Seeking For You

Title: Seeking For You

Author: @Kikaraaa

Setting: AU or Modern World

Description: Sakura Haruno was the type of girl who dated guys she loved—or at least she thought she did. In reality, her relationships were either an act or she was just forced to do so. Until she realized it and just gave up. But life has always been in contrast with her

Quote: What if guys buy girls books instead of drinks?

This is my creative writing project, put a lot of work into it and just made it into a sasusaku fic, hope you like it

All I could hear were the sounds of the clattering glassware inside the formal room as I impatiently tapped my foot against the vermilion carpet in a repetitive manner. A sigh escaped my lips when my eyes grazed on my wristwatch then to the glass window.

"Miss Haruno, it's been hours." I listened to the waitress' words and she clutched the empty plate on the table once she stopped near me.

My lips curled a bit into a smile, "Lily, I told you that you can call me Sakura."

Lily returned a pleasant grin until she questioned again. "Have you tried contacting him?"

I shook my head in determination. "If he'll come, then he'll come, right?"

"What has he been doing recently?"

The waitress' question caused me to bite my lip anxiously. "He's been helping his friend, for all I know."

"Oh, the freak?" Lily took the glass with a little amount of water then placed it at the top of her tray.

I giggled at hearing the response. "Exactly."

"I'll catch up with you later, still have some work to do." Lily left with a beam. "Don't stay up too late."

Nodding approvingly, I waited for her to disappear before I took out my mobile phone with hope.

And still no reply.

After a little while, I cupped my face—depressed—until the device on my lap vibrated. My expression immediately changed from gloom to a spark of optimism. Although, I reverted back to despair when I read the message.

From: Aden

"I'm busy."

My forehead literally met the table's surface after understanding the text. Taking one last peek over the view, I roughly snatched my sling-bag. Then, placed the money above the receipt before heading off in anger.

From my peripheral vision, I could see Lily shaking her head in disappointment as I took my leave.

Walking beside the bustling road, I closed my sweater, hugging myself when the cool breeze passed by. Dozens of cars, vans and yellow cabs zoomed by the road as I, along with countless people, strolled at the city side walk beside the buildings.

A crooked smile formed on my lips when I witnessed a little boy shyly giving a present to a girl. I could see the delight on the girl's face when she received it while hugging the boy—who blushed madly.

Seeing the scenery, I unconsciously held onto the golden pendant attached to my necklace. A significant memory recalled in my mind—a teenaged boy handing out a wrapped box to a girl, and the girl wrapped her arms around the boy happily after accepting the gift.

However, I was dumped back to reality when the honks of a car alarmed me. My grin quickly curved down, releasing my grasp from the necklace, and continued to move on.

I didn't stop my tracks, and only walked faster to my destination.

Rubbing my hands, I covered my mouth and blew to warm my palms before shoving them inside my pockets. "What am I going to do?" I uttered, forcefully kicking the rock on the ground.

My gaze followed the rock that rolled to a garden across the street. Then I saw two figures standing on the grass, a man and a woman. I squinted, only to see the woman holding her thick hair at one side while the man assisted her on locking the accessory behind her neck—with a golden heart dangling from the string.

"Aden!" I shrieked as I could feel my jaw drop in bewilderment.

Aden let go of his grip, leaving the woman behind. He hastily jogged to my side, but I refused to see him.

"Saku—wait!" He called out, coming nearer.

I answered by breaking the strap of the necklace that he gave me. "We're over," I added before throwing the item and walking away.

Everyone says he's a playboy, but I just couldn't admit it to myself.

Now, where did that bring me? I was betrayed.

I thought I could trust him.

I thought I could rely on him.

I thought he could be the one.

But I guess I was just too blinded by the desperation of love to notice.

The strangest thing was, I didn't feel anything. No tears came out—nothing.

[···]

"I warned you, Sak. He's a complete playboy."

"I know, Ino. You don't have to repeat it." Answering in regret, I plumped down on my bed as I wrapped my arms around the soft pillow.

We were both inside our dormitory room. Our single beds were placed right across from each other while the entrance was located at the end of the room.

Ino closed the book she was reading and she crossed her legs to face my direction. "You know, I just realized that you've never had a proper boyfriend." She hypothesized, irking a smirk.

I snorted, "Says the one who has a loyal boyfriend for three years."

I felt a pang of pain hit my face once Ino launched her pillow towards me. "Don't make this conversation about me, this is about you!" She huffed which caused me to crack up.

I noticed that she was staring at me when I ceased my laughter. "What?"

