"what am i going to do here again?" y/n asked herself as she stood in the edge of the sea cliff wooden bridge, watching the waves get stronger each seconds that past, wind blowing violently on her face, making her wince, disturbing her hair and her uniform as she closed her eyes and raised her arms to take cover. the sky was starting to get darker, it was already past 4pm and y/n still hasn't left ever since she got out of her new school, wearing the uniform from her old school.

as the wind stops from blowing, y/n placed her arms down, her blazer fluttering softly against her body— y/n opened her eyes to see the orange sky and watches as the sunsets.

it was beautiful and it made y/n sad, upset.

afraid that her life might change as she leaves everything behind to face a new world in a new place with no one to talk to.

why is adjusting to a new life so hard? why did she have to leave everything behind?

y/n doesn't know, one day she just found herself packing up things and moving away with her parents, and she woke up in a new room, new bed, isolated province in korea to start a new life but she stayed to be the same person, with a pursuit for music as she finds herself standing in the sea bridge platform, hoping to hear a sound from far away to inspire herself to keep striving better.

yet there was nothing but just the waves and empty noises.

y/n looked down on her uniform, her ribbon moving as the wind blows gently. somehow she managed to remember the one-piece swimsuit she wore inside her uniform, hoping to get to experience the sea of the province she now lives in and find the perfect melody for her next composition.

y/n took a heavy breath, placing her hands on her ribbon as she slowly took it off, followed by her blazer, placing them on her bag, before she started unbuttoning her dress shirt, revealing half of her one-piece swimsuit, reaching for her skirt, y/n took it off along with her shoes and socks, placing them besides her bag.

y/n once again stood in the same position, bravely puffing up her chest as she took a deep breath, ready to take the jump.

though, y/n didn't notice a bike stopping a few feet from her, as she took more breaths the person in the bike got off, leaving their bike unattended in the ground.

"hey! miss stop right there!" a whole loud voice of a girl called out to y/n, y/n faced behind her not noticing the sprinting tall figure towards her.

y/n shrieked, feeling a pair of warm hands on her arms. "argh! your hands get off me!" y/n fought back, panic written on her face as she pushed the girl away.

"it's dangerous there!" the girl retorted, y/n stepped back away from the girl, her feet losing it's balance as she stepped on the edge of the bridge, hands reached for the stranger's wrist, pulling them down together in the ocean.

both of them fell in the sea, a big splash erupted as their weights sank down the water, y/n's hands still holding the girl's wrist.

the stranger reached for y/n and pulled her closer, swimming away from the waves, eventually the both of them reached the shore.

y/n pulled away from the girl as she placed her hands on the sand, trying to catch her breath from the sudden shock of falling into the water. a loud sound ringing on her ears.

"are you okay?" asked the girl who walked towards her and stretched out her hand to offer help.

y/n stared at hand extended to her and to the person, blinking like an idiot before she reached for the hand and stood up, the cold breeze of the air left y/n shivering, wrapping her arms on herself, her eyes glued to the ground.

the stranger looked to the diving shop just a few meters away from them before she faced y/n again.

"wait here please, i'll call my friend haewon." the girl said, before running around with her wet clothes.

y/n watches as she pushes through, raising her hand. "w-wait!" but the girl had already left.

shivering in cold, y/n sat at the sand, closing her eyes.

in a few minutes, two pairs of footsteps engulfed y/n's ears, but she ignored it.

"oh, is she...?" a new voice spoke, followed by the familiar one. "yeah, we accidentally fell in the water." a finger poked y/n's bare shoulder, y/n looked up to see a long haired girl beside the short haired one. "here, a towel." said the short haired girl.

now that y/n had calmed down, she didn't notice the appearance of the stranger from earlier, she had an angelic face, quite matured but she was pretty and her short hair suits her well.

while the other girl, she had a long hair an angelic face too but more on the innocent looking one.

y/n took the towel, standing up and wrapping it on herself.

"sorry for that..." she muttered, looking at the short haired girl before she sighed.

the long haired girl hums, looking at the taller girl.

"oh no! it's okay! it's my fault for disturbing you while you were... there." the short haired girl retorted, letting out a sheepish laugh.

the long haired girl, scoffs. "next time you have to be more careful jinsol, you probably scared her with your energy." y/n had assumed the long haired girl was the haewon 'jinsol' was talking about.

"sorry about that haewon, i was worried she'd jump off and drown." jinsol muttered. haewon was about to talk back but—

"i'm alright." y/n interrupted.

"thanks for worrying about me... jinsol, but i'm okay, i'd just need to get dressed again." y/n added.

jinsol nodded, muttering an agreement before looking at haewon, haewon raised her brows.

