Lonely Dance [Shattered x Blue]

So uh, I usually don't do authors notes before a story but uh, a couple of things first - they are human in this. Ink is Dream's evil sidekick thing so. Dream is a flirty, manipulative bastard. And this Dream is Shattered!Dream except I fucked up his personality. It's not accurate to his personality at all (I think.)

Oh, and Blue is lonely as fUcK and maybe having a crisis I'm not sure.

Uh. Yeet. Enjoy.

Blue sighed as he stood by the food table, putting far too much food onto his plate.

He wasn't going to eat three bread rolls, five eclairs, and two small fruity sweets that he couldn't identify.

Then why the hell was he getting so much food?

Blue wasn't sure himself. He doesn't even know why he was there, at some masquerade party that he was hosting.

Blue had snuck in, not like anyone noticed, and decided to stay. He had a tuxedo with his navy blue cape flowing behind him.

He also wore a mask that practically covered his whole face. It was needed as most of the people here wanted to kill him.

This was Dream's party. Dream was celebrating a victory. Blue didn't know what it was, and frankly, he didn't care.

Blue sighed. He missed Dream. The old Dream. His Dream. Not this evil, sadistic, bastard.

With another heavy sigh, Blue brought a bread roll to his mouth and bit down.

Blue looked down at his plate full of food, he wasn't that hungry anyway.

He continued to eat his bread roll, lost in thought as other guests began dancing with one another.

He probably looked really lonely. He really didn't care. Ever since Dream and Ink left him, he's been lonely.

Maybe Dream was right when he told him that his loneliness was eating him alive.

Blue shook his head, he wouldn't give up. He never would. The Multiverse needed someone to believe in.

It used to be Ink, Dream, and Blue; but now... now it was just him. Just him to protect the AUs and keep hope alive.

It was always just him.

—🖤💛—💙—💛🖤—

Dream took another sip of his drink like all of his guests danced to the music.

His mask was yellow and black, heavily decorated with gems and feathers. His suit jacket was sliding off his shoulders, but he really didn't care.

He glanced around, looking at everyone. His golden eyes finally landed on a figure by the food table.

His eyes widened as he looked at the person longer. Fluffy, brown hair that went down to his shoulders, a lovely, wonderfully made navy blue cape, and underneath his large mask, Dream could make out grayish-Blue eyes.

"Oh my god. You sneaky little shit..." Dream smirked. Taking another sip of his drink he walked over to Ink, who was in charge of music for the party and set the glass down.

"Dude you can't just-" Ink started, but Dream cut him off.

Dream looked at Ink, who's light blonde hair contrasted with his tan skin. Dream leaned over and looked at Ink's computer, the song switched to one that was five minutes long.

"Ink, after the next song, play a slow dance."

"Don't you think it's a little early to have a-"

"Thanks, Ink." Dream hummed, already a couple of meters away.

"Wh-! Dude, I can't have liquids around- hhh. Fine. Fine. Fine. Whatever..." Ink downed Dream's drink, setting the glass down next to him.

"Slow dance it is then..." Ink mumbled, setting a slow dance for the next song.

Blue bit down into his second eclair, he had had all three bread rolls, he was stunned at how he ate so much.

He was still standing by the food table, god he probably looked so lonely.

To be frank, he was.

"Hello there~" a smooth voice purred in his ear. Blue flinched, he immediately identified who it was without having to turn around.

Dream.

Blue's head started screaming at him to run, run and get far away from Dream.

But he didn't, that would instantly blow his cover and prove to Dream that he was scared of him. Which he isn't.

Did Dream even know it was him?

Blue would have to assume so.

"Hello, Dream." Blue blurted, turning around to face him.

"What are you doing here all alone love? No friends to hang out with?"

"I have friends." Blue instantly hissed out.

Dream smirked.

No, you don't.

"Why are you all alone love? I'm surprised that no one has talked to you."

"Surprised?"

"Well." Dream ran the back of his hand down Blue's cheek. "You're surprisingly adorable."

Blue flinched, having Dream this close scared him. He didn't want Dream this close.

Right?