"Did you really love him?"

"Why?" I responded in suspicion and I tossed her floral pillow back.

With her fast reflexes, she caught it in a blink of an eye as she directly stated. "Well, for starters, you aren't crying your eyes out for a heart break—like a normal girl would."

I anxiously bit my lower lip. All the guys I've dated, or romantically hung out with, were all just high school drama. The first was my laboratory partner. He was one of my friends that I consider as a brother, and I only 'dated' him so that his love would get jealous. The second, which is also the last, was Aden. It was love at first sight—or so I thought.

"Guess I never did." Those words came out of my mouth like toxic. I didn't want to accept, but it was true, because I never did feel love before. What is it, exactly?

"How did you two get together again?" Ino pressed the button on her night lamp as the light on her side slowly diminished.

Tilting my head downwards, I rubbed the nape of my neck in embarrassment. "Senior prom?"

"Of course," She scowled as she laid down on her bed. "Typical meetings."

"Is it infatuation?"

"Probably, unless you have someone else in mind." She sent a teasing wink, much to my annoyance. "Good night!"

When I looked at the novel above my desk, a glimpse of different scenes instantly flashed inside my head, all containing a familiar figure.

"You should sleep too," I heard Ino mumble in between yawns, which brought me back to my senses. "First official day at college starts tomorrow."

I removed my ponytail from my pink hair as I caressed my forehead, feeling a migraine. "Yeah, good night." Stealing one last glance from the book, I pushed it towards my backpack before I fell into deep slumber.

[···]

Why?

Why did I remember him again?

I met him once, but why does it bother me that much?

He probably doesn't recognize me anymore, but he gave me one of the most essential experiences in a girl's life—being my first crush. Unfortunately, I didn't get to thank him for what he did.

Resting my chin on the palm of my hand, I shifted my sight towards the transparent wall beside me as it view a clear scenery of the vast field. Again, I'm thinking of him.

Sighing, my fingers found its way towards the item where it all started. By just looking at the cover, I was able to recall what had happened before.

Corpses, soldiers, blood, dirt and weapons scattered the battlefield as she searched longingly for her father. Enemies blocked her path, causing her crystal orbs transform into crimson ones—she was ready to fight. Once an opponent charged right at her, she immediately jumped and mustered up all her strength to knock out the foe in one go. The other enemies still pursued in fighting her, despite her ominous aura. Gripping on her sword, she waited for the others to strike. When they were near enough, she released her sharp weapon from its sheath as she plunged it to the opponent's chest and blood splatter—

"Sakura! Are you coming or what?"

I gasped in shock and I curiously turned to the speaker. "What?"

She shot me a stern look. "You've been reading that book for hours," She emphasized, pointing to the thick book at the top of the table.

"But it was so cool—"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Dismissively, she cut me off while waving her hands. Then, she snatched my wrist, much to my surprise. "Come on, the mall's gonna close anytime soon!"

"Ino, wait—" I was able to mutter before she grabbed my book as we rushed to the halls.

All that I could hear was the deafening chatter of numerous people when we zoomed by the path in between various stores. We slowed down once we reached the next floor.

"Where are you bringing me, again?" I asked and Ino released her grasp from my arm.

"To the bookstore, I need to show you what I've been reading before the senior year starts!" She flashed her cheeky smile before we entered the huge book store.

My jaw dropped in astonishment as my eyes wandered around the endless books that were displayed inside. Aisles were separated from each other to distinguish where books belong, like from different genres and kinds of fiction. Fantasy Stories, Non-fiction, Science Fiction, Romance Novels, Textbooks and many more kinds of books were organized properly at numerous stations.

"Heaven?" Ino questioned as I gave a curt nod in response.

I was too caught by the great amount of books that Ino had to drag me to the new arrival's area.

The title cover of a book concealed my vision towards my best friend as I held the novel that she was showing me. "Anna and the French Kiss? That seems like an odd title." I commented, however Ino defended.

"I know, the title is peculiar. But—I guarantee you—there are no French kisses in that book. I don't even know why they named it like that if there was no such thing in the story."

I shrugged my shoulders once I finished reading the excerpt. "Guess I have a new book to read." I grinned widely as she cheered.

"I can't wait for you to read this!" She spoke and I could see her searching for her wallet inside her sling bag.

"No, it's okay. I can pay for myself."

She raised her warning finger at me, signaling me to shut my mouth. "I'm the one who introduced this book, so I'm paying."

"Wow, since when did you become an angel?"

