Kim Minji (NEWJEANS)

| unwanted presents pt.4

note: tw! psycho! stalker kmj!

it's late, y/n thinks to herself as she stood under the bus stop shed beside the empty road at almost eleven at night, there were almost no vehicles at sight, just some cars passing by every 2 minutes whenever she would close her eyes. regret, all she could feel under the pits of her stomach is regret, bubbling down as it boils and made her stomach grumble. "i should've let soobin accompany me home." y/n whispered to herself, hearing the chirps of crickets behind the bushes on the side of the road.

y/n watches as a single car passed by, the lights illuminating her delicate face as the car accelerated without her noticing. y/n sighed, grimacing at the thought of being alone in the middle of nowhere, anyone being free to put her in danger at this moment of time.

grunting in defeat, y/n scrolls on her phone to look for contacts she thinks are free at this hour, guessing that soobin might be at his apartment and is sleeping at this hour, she scrolls past his number.

hanni... y/n hesitates, because of what happened last time she couldn't decide whether she could trust this girl once again, remembering the fact that hanni locked her in a room with her stalker.

y/n scoffed.

y/n has no one to call at this point when she reached the end of the contacts, she barely had any friends and she doesn't communicate with most of her classmates, leaving her vulnerable in this types of situation. y/n wished her brother was here, but he was super far away.

then she remembered one person who can exactly save her.

kim minji.

even though morally and objective, according to the law— minji is a bad person, even if you look at her in different angles, you can say what she did are all wrong— spying on a girl, stalking and worse, sending gifts named to a person close to her victim. with her innocent-like face, her round eyes, plump lips, luscious hair and her tall stature; one might find it hard to think she's somewhat a criminal. but y/n knew better, so even if minji is dangerous, she couldn't deny that this strange obsession the girl had over her can be used in some way or the other.

so, y/n dug on her purse to look for a crumpled piece of paper, on the bottom of her purse, she comes in contact with the paper and she pulled it out. this specific paper was tucked inside one of the boxes she received not too long ago.

"guess i have no choice." in the corner of y/n's eyes, she can see a middle-aged man, not too far from her— making his way to y/n's direction. y/n's heartbeat started to race faster as the man approaches, she hates the way her fingers trembled while she dialed the phone number.

it didn't take too long for minji to answer, noticing the man taking his steps slower. "..." there were no voice on the other line but just the sound of what it seemed like the buzzing of the air conditioner. y/n spoke. "minji..? can you— pick me up here at the bus stop near the seoul plaza mall?" her voice was shaking, her fingertips were cold touching the case of her phone. y/n hesitated but there were sounds of shuffling on the other line, the sound of the key ringing and the door shutting close.

"minji? are you here?" y/n asked, looking around. the man inches a little closer much to y/n's dismay, the fear she felt around minji was no match to what she felt right now, she'd rather be beside minji than to be preyed around by an old man.

"y/n." the sound of engine starting awaken y/n from her deep thoughts, feeling impatient; she answered. "why?" the steady humming of the car engine kept y/n awake but she can feel the man get closer to here, feeling sick y/n closed her eyes.

"hey miss, it's late already. don't you wanna go home, i'll come with you." he slurred, y/n took a deep breath, still holding the phone on her hand. y/n sighed. "u-uh no, i'm alright." y/n muttered, the man laughed and inched closer. "why not? i mean, it's late and don't you need company to keep you safe, i swear i'm not gonna hurt you if you come with me."

shit.

"i said no, i'm waiting for someone. please leave me alone." y/n spat out, cringing. "y/n, stay there." y/n heard minji say from the other line, y/n took a deep breath, trying to relax her body. "okay, minji." she whispered, thinking the man could hear her. "please a little faster." she added.

the guy scoffed. "pretty sure whoever that person doesn't plan on fetching you."

the guy reached for y/n's wrist, violently pulling her causing the girl to shriek. "ouch! let go of me!" y/n screamed. as if on cue, minji's car stopped right beside them, the loud horn and the bright lights of the camera caused the man to flinch and cover his eyes. y/n took the chance to push him off and run, minji hopped off the car and told y/n to get inside before making her way to the guy who tried to stand up.

the car was heavily tinted, which was usually a bad sign but y/n knew she'd rather have opaque black covering her eyes from seeing what's happening outside, feeling her skin crawl at the memory.

