I Feel Like The Animal I Am

//LEGENDS OF TOMORROW\\

//I FEEL LIKE THE ANIMAL I AM\\

"May you be unstoppable."

The two walk down the hall in a comfortable silence.

As they reach their conjoined room Erin speaks up, "We'll probably be at the Vanishing Point soon, I'm gonna change before we get there."

Sara nods her head, kissing Erin on the cheek before they part ways.

There was something Sara had to talk to Rip about, it seemed complicated so Erin didn't bother asking.

She stepped into their shared room, taking off the sweater and shirt she had on.

She rummages through her clothes and pulls out a dark purple, short sleeved shirt.

She slips it on and changes into a pair of light skinny jeans.

When Erin is all changed, she takes a minute and gazes at herself in the mirror.

She tries to shake off Savage's words from earlier.

If she was easy to manipulate, then who else had been manipulated in her family?

"You are on the good side."

A young girl, no older than 15 stood in front of a man, a tall woman behind her.

Why was her mind wandering? She never experienced this.

"He is on the wrong side."

The man was on his knees.

What is she thinking?

This isn't her, they're not her memories. Are they memories?

The woman smiles. She looks familiar.

Too familiar.

Erin's going crazy, she knows it.

People don't just randomly see things like this, she's going crazy she has to be.

Erin shakes her head, trying to get rid of the images but it does nothing.

The woman's blue dress sways. Her green eyes narrow.

"You are on the good side. He is on the wrong side."

The girl isn't Erin. She knows that.

It can't be.

The young girl stays still staring at the man.

But the girl looks so familiar. She almost... looks like Erin.

"Say it!"

Erin finds herself whispering the words as the woman had commanded.

"I am on the good side. He is on the wrong side."

The faint echo of the little girl remains, "I am on the good side. He is on the wrong side."

"Now finish him!"

The doors slide open and Sara walks through.

Erin peeks at her through the mirror and before Sara can say anything about the brunette's look, Erin talks to her.

"You look mad."

Sara clenches her fists, "Savage was right."

Erin stares dumbfounded at her.

Did Sara just tell her Savage was right about her? Did she hear correctly?

Savage was right? How could she say something like that.

Sara was the one person she thought would always tell her Savage was wrong, and she was starting to believe it too.

But now?

Now she's not so sure.

Sara looks up at her through the mirror and goes wide eyed at her expression.

"No no no!" She says in a panic. "Not about you!"

Erin turns around, "About what then?"

"About Rip."

Erin visibly relaxes but her curiosity still remains. "What about Rip?" She asks.

Sara sighs, sitting on the edge of their bed, Erin moving to join her. "He almost killed Jax trying to get us to the Vanishing Point."

"He what!?" Erin's eyes go wide.

"He sent him to fix the time drive or something and long story short now Jax is slowly dieing. The criminals are jumping ship, if you want to go as well I won't fight you on it."

Erin is taken aback by the story but only one question runs through her mind, "Are you?"

Sara shakes her head. "I'm staying." She says, "I'm not going to abandon the mission, but I'm not going to trust Rip and let him get us killed."

Erin nods her head, understanding and feeling the same way as her girlfriend.

"So what do we do now then?" Erin asks.

Sara just smiles. "I guess we wait to reach the Vanishing point. I'm going to play cards with Snart if he decides to stay, you want to join?"

Erin turns down the offer, saying "No i think i'm gonna go find Stein."

Saras brows furrow in confusion before realization washing over her.

"To talk about...?"

Erin nods her head, "Yeah, i think so."

Sara smiles and kisses Erins cheek.

"I'm proud of you. If you need me you'll know where to find me."

Sara walks out first, Erin taking some time to herself before walking out.

She roams the halls trying to figure out where Stein would be. She soon remembers that he's most likely in the med bay with Jax.

A pang of guilt flows through Erin and she stops walking.

How could she bother Stein with her stupid problems at a time like this?

His literal other half is dieing, the last thing she should be doing is talking about her problems with him.

"Do not feel guilt. It is a weakness."

Erin glances around her but nobodies there.

She rubs her eyes and shakes her head, trying to get the craziness out or something.

Whatever is happening its beginning to drive her crazy.

The hairs on her arms and neck rise in anticipation.

Somethings wrong.

Erin can feel it. A shift in the air, something bad.

The lights on the Waverider are suddenly off.

Her first thought drifts to Sara.

The ship shakes for a brief moment.

She begins sprinting through the halls, knowing she would play cards in either the cargo bay or someones rooms.

She ruled out their shared room knowing it was already empty.

The feeling grows and thats when she knows this is real bad. As she rounds the corner towards the cargo bay she stops dead in her tracks.