Her eye twitched in irritation. "Just go buy your sci-fi book, you rascal."

Sticking my tongue out mockingly, I explored the room as I scanned for the Science-Fiction aisle, which was my favorite type of genre aside from romance. I walked slowly in between the aisle, careful not to miss the book I was looking for.

My edges of my mouth curved up and my eyes sparkled when I saw the series. "The Death Cure." I muttered in glee as if I was holding a pot of gold.

I have the other two books at home. 'Maze Runner' and 'The Scorch Trials' were given to me by my parents. However, I refused to begin reading without the last book, because I dislike reading cliffhangers. It's like a page was ripped out and you'd never find out the real ending.

I attempted to ask my parents about it, but I failed miserably. They said that I should be responsible with what I want. As a result, I only ate snacks during lunch for the rest of the month.

At least, all those hunger would be gone since I could finally buy the book.

I made my way towards the cashier while I began counting my money. In the middle of my walk, I realized that the price of the book was different from the amount that I have saved.

Groaning in defeat, I stomped back and shoved the book to its original place. I looked at my money then to the price tag. "I'm five dollars short." My shoulders slumped as I decided to find Ino instead.

I looked from the upper ground, but Ino seemed to be nowhere in sight. I passed by the cashier, she wasn't there. I checked the Romance zone, she wasn't there either. I even checked the exit—no blonde.

I sent her a text, indicating on where she was and decided to stay put at the exit to wait for her. I strolled by the Science-Fiction area, but I didn't bother to check again. It might just deepen my bad luck.

"Miss, you forgot something!"

I rotated back to see the cashier woman calling my attention.

"Pardon?" I replied, placing my hands inside the pockets of my navy blue sweater.

"This is for you." She extended her arm with 'The Death Cure' book on the top of her palm.

My eyebrows furrowed in misperception. "I'm sorry, but I didn't buy that book."

"Don't worry," She answered with an adoring grin. "That nice boy over there bought it for you."

"What?" I was able to mumble as I peeked over my shoulder to see a boy, possibly around my age, wearing big rounds of glasses.

He sent me a smile, or was it my imagination? Then, he slightly saluted before he calmly walked away.

"Wait!" I unconsciously yelled before I grabbed the book from the cashier's hands and rushed off to follow his trail.

He bought me a book—an expensive book and I didn't even paid him half the price.

Hastily looking from my left to right, I searched for a familiar figure. Once I did, I fastened my speed to catch his pace.

"Hey, stop!" I frantically shouted. I noticed that the volume of my voice was too loud since some people stared at me with judging looks on their faces.

The guy a while ago paused when he saw me and I was able to catch up.

Panting, I began. "T-This is yours." By this, I was able to study his features. He was indeed wearing glasses and his dark hair covered with a cap. A typical high school boy.

"That's not mine, I already have my copy at home." He answered and question marks started to float inside my head.

"But the lady told me you bought this—"

"That's for you." He smiled as he pushed the book lightly towards my direction, indicating that I should keep it.

I could feel my heart beating rapidly, it was the first time that a boy would do something nice to me like this. Boys would usually look at me as if I was a ghost—an invisible person to their eyes. I don't even know any guy in my school that acts like a gentleman, because they don't really care about girls.

Still, I kept my cool and continued to be logical. "Why? I don't even know you." I simply stated, but his grin just grew wider.

"It's just a book, why don't you keep it, it is what you want right?"

"Yeah, but it's expensive and—"

I tried to explain, though he cut me off. "Just keep it, okay?"

"I won't until you tell me why you gave it." I folded my arms against my chest, challenging him as his mindset drop into confusion.

"Is it bad to give a girl a book?" He countered.

"Maybe, if the girl is a stranger. Plus, guys don't normally buy girls a book."

"Geez, are you really that stubborn?" He cocked an eyebrow to which I smugly nodded as response.

He grudgingly scratched the back of his head before speaking. "I saw you looking at that book and you returned it. I couldn't let a soon-to-be-fan of an awesome story just leave because of that."

Hearing his explanation, I heaved a sigh of defeat. "Fine," I answered as I shuffle the things inside my bag to get my savings. "But at least accept this—"

But my words were stuck in my throat.

Because there was no one in front of me. He was gone—nowhere to be found.

Clutching the precious book tightly, I glanced at the present from a person I don't even know a single thing about.

I couldn't help but feel a foreign feeling rise from my veins. Surprise? Guilt? Or was it just my heart beating fast? Pinching the bridge of my nose, I attempted to shake off the strange emotion.