minji took what it seemed like a syringe from her pockets, pulling the cap off and grabbing the man on his neck with her large hand, the man groaned and tried to get away but even before he was successful, minji had already plunged the syringe deep into his veins, pushing what it looked like a substance that can put someone to sleep.

the man, in a matter of seconds fell on the floor, face hitting the cold pavements. minji cursed under her breath and dusted herself off before making her way to the trunk of her car. y/n couldn't here anything but she can definitely feel the vibration of minji opening the trunk from inside, there was a small sharp thud (minji throwing out the syringe in the trunk), scared; y/n started knocking on the window. "minji!" y/n attempted to open the window but everything was locked— well that should be because minji is a psychopath.

minji ignored the muffled calls as she held a thick rope and a tote bag in her hands, she picked the body up and started tying the arms, hands, legs and feet, even grunting as she puts all the force into it. when everything was secured, minji held the tote bag and inserts her victim's head inside, tying the straps.

turning her head to the right, minji was met with the bushes and there was a space under those bushes where no one can see, minji peeked and saw an ant hill, infested with bugs and ants.

not caring, minji walked to the left side of her victim and pushed the body on that space with her foot, making sure the body was out of sight.

as if nothing happened, minji made her way inside the driver's seat, closing the door of the car before she sat properly and even wearing the seatbelt- which was unusual for a psychopath but normal for an perfection obsessive person. minji was about to start the car but noticed y/n pressed on the door of the car, looking at her- no seatbelt around her in sight.

"y/n. your seatbelt." minji said, her voice sounded demanding. for someone who can murder anyone in a blink of an eye, minji sure cares so much over some stupid seatbelt that wouldn't even matter to y/n if she decided to kill the girl on the passenger seat.

noticing minji's short breaths, her dilated pupils, frowned lips, creased brows and hair that's curtaining her face. y/n shook her head, sighing as she turned away. "what did you do?" she asked. minji ignored the question and leaned in, pulling the seatbelt and putting it on y/n. "getting rid of that man." y/n knew what it meant, but she would rather believe that she just shooed him away than knowing what minji actually did.

y/n was about to speak once again when her mouth opened, closed again as her eyes met minji's round ones, y/n's eyes that sparkled under the hood light and minji's that were dull and empty. their faces were only a few inches apart, y/n can feel minji's hot breath fanning over her face and she didn't know whether it was hers or minji's heartbeat thumping on her ears.

minji's eyes graces y/n lips before she whispered.

"i love you."

those words seemed sweet and innocent but y/n knew there was danger laced in every single word minji used.

minji did not wait for a response before pushing herself away and starting the car, eyes already fixated on the empty road in front of them. y/n's face felt hot, ignoring the feeling inside her chest, y/n looked away to the window.

watching them pass by buildings, stores and posts, y/n felt a twinge of comfort inside the car, the air conditioner doing its wonders, y/n wondered that even with the chances minji had, minji never tried to intoxicate her- well there she have y/n all to herself, on the car and vulnerable but even after a few minutes all y/n can feel is how tired she was the whole day, fear washing away at minji's presence.

minji's phone, seating on the cupboard rang, with her eyes still on the road minji continued to drive but she spoke. "answer the call." y/n looked at minji in disbelief then down to the phone that showed no contact i.d. just a phone number.

swiping to the right, y/n let the phone rest on the cupboard. "thanks." minji whispered.

y/n could only look away.

"delete everything that's still there, when i come back i don't want to see any traces of... everything." minji stated, assuming the other line could hear it, y/n waited for an answer but there was nothing.

"i'll talk to dad about it— don't call me again tonight." minji commanded, with the emphasis to her words. y/n hears the other line hang up, though her eyes are still on the window.

the car stops at the familiar building, y/n took the seatbelts off of her and opened the door then closing it. thinking minji would leave already y/n turned her back to the car and started walking but the door opened which made y/n turn around to see minji get off.

"where are you going?" y/n asked, watching as minji walked towards her. "with you." minji only answered, standing beside y/n who shook her head. "it's okay, i'm alright— i can walk back to my apartment." y/n said, shaking her head- her face is pale under the moonlight. she was already making a point until a yawn gets past her lips and she sighed.

