Before the boy could respond, he was immediately cut off by another voice, catching the attention of the young princess.

❝Junichi! What are you doing?❞ A panicked voice as a small figure rushed over to the fallen tray. The boy hastily picked it up before holding the other boy's head as to bow down, apologizing ❝Please forgive him, your highness! He's currently still training to work here, he didn't know you will be visiting the town today!❞

The girl waved a hand in dismissal ❝Ah, it's alright. I must have scare the poor little one when I entered your bakery, Zunachii❞ She laughed lightly, seemingly to calm down the boy a little bit.

❝I wanted to buy some breads and your special strawberry shortcakes before I return to the palace. Your shop have always being the best bakery for me❞ She said, smiling at the white haired boy. She hoped it's would somehow calm him down around her presence but at that sight of her smile, his eyes widened before his cheeks become the same color as a strawberry.

Looking away with a frown, he immediately hid behind the older boy with blonde hair. She raise a brow at this, confused by his odd behavior. She honestly couldn't understand if he just didn't like her around or if he's just being shy.

❝I'm relieved...it's great to see you around here, your highness❞ The boy with the blonde hair laughted, ruffling the younger boy's hair ❝Everyone is happier ever since you invited us to the ball in the palace to celebrate your birthday❞

She couldn't be more content than at that moment.

Hearing the words from one of her people, she feel so happy that she might as well end up crying.

❝Oh but I'm sure you're not here to chat at the moment. Why don't you pick out some breads? It's will be free for you since it's your big day!❞ The blonde boy lightly pushed the boy to go in front of the princess ❝Jun, come on you have to stop being so unsocial!❞ He chuckles, patting his tense shoulder to calm him down.

Almost tripping himself over, the boy's cheeks flushed deeper, as if it's wasn't red enough as it is. At this point, the color of his hair can't even be seen well due to his flustered face.

❝Then... I would like two croissants and two cinnamon rolls... oh! Please separate the bag for each. One for me and one for Mikachii, if I may add some chocolate chips cookies as well?❞ As she said this, Mika looked like he wanted to decline. However, the flustered boy nodded without a word as he moved to pick up the orders as she said, he just decided not to say anything.

❝They have muffins here, too❞ Mika whispered, confused by the sudden change of her orders ❝I thought you would order two or three at least❞

Reina hummed softly, placing a finger on her lips ❝Yeah but I'm feeling like spoiling you today since you were being so adorable this morning❞ she smiled cheekily when she saw how his cheeks flushed at her words ❝So be ready because I'm going all out with my plan for you❞

Before coming down here, in order to sneak into the town. He was always the one who greeted her first in the morning whether it's an important day or not. When he was giving the opportunity, Mika immediately latched onto her like a koala. somehow, he doesn’t notice this at all as he was taller than her. Once they were done, he pushed himself away as he smiles ❝Did I win again?❞

She chuckles at this ❝Yes, you're the first person to greet me today❞ She said, smiling which cause the male to feel a sense of proudness at his achievements as he sidestepped to avoid her, walking straight up to her wardrobe.

She playfully sighed, letting her hands fall to her sides ❝I was kinda expecting some kind of cute reactions❞ She laughed lightly as she sat down on her bed.

❝My apologizes but you must be quick if you want to go outside before your brother come to check on you❞ He said, opening her wardrobe and looking through the contents before pulling out one from the wardrobe that caught his eyes.

❝Princess?❞ He called as she blinked in surprise for a second, turning her head towards the male. She found him placing a dress beside her on the bed. It was a white dress that she wasn't even familiar with ❝Huh? I don't remember having this in my wardrobe...❞

Her attention immediately turned to the male ❝Don't tell me-❞ Her eyes widened as she quickly jumped off her bed, heading toward him in a rush ❝Did you hurt yourself again?! Oh god, didn't I tell you that you didn't have to-❞

❝Princess, please calm down for a minute!❞ He cut her off by grabbing onto her shoulders ❝Don't worry, Teach helped me sewing it... even though I didn't want him to...❞ He whispered the last few words as the girl sighed in relief, knowing he wasn't harm in any other ways.

❝Then... May I ask you just for one thing? It's my birthday after all❞ She titled her head, looking at the male as he went over toward her vanity, searching for jewelries to match with her outfit.

❝Of course. It's would be an honor❞ He said, lifting a golden necklace with pearls and a pair of gold diamond drop earrings before laying them down on the vanity table.

❝I want you to be free❞ She said, gazing at the male's bright mismatched eyes through the vanity mirror ❝I want you to be honest with me❞ She looked at him with a serious expression ❝I missed the old days when we were kids, you used to call me by my name so will you accept my selfish little request, Mikachii?❞

With the tone of her voice, it was evident that she was pressing him to say yes. It wasn't a request... well, not with how she said it that way. She was asking a question that he has no other choice but to agree with it. It wasn't a move that she was proud of but it's only necessary for him. If this continues, he will never be truly happy. He was far too dependent on serving her and taking her orders without a doubt. She just want him to be free, to be honest with himself more.

❝Be honest...❞ He softly muttered to himself ❝Then...!❞ He cleared his throat, averting his gaze from the mirror ❝Then... on your birthday❞ Mika hesitated, pink tinting his pale cheeks ❝Will you let me celebrate it with you including tonight's ball, Reichan?❞

Oh no he's so adorable.

She laughed, knowing that he will accept it in the first place, she still feel glad that he's saying his thoughts out loud more from now on.

❝Of course! I've been meaning to find the perfect time to ask you❞ She sighed, smiling as she raised a curious brow at the male ❝Is there anything else you want to say? We still have time for another confession before my brother come here❞ She pressed on with a playful snicker.

He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck ❝You seem to be having fun with teasing me❞ he sighed ❝Well since I've been given the permission to share my thoughts❞ He hummed ❝In all honestly, I really like doing your requests not because it's my duty to do so but because I want to❞ At that moment, they looked at each other in the eyes.

❝As your... best friend❞ He murmured almost inaudible.

Why am I weak to cute things. So cute.

For someone who always told her that they were friends since childhood, he sure is acting bashful about it now. Well, he's still getting used to it. After all, both of them aren't children anymore but young adults.

Grabbing his hand, she exclaimed ❝As much as I want to tease you about it but we must be quick before my brother come, yes?❞