A herd of men, all in black, stand facing her. They're covered from head to toe in black battle gear, their helmets black and blocking their entire faces as well.

They all raise their guns at her and yell.

"Get down! Now!" One of them shouts at her.

They all slowly advance towards her. "Get down!" They keep shouting and Erin knows this is the bad feeling she had.

She smiles nervously at them, before taking off the way she came.

Heavy footsteps follow behind her along with more shouting.

A bullet flies past her head and Erin throws herself into the closest room for coverage.

"You have got to be kidding me." She mumbles to herself.

She leans against the wall beside the door, listening as the footsteps grow closer.

Every thing goes still and Erin knows its time for a fight.

The words from earlier still echo in her mind.

"You are on the good side. He is on the wrong side."

The door is open and the men file in quickly.

That's when Erins eyes flash a dangerous green and she charges at the closest soldier.

She pushes his gun away, the bullet firing into the ground. She knees him in the crotch before swinging him around and firing his gun at another soldier, who slumps back against the wall.

A man fires at her but it is blocked by the soldier she holds out in front of her.

She tosses the man aside and sweeps another soldiers feet out from under him.

His grip loosens on his gun and Erin slips it into her hands as he falls.

Just as she is about to shoot his shoulder, her mind goes black.

***********

This first thing Erin can feel is the pounding in her head.

A groan excapes her lips when she turns herself over.

She opens her eyes, squinting at the lights above her head before proping herself up on her elbows.

She hears a familiar voice ask if shes alright and she nods her head.

It's only then that she realizes shes trapped in a sort of cage.

She pushes herself to her feet and scans her surroundings. Almost the entire team is in the same pisition as her.

"Where's Sara?" She asks, immediatly.

"Her and Snart got away on the Waverider." Ray explains.

Mixed emotions build up inside of Erin as she leans against the wall of her cell.

Sara left, how could she just take the Waverider and abandon them all? Abandon her.

Erin supposed she should be use to it by now, but getting left by the one person you thought would never leave? That is something that will always hurt.

On the other hand, she's glad that Sara is safe. She's glad Sara made it out alive and hopefully unharmed, even if it meant Erin had to get left behind in the process.

"We could have used your help, you know?" Ray speaks up. His voice isn't bitter, he sounds more defeated than anything.

Erin looks at him confused. "Me? With what?"

Ray turns so they meet eyes. "Yes you."

This is the first time Erin's heard him sound even remotely angry.

"Did you not notice all the shooting and fighting and lets talk about the fact the Waverider shut down!"

He's almost yelling at her and she can tell he's actually getting mad, she knows that emotion all too well.

His voice lowers, almost to a whisper. "We might've won if you had been there."

"What are you talking about?" Erin asks confused.

Now the entire team stares at her as if she's crazy, something shes been feeling a lot lately.

Before any other words can be said the large heavy doors in front of them open.

Multiple guards file in led by a man in a long cloak-like thing.

He motions his arm towards Erin. "Take the girl." He says simply to the soldiers.

Erin backs up until her back hits the wall. "Oo not gonna be that easy Voldemort." She says getting into a defensive stance.

The moment they let down the guard of her cage she attacks.

She goes for the first guard, punching his chest.

A white hot pain shoots through her whole body, originating from somewhere on her side.

Her body feels as if it shut down. One moment she's on the floor, next it feels as if she's being dragged through sand.

Maybe not sand. But something.

Its all too fuzzy for her to focus.

Someone calls her name. No maybe not her name.

Maybe two people call.

Or maybe nobody.

It all goes silent moments after and everything remains a blur.

***********

"Ma'am we have the girl."

Thats a voice. Someones voice, but it's not familiar.

She's restriced somehow. Her arms won't move, her legs won't move.

Her whole body won't move.

Her eyes won't open, why won't her eyes open?

A shadow casts over her. Maybe a person?

"Who is this?"

"Project Panther, as requested."

Project Panther? What's Project Panther?

Or who?

"This is not her." The person has a thick accent.

A woman?

"Ma'am she has the same genetic build that you had given to us."

Idiots!" A loud noise.

A slap?

The world's so dark.

"It has been long enough for her to start a family!"

Silence.

Was it a dream?

No.

A voice speaks again.

"Where is this girl from, pull up her family."

Clicking. Typing.

"That's her."

Silence.

"Get rid of this one."

Erin?

"Bring me her."

Erin's being moved again.

Maybe on a cart?

It has wheels, they squeak and hit bumps.

A gurnee?

She still can't move, her eyes won't open.

Its like she's being drawn into a sleep.
