demons and lay them to rest." Summer said with her final breath, fading into a blue flame that leads Salem to the edge of nothingness.

"Wise words, Ms. Rose..." Glynda nodded.

"Well, she ain't the goddess of wisdom for nothing." King said, passing a bottle of wine to Saber.

"Shame, she turned into such a bitch..." Saber muttered.

Salem carefully approached the edge. Looking down, she let go of the lamp containing the flame. As she slowly stepped forward.

"The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me. Now there is..." Salem's voice rang out as she plunged into the void with only a small lamp for guidance.

"Deja vu?" Saber raised an eyebrow towards the Grimm Queen.

"Ahh, yes. Such fun times." Salem glared at their host, before rolling her eyes.

"Remember kids. Plummeting face first at a high velocity from a certain height is not the solution. Never try this at anywhere." King reminded EVERYONE. YES YOU TOO.

"Salem!" A voice screamed as she splashed into the water filled with blood, followed by the screams of dying.

"Do you remember that day, Spartan?" The voice of Hades rang loudest among the screams, as Salem continued to swim towards the lamp.

"I won't allow you to hurt her!" The voice of Pietro rang inside her as she picked up the lamp.

"Dad?" Penny said with a hint of loneliness and surprise.

"Goodluck with that little whore, you call Penny" the voice of Glynda flew into the mix.

"Wow. Goodwitch, didn't know you were such a bitch. Oh, wait." Roman mocked the huntress.

"Shut your filthy mouths, you degenerates! Penny is an innocent little girl. And if you so much as corrupt her, I'll drown you in your own blood." Winter growled at Roman, covering Penny's ears.

"Umm... Miss Winter? What does whore mean?" Penny asked the specialist, making Winter gasp and glare at Glynda.

"Ohh... Well, how should I put this. Shut down!" Winter yelled, flipping a temporary sleep switch on Penny.

"Crisis averted." Winter sighed in relief.

"Gee, Winter didn't know you could be such a mom." Qrow laughed, teasing the older Schnee sister.

"Well, I don't know about you. But I happen to be in need a new mommy." Cinder sent a wink towards Winter. Well more like threw herself at Winter.

"Get... Off me!"

"You cannot change your destiny mortal."

"I gave you everything."

"Please, don't do it Spartan."

"You have what you came for, let me be!"

"Today, you may defeat me! But in the end, Salem, in the end you'll betray only yourself."

Different voices rang inside his head, as Salem swam aimlessly across the water.

"Come I can show you the way." Penny's voice once again broke him from his trance.

As Salem swam after the light, Zeus's voice continued to yell in frustration in the distance.

"Die, Salem!"

"I created you and I will be your end!"

"Hurry!" Penny's voice continued to keep Salem on track.

"Why won't you die!"

"Yeah. Its called being immortal. That's what immortality does moron." Salem said sarcastically.

"Die!"

"Tremble in fear!"

"Over here, Salem!" Penny's voice continued to guide the Spartan.

"Hush!" Zeus snapped.

"Hurry, Salem! Salem, please. I need tou to free me." Penny's voice continued to ring inside her mind.

"Don't listen to her, Salem. For once in your pathetic life, don't fail. Don't fail her like you failed your family." Zeus's voice rang in her head.

"Thank you, our beloved deity of Remnant. For inspiring Me. To the exact fucking opposite." Salem flipped a middle finger at the screen.

"In all our immortal life, never have I seen her be this sarcastic when she's angry." Ozpin whispered enough for Glynda to hear.

"Sometimes professor. You're life story is why I don't wanna get married." Glynda shook her head.

"Its alright Salem." Penny reassured Salem as she swam out of the water to reach the flame.

"As the fear in the gods rose. Mine was replaced by hope." Penny's voice told Salem as she approached the Box of Pandora once more.

"Wasn't the box empty?" Ruby looked at the screen confused.

"No, you dunce. Perhaps the physical manifestation of the box is empty, but perhaps the box never contained an actual physical weapon to kill a god..." Weiss said trailing off.

"Meaning?" Yang raised an eyebrow at the heiress.

"Meaning the weapon is something found within. Something that has been buried deep beneath Salem's guilt and anger..." Weiss began only to be interrupted by Saber.

"The power of hope, perhaps?" Saber raised an eyebrow with a smile.

"Exactly!" Weiss said in agreement.

"The power to kill a god." Salem said again, as she opened the box once more.

The screen flashes white. And a brief recap of Salem's past is briefly shown as she wakes up with a new found power in her.

"Hope is what makes us strong. It is why we are here, it is what we fight with when all else is lost." Penny's shadowy form looked into the screen.