Although, I should have at least thank him. And a while ago I had enough pride to ponder him with questions than to thank him. Where did my manners go?

Complete regret was an inevitable feeling for me this moment.

"Sakura, there you are! I've been looking everywhere for you!" I could hear Ino's piercing hollers from afar.

Although, I stared at the spot where the guy left before I grinned in joy.

And I swore that it was the last time I saw him.

Until at this point of time, I never had the chance to see him.

Where is he? What is he doing now? Does he even remember using his money for me?

I guess I just ignored the memory of him at the time I was looking for someone else. I still couldn't remove that peculiar emotion whenever I would reminisce him. It was the type of feeling I was looking for once I started dating Aden. I admit that I expected too much, and as a result, I forced myself to feel that sensation from my ex. I suppose I only felt that with him—which is why I couldn't just slip him out of my thoughts in a blink of an eye.

I glanced at the wall clock at the other side of the room. It was seven in the morning. Scanning my surroundings, I noticed that half of the room was filled with people. I didn't bother to socialize, so I remained to sit at the last row.

With the sight of the professor coming in, I kept the book that reminded me of the past and moved on as I gripped on my laptop.

A couple of minutes had went by and I was truthfully bored since the speaker was only blabbing about the introduction of the course.

Since the professor's lecture wasn't really essential as of now, I minimized my Word Document for note-taking and accessed my folder filled with movies. I randomly chose a movie with subtitles and played it without the audio.

The movie I picked was 'White Chicks' so that at least I may earn thrill from a comedy film.

I internally laughed at the part wherein the two men, who were the protagonists, had transformed themselves to be young teenage girls and surprisingly encountered their boss.

"You watching too?"

I slightly jumped by the sudden action as my fingers found their way to activate the Alt + Tab as my escape. "What?" I murmured quietly and I detected if the professor would give any signs of notice towards my reaction. Shifting to my right direction, I flickered a questioning look to my seatmate.

In return, he tilted his screen a little which presented a scene in the midst of a battle. Diverse characters appeared, then I realized that the cast were the avengers. He was watching as well, guess I wasn't the only one.

"Age of Ultron?" I asked with a beam, with the nice pick of movie.

"Yup," He nodded repeatedly as he peeped at my laptop. "Let me guess, White Chicks?"

I spared him a glance while I examined his physical appearance. His ebony hair was spiky as it was curved up at the end, resulting it to be a little messy while his thin lips twisted into a smug grin.

"One and only." Just then, another hilarious part in the movie came up, causing the person next to me to crack up.

"Shut it," I hushed as I whacked him at his shoulder. "Be quiet, or else we'll get caught!"

"Please," He excused as his laugh died down. "You're in college, not in high school. Professors don't actually care."

To satisfy that theory, I inspected my environment and he was correct. The professor does not care, some students are older than the speaker and others are even laughing at the front row.

"So, what kind of movies do you watch?" He inquired, causing me to cock an eyebrow at him in return.

I shrugged since many genres of movies came into my mind. "Many to mention, you?"

"Action, Adventure, Comedy," He smiled brightly in contemplation. "That kind of stuff."

"You don't like gory movies?" I blurted abruptly, to which I covered my mouth afterwards. That was quick and too private for my liking.

I saw his eyebrows lift a little. With that, I could feel heat surge my cheeks. Yup, first day of college and I would already destroy my reputation to a possible acquaintance. Way to go, Sakura.

However, that query surprisingly brought him to laughter. "I can watch, but I'm not a fan."

My eyes widen a bit. "You don't get frightened or like scarred?" Like the opposite of me?

He looked down at his shoes as his grin faded in reminiscence. "No."

"Loser." I sneered, rolling my eyes playfully at his rejection. I believe that all boys get terrified at some point—thanks to my father.

"What, I bet you can't even stay tuned until the end of the movie." He challenged, too loud from my perspective so that earned him another smack. "Have you even watched a bloody movie?" He tested while caressing his shoulder.

I gulped, "I'd rather read than watch."

"And you call me the loser."

"I'm not a loser."

"Then let's watch a gory movie to prove that hypothesis." He inclined, but base from his response, I doubt that he would last the first action in the movie.

"Sorry, I don't hang out with strangers." I triumphantly declined as I could see him sighing from the corner of my eye.

"You're hopeless."

His response triggered for me smile, knowing that the conversation is over.

But to my disbelief, I saw that he stretched his arm and held out his hand, his teasing smirk dominating his features. "I'm Uchiha Sasuke, and you are?"