His mind was a well off screaming voices. Telling him to run. Telling him to fight. Telling him to scream. Telling him to get Dream's handoff.

Telling him he wanted more.

"Awe, has no one ever told you that before?" Blue felt his face heating up, but he wouldn't dare let Dream know that he was flustered.

"No, no one has," Blue commented dismissively, pushing Dream's hand off of his face.

"Oh, that's a shame..." Dream started but paused as the music changed.

Blue's eyes widened.

A slow dance.

"Would you like to take your little "lonely dance" out to the dance floor with me?" Dream finished hand out with a smug smirk on his face.

Blue felt his heartbeat right out his chest, he was almost certain that Dream could see it.

Blue tried to level his breathing, he was feeling so much that he wasn't sure how to react.

"Of course," Blue muttered, taking Dream's hand.

Dream smiled and led the masked man to the center of the dancing guests. He got some glances but no one said anything; I mean, he was going to dance with someone person that didn't really exist.

Dream grabbed Blue's hand, placing his other hand on Blue's side.

"I hope you don't mind me leading, do you?"

"It's fine..." Blue mumbled again, placing his empty hand on Dream's shoulder.

"How lovely." Dream hummed.

The two men danced the night away, Dream's eyes never leaving Blue.

Blue was... all over the place. He was nervous, scared, having a good time, or indifferent. He wasn't even sure what he was feeling anymore.

He was being told far too many things.

Stay away from him!

Get closer to him!

Love him!

Hate him!

Blue tried his best to ignore all the thoughts and feelings, he had to get out of this unscathed.

But, while Blue was lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice and Dream was pulling him closer, ever so slightly.

He didn't notice the lack of space between them until there was no space. Blue was fairly tall, but Dream was a couple of inches taller, making it so that Blue's face was practically buried into Dream's upper torso and neck.

Being this close made Blue realize things he didn't realize before. Like how Dream's caramel skin when so well with his golden eyes, or how his black hair was just short enough to perfectly show off his face.

Oh.

Oh shit.

Blue immediately looked down, trying to gather his thoughts. Dream could probably tell. Hell, Dream probably knew what was going on in his head.

"Is there a problem?" Dream hummed, leaning down slightly to speak into Blue's ear.

"I think you already know that." Blue hissed, glaring into Dream's eyes.

"You're so smart, you know that Blue?"

Blue flinched at his name being spoken, he took a quick glance around but no one seemed to notice.

"Oh my god," Dream laughed. "What are you so afraid of?"

"Oh, I don't know," Blue growled. "Maybe it's the fact that everyone in his room wants to skin me alive."

"No... that's not it." Dream cooed, Blue's heart started to beat faster than it ever had before.

"I think," Dream stopped moving, taking his hand out of Blue's. "I think that you're scared of me."

"What?! I'm not," Blue stopped to a halt as Dream's hand made its way through his hair and around his ear.

"You're scared that you're madly in love with me." Dream cooed, running his hand down Blue's cheek. Blue froze.

"Get away from me." Blue hissed quietly. He tried to take a step back, but Dream's hand had made its away around his waist, keeping him close.

"Why? You love me Blue, why run from it?"

"Get away!" Blue almost shouted, making everyone in the room turn heads. Ink, who is a master at perfect timing, paused the music and played a short record scratch sound.

Blue began to breathe heavily, scared out of his mind. Dream had let go of him, letting him take a couple of steps back.

Blue turned around and booked it, making a mad dash toward the back door, which led to the rest of the castle.

Dream watched as Blue got out of view. The guests started mumbling to themselves, who would run away from Dream?

All the eyes turned on him.

"He's an old friend of mine, don't worry about it. He's just a little shell shocked at the moment."

Ink turned back on the music and the guests went back to what they were doing, though Dream's response was a little plain.

Dream walked over to Ink, who had a very confused look on his face.

"Dream, who and what was that?"

"That my friend was Blue."

"Blue? Like, good guy Blue?"

"Good guy Blue."

"What'd you do to spook him so much? And why was he even here?"

"Well, he's probably having a crisis."