"Chills. Literal chills." Sun said shaking in anticipation.

"Hope. Of course, why didn't I think of it before..." Salem laughed at the irony. She was going to watch herself kill a god with the very thing she swore to destroy.

Using her new found power, she wrestles herself out of Zeus's grasp. Landing on her feet, she pulls out the Blades of Exile.

Swinging repeatedly, she dodges attack after attack while landing multiple hits on Dark Zeus. She kept up the pressure, hooking Zeus's hand into the ground to prevent him from attacking her, then she slashes at his chest visibly weakening the god.

"Look at her go! He can't even land a hit." Jaune said with excitement.

"Yes, it would seem she is no longer just relying on her brute strength and rage. Rather she's actually fighting with more finesse, a powerful combo if used correctly." Glynda noted.

"Making her twice as dangerous. Cause now she's using her brain fueled by rage and determination." Qrow nodded, noting to never make an enemy like that.

She swung consecutively, hitting her opponent, and finally beating it back into Zeus's body.

Seeing the weakened Zeus, Salem looks at the Blades of Exile before throwing them to the side as she charged the defenseless Zeus.

She slammed his head onto a rock, releasing the black spirit possessing it. But Salem didn't stop there, she punched her father over and over again letting her anger control her. She beat him over and over again until the screen turned red with blood.

"Yes! More! More! Damn it!" Salem yelled at the screen. Much to the horror of some of the others.

"I thinking, I'm gonna puke." Jaune gulped as he turned to the nearest bucket.

"Weak." Ruby rolled her eyes at her fellow team leader.

Finally regaining her senses, Salem steps back, when suddenly Zeus's body erupted into lightning strikes that struck into the skies creating an eternal rain.

The screen shifts towards Salem, looking over the destruction that she has caused.

"You have done well, Salem. Freed from the bondage of Olympus, mankind is now ready to hear my message." Summer appeared behind the Ghost of Sparta.

"Do people just not stay dead anymore? What the heck mom!" Ruby asked exasperated.

"Are you not happy to see me, my little rose?" Summer raised an eyebrow at her daughter.

"Mom. Salem literally went on a traumatic emotional rollercoaster, one of which starred your death. Said emotional rollercoaster, jump started her development into a less hateful person after she overcame her guilt. Kinda fucking stupid, that half that emotional trauma was for nothing cause you're alive don't ya think?" Ruby responded with a twinge of sarcasm.

"Fair enough." Summer raised her hands in surrender.

"Look around you, Summer. The world stands in ruin, what good is your message?" Salem asked in annoyance.

"Not a lot, that's for sure." Roman  said.

"Bold of her to assume, people are still alive. I mean, damn... That's worse than our plans to destroy Vale." Mercury gulped, realizing he said too much.

"What was that about Vale?" Weiss looked pointedly at him.

"Absolutely nothing, snowflake." Emerald said changing the topic.

"Go if you must. But first, I need you to give me the power from inside thebox." Summer stopped Salem.

"Yeah... About that. No. Not after I got emotional in seeing you die. Again." Salem replied sarcastically to the onscreen Summer.

"The box was empty." Salem replied defiantly, however the glow in her eyes gave away her bluff.

"That can't be true. I see it in your eyes. You used my power to kill Zeus, you still have it as we speak." Summer raised her voice.

"Don't you understand? When Zeus gathered all the evils and placed them in the box, I dreaded what might happen if it was opened again. And so I summoned the most powerful weapon in the world and placed it in the box." Summer recounted the story of how hope was placed inside.

"Let me guess, she thinks just because she summoned that power and placed it inside the box for safe keeping. It belongs to her and she deserves it." Watts said to their host.

"Pretty much, yeah." King nodded.

"You sound like you've heard it all before." Raven eyed the scientist.

"Oh, believe me. I used to hear it ever so often before we got sent here." Watts replied, subtly eyeing Cinder with disdain.

"I told you. The box was empty, Penny was sacrificed in vain." Salem continued to deny.

"Kratos should have won an Oscar for this ending." Saber whispered to King.

"I know right." King chuckled.

"Yow. You two paused the recording." Yang complained.

"Oops. Sorry bout that." Saber said resuming the recording.

"She died because of my need for vengeance." Salem turned away from Summer.

"You used my power to kill Zeus. I saw you do it. Unless... Of course!" Summer continued to insist, before realization hit her.

"Unless what?" Jaune raised a question.

"Unless, Salem had the power of hope this entire time?" Weiss said with uncertainty.

"Probably." Pyrrha and Blake agreed.