I was taken aback by his sudden behavior. Nonetheless, I couldn't help but at least chuckle at his welcoming gesture. "Sakura Haruno." I softly answered, then I accepted his formal handshake.

"Like the cherry blossom?"

I scoffed at his joke once I retracted my hand. "Why, are you gonna make a nickname?"

Gazing above, he thought for a while, but soon he shook his head. "Nah, it's already beautiful as it is."

"You're joking again, aren't you?"

He sniggered, ignoring my remark. "So, is the movie challenge still on?" He questioned as a disturbing scene flashed in my brain.

"You're gonna make me sick."

[···]

Breathing heavily, I tightened my grip on the pillow I was squeezing. "Oh my—he's gonna get caught!"

"No, he won't. I've watched this movie a bunch of times." Sasuke said carelessly, laying down at my bed while we watch.

I spanked him by his shoulder. "Thanks for spoiling, idiot." Glaring at him, I switched my gaze towards the screen of his laptop as I crossed my legs.

Indeed, the character had got away from the police.

"All right, I'll see you two love birds later." Ino joked mischievously while she reached the exit of our dormitory.

"We are not dating!" We simultaneously snapped.

I could feel my cheeks getting warmer by realization so I had to avoid their stares for them not to notice. I knew that Ino saw it, because her laughter dominated inside the room.

"Sure, whatever. Bye guys!" She managed to say before she left in exhilaration.

We were currently staying at my dorm, waiting for my parents to pick me up for the semestral break. Ino departed which is why I was left alone with Sasuke. His house was just an hour away from the university so he can easily go there whenever he wants—and I envy him for that.

With much time, we both agreed to watch a movie. It has been our tradition since who knows when. We would watch movies together every month or once in two to three weeks. It sort of became a habit as well.

"Ino left the door open." Sasuke told as I diverted my sight to satisfy his inquiry.

"Then close it." I answered, focusing intently on the film playing in front of me.

He didn't move, he just relaxed at my bed. Jerk. "Why me?"

"You're a guy."

"But it's your room."

The door was a bit far from the bed due to the desks and cabinets which is why it seems none of us would want to close it. I'm lazy as well and I'm not leaving my blanket with the cold temperature in the area.

"My room, my rules, and I say close the door."

"I'm the guest here." He stuck his tongue out mischievously.

Shooting him a harsh look, I scoffed in arrogance. "That doesn't change anything."

"Same reason why you have legs and arms, use them." He countered and I sighed in defeat.

There was no end to this game.

I reluctantly got up from my bed, taking off the soft blanket as I could feel the chilly atmosphere.

"So much for being a gentleman." I commented, closing the door. "How did you became my friend again?"

"You don't remember? I'm hurt." He placed his hand at the top of his chest as if he was shot.

I playfully shook my head. "Nope."

"Want me to tell you?"

"Please do." I responded as I sat down next to him, suppressing my laughter.

He pressed the space bar to pause the movie on his laptop. "Do you remember watching a gory movie?"

"You mean, the time you barfed?"

"The time you cussed? Yup, that's it."

Just then, realization blew me off. "You owe me a book!"

He groaned in sorrow, sulking while I laugh hysterically. All I recall was that we had a challenge to watch a gory movie which was 'Troy.' Sasuke nearly vomited when he saw the character's belly was slashed as his guts splattered. It was indeed disturbing.

Fortunately for me, I won the bet and I told him that he needs to buy me a book. But we always end up forgetting.

"Buy me a book when we get back from the vacation."

"Why not now?" Suggesting, he locked his laptop and began to stand up.

"Because my parents—"

"—aren't here until sunset. You've been trapped inside the campus since day one, loosen up a bit." He encouraged by holding out his hand.

I bit my lip as I sunk in my thoughts. The first semester is over and the mall is just a few minute-walk away. So, I wasn't breaking any regulations, technically.

"Fine."

With that bright smile emerging from his cheerful attitude, he promptly grabbed my wrist before pulling me up and heading out.

It made me happy when I saw his joyful grin, and the fact that I'm reading a new book without spending a penny.

"What book are you gonna buy me?" I questioned once we got out of the university's premises.

"I don't know, what do you want to read?" That demand brought me to various books.

What do I want to read for this season?

"Romance?"

"I've read tons, thanks to Ino." I told him as countless genres roamed around inside my head.

"What about gor—"

"Fantasy!" I declared, causing him to chuckle.

"I suppose you want to get out of reality?"

"Exactly." I approved with a smile, thinking of possible scenes involving unrealistic magic, extraordinary powers, endless spells and severe battles.