"SNRK- WhaT?"

"Well, for one, he's madly in love me, and can't comprehend that's he's in love with someone slightly mortally bad."

"So it's like, a fight between his head and his heart?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that."

"But why was he here?"

"I have no idea."

"That's helpful. But uh Dream?"

"Hm? Yes?"

"You still want to break Blue right?"

"Of course."

"How did that help?"

"Well, now he's lonely and having a slight freak out, which makes him more susceptible to me and my aura."

"Oooh, that's smart."

"I know."

Dream smiled maliciously, clearly thinking in that evil brain of his.

"What are you gonna do about it, Boss?"

"Wait."

"Wait?"

"I'm going to wait for him to come crawling back to me."

—🖤💛—💙—💛🖤—

Blue made his way out of Dream's castle and down into the universe below. He was constantly looking behind him to make sure no one was following him.

He stopped and leaned against a building for support, his heart was beating out of his chest.

He pushed his mask up, wiping the sweat off of his forehead.

He fumbled with his phone and dialed in a number, his hand shaking.

"What's up?"

"Error I'm having a crisis I need you to pick me up."

"... what?"

"I'm having a crisis."

"I heard, I'm coming to get you. Stay where you are."

The line went dead as Blue slipped his phone back into his pocket.

"Hey Blue. You d0ing okay?" Error asked as he stepped out of the portal to the Anti-void. He was clearly not expecting Blue to call him as his dreadlocks weren't even put in his signature style, a ponytail.

"No. Not really." His voice cracked, clearly trying to avoid making a scene.

"Well, why d•n't you come on over so you can take your mind off it." Error suggested, giving him a small smile. His glitchy voice shining through on occasion.

"Yeah, I'd like that. Thanks."

"Come on in."

Blue stepped into the portal, entering the Anti-void, Error's home.

Error stated up at Dream's castle for a couple of moments before following Blue and closing the portal behind him.

"S0 um, I'll go g5t you some more comfortable clothes..."

"Thanks, Error."

"Of cour$e."

Error opened a portal to a random AU and grabbed a grey shirt and blue sweatpants from a store. He handed them to Blue who took and smiled a little.

"So, uh, I'|| go get you some f00d while you change."

Blue nodded, Error turned around and went into a universe that took place on the surface. He entered a shop and grabbed two chocolate bars and some crackers, and left without paying.

Error entered to see Blue sitting down on one of his beanbags, his fancy clothes in a small pile next to him.

Error sat down next to him and gave him a chocolate bar.

"Sooo, Blu5. Wh@t happened exactly?"

"I don't really want to talk about it, I'm trying to comprehend it myself..."

"Th@t's fine...d0 you wanna watch some+hing?"

"Mhm..."

"Alr^ght."

Error picked up the remote and turned on a show that he knew Blue would like.

Don't worry buddy, I'm going to find out what happened and help you.

—🖤💛—💙—💛🖤—

It had been a couple of days after Blue called Error. He was more than concerned about Blue, he was still very quiet and distant.

Error walked around the empty Snowdin of a timeline, destroying things for the sole goal of getting Ink's attention.

He needed to know what happened with Blue. Blue cares about him and Error feels the need to show him that he cares too.

"€0me out y•u col0rful b@stard... I just wan# to h@ve a l|ttle c4at." Error hissed underneath his breath, yanking down a tree with his strings.

"Error, are you trying to get my attention? Are you that desperate?" An annoying voice teased from behind him.

Error spun around, glaring right at the inky bastard.

"Lik+ I'd d@te y0u. I n33d t0 kn0^ wh•t ha99ened t0 Blue." Error was pissed, his glitchy voice was shining out more than usual.

"Nothing happened to Blue, Error." A smooth voice told him as a figure stepped beside Ink.

"Dre*m...y0u d^d somet8ing, I kn0w yo• did!" Error hissed.

"I just told him the truth. He's in love with me but his moral compass won't let him. I didn't do anything.

"Y0u b|t€h."

"Ah well, what does it matter? His mind his going to break any time soon and he'll come crawling back to me."