"When you opened the box. You unleashed the evils to the gods. Infected them. Changed them. Zeus himself fell prey to the dark evils, this is why he became enraged and obsessed with your death. He was consumed by the evil. Fear." Summer tried to rationalize Salem's answer.

"I thought the power I placed in the box was never released. All these years, I assumed you drew from the evils inside to destroy Ironwood. But I was wrong..." Summer finished.

"Ironwood's names been mentioned in passing a while ago. What exactly is his role in all this." Tai turned to their host.

"I wouldn't wanna spoil much since I guarantee we'll be back in this universe... Let's just say, his actions one fateful day, would mark the beginning of the end." Saber responded.

"The power you took from the box is mine. From it you gained the strength that Zeus could never destroy. A strength great enough to overcome. Fear. Locked deep inside you Salem is hope." Summer concluded to Salem.

"Which is why I wanted to destroy it... But alas, it seems its more powerful in a metaphorical sense than even I could imagine." Salem sighed.

"There's something philosophical in destroying hope. I mean, in wanting to destroy hope, aren't you also hoping you'd be strong enough to destroy it?" Jaune said out loud.

"This is a react fic, not a philosophy book, Socrates." Saber cut in, before someone initiates a debate with Jaune Socrates- I mean, Arc.

"It had remained buried. Locked by your guilt and the failures of your past. When you killed Zeus, you allowed something to awaken it. What was if Salem?" Summer faced Salem with sincerity in her eyes.

"Emotional Trauma, Physical Trauma, Betrayal, Anger, Hate, Desire. Mostly Desire and Emotional Trauma... Could be a lot of things, wanna sit down for a moment?" Salem said sarcastically.

"Man, sarcastic Salem making me feel things." Saber looked in love.

"Stop. Were professionals, its just the sass." King held down her goddess of a partner.

"All I remember is all that I have lost." Salem answered, letting go of Summer's hand as she tried to walk away.

"That is why you should give me the power. I understand its true meaning and where it belongs. I trust you to do the right thing, Salem." Summer attempted to convince her.

"You shouldn't." Salem responded picking up the Blade of Olympus from the ground.

"You owe me this, Salem." Summer demanded, her facade disappearing.

"Oh, look. Deja vu." Watts sighed, realizing he needs to listen to another 'I deserve it just because speech'.

"I owe you nothing!" Salem responded by pulling the Blade of Olympus on her.

"Yeah, mom's acting like a bit of a Raven. So like, off with her head!" Yang and Ruby shouted at the screen.

"I take offense to that." Raven glared at her daughter/s.

"Yeah. That was the point." Tai told her ex-wife.

"I made you a god, I sheltered you from the wrath of Olympus! I delivered your revenge on Zeus." Summer said indignantly.

"It is over, Summer." Salem responded with finality.

"You would dare strike me down. Again!?" Summer said with as much irritation as she could muster.

"Fuck sake, she's using the dumb yet strikingly ineffective tactic of throwing a tantrum to get what she wants." Ozpin shivered.

"Hey! That's my signature move! Get your own tantrums!" Yang mimicked waving Weiss's arms in the air.

"One time! It was one time!" Weiss pouted.

"Hey, Wuby! How do you take your coffwe?" Blake joined in mimicking Weiss.

"Hey. That's just how I apologize." Weiss huffed.

"By giving people caffeine? Well shit, snowflake piss me off more." Saber chuckled.

"My vengeance. Ends now." Salem said, facing Summer as she drew upon the power of the Blade of Olympus. The Blade brings upon a power blue light, as Salem slashed at Summer missing by a mere inch.

As the blade made its round, she takes it by the edge and drives it onto herself. Releasing the power of hope and draining the Blade of all its power.

"Madlad..." Sun stared eide eyed at the screen.

"She sacrificed herself to release hope, to the people below..." Cinder muttered to herself.

"You fool! What have you done!? That power was meant for me! They will not know what to do with it!" Summer said in a fit of rage.

"Oh, great... Its the failed attempt on fall maiden all over again." Watts groaned, followed by the other two minions. Hell, even Salem herself groaned at the reminder of Cinder's stupid little tantrum after failing to kill the fall maiden.

"You disappoint me, Spartan." Summer glowered in front of Salem as she pulled the Blade of Olympus from her torso leaving the Ghost of Sparta to bleed on the floor of Olympus.

••••••••••

"Alright so that's it! Thoughts?" Saber asked pulling the recording crystal from its slot.

"Too damn close to home." Salem answered.

"The weapons were awesome, certainly didn't make me need to look at a gun for a few hours." Ruby answered truthfully while the other murmured in agreement.

"Now let's see... What to watch... A here we go!" Saber rolled through several recording crystals.