He flashed me a hurt expression while we walk. "Does that mean you don't want to hang out with me? Ouch."

"I was talking about—"

"I know, I was just kidding."

I stayed still once he patted my head. I attempted to do the same with him, however I needed to tip-toe for me to tap the top of his head which made him chuckle to my dismay.

"Sucks to be small." I could see his smirk from the corner of my eye.

Blood rushed towards my cheeks. "I'm not small, you're just tall!" That was all I managed to say since my face was technically boiling as I fastened my pace to the mall.

He laughed again, resulting for my face to burn even more. It wasn't my fault I was born like this.

"At least I'm there whenever you need to reach something." He winked mischievously as I rolled my eyes coolly.

"Sure, whatever you say."

"Remember in gym class? You couldn't get the ball that was stuck at the ring so I had to drop by the court to avoid you being humiliated, as what you said."

"Oh yeah," I rubbed the nape of my neck to prevent from blushing in embarrassment. "Thanks for that."

"You know that I always came to save you pride." He recognized as I could see the mall from where we are. "Like the other time during your writing class—was it? No...wait, it was your accounting class! You had this big test a few weeks ago and I had to help you memorize all of the transactions and accounts the whole morning for you to pass."

I smiled smugly since I was astonished that he even remembered that time. "Hey, don't forget the time that you forget to print your first project and I even drained my black ink just so that you could pass your work."

"I got it," He snapped his finger with a wicked smirk plastered on his face. This is not good. "Someone had her red alert days. Then during supper, her light-colored pants somehow got marked by red spots which is why a handsome and kind man had to give up his jacket so that—"

"All right, all right!" I surrendered and cracked up. "You win."

He grinned and patted my head once again. "Don't worry, I'll always have your back, midget."

In reaction, punched his shoulder lightly as I stormed off to act as if I was mad. It ended up on a race to the destination though.

I felt happiness, anger, surprise—many emotions when I'm around Sasuke. He makes me feel complete, like I could relate to him no matter how personal the subject might be. He was the best friend I've been looking for (other than Ino) and I did not have any regrets on opening my laptop to watch a film.

Thankfully, the red light stopped on him which is why I gained much time to run towards the location. We've reached the entrance of the mall when he caught up to me.

"Didn't you hear me shouting?" He asked, panting once we walked inside.

"I didn't," I took a breath before adding. "I was too caught up in the game."

"I was asking if you would like Percy Jackson, for the book I'm paying."

"Why?"

"So that you would remember me because of no gory scenes." He retorted, confirming my question as my laughter erupted. "But would you read it?"

"I was actually planning on reading it before, guess I forgot about it."

"It's decided then, come on!" He shouted in delight, clutching my hand as we depart to the bookstore.

I giggled inwardly and kept my hasty beating heart to myself.

He released his clasp from my hand, even if I didn't want to. Gaining back my senses, I charged towards the new arrivals section. "Go find the book, be right back!"

I caught him raise a thumbs up and I checked the new books out. I notices the books, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, P.S. I Still Love You, The Beginning of Everything, Isla and her Happily Ever After, Fangirl, Made You Up, and many more romance novels but I read most of them because of Ino. I read all of the attracting summaries from the new arrivals table, but nothing seemed to catch my attention. It was all die-hard romance books, in which I wasn't in the mood for.

There weren't any new interesting books in the collection so I settled in finding Sasuke.

Pouting, I returned the last book on its place before I went back to our original spot. I didn't see him there so I walked towards the fantasy aisle. However, there was no one there when I arrived. I saw the Percy Jackson series at the top which means he should've bought that by now.

The bookstore wasn't exactly big, so you can easily see if there's a living soul around the area by tip-toeing and there's no one except for the cashier man. Does this mean he left?

I shoved my hand towards my jean's pocket and I realized that I left my phone at my room because we practically left in a hurry. Grumbling, I decided to leave the store since I don't have much many with me to spend a book.

Just as I stepped out of the area, I heard someone requested for my attention. I turned to the stranger. "I'm sorry?"

"I said, you left this." He pointed his finger towards a certain book at his desk.

"You must be mistaken, sir. I don't even have money to buy that." I spoke.

As I got nearer, I realized that it was the first book of the Percy Jackson series.

The Lightning Thief.

"That's taken care of."

"But I didn—" I stopped.

I thought that it was the last time, but I guess it wasn't.

Sasuke came inside the store as he walked right in front of me before his lips curved up in satisfaction—smirking. "Now, do you remember how we met?"