"what if you fall? who's gonna catch you?" minji asked, getting closer but not touching y/n. y/n didn't know whether to be thankful for how mindful minji was with the boundaries but at the same time how she lacked understanding of it.

it didn't make sense.

they made their way inside and to the elevator, with minji pressing the buttons for her and because of the tension, y/n could feel the movement of the elevator.

the elevator stops and opens, them being greeted by an empty hallway to y/n's apartment, with a few walks they reached the door and minji opened it for her too. y/n entered and was about to close the door when minji's large hand slipped inside to stop the door from closing and through the crack of the door y/n can see minji's face, the light from the moonlight casting over her face.

"minji—!" y/n yelled, trying to push the door but with her lack of strength, she couldn't even match minji's strength. y/n's face was red, flushed cheeks and her ears were burning - minji took note of this.

"are you gonna be okay there?" minji asked, her voice showed hint of concern but her face remained the same, eyes just staring at that crack from the door. y/n lets go of the door and walked backwards, not noticing the unattended shoe laying on the floor, her foot stepped on the shoe, causing her to lose her balance and twist her ankle.

with a loud shriek, y/n falls over her butt, and she almost hit her head on the floor until minji immediately catched up to her and held her hand on the back of her head, the other hand resting on her back. y/n had her eyes tightly closed, her head turned to the other direction. minji had her knees bent, the other kneeling on the ground between y/n's legs. minji pulled the other girl close as she sat down on the floor, laying y/n's head on her shoulder and the girl under her arms could hear her fast-paced breathing.

"you're so warm." minji whispered, feeling the other girl's temperature over her clothed body. y/n sighed, resting her hands on minji's arms— giving no answer.

minji leaned to try and hear y/n's breathing— all she can hear are the steady breaths and thumping heartbeat of hers. minji pulled away slightly, tilting her head to get a goof look at y/n's face.

y/n had her head laying low, then she looked up and opened her eyes to see minji's face even under the dim lighting coming from the window. minji tried to push herself off of y/n but when she did, y/n gripped her arms, even surprising minji herself. "w-wha—"

"please stay!" there were tears forming on the corners of y/n's eyes as she begged the taller girl, minji looked down at y/n, confused. "is there—"

"i'm so thankful you saved me there! i didn't know what to do..." y/n leaned closer and even though part of minji was happy to be this close to y/n, another part of her was panicking, unable to put her hands to wherever she wanted it to be to comfort y/n. her face was burning up as y/n inched closer to her, there was no smell of alcohol nor anything out of the ordinary but... y/n was acting weird.

"... it's okay, as i said i'll be here if you need me." minji whispered, her eyes examined the girl in front of her, the gap between the two of them decreasing each seconds that pass. y/n's grip on her arms didn't falter, while minji's hand moved from her head to y/n's nape.

the two stared at each other for a while, breathing in the same air around them. there's an expression in y/n's face minji couldn't read, even as someone whose mind works in various ways than just one; minji seemed to not understand what y/n's trying to do.

minji's breathe hitched when y/n's warm hand came in contact with her cold cheek. there was a moment of silence as minji stilled at the same spot, her upper body feeling stiff at the contact. y/n leaned closer and closer until their faces were only a few centimeters apart, minji's face flushed as y/n's breath brushed her skin. "y/n..." minji whispered before she closed her eyes and in a matter of seconds a soft pair of lips touches hers, afraid she'll wake up to nothing— minji kept her eyes closed.

y/n pushed herself further, her face burning red and with her eyes closed she held minji's neck, fingers touching the exposed skin of minji's neck.

y/n tilted her head slightly, breathing through her nose. minji felt y/n lean closer, her weight being passed onto her.

y/n felt her breath cut short and pulled away with deep breath, minji opened her eyes to see y/n already leaning on her shoulder, eyes closed and strands of her hair sprawled over her face.

sounds of soft snoring, steady breathing made minji know that the woman on her arms is fast asleep. minji's face comes back to its neutral temperate, her heartbeat's starts beating the way it did before— though she can barely feel it.

all that's in minji's mind right now is the frame she's holding, the girl in her arms who is heavily asleep.

minji pulled the girl closer, arms wrapping itself in the smaller frame and keeping the girl secure, as if someone was to take her away.

y/n is just as insane as minji was.