"of course... go ahead and use our place to get dressed, come." haewon gestured as she started walking.

y/n watched as haewon move, not noticing the other girl packing up her bag and clothes.

"let's go!" said by jinsol as she carried y/n bag on her hands.

y/n looked at her before letting out a small yelp. "wait, i'll carry that!" she said, reaching over her bag only for jinsol to move it far away.

"nope! i'll carry it, move along with haewon i'll follow up." jinsol smiled, y/n nodded before she started to walk towards the shop.

y/n exits the bathroom, on her uniform and finally comfortable, brushing her hair as she walked in the living room of haewon's house just behind the shop.

"hey." y/n called, only to see 7 people seated around.

"a-ah..." y/n muttered, feeling seven pair of eyes on her, standing there with flushed face.

"oh! shim y/n!" y/n averted her eyes to the left and met eyes with a light haired girl who was smiling from her seat, beside another girl who she somehow recognized.

"jinni. tone it down." said by haewon who shushed the girl, yunjin (as to what y/n remembered from her first day at school) grimaced. "sorry."

"shim y/n..?" jinsol asked, y/n shifted her gaze to jinsol.

"she's our classmate." the girl beside yunjin spoke before looking at y/n. "hi, you probably don't remember but... i'm seol yoona, call me sullyoon if you want—" she then presented her hands to yunjin. "choi yunjin, call her jinni, she likes it." yoona— sullyoon giggled, receiving a pout from jinnie. "no i don't!" jinnie retorted, looking away.

"hey! i'm lily, that's oh haewon." lily, points to the girl earlier, y/n nodded. "and that's kim jiwoo, bae jinsol... and of course jang kyujin!" lily cheered, though y/n doesn't know how to differentiate jiwoo and kyujin, she smiled.

"thanks for introducing me to everyone and for letting me get dressed here, i should take my leave now." y/n bowed, taking her bag.

lily frowned. "ah, you're not staying here?" kyujin looked at y/n. "wait, is she allowed?" she asked.

y/n shook her head. "no, my parents must be looking for me now."

jinsol stood up, taking everyone's attention.

"it's already dark outside, i'll come with you." said by jinsol, everyone were quite, jinni and sullyoon looked at each other, shrugging.

haewon, fortunately broke the ice.

"jinsol, you should come with her it's pretty dangerous out there for a newcomer, make sure to comeback as soon as possible, no silly things okay?"

jiwoo snickered as haewon finished her sentence.

jinsol looked back at haewon nodding.

"i know." jinsol looked back at y/n once again, there was an urge to say no, but haewon was right, it's pretty scary outside and it's dark.

so she nodded.

"thanks, i appreciate your company." y/n stated, smiling at jinsol.

°°°°°°°

"motorbike?" y/n asked, watching as jinsol took a helmet and wore it, before taking another helmet and walking towards y/n to put it on her. "yeah, it's faster this way, just tell me the direction of your house." jinsol answered.

y/n watched as jinsol ignited the engine, clutching her bag.

"hop in." said by jinsol, y/n nodded, sitting carefully behind jinsol, her other arm hesitant whether she'll place it on jinsol's waist or not.

but jinsol placed a hand on y/n's wrist, guiding her hand to jinsol's waist.

"hold on tight 'kay?"

y/n looked at jinsol for a while, nodding. "okay."

the scooter started to accelerate, moving past houses and blocks, y/n felt the same cold breeze of the summer wind at night, it gave her chills, holding tighter to jinsol, as she shivered.

they past from house to house, until the shore of the ocean isn't visible anymore and they got nearer and nearer in the village.

the road gets brighter as they drive past houses inside the village, y/n felt herself start to doze off, blinking her eyes until she spots their house.

"there." y/n points to a house, jinsol slows down the scooter, stopping just in front of the house, y/n hops off and with the help of jinsol, she took of the helmet, giving to jinsol.

"thanks jinsol, sorry for earlier too." y/n stated, smiling softly at jinsol who stared at her, cheeks flushed before nodding. "o-oh it's alright as i said, nice to meet you y/n." jinsol smiled back, extending her hand for a handshake.

y/n, like what she did earlier, stared at the hand and back to jinsol, before shaking it softly.

"call me bae if you feel comfortable." jinsol— bae stated, pulling away.

"alright, bae. i'll see you next time." y/n replied, her eyes sparkling under the streetlight above them, y/n started walking away, waving her hands as she entered their house.

bae sat there for a few seconds before starting the scooter and leaving, a bright smile plastered on her face.