"N0, n0, n0, n0, n0¡ Blue w0uld, Blue wou|d ne^#r! He woul€ neve< su£mit him•lf +o y0u!¡"

"Oh but Error, he already has." Dream hummed, a smirk stretching across his face.

"Y0u bi+€h!¡ I'm gO|NG +0 KI|L!¡"

But Error didn't get to finish his sentence. Errors filled his eyes and he stopped moving, his body spazzing out.

"He crashed..." Ink mumbled. "Well! Can I kill him Dream?"

"I don't care he's not important to me."

Ink smile deviously, pulling out his paintbrush, all with the intent to kill the glitchy man.

Ink rushed toward Error, murder in his eyes. With Error trying to reboot, he was practically helpless.

Blue clashed his spear against Ink's paintbrush, pressing against him.

"Get out of my way Blue." Ink hissed, pressing back.

"I'm not going to let you kill my friend." Blue hissed back.

"Why are you protecting him? He's never done anything for you!"

"Yes, he has! He's not perfect but he's trying his best! He got me away from you and...!"

Blue stuttered at the name, he was trying to avoid it, avoid him, as much as possible.

"Ink stand down."

Ink immediately backed away as Blue flinched, stepping back as well.

"Why do you fight it Blue? It's doing you no good." Dream hummed, walking in front of the frightened male.

As Dream walked he summoned his aura, it was a dirty tactic sure, but it almost always worked. And he needed this to work.

"I, I, I can't!" Blue croaked out, lowering his weapon.

"Awe why not? Why are you running from your heart?"

"The world, the Multiverse,, it! It needs a hero! I can't just! I can't just!"

"Just what Blue?"

"I can't just give up like that! When you and Ink left, no one had anything to believe in!"

"Oh, we didn't leave you Blue. Our eyes were opened."

Blue stared up into Dream's golden eyes. Those beautiful, perfect eyes.

Dream was right.

What was the point of running?

Blue dropped his weapon and collapsed into Dream, sobbing uncontrollably. Dream caught him, pulling him close.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'msorry I'msorry I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry, I'm sorry!" Blue sobbed helplessly into Dream's chest, gripping his black, military-patterned jacket like his life depended on it.

It worked.

I broke him.

"Oh Blue, why are you sorry? You have nothing to be sorry about."

"Please, don't leave me again...!" Blue wailed into Dream, Dream rubbed his back, strumming his hands up and down.

"Come with me Blue, and you'll never be alone again. I promise."

Blue just gave him a little nod, eyes still filled with tears. Dream took his thumb and wiped the tears off of his face and smiled.

You're mine now.

No one will ever get close to you, no one will be there to put the broken pieces of your head back together.

I can promise you that love.

—🖤💛—💙—💛🖤—

Dream twirled a piece of Blue's soft hair with his finger mindlessly as Blue's head was neatly situated on Dream's lap.

Dream slipped his hand underneath Blue and made him sit up, Blue groggily obeyed and sat up. Dream wrapped a hand across Blue's hip and pulled his close, closing the gap in between them.

Blue wrapped his arms around Dream's neck, while Dream slowly slipped off Blue's black and blue jacket down his shoulders a bit. He then pulled Blue over to him, making it so that he was sitting on him.

The two pulled away, Dream began to give gentle kisses down Blue's neck. Which he shows obvious signs of enjoying. Dream started making little circles on Blue's hips with his thumbs.

Blue whined for a second, but didn't tell him to stop.

Not like Dream would've listened.

Dream smirked as he made us way up to his chin and back down the other side. Giving gentle kisses all the way.

Dream summoned a tentacle, which ripped apart the shirt Blue was wearing, giving Dream a perfect view of his chest.

"Wha, Dream?"

Dream ignored Blue's cries for an explanations he made his way down to Blue's upper chest. Dream began to kiss it delicately as Blue fumbled with the zipper on his jacket.

Dream finished and pulled away, Blue zipped his jacket up about half way. Blue slumped forward, nuzzling his face into the crook of Dream's neck.

"I..."

"Hm?"

"I love you."

Dream let out a snicker.

"Yeah. I know."
